Cayenne

I would like people to know of the miracle of cayenne pepper. My chronic headache which would spike into migraine has been eliminated by taking 2 capsules of cayenne pepper after breakfast. The results are immediate and lasting. I also take magnesium at night which has helped greatly. The cayenne, however, not only stops pain but gives you such a boost that the need for coffee is gone. I tried the pepper mixed in water but it made me nauseous. The capsules are convenient and easier to get down. PLEASE try this simple remedy if you have suffered from lifelong headaches. You may be really pleased and surprised.

Oil Pulling

I accidentally found oil pulling as a migraine cure about an hour ago! I have had a migraine for many hours. I was getting ready to give up and go to bed, so I brushed my teeth, then decided to oil pull before I laid down.

I had no expectation of it affecting the headache, just thought I should get it in while I had some down time. But before I could even finish the 15 minutes, my migraine was GONE!

Makes me sad that I've suffered migraines for so many years and have also known about oil pulling, but never tied them together therapeutically. Either way, I can't wait till I get another migraine so I can see if it was a fluke, but by the way I feel and how quickly it just went away, I'm inclined to think I have stumbled upon something that works great, at least for me.

I hope those of you with migraines will also give it a try! It's worth a try! Incidentally, I was using an organic, first cold pressed sunflower seed oil.

I wish you all the best : ) I'll update next time I try it...

The same thing happens to me when I take AVC for a migraine, it will get worse, and I mean like a 10. if I do not have a migraine it will bring it on. I wish someone would address this issue as to why.

Feverfew

I have also found Feverfew exceptional for migraines.

I suffered from migraines before low air pressures, when going in the sun for too long and sometimes could be in bed for two or three days. Once I started taking feverfew on a regular basis the migraines left for ever. I don't need to take it these days, I sometimes get some of the migraine symptoms but not the blinding pain.

I woke up a few times during the night with a dull migraine. In the morning it was still there. As I had been reading about Cayenne being good for opening veins for blood flow and being good for the heart (in stopping a heart attack in its' tracks), I figured that it would be good for migraine as well. I took about 1/2 tspsn in hot water as soon as I got out of bed and the migraine vanished practically straight away. It did not return all day. Usually when I wake up with a migraine that I have had all night it stays with me all day. Anyone with heart problems should seriously research cayenne and keep some with them at all times.

Hello Beth,

Have you tried niacin (B-3) or the herb Feverfew? I have a video up on Earth Clinic that discusses migraines if you care to watch.

My husband read that vinegar reduced cramping in athletes - so he tried it for the leg cramps he gets from riding 40 miles on his bike. One day he suggested I try it for my frequent migraines - he thought it could affect the sodium channels that are linked to migraines. I get the kind w/ hypersensitivity to light, sound, etc., sometimes w/ naseau. Well, it's not 100%, but it works fast and helps more than other painkillers. He uses approx 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar in 2-3 TBS water. Someone should do clinical research on the sodium channel aspect as per migraines.

I had to write in since I am so amazed! Lastnight I had 2 adult beverages (light beer). I am an occasional drinker. I enjoy organic, wine, sake (Japenese wine), and light beer. I drink maybe once or twice per month. Before retiring last night after drinking the beer(was up later then usual), I drank a bottle water, some pumpkin seeds (for magnesium), and a little chocolate cake from weight watchers. I think the beer, seeds & chocolate triggered one of the worst migraines I have ever experienced. This morning I was feeling very sick with every symptom. I laid down in a quiet room and went back to sleep, awoke by a phone call and felt a tiny bit better but still had the migraine. I ate a 1/2 bagel, some sips of green tea. I got online and found this website. I went to the kitchen and whipped up 8 oz chilled water, disolved a tablespoon on organic raw honey and 2 TBS of ACV. It was a little yuk but not undoable. I downed it in 3-4 gulps. I started to get an immediate result! I went upstairs put my feet in a hot bath and placed a cool towel on the back of my neck for 5 minutes. I went back downstairs got my veggie steamer out, poured in about 2 tbs ACV and placed my face over the steamer for 5 minutes.

Conclusion, I feel 95% headache free! I am not sure if I have sinustis since I have been having seasonal allergy symptoms or if it was a combination with the alcohol and diet. I found all of above-mentioned natural remedies here on this fantastic widesite. It is my first time visiting here and I will keep it handy for sure.

I am so relieved to have found a natural remedy that so-far works amazingly!

Thank You!!!!

Coffee, Warm Feet, Cool Head, Gingko Biloba

I have suffered from migraines for many years, quite often relating to my menstrual cycle. I feel like I had tried everything, Chinese medicine, acupuncture, drugs, changing my diet, and nothing seemed to make a difference.

I usually just lay in bed with a hot water bottle attached to my head for hours on end, waiting for sleep to come so I could sleep it off.

However, I think I have finally found a remedy that works regularly for me.

One thing I have found about migraines is that they are connected to dilation and constriction of blood vessels in the brain. When you get a migraine, your blood vessels dilate.

So, the magic cure for me is two things.

A) as soon as I start getting ANY sign of a migraine, I drink the strongest coffee I can find and as much of it as I want. I don't normally drink coffee, so it affects me quickly. The coffee constricts the blood vessels and helps ease the pain of the swelling in the brain.

