Gaps Diet

I hope this helps someone, I know there is a lot of suffering out there. I am a nutritionist, researcher and have used the GAPS diet in gut and brain related conditions over the years. One client, a mid-30s mother of 3 boys had daily migraine seizures so severe that she was unable to function.I recommended she try the GAPS diet as I had so much success with ASD children improving. GAPS requires a bone broth, to meat stock, advancing diet to heal the gut lining and prevent leaky gut and, ulimately, leaky brain.
After 30 days she was seizure free, and no longer having the migraine headaches she had had since she was 13. She was a miracle, but I have come to know that miracles are not rare but happen everyday all over the world.....more and more as people wake up and take control of their own health.

My doctor showed me an article in the NJOM years ago about bag breathing for migraines. This has changed my life and made me functional when otherwise I might be a mess.

Getting migraines less frequently due to dietary changes, however still get them once in awhile.
Last night began to see squiggly lines, vision impaired etc, all letting me know the pain was coming. I remembered seeing cures for migraine on this site and looked again. Immediately took 3 tablespoons of ACV with a little honey in 8 ounces. OMG!!! No pain, no vomiting. I feel tired, but there was and is no pain.
I am so grateful. I have tried numerous cures including medication and nothing has worked like this. THANK YOU for posting this remedy.
Alka Seltzer

Hi LMF... It is incorrect to say that Alka-Seltzer Gold ingredients contains
"potassium bicarbonate instead of sodium bicarbonate." The full list of ingredients for Alka-Seltzer Gold is shown below:
Anhydrous citric acid 1000 mg
Potassium bicarbonate 344 mg
Sodium bicarbonate (heat-treated)* 1050 mg
*When sodium bicarbonate is heat-treated it becomes sodium carbonate.
After the acid-base reaction between the citric acid and the bicarbonates when water is added, the drink then essentially contains sodium citrate and potassium citrate -- notably with the sodium citrate in much higher quantity than the potassium citrate.
This drink mixture of sodium citrate and potassium citrate is more or less in exactly the same amounts and proportions as advised in Ted from Bangkok's alkalizing sodium/potassium citrate remedies on EC. Except that his version is made with the bare ingredients, which is perhaps a much cheaper way of doing it than buying Alka-Seltzer Gold.

OMG... Thank you, thank you, thank you! After trying cure after cure and being frustrated to the point of actually taking over the counter meds (gah) which I knew was too far progressed to even put a 'dent' in the headache I had, which seem to grow worse by the second no matter what I tried. After a cold shower and feeling frustrated as well as miserable and in constant agony. I went to the freezer and grabbed a frozen roll of ground turkey and dropped it in a baggy, put it behind my neck then watched a comedy for about a hour (and the headache was baaad). By the time it was over the headache had decreased then went away (I was dancing around my kitchen, lol) after all I tried it was as simple as that! The kind of headache that should have lasted 3 days. I nearly cried because of the relief. So hey sometimes it 'can' be that 'easy'. Hope this works for you. Hugs Hugs.
Breathe Into a Brown Paper Bag

I myself do not suffer from migraine headaches, but I heard a lady on the radio who does. She said this method works every time for her. As soon as you feel a migraine coming on, take a brown paper bag and breathe into it (hold it against your face so that very little outside air gets in). Keep the bag in place for 10, 15 or even 20 minutes. If a paper bag is not available, you can use a plastic bag, but since it doesn't "breathe," you'll need to take a few breaths outside the bag periodically. She said it will seem like nothing is happening, but the migraine will not develop. By the way, her husband is an emergency room doctor and she learned this method from him.

I have done this now for a few Months ever since my Doctor explain why it work. Migraines are a swelling of the brain. CO2 make the blood vesels constrict causing the flow of blood to slow down. It works almost every time if I do it soon enough.
Taurine

There are quite a few reports on internet that Taurine is helping many people with migraines. I had occipital neuralgia and it greatly calmed down the pain. I took 2000 mg twice a day untill it was gradually minimized. I think mine starts with very subtle anxiety that eventually translates to pain in back of neck and head. It hurts when I put my head on pillow.
I speculate that if you have osteoarthritis which is caused by systemic infection, that will also contribute. You can take minocycline for osteoarthritis.
I realize the neuralgia makes your life very miserable so I hope this added information will help solve the puzzle.

