Gut Issues

I have had gut problems for years. (I have an extra-long colon, like twice normal length.) General inflammation, sometimes burning an inch or two below my sternum ( a good remedy for that is pancreatic enzymes), a pointed ache in the gall bladder area (just below right ribs) whenever I ate anything with fat, and a pain in the left lower corner of the abdomen aftter eating. I did an all night castor oil pack and all of these symptoms have disappeared and have not come back.

How do you think the poster from 2007 applied the castor oil pack? Can anyone elaborate?

Probably used a castor oil pack- you can google "how to make a castor oil pack" and there are good descriptions. BE SURE your castor oil is Organic, Cold Pressed, and Hexane Free.

Hazy and Foggy Vision

Castor oil has greatly reduced my hazy/foggy vision due to Sjogren's Syndrome. I had used unfiltered coconut oil for years - which did heal the ocular hypertension & dryness, but did nothing for the h/f vision.

When I switched to Castor oil (hexane-free, organic), a few months ago, I could tell a big difference in that it took care of the dryness as well as the h/f issue!!

I use 1 drop under my upper eyelid & it coats the whole eyeball as it slides down. After a minute, I wipe the access that leaks out. I do this just before bed, and again in the morning - before & after my shower. To remove the heaviness of the oil off my face, I apply a small amount of coconut oil to moisturize. It does take 2-3 min to absorb.

Castor Oil for Heart Palpitations/ Arrythmia

I had been having constant heart palpitations for over a month following an especially stressful time in my life! They would worsen or improve but I was still having them daily and nothing was really helping. Finally in desperation, I made a large castor pack over my heart and mid-chest and upper abdomen, thinking maybe I can clean out that area, get more blood flow, calm my vagus nerve... Well, after an hour, palpitations were 99% gone and I slept peacefully all night (I kept the castor pack on). And didn't return the next day. I will continue using the pack if something comes up again but I'm so happy to have a normal heartbeat again!

Mag phos 12 X or C potency homeopathic great for the heart and negative symptoms. Helps cramps twitches, etc. Magnesium works on the white motor nerves giving them rhythmic harmony as they prolapse and contract.

Watch alcohol as it diminishes magnesium.Note when drunk people have a hard time even walking that's because the alcohol destroyed or used up most of their magnesium so they lose body or muscular control to some degree.

Helps with sugar issues, including cravings.

Can reduce desire for alcohol too. I have seen all of this treating people.

One client said he was getting free drinks on his bday. I proffered mag.phos 3X. He took a dose every 30 minutes. He was the only one to not get drunk. He was amazed. He was replenishing the magnesium the alcoholic drinks were using up!

WARNING!

I've noticed at reading some of the posts that alot of people use heating pads for their ailments. and that's understandable because heating pads are comforting. But PLEASE ask yourself if your ailment could have an infection at it's source otherwise, you could mistakenly SPREAD an infection. I did this with myself, when I should have been using an ice pack to contain the infection. GOD BLESS!!!!

Actually, your body heats up the area on purpose, as many infectious agents don't do well at high temperatures (they don't do well at low temps either, but neither does your own body) A feverish area is good, as it means that your body is doing what it is supposed to. Also, while applying a hot pad may increase inflammation in the short term, in the long term, you will be better for it.

I had severe piles (internal) & haemorrhoids (external). Visit to doctor who gave some creams & advised surgery if the haemorrhoids didnt shrink. Read about castor oil and tried it as last resort as I didn't fancy the idea of surgery. A friend of mine who had piles surgery discovered he couldnt control his bowels well sometime after surgery.

Anyway, what i did was to coat the rear area, especially the inflamed tissues with castor oil twice a day after visiting the bathroom. Amazingly, after a couple of days, the area went back to normal and I did not have to go back to the doctor.

I will try castor oil for other various problems that I read about on earthclinic. Castor oil rocks!

Use Castor Oil to cure hemorrhoid. Make small CASTOR OIL PACK. You can use even cotton ball saturated with Castor Oil. Lie down and apply it to the hemorrhoid. You can walk with it if you have to. It brings very fast relive and swollen hemorrhoid shrinks fast.

Did anybody tried Castor Oil to cure skin or toe nail fungus? It seems that Castor Oil really is one of nature wonders.

We have been using castor oil internally for indigestion and externally for colic in children. I can say that it's effective for these ailments. This is one remedy that we always have at home for emergencies. It's good to know that it has other benefits too!

Editor's Choice If you've ever been hit by a ball or smashed your finger then "Castor Oil" is your best bet. As soon as the hit or smash occurs, saturate the entire area with Castor oil and leave on. Really lay it on! This has been advice that was given by a medical practitioner some 40 yrs. ago and it works. It will also remove blood blisters, take the swelling down and stop the pain. I was hit in the arm muscle with a zinger grounder and immediately applied my Castor oil. It took out the pain and never swelled and where I did not go down my arm far enough it did bruise, but where I applied the Castor oil it did NOT bruise. It's awesome for toddlers who constantly are falling. Apply ice on top of the Castor oil if you wish, but many times it's unavailable and the oil is handy to carry on you in a small bottle.

Internal Use of Castor Oil

Please answer. EVERY bottle of castor oil I see, even cold-pressed, hexane-free, organic, says “External Use Only.” What brand is safe to use internally? And, it just a CYA for the companies? It’s really frustrating that they do that.

