04/03/2013: Gramma_elaine from New Brighton, Minnesota, Usa: "I get a bladder infection every time I drink city water. I think it is an allergy to either the chlorine or the fluoride. Try drinking purified water and see if that helps prevent bladder infections. My doctors never would acknowledge this fact and just..."

Goldenseal and Echinachea
[YEA] 03/21/2006: Natili from Montpelier, VT: "[reports that goldenseal and echinachea cured her UTI.]"Replies
[NAY] 08/11/2008: London from Sandusky , Ohio replies: "Goldenseal Tea tastes so gross, and is so bitter. I could not drink it."
Grape Leaf Pickles
[YEA] 10/19/2007: Mary from Winston-Salem, NC: "Forget drinking vinegar, just eat 2 grape leaf pickles. They are very salty and vinegary. You can also take 1 cranberry pill while eating the pickles. Wait 30 minutes before you start drinking lots of water. Preventive also after intercourse. Dial antibacterial soap -- wash privates within 5 minutes after intercourse too is great."
Grapefruit Seed Extract
[YEA] 06/20/2011: Kalina from Honolulu, Hi: "I find Nutribiotic Grapefruit Seed Extract (tablet form) to work on my UTI's. I also use Miracle II Neutralizer Gel to relieve the burning/itching. It will help in the vaginal area, but for maximum effectiveness, use some type of syringe or applicator to get it further up into the vagina. Make sure you wash the applicator well first.
These two work consistently for me."
[YEA] 07/17/2010: Leriejane from Seattle, Wa, Usa: "Grapeseed Extract cured my Urinary Tract Infection
I scheduled a doctor's visit for what I thought was a UTI (frequent urination with discomfort, bloated abdomen, back pain, etc) but they could not see me til the next week. So I bought grapeseed extract capsules and took 2 daily in conjunction with drinking water at every opportunity. (To help flush out any bacteria. )
The day before my appointment, my symptoms had stopped and I was never diagnosed with a UTI, though the doctor said my symptoms matched a UTI diagnosis, and that mine had probably cleared on its own. I didn't mention the grapeseed extract; I was just glad my symptoms were gone. It took about 5 days of grapeseed extract daily."Replies
[YEA] 01/18/2012: Michelle from San Anselmo, Ca replies: "Yes! Isn't it wonderful, and it's so much cheaper than D-Mannose and Doctors! I just posted about it on my blog. So glad to see others have tried it too."
Group B Strep
04/19/2012: Mtngal42 from West Jefferson, North Carolina: "I am desperately searching for a remedy for Group B Strep. I have had colonization and what I believe to be symptoms similar to yeast and Bacterial Vaginosis. I also have had a culture of foul smelling white growth in my belly button that came back as GBS. I seem to have it just about everywhere but, I am mainly concerned with it most recently causing a UTI. I am still having a lot of pain even after taking 10 days worth of amoxicillin. I was desperate. Now I have a yeast infection and Group B Strep UTI. I know I am not the only one out there who deals with the GBS symptoms and doctors don't usually do much unless you are pregnant.