Thank you so much for sharing. I tried this with my most recent migraine and just like you said it worked within about 30 minutes. It was gradual for me but gradually better. I did not get my migraine back the next day either. It has only been one time to try for me, but I have it on hand now and will share with my fellow migraine sufferers to see if it works for them too. I'm so glad we have this site. I have found at least three very helpful working remedies now on earth clinic from testimonials that have healed or relieved longer term ailments for me. So much more effective and different from anything told at any medical facility or from a doctor.
Almonds

About a month ago, I experienced a migraine that did not respond to my usual treatment (Excedrin Migraine) so I took a second dose even though the package said not to. I was still suffering and getting worried when I remembered having read about eating almonds to stop a migraine. I happened to have some and by the time I had eaten six of them, the migraine was completely gone! Last night, I got another migraine and took the Excedrin, but also ate about a dozen almonds, and the headache stopped within just a few minutes. I don't know what it is about almonds, but it worked for me.
Enema
Posted by Sue A (Usa) on 01/27/2022
Patty - glad you got relief. Yes, the enema will usually give instant relief from the headaches!
Not giving medical advice. Talk with your doctor for the best remedy for you.
I also have gotten relief from migraines by getting enemas!
I used to be shy to tell this but now tell everyone I can help.
Instead of the prepackaged saline small bottle enema, find the two quart red rubber enema bag. No won't leech toxins from the rubber.
If you can't find the bag one, then buy the 8 oz enema bulb syringe one. May take one or two refills to do the two quart enema.
and, it can be used for the child in the home as well.
Prepare yourself (stripping and putting robe on).
Prepare the bed with a towel on it. Then prepare the enema bag in the kitchen sink. Carry it to the bedroom. May feel silly or nervous carrying a full enema bag down the hallway! Hey get over it. It is healing and health.
Of course you have privacy and are alone at home. Filled full with plain warm water or mild warm soapy water or herbal enema you are getting.
In the bedroom, Hold or hang it a few inches above you. Lay on the bed and take very slowly the full bag enema. This may take a few enemas to work up to getting a full bag.
Relax. Relax! Breathe in and out of open mouth when getting the enema.
if feel a cramp coming on…relax, stop the flow,, relax more…take deep breaths… the start the flow again. It is not a race. Take your time!
after a few enemas you will be able to lay there and retain it for a few minutes.then go expell.
if you are nervous about your first ever enema ask a neighbor friend if she will assist you and give you an enema. Don't be shy. Most likely she has experience giving enemas or wants to learn too.
I did this my first ever enema. Thankfully she had some nursing experience and had given the enema before. I was surprised when she was giving me the enema she told me she does one often and had given them to her boy when he needs one. And she gave to patient ms before in the home.
she told me he is 5 so she uses the bulb on him. When older she told me he will get the bag one.
omg couldn't believe I was talking about the enema with her.
My headache went away right after each enema.
I now get one if a headache comes on. I get a monthly enema no matter what.
Feel good after getting the enema.

ACV definitely helps with my migraines, which start in the back of my neck and creep through my head into the forehead. Nothing helped anymore unless I'd take something so strong that it could be dealt on the street. Not my cup of thea though and I drive a school bus! I tried the 2-3 tbsp. ACV in about 8 oz of water with a little honey. It really tastes good, like tart apple juice. Anyway about 20 minutes later my migraine/headache was considerably better and I could think straight again and the fatigue that usually comes with this headache was gone. I drink the concoction now everyday at least once and more whenever needed.
Thanks to all who recommended it!
Cayenne

I woke up a few times during the night with a dull migraine. In the morning it was still there. As I had been reading about Cayenne being good for opening veins for blood flow and being good for the heart (in stopping a heart attack in its' tracks), I figured that it would be good for migraine as well. I took about 1/2 tspsn in hot water as soon as I got out of bed and the migraine vanished practically straight away. It did not return all day. Usually when I wake up with a migraine that I have had all night it stays with me all day. Anyone with heart problems should seriously research cayenne and keep some with them at all times.

I have been having menstrual migraines for the last 15 years - up to 10 a month recently - and had been put on all sorts of drugs. I came across a site which mentioned lack of magnesium being a cause of migraine. When I asked to be put on a trial to see if it would work for me the doctors at hospital said they had never heard of such a thing so I started taking a supplement myself. Since taking the Magnesium I am down to 2-3 migraines a month. I am now taking the ACV mixture and look forward to seeing the effects of that.

