[YEA]  01/03/2011: Dan from Myrtle Beach, Sc, Usa replies: "DEFINITELY!! My eyes were opened to the wonders of ACV on this site 6 months ago, and I've been almost regularly taking it since. TWICE since then (when I had been lax), I felt a sore throat coming on- the kind that for me, always leads to post nasal drip, and then a sinus infection. I read that I should "gargle with a mixture of 1 teaspoon ACV & a half cup of water, using 3 mouthfuls of mixture each hour until its gone. " Each time, I only had to do it twice and all symptoms were gone. Advil never hurts either! I am totally impressed and totally sold! "

[YEA]  08/15/2010: Brooke from Montgomery, Tx, Usa: "Mon. Of this week my boyfriend sprained his ankle at football practice. I got on EC to see what was recommended and I saw ACV. This is what I did - I put approx 3 Tbls of ACV, 5 Tbls of olive oil, about 1/2 cup of salt and Kidney Drainage liquid herbs, 3 squirts, and then rubbed his feet for about 1/2 hour. The swelling went down by the next morning and he could walk on it, however, it was sprained really bad. So I did it again the next night and by the morning it was 90%, and the next day it is 100%."

I did not want to pay the expensive vet bill again. This is how i found your web site. I hurried to the store to get some ACV, put a tps. in her food and in no time she was back to her self. Praise GOD for this miracle! The same night while i was walking her i fell off of my shoe and spranged my foot to where i could barely walk' I took 2 tbls. of ACV 2 times a day. By the end of the second day i was up and running, literally. It decreased the pain and did not even turn purple."

My grandmother told me to soak a brown paper bag in vinegar and wrap it around my foot all night. Incredible results. The swelling had gone down two thirds and in three full days I was walking on it again."

QUESTION

10/12/2011: Chorisia from Ipswich, Suffolk, England: "I have been using Aplle cider vinegar (UK) for years bought in 25ltr plastic containers. No mother forms in the plastic container, shortly after transferring into a glass container a thick mother forms. In small plastic containers no mother forms ether. So, is there some leaching from plastic inhibiting the formation of the mother? If so then it is wise not to keep cider vinegar in plastic containers?"

[QUESTION]  04/12/2010: Brenda from Mesa, Az: "Does ACV Lose Nutritional Effect if Frozen?

I just recently started taking a daily maintenance dose of ACV in water. My question is--here in AZ it's a mite warm a good chunk of the year and I must have ice cold water. So I freeze water bottles the night before to take to work.

My question is--does freezing the ACV mixed in water kill the "good stuff" in ACV? I hope not. I could do the ice cube thing, but that's so much more tedious and I already have enough chores to do.

Thanks."

04/14/2010: Debbie from Okanogan, Wa replies: "Hey Brenda, I just read your post, I don't know if you're freezing plastic water bottles, if so, don't, by freezing the plastic bottles, it causes the bottle to release dioxine, I believe that's what its called, which causes cancer. Don't freeze plastic bottles, use glass. I use old peanut butter jars. Bye for now, debbie"
04/19/2010: Ben from Baltimore, Md, Usa replies: "Regarding dioxins in plastics and freezing or heating them, do a google for "dioxins in plastic hoax" for hundreds of web sites on the topic. Apparently, it is not something to be concerned about."

WARTS

Ratings:

YEA

[YEA]  05/01/2011: Michelle from Denver, Co: "I had an annoying wart on my finger for YEARS and it just would not go away-- I tried cutting and freezing products but they were useless. THEN I started to put a little piece of cotton soaked apple cider vinegar directly on the wart covered with duct tape or a band-aid. Sometimes I would cut off a coulple of layers of skin before doing this so the vinegar could really get in there--it BURNED like hell, but in a short amount of time my wart was permanently GONE!

Also, just TODAY I was feeling soooo sick. I had just been to the doctor for another UTI and got some antibiotics but my whole stomach was hurting and I had horrible pains and bloating and discomfort. I drank 2 tablespoons of ACV diluted in a few cups of water with stevia and a little cinnamon (makes it taste less horrible) and I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER ALREADY! I don't know what it will take for me to get it through my thick skull that I need to be drinking a little of this stuff every day. I use organic ACV, with the mother. :)"

[YEA]  10/10/2008: Tone from Los Angeles, CA: "I have had warts on my right hand for years. I tried treating them with commercial products, and they would work for a while, but the warts would always come back (and invite a few more to join them!). I stumbled upon ACV as a natural way to treat warts and decided to try it. The first attempt on my thumb was a learning experience...I put too much on and it lifted all of the skin off and made it raw and sore. After that, I kept the cotton and ACV only on the wart area with a bandaid, and it has worked incredibly well. After a couple of days the wart will turn black, then die away. It's a miracle considering how many years and the amount of money that I spent trying to rid myself of them."

