abbreviations -- Great addition to the site, especially for newbies! As long as you're adding abbreviations, why don't you add the commonly abbreviated terms, such as BV, HBP, MRSA, etc.

EC: Great suggestion, thanks Kathy! Medical abbreviations list has been started:

Comments of meaning of words: Magnesium sulfate is - Epson Salts,
Sodium carbonate is - Washing soda, etc, I have a hard time trying to figure out technical names that Ted and others give for products I can relate to. Thank you, Jean

EC: Thanks for the suggestion, Jean! We got Ted to send us something (work in progress), which has just been posted here: Let us know if you had something else in mind.

Really like this wesite. I came across this while searching for homemade sunburn remedies for our horsed. I am delighted with all the dif info that is so helpful. The articles on avc just comfirms other publications I have read on its healing properties. A little paperback (Vermont Medicine) contains info in the use of acv not only for human consumption but for livestock as well. I will be visting this site often in the future.

Website Complaints

I am concerned about the types of advertising seen on earthclinic. I would like to know a little more about who now owns the site, and such. To see ads from proactive and other pharmacuticals gives me the distinct impression that the site is compromised. I have taken to cut and paste a lot of information, as I believe that in the near future the site will be mollified by corporate advertising. There is never a case where this doesn't eventually happen. I am so very sad for this.

EC: Hi David,

We've been running Google ads for the past 5-6 years now and Chitika ads for about a year. We are very grateful for these two ad networks because otherwise Earth Clinic would be too expensive a site to maintain/evolve. Donations, especially now during this recession, are few and far between. In that respect (re advertising), nothing has changed or been "compromised"on the site.

From a response we gave to someone who asked a similar question:

Any company in the world can create a google ad, which then gets triggered on a multitude of websites by certain key words. There are many, many different ads cycling through EC each day, too many to monitor. Also, ads vary by location. We've banned a number of offensive and creepy ads that have shown up on the site but frankly don't have the time/staff/energy to see what's cycling through every five minutes!

In answer to your question about who owns the site, 'tis the same person who has always owned the site, Deirdre Layne. We'll let everyone know if that ever changes.

....and Deirdre is doing one heck of a fine job!

I have a blog that uses Google brings revenue (miniscule in my case) and there is no way to totally monitor the ads.

The keywords trigger the ads...and since Earth Clinic is about HEALTH - it triggers the big pharm. company ads. (They think they are "health" - go figure ;-)

Easy to ignore, and not a big deal.

Thanks for letting me put in my .02

I just want to start by saying that, I LOVE THIS SITE!!! This site is the best!!! So many times it has saved my life... I first discovered this site when I was looking for a natural cure for a sinus infection..... And I found the Neti Pot... Which by the way I had NEVER heard of!!! And I was cured and every since I look up everything on this site... I believe that there is a natural way to solve anything that is wrong with you without taking any type of "man made" pills.... I believe and swear by ACV!!! This is the cure all!!! I have used ACV to lose weight.... I use it to clean my face... I use it when I have a sore throat.... I use it to douche.... And I found out today by taking this wonderful natural product that I cleared up my allergies!! I also use it in the kitchen to clean meat before cooking it... It is the best ever!! I am on this site everyday and I really want to send out Peace and Blessings to everyone on this site for taking the time to help one another with their health issues.... It is a beautiful thing!! I was on the site today looking for my mom who has discovered that she has ulcers.... And I do not think that medication is the only way to go.... I am a 40 year old woman who use to swear by pills when I was young... Now the older I get the more I realize that alot of medications clear up one thing and cause something else to break down.... So I would rather find a natural cure... I will say that the natural cure takes a little longer... But I am never in a rush!! Once again I want to thank everyone on this site for all their wonderful insite and I wish everyone Peace, Health, and Blessings!!! :)

Dear Friends at Earthclinic: (YEA!) This is a Thank You for all your wonderful work. A web site like yours confirms my faith in humanity. I am sure that so many of we readers forget, or take for granted what a wonderful service you provide. It is obvious that what you do is "from the heart", sincerely humanitarian and a blessing to the world. Earthclinic doesn't aggressively solicit for donations or subscriptions, but we, the beneficiaries of your kindness, should make an effort to support and ensure that Earthclinic thrives. I encourage all who read and especially those who have been helped by Earthclinic and Ted, to Please Subscribe and Donate! This world would be much poorer indeed without Earthclinic and Ted! Continued Blessings To You All!
Bill in St. Louis

(NOTE:) Please read the following "Thank You" to Ted. If there is a proper place to post these "Thank You" notes, please do so. Unless you deem otherwise, I would like to (on occasion), throw in a "don't forget to Donate and Subscribe" reminder in my posts.

