Earth Clinic Guest Author Guidelines

on May 16, 2021| Modified on May 25, 2021

Hi there!

Thanks for your interest in writing a guest article for Earth Clinic.

EarthClinic.com has over 1 million monthly visits, and we're looking for more knowledgeable contributors to join our ranks. If you have exceptional writing skills and would like to share your expertise with our worldwide audience, we'd love to hear from you.

Please take the time to review this entire page, as it will answer any questions you have about what kind of content we're looking for and how the submission process works.

The Basic Guidelines For Every Article We Publish

#1 Rule: The content needs to be great!

Successful guest contributions are exciting and well-researched articles that teach our readers something new about caring for people, pets, or another species.  For example, an article that provides several natural treatments for a particular medical condition is a perfect fit for Earth Clinic.

Pets and Habitats (new!)

Don't forget that Earth Clinic also has a sizeable holistic health section devoted to pets, and we have just launched a habitat section for another 8.7 million species so that you can submit original content for those categories as well!

What We Look For

We look for a few things in every article we publish:

  • Original and high-quality writing. We will not republish anything that's been published elsewhere.
  • We publish articles that reflect the writing style and caring tone of the earthclinic.com site. We aim to be friendly and helpful. Typically we stay away from buzzwords and jargon to make it easier for our worldwide audience, many of whom use Google Translator.
  • We want proper attribution of data, quotations, and outside content referenced in the article. All research should have originated within the last 10 years.
  • Your bio should only contain 1 or 2 links -- either to your website, Twitter handle, or LinkedIn.
  • Your article should contain a minimum of 4 links to research articles from PubMed or the like.
  • The length of your article should be at least 1,000 words and be detailed and unique.

Who Is Our Target Audience?

Our target audience is passionate about health and wellness for people or pets or caring for any of the 8.7 estimated species on earth.

For the most part, our audience is very savvy about natural remedies and has spent considerable time researching treatments to help themselves, their pets, and their families.

What We Won't Accept

There are some things we can't accept:

  • Anything that's been published elsewhere.
  • Recycled content; i.e., an article that has been published on multiple websites with words changed here and there.
  • Anything that may be construed as a link-building scheme.
  • Any article that mentions a company or brand (this is a big no-no on Earth Clinic).
  • Anything that's too promotional for your company or organization.
  • Anything that's offensive or inaccurate.
  • Anything that is overly critical of individuals, healthcare professionals, or companies.

The Not-So-Fine Print

  • Be aware that EarthClinic.com owns the content of anything that is published on our site. We cannot allow you to republish your guest post to your own blog, LinkedIn, Medium, or Inbound.org, etc., afterward. However, you can share the link to your article on Earth Clinic like crazy. For more information, please read our Terms of Service agreement here.
  • Submissions must meet the Earth Clinic editorial team's quality standards to get published. Editors reserve the right to reject contributions at their discretion.
  • We will not accept any articles with spelling or grammar errors so make sure you've proofed it with Grammarly, Microsoft Word, or Hemingway Editor before you submit.
  • The Earth Clinic editorial team reserves the right to edit and adapt your guest blog content as we see fit and update it in the future for accuracy and comprehensiveness.
  • Earth Clinic, LLC reserves the right to include calls-to-action to EarthClinic content, including but not limited to email newsletters, ebooks, and other downloadable content.
  • In rare cases, contributed posts may be removed from the website and URL recycled.

How to Submit An Earth Clinic Guest Blogging Post

Step 1

  • Format your post appropriately.
  • Don't sacrifice depth for the sake of brevity. We don't enforce a strict word count on the blog, but most articles should fall in the 1,000 - 1,800 word range.
  • Focus on clear, in-depth explanations that readers of different health levels can understand and learn from.
  • The best health and wellness article is simple, accessible, and clear.
  • Don't get stuck trying to make a complex sentence structure work when a simple one works better.
  • Take the most direct route to your points, use your natural voice, and avoid unnecessary filler words.
  • Paragraphs should be no more than three to five sentences long and formatted using H2s, H3s, and H4s, when appropriate. Add bulleted lists to help break up dense copy chunks. Numbered lists should be formatted as number + period. Always include a conclusion.
  • When including images, gifs, or screenshots, cite the image source as: "Image source" and hyperlink that text with the page you found the image on.
  • Copy and paste your post into Grammarly, Microsoft Word, or Hemmingway Editor, and run a spell-check.

Step 2

Submit Your Finished Article Here.

  • Formatted subject line: [Tentative Title of Article]
  • Include either your formatted article or a link to your completed post in a Google Document with editing permissions turned on for "anyone with the link." Note: If you're including images, make sure they're compressed and add them into your Google Doc, and provide proper attribution below each image.
  • Include a short author bio, headshot (optional), and any links to your Website, LinkedIn or Twitter accounts that you'd like linked.

If your article meets Earth Clinic's editorial standards and is in alignment with our decades-old mission of caring for the planet, we will respond to let you know your article will be published. That process may take up to 2 weeks and the publish date could exceed this timeline based on the needs of our editorial calendar.

Due to the volume of requests we receive, we cannot respond to all submissions.

Thank you so much for your interest in publishing on Earth Clinic! We look forward to hearing from you!