[YEA]  01/03/2011: Dan from Myrtle Beach, Sc, Usa replies: "YES!! My wife had some SERIOUS warts on her one leg that she refused to freeze off because it hurt and would blister so bad. She had it for years and they grossed me out. I wouldn't touch that leg. I read here about ACV working great on warts and she soaked small pieces of paper towel and held them in place with bandaids for 2 days and the big suckers turned black and then disappeared with only SOME burning! She was thrilled! Her leg still looks great 4 months later. She did the same thing on her daughter's hand, which had a few moderate warts, and the same thing happened. FANTASTIC!! I wish I could get my wife to drink it for her allergies, colds/sinuses, menstrual cycles, eczema and asthma, but she just cant get past the smell and taste. I am looking into pills for her so we'll see..."
01/03/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "I am glad that ACV worked for your wife's warts. I have tried it on my hand, not even a big wart and it never worked so after a while I got fed up. I would soak a piece of cotton wool and then tape it but it never disappeared. On my foot it did work but it was difficult to keep the tape in place as it would go loose when I walked. I had one on my leg, as ACV didn't seem to be working I used white vinegar and came to regret it as I had a bad burn which took quite a while to heal, was very painful and left a big brown mark which looks far worse than the wart which you hardly saw. Luckily it is getting a bit lighter. The wart in my hand is very flat and you hardly see it but I would love to get rid of it because I am afraid that if you have one you can get more. I will try the castor oil and bicarbonate next. The banana peel didn't work either!"

[YEA]  06/06/2008: Tina from DFW, Texas: "I had a plantar wart right on the edge of my heel that I could not get rid of. I tried the OTC freezing stuff and it did nothing. I starting putting ACV on a pinch of a cotton ball on it at night with a bandaid. I would also put a fresh one on in the morning and try to keep it on all day. This was during the summer even, I would just put a bandaid on it. It looked better than the wart anyway. After a few weeks, it turned white and eventually came out. The hold healed up and now you can't even see where it was and it has not returned after 2 years."

[YEA]  01/27/2012: Silencio from Elko, Nv, Usa replies: "I had a wart bigger than a half of my heel. Little warts grew all over my toes. This was the result of yanking out the center of a small to medium size wart on my heel. It made those evil devils spread like wildfire. I put apple cider vinegar on a paper towel and I duct taped it to my heel. Making a shoe. By the time this was done the wart was throbbing in pain. I planned on doing my toes, but I couldn't handle the pain. I laid down but didn't sleep the whole night.

Next day, I feel like my heel was eaten away by acid.

I peeled of the duct tape, I put so much apple cider vinegar that it turn my skin yellow, and tiny bits came off with the duct tape. The wart was twice the size as before big white and puffy, but it had a little little BLACK center.

I knew it was working.

Three sleepless nights later, almost no outer layer of skin on my heel, but a half its normal size completely used car oil black wart is in the center.

No more vinegar, I needed to sleep.

One week later, the wart dries up, I just scratch it, and a huge chunk of black death easily peels out of my foot, leaving a crater twice as deep as wide. I peel the rest out, and I literally can see the bone of my heel through the transparent inner layers of my body.

Four weeks later, the hole COMPLETELY healed. All the baby warts in my toes fell out. Apple Cider Vinegar is sacred shit."

EC: You are right! Sorry, reviewed too fast...

06/02/2009: ROBERT HENRY from TEN MILE, TN replies: "I go to an anti- aging doctor, and she does not know that MSM is derived from DMSO my mixing it with Hydrogen Peroxide. Dr Mercola does not know that ACV is Malic acid and not acetic acid. Friends and neighbors, we can't trust any of these BS artists. They just slickin every thing for our appitite. They are like a car sales man they don't know crap about a car. They just sell them. Been with money managers for the last 14 years. They don't know crap either and that is the reason I'm now doing my investments myself. If Dr Mercola does not know that ACV is malic acid, he is a fraud."
06/03/2009: R from South Florida, FL, USA replies: "I have been using Apple Cider Vinegar for a few months for GERD and weight reduction. After reading Dr. Mercola's report on ACV, I checked my blood glucose level from my recent lab report. I went from 97 to 62! My husband's has remained in the 80s. I read on the internet that levels below 70 are hypoglycemic. I have lost 21 lbs while on ACV and eliminated sugars from my diet. Has anyone else experienced this? I eat plenty of fruit. Thank you."
06/03/2009: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "According to Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malic_Acid), seems malic acid is what gives the green apple its tart taste but the malic acid decreases with ripening of the fruits (apples and grapes & probably other fruits). Malic acid winds up being converted to lactic acid.

Wiki definition of ACV (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_cider_vinegar) states that first fermentation of apple juice converts sugars in the apple juice into alcohol. A second fermentation converts the alcohol into acetic acid.

We all might want to find a better method of separating the ones who have our health at heart from the charlatans. Personally, I choose to go with the ones that check out with other sources and the best way to separate the two are by do they recommend remedies you can gather for yourself or are readily obtainable (as Dr. Jonathan Wright does) or do they only recommend herbs, etc. from far east India, South Africa, or China & are they connected to the place selling combinations of those "must be imported from afar" herbs."