B) also what I do is heat up my feet and cool down my head. This helps with my circulation. I find when I have a migraine, my feet get very cold, so if I heat them up by soaking them in hot water or using a hot water bottle on them and cool down my head with a cool compress, I get relief.

Finally, I have been taking gingko biloba regularly as it is good for improving circulation.

I have not had problems with migraines now for almost 8 months.

One month ago, I came across this site in search of help for my chronic headaches and migraines. Over the Counter meds didn't seem to touch my pain and while my prescription meds did help take the migraines away... it didn't help with the daily headaches. I was so tired of having headaches. I just wanted to make it one day without the pain of my head pounding! After reading the feedback of others, I thought I had nothing to lose by trying APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. So I did.... and IT WORKED! I couldn't believe it. I have been taking 1 ACV tab 2 times a day. I have not had a migraine since (I was having 3 or 4 a month) and although I have had a few "regular" headaches, it's nothing like before. Not only has ACV helped my headaches, it has also help with my allergies. ACV may not work for everyone, but I am so thankful that it worked for me!

I have been using Cayenne pepper to treat my Migraines. I take 2 small caps. and an over the counter pain reliever. I DO NOT take any "Migraine" Medication with Cayenne pepper. But I find that it works great. I also take cayenne pepper the day after a migrain to get rid of the remnants of it.

Breathe Into a Brown Paper Bag

I myself do not suffer from migraine headaches, but I heard a lady on the radio who does. She said this method works every time for her. As soon as you feel a migraine coming on, take a brown paper bag and breathe into it (hold it against your face so that very little outside air gets in). Keep the bag in place for 10, 15 or even 20 minutes. If a paper bag is not available, you can use a plastic bag, but since it doesn't "breathe," you'll need to take a few breaths outside the bag periodically. She said it will seem like nothing is happening, but the migraine will not develop. By the way, her husband is an emergency room doctor and she learned this method from him.

I have done this now for a few Months ever since my Doctor explain why it work. Migraines are a swelling of the brain. CO2 make the blood vesels constrict causing the flow of blood to slow down. It works almost every time if I do it soon enough.

Hi all. I love this site! I've had migraine attacks since i was 15. 30 years later I continue to suffer from them. They are most often triggered by the hormonal changes I have when getting my cycle. Symptoms began yesterday, sensitivity to light and nausea started and I realized one was coming. I have been drinking ACV daily for about 2 months now and although it has improved my overall health, it didn't stop my migraine from coming back. I did take 60 mg of zinc supplements and read that magnesium also helps. I didn't have any but did have Milk Of Magnesia so took a little bit of that. To my surprise my symptoms lessened significantly. By now i would be in a full blow episode but I am doing okay! As all migraine sufferers know, the constant pain can be truly debilitating I'm so relieved this seems to have worked!

Apple cider vinegar cured my migraine. I woke up at 4 in the morning with a very strong migraine and headache, drank a desertspoonful of ACV with water, and walked around outside and 5/10 minutes later it was gone. I went back to sleep and woke up perfectly healthy later and stayed fine all day. What a brilliant remedy, what a brilliant site - thanks for sharing the knowledge. I wrote about lettuce but it doesn't compare with ACV because eating lettuce only prevents it -- doesn't cure like ACV does.

ACV treated my sinus infection! I came across this website looking for a treatment for my recurrent sinus infections that no antibiotics ever took care of, and based on all the reviews I tried the ACV treatment. It worked in ONE DAY!! I can't believe it, because I am a doctor, and am a little wary of home remedies. I did the 2 tbsp in 8 oz of water, and in one day I didn't have as much sinus pressure, and by the second day the constant drainage from the infection had stopped, and my migraines which I have had on and off for years also have not returned. In addition, my bad breath from the infection is gone, and I don't have to constantly be chewing gum anymore! I definitely will be doing this treatment everyday for a very long time, and I've found if you eat just a little bit of bread or crackers with the ACV you don't get heartburn. To anyone who's suffering from a sinus infection, just try this, it doesn't cost you much money at all, and if you've suffered from sinus infections as much as I have, you owe it to yourself to give this a shot!!! Best wishes to all!

Apple Cider Vinegar is AMAZING!! My entire life I was dealing with very painful and sometimes severe migraines and headaches. I tried almost every drug to get rid of the painful symptoms. Some of the drugs did help slightly but not always. My neighbor is a homeopathic doctor and listed all of the benefits of this "natural miracle" I ... started to take a couple of TBSP every morning. Every since I have been taking ACV I have not had a headache or migraine since. Apple Cider Vinegar will stay with me my entire life!

I had been suffering from daily severe headaches, usually on the left side of the head, and migraine symptoms, migraine headaches, most severe pain I have ever experienced. I was given many pain meds from doctor from naxopen (ibruprofen type pain killer) to tylenol w/ codeine # 3 and # 4, I was beginning to experience what is called a "rebound headache" from over use of pain meds (both prescribed and OTC), I read somewhere that magnesium helps relieve/prevent migraines. I began taking magnesium w/calcium supplements as well, and in less than 2 weeks, I began to feel much better. I am now headache-free/migraine-free about 90% of the time. I really recommend it to anyone who suffers from daily migraines/headaches, it has really improved my quality of life, hope it helps you too.