My naturopathic provider doesn't have any answers either. I'm not sure antibiotics is what I ever want to do again anyway... Even in desperation. I know most UTIs are caused by E. Coli and I am already starting to do D-Mannose and for the yeast homemade boric acid suppositories. I turn to EC for most of my ailments but I haven't seen any info about GBS on here. Any and all help would really be appreciated."Replies
04/20/2012: Oscar from Syracuse, New York, Usa replies: "Dear Mtngal42, I had a chronic urinary tract infection no antibiotitics worked for. The urologist I was seeing at the time told me to drink one cup of pure cranberry juice 3 times a day. The cranberry juice cocktails commoly sold have little real cranberry juice. You need the real thing, pure cranberry juice for this to work. Anyway the infection cleared up in about a week or two of this treatment. I had had this infection for years and it was slowly getting worse. The cranberry juice treatment worked for me....Oscar"
07/24/2009: Honeylette from Dublin, Ireland: "8 years ago my son experienced hematuria when he was still 7 years old. The doctors suspected him og having a PAN, a conditon i dont fully understand. His basophils were higher then normal and many more. I combine medical treatment, pranic healing which was effective too and supported him of a fresh herbal tea as his drinking water. He recovered in a year depriving him from eating all prohibited foods and colored drinks. What I want to know if this is recurrent or heriditary as my grand daughter had a UTI at 7 months old. May I know our simple guides to prevent UTI (hematuria) from recurring? I am scared to hear this ailment. thank you"
EC: "In medicine, hematuria, or haematuria, is the presence of red blood cells (erythrocytes) in the urine. It can be a sign that there is a kidney stone or a tumor in the urinary tract (kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, prostate, and urethra), ranging from trivial to lethal. If white blood cells are found in addition to red blood cells, then it is a signal of urinary tract infection." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hematuria
[YEA] 08/05/2012: Leah from Jerusalem, Israel: "During the last year, I've gotten several very painful (with blood also) Urinary Tract Infections - I've never had them in my life before this year.
I have found a GREAT way to prevent them. When I start to get the symptoms, dull pain during urination, totally *clear* urine - I IMMEDIATELY drink a hot glass of red herbal tea - cranberry tea is the best, but any red fruit herbal tea does the job just as well. It's really a race against time because the infection comes on fast, so I always carry the tea bags with me in my purse. I only use 1/2 glass of boiled water so that the tea gets more concentrated and I drink it down as fast as I can. It stops the symptoms right away. Amazing. Hope this helps you also!!
P.S. - This site has *literally* saved my life and I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I really feel the love coming off these pages. You really do care about saving your fellow human beings. May God bless you all with only good things in life!! Shalom from the Holy Land. :)"
[YEA] 11/13/2012: Nicola from Wexford, Ireland: "I tried your remedy of 1 tsp of this pink rock salt in water and it worked and then I forgot to post up my YEA until now! Thank You so much Earth Clinic- I was going to go to the Doctor the next morning because the pain was getting to bad to bear, and I don't do anti-biotics but last time I had a UTI I tried all the other remedies and they made it feel better for a few hours but just wouldn't make it go. Anyway after the salt I woke up and the pain was gone- there was still a funny feeling when I peed, but I knew it was getting better. As I knew that the salt had worked I took another tsp in water that morning as a precaution and to wipe it out- as anyone who has had a UTI knows- you will do anything to relieve the pain- but thank you this time it wasn't antibiotics!! I will use this remedy next time. It was magic- I no longer live in fear of a UTI!! Nicola"
08/21/2011: Sharongg from Greenville, Sc. Usa: "When you start to inhale h2o2 does it kill off bad bacteria that passes through urine that could cause yeast infection or uti?"
[YEA] 03/22/2007: Anne from Littleton, CO: "My doctor told me not only to get up and urinate after intercourse, she suggested I do so in a shower, flushing with plenty of pure after after the fact. This resolved my almost life-long problem of getting UTI's frequently. Until recently. This onset I'm sure was caused by soaking in the bathtub. I had been adding bubble bath or water conditioners when I suddenly got a UTI after being free of them for several years. I knew immediately this was the cause. My recommendation is to shower for a few minutes after soaking in a bath to allow any soaps and bacteria to drain out. Cranberry juice helped the UTI but when the infection moved into my right kidney yesterday, I got really sick - fever, nausea, kidney pain. Not having any remedy available, I asked several friends to get on their knees and pray for me, which they did. This morning I am miraculously cured!"
