I have type 2 diabetes since 2003. In the monrings my Blood sugar would be at 117 to 135. I am on Metformin 500 twice per say. Sine the past 2 full weeks I have been taking Molasse Blackstrap and ACV 3x days. In the mornigs my blood sugar is 80-81 mid mornings 70-71 - evening 60-65. I have not taken metformin for past the last 2 weeks, and accordingly with this result I am not going to reverse to metformin- It work wonders for me. It's a real blessing from the Lord. Since I have been taking it I have place various family members on it,
This is great - just great. Never mind the taste - just drink it- it's your health.

recently, I could not walk on my left foot. I was unable to put my foot on the ground and apply any body weight too it.I tried everything;anti-inflammatories, etc. I even bought $400.00 pair of shoes. I was desperate. I started taking apple cider vinegar and within two days major relief. I am typeII diabetic. I can only assume I was very acidic and the vinegar countered that. I was taking vitamin c awhile ago but stopped for some reason. with the vinegar I also have more energy. I have not tested my sugars but feel 100% better.

Christine…Did your husband drink the lemon water throughout the day, or all at once? How much ACV is he taking now?
It's been about 5 years since you posted. How is your husband's diabetes being treated now?
Thanks.

I noticed ACV doesn't work for everyone. Something to consider. Are any of you taking statin drugs for high cholesterol or glucosamine/chondroitin for arthritis? Both of these are known to raise blood sugar and for some even cholesterol. That is another subject but thought I would mention it. I just went off statins 3 weeks ago and already my arthritis is 75% better. Waiting to get my 1AC results back on the sugar.

Diana from Austin, TX writes about the side effects of ACV. My comment is that most likely the issues that you brought up are the result of the ACV pushing toxins out of your body. When you stop taking the ACV, the toxins stop releasing, however they are still in your body. Perhaps you could take it three days a month until you detox your body.

I heard that ACV will deteriorate the tooth enamel and that if you use a straw the ACV won't get on your teeth too much. Also rinsing your mouth out after the drink may help some.

Apple cider vinegar has been a prayer answered from God to stabilize the recent spikes in my blood sugar. For the past 11 years I have successfully controlled my Type 2 diabetes thru diet and supplements. About a month ago I started drinking 1-2 tbsp in a glass of water right before a meal, and I have noticed an amazing difference, with readings below 101. I feel more alive with fewer aches and pains. I am concerned about the effects on my dental health and plan to brush more frequently. But on the whole, I feel like I have been given a new outlook on life. It is very important to me to be in control of my health and keep my diabetes under control. Now with ACV, I can go on and enjoy life! God bless.

Actually, you can use it on your head to regrow your hair! I had this idea several months ago and, although not on a daily basis, my husband now has fine hairs growing on top which now need to be cut with the rest of his hair. A new hairline is even visible! Every night before bed he uses unfiltered, unpasteurized ACV on a cotton ball and rubs it on top. Recently he has started drinking two tsp with organic lemonade twice daily and been eating more alkaline foods and there has been an increase in the rate of growth and in the thickness of the hairs. We are now looking into natural home remedies for blocking DHT (excess DHT has been linked to hair loss) and have found that green tea, pumpkin seed oil, emu oil, nettles, pygeum, and saw palmetto are among some of the natural DHT blockers; however, we have yet to try these.

Vinegar has lowered my glucose readings. It has worked so well, that I, too, thought my monitor was broken. I happen to love vinegar, but even if I didn''t.....so what? It's only two tablespoons in 1/2 glass of water. I use it now after every meal. The results are unbelievable and so well worth my health. Please tell everyone. I cannot believe I stumbled upon this amazing, inexpensive aid in lowering my blood glucose levels.

I was diagnosed with contact dermatitis on my hands and feet. It was caused from exposins my hands to spray nine without the use of rubber gloves. I have been reading so much about apple cider vinegar and decided to try it. Well, I was also diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and also came the slightly high blood pressure and cholesterol a tad high. I started to take the acv and low and behold, my next bloodwork was the best it has been in 5 yrs. If my next 2 check ups are like this last one I may go off my diabetic and blood pressure pills all together. WOW! Thank you GOD for having the acv at our disposal.

I've been taking 2 tablespoons of organic vinegar in some water 2 times a day for a month and my fbs has been no higher than 111 for weeks now. I can't wait to have my lab work done to see what my A1C is! I keep looking at the numbers and I wonder if my glucose monitor is not working right. I'm a true believer. People think I am crazy when I talk about it though.

Just wonder how to get those two tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar before meals to control blood sugar. Does one mix it it with Tea or water? I know about salad dressing but what about other ways? DOES vinegar have any effect on A1C levels??

My father is a diabetic patient. He has type II diabetes. He got his diabetes when he was around 35-40 years of age. His blood sugar levels are as follows:
fasting sugar : 290
after lunch: 381
He is taking the following medications for diabetes:
Glyciphage 1mg tablet morning and evening
Insulin injection 25 units morning and evening
Recently I came to know about the benefits of apple cider vinegar. I got apple cider with mother. I am not sure about the dosage. Can you please suggest how much my father should take in the beginning taking in to account his blood sugar levels and the medications he is taking. Thank you.

Hi, I have been told that I have pre-diabetic levels and I wondered how much Apple Cider Vinegar you have to take to help take these levels down?
Thank you
Posted by Brian (Barrie, Ontario Canada) on 04/06/2009
Yes, aspartame is an ACCUMULATIVE toxin, if you need something sweet to take the edge of of the ACV, use an organic fruit juice or Stevia, Agava nectar etc.
Posted by Tapdnsr (Bfe, Kentucky) on 12/02/2012
no, no, no, no, no. Never ingest artificial sweeteners for any reason, but especially if you have diabetes. They make it worse... And can even cause it. instead use organic stevia, which not only beneficial for its sweetening properties, but also because it has a positive effect on diabetes itself.

How about giving Coconut Palm Sugar a try? It's available at health food stores. I'm using it and it tastes fine.

I too have been having the same problem with my left leg and started taking ACV twice daily. I am sure it will restore me to my old self- health. Thank you EC!

I will tell my husband to take apple cider vinegar on a daily basis. I had a mailer sent t to me about Diabetes & acv. The first time I tried it, I took my blood count before dinner. We ate, pasta, bread, chicken, & to top it off, a pie made of yams! Well, we finished dinner & began to clean up, & started to get shaky, I said to myself "no way", I was feeling so sick that I took my blood count again, it was 62! that was only less that was 45 minutes. try it take blood count before & after 1 hr., it really works, buy organic, unfiltered, keep in frig. for palatability, it doesn't burn like regular acv. THANKS!!!

I have been using apple cider vinegar for about a year. I have diabetes and anyone who understands diabetes knows that the longer you have diabetes the worse your digestion becomes. I have had it for 26 years and am insulin dependent and "had" terrible digestion problems, or little to no digestion. Now I drink apple cider vinegar everyday, 3 x per day 2 tablespoons in a glass of water. It has worked miracles for me and my insulin dependent. husband. Apple cider vinegar has cured my husbands IBS and eczema also. I drink it with every meal and then some. This is truly a miracle cure!!! Salute!!!
