I picked up a nasal staph infection at my mother's nursing home after she tested positive (twice) for MRSA. After 2.5 months of trying to kill the sore in my nostril, (and the irritation restarting every couple of days, and taking two rounds of antibiotics), I finally got serious about finding a natural option.
At this point, I found your site and called a pharmacist friend of mine who said to apply good quality turmeric. Knowing that aloe vera is anti-staph, I used the gel as a base. First, I'd dip a Q-tip into the gel and then the turmeric, and then applied it to each nostril. For the sinuses, I used GSE nasal spray (actually, I bought an additional bottle of the liquid, and added a few more drops to the nasal spray, just to make sure). I sprayed and blew a many times a day for 2 weeks. I needed to be consistent because no matter what I tried, it kept coming back. It seems to be gone now, thankfully and it's been five months now. What a relief!
Also, I am SO grateful for your site and for giving hope to people, when all other options have failed them. Thank you, thank you, thank you...!
MRSA Treatment -- I just wanted to help others that have contracted MRSA by telling them what worked for me:
People seem to think that MRSA only happens in hospitals and unclean environments - think again. I'm clean, and I'm healthy. I am a professional athlete, and I contracted MRSA somehow after I fell and injured myself (road rash). I noticed I started developing a boil on my arm. It just got bigger and bigger, until my whole lower arm started to swell. I went to the ER and got a shot of antibiotics - the swelling started going down. When I got home, I went to my dr. and had the boil swabbed - tested postive for MRSA. I was prescribed 10 days of Bactrim and Bactroban antibiotic. The boil cleared up, but less than a month later I broke out with boils again. The prescribed antibiotic did not help. After reading Earthclinic, I tried the following things, and have not had an outbreak since. Turmeric (oral), Manuka Honey (oral and on the boils), Tea tree oil (nostrils and boils), and Grapefruit Seed Extract (oral). I have discontinued use of everything except the GSE - I still take 5 drops daily. For those of you reading this - don't be discouraged - take care of your body, be vigilant and you can defeat this.

Ultraviolet blood irradiation has been around for about 100 years but fell by the wayside when antibiotics came around. Naturopaths still use it in the U,S. My naturopath said it would cure me in a few treatments but I have some puss that needs clearing up, so it's taking longer. I do feel a million times better when I go in. I was going to wait to post this until I was cured but decided to post.

Nothing has helped my terrible case of mrsa more than urine therapy..I treat myself inside and out with it .I use other natural cures as well like garlic probiotic vitamin c essential oils h2o2 ect..but nothing I have found has made the anxiety and depression go away but urine. It also stops mrsa pain instantly and nothing kills a mrsa boil faster than urine..I drink it, I bathe in it, I soak my infection in it nothing has helped me more..
I find raw living garlic in tangent with urine works best I pee in an old glass pickle jar let it sit all day sometimes several days then crushed raw garlic added to it to soak and clean infection it works better than anything else I've tried..
If you are fighting mrsa I highly recommend it.
Please do another survey on MRSA. Been fighting it for 2 months and have been told by numerous medical personel that it is almost a epidemic here in West TN. I also have Lupus that seems to make it harder to get it cleared up. Thank you for you advice I am goiing to try the Natural way because the other is NOT working.
Is there a link between MRSA and Lupus?
Vitamin C is how I have been keeping MRSA at bay. A life saver. I take 2000-3000 mg a day. I also make sure I get at least 7 hrs of sleep a night and am trying to keep my stress level low. If I get a bump of any kind I put a band aid with triple antibiotic on it and increase the vitamin C dose to 6000-8000 per day. Your body does not store it but your stomach will tell you when you have had enough. I use the powdered one that you put in water and have had little trouble. This works well because I just make sure it is in my water bottle at all times when I have an outbreak. The outbreaks come when I let things slide and try to run on 5 hours of sleep or quit taking the' vitamin C . I have done quite a bit of research on MRSA/Staph and it's all about your immune system. Stands to reason that if you build up your immune system so your body can fight off the infection it will do just that. Seems to be working great!

Howdy! I discovered your site about 2 years ago while searching for relief from MRSA staff. My infection was so bad my doc wanted to put me in the hospital on IV antibiotics which I avoided by the Grace of God. I am posting now because of info gained about Vitamin D3 in reference to it supporting one's immune system. I started taking D3 in doses of 2000 units 3 times a day to total 6000mg. I buy it over the counter at my local store sometimes I use the gel caps and sometimes tablets. I have not had even a pimple come up in about a year. On a personal note I am 61, white female on oral meds for Type ll Diabetes and Hypertension and I am blessed to share :)
I had MRSA for a whole year from 3/09 to 3/10. I had no idea what staph/mrsa was and when I got the boil I thought it would go away and didn't know it would get so much worse within a matter of minutes. Anyways, the doctors put me on a round of Cipro. One month later, another boil came and then I was put on Bactrim.
In the meantime, I looked on earthclinic for help. I tried Turmeric for a month, Colloidal Silver for 3 Months, Vitamin C, Magnesium. Finally, I read about drinking Acai Berry juice. This worked immediately by just drinking a cup of the juice twice a day, my hard painful boil was gone the next day. But when I stopped the Acai juice, the boils came back. I started looking for other permanent cures.
Then I decided to try Vitamin D3, that I found on Ebay, with each capsule containing 10,000 iu's. I took 40,000 iu's, which was 4 pills a day. I did this for 3 months, with no other supplements. My spring allergies disappeared, my insomnia went away, my sebhoreic dermatitis went away, my skin cleared up and finally my boils did not return. The only thing is, I think my candida got worse from taking the Vitamin D. So, I'm not taking it anymore and am now trying to alkalize with Ted's Potassium Bicarbonate remedy.
It's been about two months now and I'm MRSA free. This was not the case 5 or 6 months ago, when I had a new MRSA boil every month. I guess what works for one doesn't work for others. But, Vitamin D did it for me. If there is anything ailing, "seek and you shall find." Had I not come to earthclinic, I would still be on antibiotics right now.
I cured many Staph infections large and small which are very common in the humid tropical regions of the world. The simple solution was:
Yunnan Baiyao which is a very common remedy available in any Traditional Chinese Medicine ( TCM ) shop. Cost a few $ only and is in powder or capsule form which can be appied topically and or taken orally. It heals these boils in one or two days like magic. Search Google for more info. Also good to keep skin dry and clean as possible with good nutrition to avoid recurrence.
YUNNAN BAIYAO cured my Mrsa.
EC: Yunnan Baiyao also known as Yunnan Paiyao is a hemostatic powdered medicine famous for being carried by the Vietcong to stop bleeding during the Vietnam War.
Although its main ingredients are steamed and raw Sanqi (Tienchi ginseng, Notoginseng roots of Panax pseudoginseng) used to normalize blood flow, enhance poor circulation and heal internal bleeding in injuries and bleeding ulcers, and Rhizoma Dioscoreae , The two tienchi ginsengs are combined with astringent herbs that absorb excess bleeding, invigorate the blood and enhance healing including myrrh and "dragon's blood" another resinous herb for internal bleeding.