I purchased the "food grade" castor oil and gave it to my teen aged daughter for a spring clean out. Even though I put it in a bit of orange juice, I was shocked that she drank it without any fuss. I remember when I had to take it as a child that it was very unpleasant to drink and I put up so much fuss. The dosage I gave her, 2 table spoons, should have had purgative effects on her but nothing happened!!! I was quite surprised so I checked the bottle to make sure I got the right stuff. It was fine and not expired but I noticed the oil was thinner and clearer than I remembered. Also the bottle said tasteless and odourless. I feel like whatever process was done to make the food grade / taseless / odourless castor oil somehow made it much less effective. My parents told me that when they bought castor oil in the past that there wasn't a "food grade " tasteless odourless option. I don't know if that's something new. I'm going to try the cold pressed hexane-free organic one, on myself first, and see if it works and is what I remember from my childhood. Has anyone else experienced the same thing with the new food grade tasteless odourless castor oil? Has anyone recently consumed a cold pressed hexane free organic oil and had good results? t.i.a.

I just read the article and I only saw putting it in the eyes as internal. I don't remember reading about taking it internally. The oil pack, and applying on the skin is what I read. When you put something on the skin it will penetrate and a small percentage will go into the blood stream. In the old days they did give it by the spoonful, and I think they all survived. So, use your judgement, and maybe a little more research?? BTW, I agree the companies are just protecting themselves.

i use castor for so many things, though i work in construction and one day bent my index finger back to quite a painful extent...instantly began to swell to the size of a big toe. i left work briefly and picked up ol'faithful...castor oil. i soaked and wrapped it thouroughly and finished the day of work. as well...i play drums and had three days worth of gigs lined up starting that night...i would simply keep it soaked and wrapped until i had to play and then rewrap when i was done. using this method led my finger to heal quickly, even with the extra abuse i had put it through. great for wrist problems as well.

I jammed my finger hard in a sliding glass door. I was in agony, until I poured enough Castor Oil in a cup in which to soak my finger. I kept it there for a good hour. The pain began to ease immediately and I never got a bruise and never lost my fingernail. The nail was slightly pink and I am sure it would have gone black had I not used the above remedy. I was amazed!

Kidney Disease and Liver Damage

I have always used Castor Oil Packs to strengthen my liver and kidneys. The liver can grow itself back if you take the time to do it.

You get cold pressed castor oil, wool flannel, a heating pad and a piece of plastic - I use a garbage bag. There are sites online that will explain it in details.

I put the castor oil into a sealed container with the wool flannel and shake it up. You want the castor oil to e dripping from it slowly. I then put the container into the microwave for about 15 or 20 seconds - just to get it heated up. I then put a couple of towels onto my bed or couch and lay down on them. Then I take the wool flannel and put it on my stomach. If you are trying to heal the liver, put it a little bit more over your liver, if you are trying to heal the kidneys, put it over that area. Then I put the garbage bag onto th flannel and then the heating pad - all the way on high (or as high as you can handle). Leave it on for at least one hour and meditate on what you are trying to achieve. After you are finished, wipe your self off with a mixture of Baking soda and water,to get your skin back to the proper ph.

Do this for 4-5 days on and then leave off for the remaining days.

There is a good book called Edgar Cayce and the Palma Christi. It tells of all the wonderful things that Castor Oil (the Palma Christi) does!

Knee Pain

Call it what you wish, Voodoo, Witchcraft, "BS", whatever, but it DID work for me.

Having recently torn the cartilage in my left knee, simultaneously diagnosed "with a little arthritis" in the same, and swelling behind the knee. My Sport's Ortho said that the swelling was common with the torn cartilage but should go down in time. I began searching on the Web for a magical pain relief remedy (other than my already supplementation of Glucosamine Sulfate, Chondroitin, Taurine, Collagen, HA, Cats Claw, Bromelain, MSM, etc., etc., etc - .all of which I have been taking for years due to 27 yrs of cycling but at almost 68yo, something had to give).

One subject that kept surfacing on the Searches was an old time remedy of Castor Oil. I'm not in terrible pain, but it is a 24/7 aggravation, as anyone who has similar discomforts can attest to.

I decided to give it a try; purchased a package of ladies' cosmetic, cleansing pads (~3"x4") and a small bottle of Castor Oil (CO), I placed a pad on a saucer, saturated the pad with CO (not dripping) and popped it into the microwave for about 35 secs. I, then placed the (105F) warm pad on my knee; wrapped my knee-pad with plastic wrap (to keep the CO from staining the heating pad) and then applied a heating pad, set to Med. heat. I left it on for about 1 hour and when I removed everything,

I did a "test walk" -not only was my knee not stiff, and the swelling was 95% GONE!! I could walk with 100% less discomfort and this was 10x more effective than the Cortisone or three Hydraluronic Acid injections I had received in a two months period. The other nice thing is that you don't have to throw the saturated pad away; place in a Ziploc bag for the next application and just add a little more CO.

I generally apply this treatment daily, each time the knee feels better - I know it's not going to remedy the situation 100%, but has made my life much better.

Editor's Choice When my husband waited for a call for a liver transplant, we used castor oil packs each night, overnight. And would leave off for 3 or so days each 2 weeks or so. It kept his abdomen from becoming distended until he (months later) was able to have the transplant. I myself use it whenever I have gastrointestinal problems. My daughter in law used them across her abdomen during pregnancy, to keep the baby healthy and to keep from stretch marks. Go to the A.R.E. site if you are interested in learning more about the packs and other remedies from Edgar Cayce's readings.

Contractions would/may possibly start only if Ingested. My sister with 5 kids did this after their due dates with the last 2.

Topically, it's fine. It stimulates the immune system to send T11 healing cells to the area it's placed over.

So, NO problem!!!

Healthy healing, everybody.

  • Castor oil taken internally induces labor. Castor oil packs not on a belly area should be fine.