Hi,Just wanted to comment on the acv treatment for migraines. It works. I started this a couple of years ago. Migraines run in my family. Severe ones. Nothing has ever worked. Came across this site a couple of yrs ago, decided to try it. Tasted really awful, but the bad taste outweighed having another migraine. I took it faithfully twice a day. My migraines went away. I didnt get sick at all. Well I decided to come off of it. I thought I was cured, haha. Not long after, got the flu twice within 2 months, migraines started coming back. Needless to say, I am here to say it is my daily regimen, now. I use unsweetened apple juice (32 oz.bottle), 1/4 cup honey, and 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar. Shake it up real good. to melt honey, run it under hot water. I drink about 4 oz morning and night. The taste is bad to begin with, but hang in there. It does grow on you. IT WORKS. Best migraine preventive medicine I have ever taken. Hope it work for you. Please give it a try. What have you got to lose.

One month ago, I came across this site in search of help for my chronic headaches and migraines. Over the Counter meds didn't seem to touch my pain and while my prescription meds did help take the migraines away... it didn't help with the daily headaches. I was so tired of having headaches. I just wanted to make it one day without the pain of my head pounding! After reading the feedback of others, I thought I had nothing to lose by trying APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. So I did.... and IT WORKED! I couldn't believe it. I have been taking 1 ACV tab 2 times a day. I have not had a migraine since (I was having 3 or 4 a month) and although I have had a few "regular" headaches, it's nothing like before. Not only has ACV helped my headaches, it has also help with my allergies. ACV may not work for everyone, but I am so thankful that it worked for me!

WOW! I have come to love the wonderful product of ACV. I have had severe allergies and sinus problems since I could walk. Chronic bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsilitis (they have lonce since been removed), rhinitis, etc... I have always taken prescription medication. However I am 8 mos pregnant and have not been able to take anything but over the counter Tylenol products. For the past 3 days I have been down and out with a severe sinus migraine, congestion and pressure. Nothing worked and I am sleep deprived! Adding these symptoms to 8mos of pregnancy spells MISERY for sure. I was desperate so I hopped online and what do you know? I found the same product that cured my husband of his pesky wart will also clear my sinuses. I only wished I found this info sooner! I took 1 tbsp of ACV with 8oz of water and downed. Then I made a mixture and put it in my veggie steamer (ACV is also a great residue cleaner) and sat over it for about 5mins. Everything started to clear up within the hour. I then rinsed with saline solution and I can breathe out of both nostrils! My headache is almost gone and the pressure almost nil! Oh and by the way the ACV steam bath is great for oily skin. I noticed a difference immediately after the face bath. I was then curious to see if this was a known rememdy for acne/skin problems and sure enough it is!!! In fact, Earth Clinic was the first hit.
I am amazed that such a simple, inexpensive product can do so much. Thank you dearly for this site.

Raw Local Honey for Migraines
I have suffered migraine headaches since I was 30 years old. They identified were so bad that I would vomit. I have used Sumatriptan to abort a migraine, which normally works. I am now 50 and am going through menopause. While I believe that my migraines are hormonal in nature and may be ameliorated by a change in my hormone levels, I have had a much better time since having two cups of black tea each morning, and in each cup putting a spoonful of raw, local honey. I also cut way back on dairy, but I think it is the honey that has made my situation so much better (and made me really regular too! ) I am so pleased! I did not see honey here as a remedy for migraine, but I definitely think it is.

I'm 68 in good health but still get migraines. I've had prescription medication for 20 years but sometimes it doesn't work. I tried the ice packs on the back of my neck for 2 hours and that helped. Then I pressed real hard on the top of my neck, both sides and my migraine was almost completely gone!
Coconut Water

I have suffered with hormonal migraines for years. My last pregnancy I had them every day for my entire second trimester. 3 months straight... I'm pregnant again and started getting them again at 12 weeks. They are incapacitating, and brutal. I just recently discovered if I drink 8 oz. coconut water every day, they drastically improved.
I ran out of coconut water and didn't take it for about 5 days.. yesterday, the migraines came back. I'm convinced there's something to replenishing your electrolytes, since coconut water is SO good at keeping you hydrated and has the best source of electrolytes.
Also, it's much more tasty if you mix it in with a smoothie, or some pineapple juice.