11/04/2009: Rachel from Reinholds, Pa replies: "I agree that while Mercola has a lot of good things to say and is helpful in getting Americans to THINK about their health, he has a lot of interest in getting us to buy his things. ie imported herb etc. I am especially interested in helping folks relearn how to use the simple things at hand like apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper and activated charcoal. When we take back the responsibility for our own health we will be in better shape as a nation. Thank you Earth Clinic for your part in this re-education.

I have used ACV for the flu and warts before but I never did much research on it. Two days ago I bought a small book on the benefits of ACV. One paragraph got my attention. It claimed that ACV will lower the blood pressure. I am a good subject to try it on because I have extremely high blood pressure. (200/115) and none of the meds that the doctor has given have lowered it. I do eat a healthy diet and am a master herbalist and have tried ALL the right things and they did not work. I used the ACV - 4 times a day taking 2 Tbls of vinegar in a glass of water. I did not add the honey because I do not need the extra sugar. Today, after only 2 days my B/P is 175/100. That is dramatic since the b/p meds were not even bringing it down. I will try to report in week to tell you if it has continued to lower my b/p. I am hoping that it will.

Thank you all for this helpful information"

[YEA]  08/11/2010: Cindy from Tallahassee, Florida, Usa: "Hello,

This is my very first post on EC so I hope I've posted this in the right place. I'm so happy to find this web site! I started reading about using ACV to treat FMS/CFS right away and I couldn't pull myself away from the computer for the next 3 or 4 hours. I went right out and bought a bottle of organic ACV and began the treatment the next morning. At the same time I got rid of anything in the house that had artificial sweetener or MSG in it. I've been mixing 2 tsp. In 8 oz. of vegetable juice along with a sprinkle of cyanne pepper. I drink this with my morning pills and again before bed. I'm also eating very healthy, balanced meals and drinking lots of distilled water. Results so far - Today's only my 5th. Day so haven't seen any improvement in pain level, but I've lost 3 or 4 lbs. , probably water weight. I'm also eating more healthy. I want to add regular exercise, but I'm going to wait a week as I'm going on a 6 day house sitting job. I'll come back and post an update in a week or so. Thanks you from the bottom of my heart for this web site EC! I plan to spend a lot of time reading and participating on this wonderful site."

07/09/2009: Rob from Manhattan, New York: "interesting... Dr. Weil in earlier notes dismissed the apple cider vinegar fad... today, he posted this...A reminder to all who know something is helping but are discouraged by the experts..keep your strength. (but what I do like about him, ..he is quick to admit he was wrong)

Vinegar May Combat Fat

Maybe the vinegar effect isn't just an old-wives tale. New research from Japan is lending credence to the age-old notion that vinegar can help reduce fat. Investigators put laboratory mice on a high-fat diet and fed them acetic acid, the main component of vinegar. They put another group of mice on the same diet but gave them water. The mice in both groups gained weight but those on the vinegar "diet" put on significantly less body fat (up to 10 percent less) than the other mice. The acetic acid may work by turning on genes for fatty acid oxidation enzymes. These genes produce proteins that can break down fats and therefore suppress body fat accumulation. Research elsewhere indicates that acetic acid also may help control blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Does this mean a vinegar diet will help humans lose weight or prevent them from gaining? That's for another study to determine, but you could try dressing your salads with vinegar and olive oil to see if it helps. The Japanese study was published in the July 8, 2009, issue of the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry."

[YEA]  07/15/2010: Scott H. from Pacific Grove, California, U.s.a. replies: "The first couple of months on ACV I did not notice anything until I was filled in on the new way of taking ACV. First, make sure that you are taking raw, organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with Mother. It's gotta have all that stuff right on the label. Then, get a shot glass (regular 2 ounce size) and fill it with ACV. Pour that into a regular drinking glass. Then fill the glass with apple juice(my preference), or cranberry juice, or grape juice. No acidic juices like orange juice, that gives heartburn. Next drink it as slow or as fast as you like. Do that every morning, seven days a week. I have been doing it for two years and I feel like a rocket all day long. It took about two weeks for the loading phase to finish and about another month for my muscles to catch up with the ACV to where my blood pressure dropped and so did my weight. Ten pounds a month I lost, but I still ate at McD's. I started at 380 and two years later am at 300. I recommend drinking it through a straw to save the enamel on your teeth from the acidity. But, I drank it without a straw the first year with no ill effect. If a full shot glass gives you heart burn then start with a half of a shotglass and move up to a full one in a couple weeks. Remember, it's gotta be 1. Raw 2. Organic 3. Unfiltered 4. With Mother. None of this pasteurized or filtered or clear nonesense, that kills all the important enzymes. The ACV should look cloudy with weird stringy chunks floating in it. Ok, hope that helps. Scott Harriger, Pacific Grove, CA"
01/25/2011: Alisa from Baltimore, Md, Usa replies: "So, if it has mother it will say on the label? I went to Trader Joe's and they only had their brand, which is organic, unfiltered and is cloudy; but, doesn't SAY it has mother."
