Vitamin E

I was very curious to see vitamin E listed as a remedy on your anti-aging page. I feel very strongly that vitamin e is essential for women as they age. I know it helps me with hormonal fluctations and I notice that I have more vitality on the days when I take it. I have taken E off and on for at about 15 years and am now in my early forties. It's been great as a pms remedy and an after-menstrual-cycle-is-over remedy. I was trying to find out good dosages for E and came across an article that Vit E might act as a substitute for estrogen, which is why it is suggested for menopausal symptoms like hot flashes. Has anyone been taking vitamin E for perimenopause or menopause? Thanks.

Caitlin, Could you tell me: How much baking soda you use when you do the hair wash? Do you let the VCO onto your scalp or just your hair? What of the things you are doing is helping your vision!? I am your age and the vision thing is driving me crazy! Thanks so much.

Dear Sirs, I am 58 and could pass for 40. My face is very youthful looking. I have very few wrinkles and have had no blemishes for years. My diet has been make up of as many raw foods as I can. I eat a steady diet of raw organic nuts and seeds. There is a great web site, tierrafarms.com, that I purchase them from. In addition I never wash my face with soap only with warm clean water. I use an oil after shaving called Squalane, oil from sharks I believe. I have for years put on a moistureizing lotion each morning after my morning bath. Hope this can be of help to some of you out there.

I take a number of different natural products to stay healthy.
I'm a grandma in my mid 40s and have the energy to keep up with my 2 year old grandson. People always mistake him as my own.
They also mistake my son for my brother.
My husband and I both drink Goji juice. We've been taking 2-4 ounces 2-3 times a day.
It has helped in several ways. My blood pressure was a little high, at the borderline level. It is now down well within normal.
I've discovered that the flexibility in my neck and legs has improved.
I sleep more soundly (and my dreams are much more colorful and strange, heh).
The best results I've seen however have been in my complexion. It has cleared up a lot of my adult acne and my skin is healthier. I LOOK YOUNGER!
My husband and I often meet couples younger than us ... who believe we are younger than they are.
I have actually been called "Miss" lately!!

Vinegar or Lemon Salt Drink

Lemon and vinegar.. SOUR = HEALTH! I have been reading alot recently about the benefits of herbal/natural cures for everyday ailments. Not because I am sick BUT, rather, because I am almost NEVER sick! I have always been that "rare and weird" child. The one that wanted Olives, Pickles, and Lemons instead of sweets. My family called me the "Sour Baby"! Plus, I have always loved Salt over Sugar.. but, only on sour foods.
Only in the past 5-6 years (I am 28 now), have I really noticed how sickly all of my friends are. While I always seem to stay healthy. This fact was very ODD to me as I am the poorest of all of my friends. I have no health insurance, I RARELY see a doctor, etc, etc.. So, I started to study my diet and saw that I am almost ALWAYS the only person that adores sour foods. I (I know this sounds weird) Love to mix Vinegar and Salt in a shot glass..and drink it in tiny sips all day. The same with Lemon juice and salt. Often, I slice lemon wedges, cover them in salt, and eat them while watching tv. Because of this, my friends think that I am insane but, it's like my candy!? They just giggle about it.
Lately though, now that I have been reading up on my habits, I am the one giggling. I am the one that never gets sick! I have found tons of info that proves my original thoughts on the matter. Sour = Health!
Note: there is a downfall though, My method is high in Sodium. (I can live with that) BUT, all of the acidic foods (Lemons, Tomato, Vinegar, ANY Citrus) are very bad for your teeth IF you brush within 30 minutes of eating or drinking them!! Doing so literally eats the natural enamel off of your teeth. My Dentist scolded me about this!!! So, Brush before you ingest.:) Then, Drink lots of water and make sure to swish around your teeth.

The below info on flax seed oil comes from the Federal Government's Data Base on plants compiled by James Duke, PHD. This is only a small part of information on chemicals in flax & their actions.
I also wrote down some of the chemicals found in flax seed:
acetic acid 3,105 - 3,853 ppm (ACV is 5% actic acid)
alanine - antioxidant, cancer preventative
alpha linoleic acid l08,000 228,000 ppm
magnesium 3,715 -7,002 ppm
tocopherol 57 ppm (Vit E)
tryptophan, lysine, and other amino acids
I can also add that I have taken quite a bit of flax seed oil without any harm or unwanted side effects. Jim Duke's book "The Green Pharmacy" also includes flax seed and flax seed oil.

Flaxseed Oil
Posted by Gem (Brisbane, Queensland, Australia) on 07/30/2009
Flaxseed oil is used to make linolium {lino used as a floor covering} Lino is oxidized linseed oil. Flaxseed/Linseed is a highly volatile oil (oxidises easily). If you must use it, only buy cold pressed oil in a dark bottle and store it in your refrigerator. Throw out any unused linseed oil after 3 weeks. Otherwise you will just be making lino on your blood vessels. The most volatile oil of all, is canola oil. The most stable oil is coconut oil.

Hi Spring, Flaxseed is very high in phytoestrogen even higher than soya 3x, and estrogen dominance leads to a lot of problems in both men & women. Somebody in Canada analyzed the estrogen content of of foods. A lot of pesticides & virtually all plastic contains estrogens so we are are bombarded with estrogens because soya is just about in every product & camouflaged with very fancy names to confuse you.