[YEA] 01/13/2007: Yana from Seattle: "I have had bladder infections ever since I started to have a sex life. I studied a lot of resources on the net and have tried lots of things, and I want to share what works for me best. Ever since I learned that part of the reasons for getting a bladder infection after sex is that some natural bacteria from the anus are transported into the bladder area during sex, then they just get into the bladder really easily. There are 2 things that I always combine and never get a bladder infection. First I urinate within 15 minutes, and then I wash the genitalia very well in the shower to prevent those bacteria from spreading. By doing those things I feel confident that I took care of the prevention of the infection. It works 100% for me. And I am the person who used to get them every week or so."Replies
06/12/2011: Anonymously Modest from Southern, Ca, Usa replies: "What works like a charm for me is to drink water before bedtime, urinate before bedtime, then after intercourse urinate again and drink a half a glass of water. I haven't had a UTI develop in quite a long time.
Also, if I feel the 'twinge' of a UTI despite my bedtime routine, I will either use a cotton ball w/diluted ACV to cleanse, or spritz once with ionic colloidal silver -- this discourages any bacterial to travel. I haven't seen my MD about UTIs in over 3 years; I used to get them regularly."
[YEA] Michael from Peoria Az: "I have used Lugol's internally for years. My wife had a major bladder infection and had 2 bio's performed and all kinds of drugs prescribed including a Dr. stating we were passing a virus thru sex back and forth. I refused to take the chemicals. Finally she wanted to try the Lugol's and within 2 weeks began to walk with no pain. I placed it in the water containers of my 2 dogs. My 3 pound 10 old dog came alive once again. I feel it killed all the worms in her that were bleeding her of energy. I believe in Lugols for everything. I purchase it by the 500ml's and give it away to people who are real ill or sick."
[YEA] 01/12/2009: Mel from Gloucester, UK: "BV and Lemon Juice:
I've suffered with intermittent thrush in my teens and 20's. It would be brought on by:
i) non condom sex with some men. not all.
ii) using soap, bath oils etc.
I switched to pH balanced soap and discoverd that dilute lemon juice poured over my vulva would get rid of any little flare ups. The earlier you catch it (at the first sign of a prickle or an itch) the faster it disappears!
I'm 48 now haven't needed to buy an over the counter remedy for thrush (which I hardly ever get now due to soap avoidance) since I started using dilute lemon juice.
I started HRT about 3 months ago and to my horror my vulva started reeking of fish. Just looked it up and found out about BV.
I'm assuming that this is another "upset pH" problem which causes the wrong type of bacteria to flourish, so I have just started the lemon juice routine to see if it will also deal with BV as well as thrush.
Please try lemon juice (I use Jif diluted with equal water), girls - it might work!
[YEA] 08/14/2007: Linda from Vancouver, Canada: "re: Lemons w/ White Vinegar and Bking Soda -- Right now I actually am starting to get a bladder infection. I'm freaking out because it is SO painful and I dont want to take any antibotics for it. So I came onto this website and tried the lemon wedges. They totally helped me! The pain is going away. I also tried the white vingar and baking soda remedy (boy did that taste aweful!) and it's also working! I am so happy. I'm going to consume both of those remedies at least 2 more times today. Thanks for your help, it's greatly appreciated."
[YEA] 02/04/2007: Jen from Croydon, UK: "Fresh lemon cured my bladder infection! This may help those who find that cranberry juice/tablets don't work. I suffered from bladder infections for many years. I used to have it about every six weeks, and it was often triggered by eating food high in salt, sugar or fat, or drinking alcohol - it was a nightmare, I couldn't even have one glass of wine. I tried antibiotics, cranberry, everything - nothing worked. Sorting out my diet and cutting down wheat and sugar helped a bit, but I would still get the infection several times a year. Until I met a former fellow sufferer who told me to eat lemon wedges - as many as I could bear - next time the symptoms started. I followed her advice and I haven't needed antibiotics since! I still watch my diet but if I "have to" overindulge on food & drink, I have one or two lemons squeezed in a drop of water before going to bed and wake up right as rain. Interestingly, my sister, who is also prone to bladder infections, finds that cranberry works for her whereas lemon doesn't. For me it's the other way around, cranberry didn't do anything but lemon works in an instant. Hope this helps someone!"