My Email Reply To Ted:

Ted: What an honor! It is hard to state how wonderful it is to hear directly from you. I hope you are aware how much suffering you have relieved-- worldwide, no less! You are truly a great man, and a genuine Humanitarian! Our world would be much better if only there were more men like you. I follow your prolific body of work through earthlinic, and I wonder, how do you do it? What a tremendous quantity of work you produce! To freely share your knowledge on a web site is a testimony to your moral character, but to take time to answer personal Emails is--hard for me to comprehend! Thank you for sharing your genius with the people of this planet! Is there a "Nobel Prize" for Humanitarianism? If so, I nominate Parhat Sathid (Ted) Napatalung!

EC: Thank you so much for your support, Bill! I will forward your post to Ted.

hi. I just joined this site yesterday, filed out the form with the correct info etc. Its a great site. Really is....... but every time I want to reply to a post, I have to fill out the form all over again? user name? email? city & state? plus subject & also what I wanna say in the post.

Is there an easier way, so I don't have to fill in all the info everytime? thanx, Dave

EC: Hi Dave,

Yes, there is an easier way. Once you become a registered member, you just need to login to Earth Clinic and those form fields will be automatically filled in when you reply to any post or start a new thread.

I was wondering if you had a newsletter and if so, how could I get on the list? I couldn't register.

EC: Hi Yvette, you can sign up for our newsletter here:
Just enter your email address and click "Go".

VOILA EC, you made my day again!! When I went to "Remedies" and clicked apple cider vinegar that page did not come up. Why is that? I just tried it again and it does not come up.

EC: Hi KT, the page you are seeking with ACV recipes is called: How to Drink Apple Cider Vinegar, not Apple Cider Vinegar. It's the 6th link down the list.

Website Questions

I just did my first post on Earth Clinic to Gavin of Manganui, Northland, New Zealand under the thread for Apple cider vinegar for Arthris Remedies. Am I supposed to be able to see my post? I can't seem to find it when I "refreshed". Please advise.

Also would Gavin's reply be sent to my email address? How would I know he has responded?

Thanks very much.

EC: If he responds, you will see it on the Latest Post page.

Website Questions
Posted by A (Ny) on 09/02/2011

My wife thought someone here might be able to answer these questions since she couldn't.

1 Some people here mix the vinegar with molasses. Does the vinegar still work to balance the pH of the body or does it need to be taken alone?

2 We have soem ctiric acid lying around for canning that is two to three years old. Does it have an expiration? How would I know it has gone bad? Sometimes we can't get tons of lemon or limes to make the pH drinks for entire family.

3 I've read Ted say here that he recommends a vegetarian diet and that meat isn't too good for us, except for the amino acids it has. I don't want to depend too much on supplements in case codex alimentarius is true and I can't get my hands on good quality supplements. Do you think it might be wise to supplement with a little local grassfed seafood and meat like the Chinese do (to flavor their dishes) to ensure we don't get a B12 or amino acid deficiencies?

Thanks to anyone who can answer

Regarding the "My Watched Posts" category on "My Account" detail page. How do I watch a post?

EC: Hi Winnie,

Once you have logged into your account, click on the eye in the line of icons below any post you wish to watch/monitor. The thread is automatically added to your "Watched Posts" list.

(Hampshire, Il, Us)

Would be most advantageous to add the option of watching a remedy or ailment as a whole category, in addition to just a specific posts. That way, we could see if anything has been added under the category that we're interested in. Do you think that will be possible in the future? Thanks!

EC: Hi Winnie,

Thanks for the great idea. Not sure it is possible for "My Watched Posts" List, but we are checking with the programmers to see. Will let you know!