After reading Dr. Batman's findings and the transcript of his interview, I immediately got into Water Therapy. After I began to drink 2 liters of water a day with about a teaspoon of added crystal sea salt (non refined), I found that on the 3rd day my skin felt soft and supple. I shower in hot water (not warm) on cold mornings and that used to dry my skin to the point of terrible itchiness all over the body including my butts and I either had to satisfy myself (satisfaction = a scratch for every itch) or I hade to apply mosturizing cream all over my body. I could see dry dead cells fall of my chest and abdomen area every time I removed my banian or T-Shirt.
I no longer have any visible dry and/or flaky skin and the skin feels smooth & supple. My butts feel very soft to the touch. My skin now glows and is radiant. I guess I am done with moisturizers (no more of harmful chemicals to be rubbed on my skin). Also, I sleep better at night.

Another alternative to using soy or milk in the Fountain of Youth recipe is hemp milk. I tried this a couple of nights ago and enjoyed it so much that I'd like to share it here. Hemp is high in protein and the EFAs Omega 3 and 6.
In a small pot combine and heat to warm (do not boil):
3 ounces hemp milk
3 ounces water
1 tbl molasses
Stir till molasses melts, and once mixture gets thoroughly heated, sprinkle cinnamon to taste. No extra sweetener is needed.

Dear Valentina, Was very intriqued with your post on earth clinic. How you have remained so young looking and no menopause yet. I think it is wonderful. Could you please tell me what you eat for breakfast? lunch ? (probably your salads {with cottage cheese sometimes}), also what do you eat for dinner? This no grains, rice or beans would be hard, that is my main diet here in mexico but my health is not so good and I am seeking other avenues. Hoping you can find the time to answer.

I am often told that I look much younger than my age. My concern for skin care has led me for many decades to be certain that I get enough protein each day to repair and replenish. It seems to have paid off. I use the formula of one half of ideal weight as the no. of protein grams needed per average day. More protein is needed when ill or under stress. I think it was Adele Davis who wrote on this in the 1960's and I have found it an unfailing formulas for health-the youthful skin is an extra bonus. People say to me "you must have never in your life gone out in the sun" Yet I never avoid the sun purposefully and go about my daily errands with no worries. I do use a light sun screen of course.

Fountain of Youth I'm always being told I look younger than I am or I haven't changed over the years. I just met an old male friend at the funeral of his sister. He looked at me all dreamy eyed and said you haven't changed at all and shook his head. My daughter looked at this guy after he turned around and said, hmmm I can see he cares for you. He heard her and said yes, I still do. I don't think I stopped smiling that day. I know my friend would have to a chuckle out of that one. I moisturize, moisturize, moisturize and keep a very positive attitude. I'm serious if I meet negative people and can't lift them up, baby I'm gone, I don't have any time for negativity. I don't like these two words (I can't) Keep them out of your vocabulary and move on and do the things you want to do. I'm blessed with very good skin, but you can look young even with wrinkles as long as your attitude is vibrant and young. No one will notice the wrinkles, they notice the life in you. Give God all the glory and you will certainly have a wonderful story.
Rhodiola and Vitamin E

I started Rhodiola about a week ago for the "fountain of youth" benefit. When I added the Vitamine E, I experienced severe, nearly arthritic pain in joints and muscles. I have not experienced the improved sleep pattern, either. I plan to stop the herb a few days then restart on lower dosage.

I have been reading a ton of websites for Homemade Shampoo Recipes. Every website or blog had recommended Rosemary. Research Rosemary online and find out all the benefits to it. I am switching from store bought shampoos to homemade baking soda and ACV and will be using the Rosemary oils for my hair. I have dark hair and natural body/curls so I am a little nervous. But I have read a couple of people who have the same type and have had no problem.

yes, I've heard that Rosemary was as good as some of the topical drugs prescribed for hair loss.. also GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) in the form of black currant oil or evening primrose oil can help the skin & hair. Take 500 mg of either twice a day. but be patient. You won't see results for six to eight weeks.

Kittie,
I appreciate your post! It was for the benefit of people like me whose stomach cannot tolerate ACV. I'll put it put it in my pocket for possible use later, remembering your idea of adding a bit of baking soda so it will be gentle on the stomach. Currently, even a very small amount of ACV or lime or lemon with baking soda (1/4 tsp, or maybe less...dont remember) in water makes my Urine Too Alkaline. If someone knows why this happens and what to do about it I'd appreciate the info. Meantime, what I started doing when I'm able is to put diluted ACV on the skin so it can be absorbed that way. After it dries I apply peanut oil to keep ACV from drying the skin. Peanut oil, recomended by Edgar Cayce is the gentlest nicest oil that I have tried for sensitive skin. Also, when I have time, I will Try even a tiny-er amount ACV with a tiny pinch of baking soda... or move on to Other Solutions
Thanks again, Denise

After trying expensive french creams and bio engineered products I've just discovered home remedies on this website and I am grateful for the money savings and the new vitality!
What I use:
3% hydrogen peroxide - this is a great toner, but be careful not to get on your hair/eyebrows as it can lighten your hair color. Otherwise, works wonders on mild acne.
Apple Cider Vinegar - drunk twice a day has helped my energy and complexion. It has also helps me keep lean and slim.
Vitamin E oil - applied to soften rough patches of skin and on hands. Adds a youthful glow and lightens dark spots. Works great.
Last and not least: drink as much water as you can take. Not all at once...throughout the day and with meals.
I am 26 and often get carded when people don't believe I'm over 21. This could work for you too!
