I am reading these posts about caster oil and tumeric for tumors in dogs. I am considering treating my dog, but one of the MANY tumors is quite large on her right shoulder. The size of my hand... Like I am holding a grapefruit. I am concerned about caring for something like that if it ruptures...
I SO agree; this is one reason why I use fresh ground, high quality pepper on almost everything I serve as food to my family. Pepper/piperine enhances absorption so much and our foods are already so depleted, anything we can do to increase nutrients is a significant benefit.

Hi my shepherd mix had a fatty tumor on her front leg. It grew quite large and then the skin started to split. I took her to the Vet and he said it would take 3 surgeries and about $2600 to remove but suggested I go home and research some remedies to get it to shrink. I found this site and began applying a turmeric paste to it and then gave her 2 times a day a teaspoon of turmeric and a teaspoon of black strap molasses in some wet food. In about 3 weeks the tumor started to oooze. It was in the evening so I just wrapped it up and let it drain. I brought her to the Vet. After examining it he said it had shrunk considerable and now was only one surgery and less than half the cost. He had me take her home and let it continue to drain. The next day she had her surgery and she is as good as new! It was amazing, I didn't think it was working but it did and it took awhile and yes it was gross when it was draining but certainly worth it.
My dog has a possible sarcoma lump on her armpit. I have mixed castor oil and turmeric and have been applying it topically. Also giving turmeric capsules in food. After a month, the lump is the same size, but oddly the skin around it is red and bloody today. I heard that lumps seem to get worse before getting better, but the lump is the same color, the skin around it is red. I am wondering if the friction of the paste is causing a skin irritation since its in the armpit area. Anybody seen this?

My elder Schnauzer/maltese mix has developed a bulbous growth on the edge of his gum right next to his incisor tooth. My friend recommended trying castor oil on it. Would it be safe and could it help since it's in his mouth? Any suggestions?
Don't know how your pet survived when he could have been licking the castor oil on his fur. It is considered one of the most dangerous toxin to pets according to the ASPCA pet toxin list. Anywhere on the internet you search it is considered a toxin to pets requiring vet care immediately if ingested. I would like to use it on my pet's small tumor if you can convince me it is safe if my pet licks the castor oil when it is on the fur.

Hi..I realize this is old but if you could contact me I would really appreciate hearing about your experience and what worked best for you. Going through the same thing right now..
Turmeric: I have a 13 yr old lab mix that has some fatty tumors as well as something on her right flank and possibly the right one. I took her to a holistic vet for acupuncture as it helped a dog that we had years ago. She said that it could be a tumor but without X-rays she wouldn't know for sure. Maggie has had two bloat surgeries within the last 3 years and I don't wont to take the risk of putting her to sleep again. She is not limping and is still very active and eating well. I have decided to try the turmeric as well as the castor oil. I mixed the turmeric 1/2 tsp, with about a tablespoon of local honey and she licked it right down. I am not sure what to do with the castor oil. Do I make a poultice for her hip or does she ingest it? The vet ran blood work and everything looked pretty good except for her creatinine was a point over normal. The visit was close to 400$ and as with most of the folks here have other pets and limited income. So I am going to give this a try and will keep you posted. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. She eats taste of the wild salmon along with pork meat that I cook, about 2-1/2-3 cups daily. I have her blood test that I can send if it would help with suggestions. Thank you glsmith14
My dog has a large tumor or what I think is a tumor under her ear by her lymph node. It is not visible on the outside of her skin, my question is would the castor oil work for her since it's not visible.
I've applied castor oil to my dogs tumor on the side of her body. My question is, The tumor is now looking VERY scary, ugly, deformed, bleeding, and oozy. What does this mean? Is it breaking down? I try to keep it clean and bandage it, but she usually ends up ripping them off and licking the site. I have stopped the castor oil and try putting neosporin. Sometimes it looks like pus is forming but then it goes away. Any suggestions thanks.

feedback for Melissa from Austin, Tx (4-17-2013)
Her description of her dog's tumor reaction from using castor oil pack treatment reminded me of the description I read of tumors being treated with a product called "Black Ointment". As the tumors are being destroyed and break down, they exhibit All the "symptoms" Melissa was describing! She might want to look up websites on "Black Ointment";some of them have photos of various tumors during treatment, from start to finish. Evidentially the Very nasty-looking "symptoms" should not scare you into stopping treatment;otherwise you halt the Complete elimination of the cancer. Treatment might even cause a fairly deep pit/hole, but this is a good sign, showing that the "root/s" have been destroyed. Hole will fill in from bottom out; just follow the "Black Ointment" treatment directions. (Or complete the castor oil treatments until nastiness stops & then maybe use aloe vera gel to help new skin growth).
Best Wishes & Blessings to You and your Furry Angel!!!
I used black salve on my dog from herb healers. It definitely was a messy process but it removed a large tumor. Unfortunately later on another tumor even larger grew in its place. I didn't feel like dealing with the bloody mess as she'd rub her back on my area rugs and get blood all over. But it shrank the tumor like onion layers. I've used it on myself multiple times. I'm going first to try castor oil to see if it's less messy. Herb healers said this current tumor is too big to treat with BS but recommended iodine. That was extremely messy as it stained everything.

My sweet 9 year old Vizsla dog was just diagnosed with an aggressive glial cell brain tumor located in his occipital lobe. He had 5 siezures last wednesday 3/20 and after recovering from those he had an MRI and a spinal tap to determine what was going on. It is not surgically treatable and we can't afford radiation and really don't want to put him though it. We want to find something that will shrink his tumor holistically. He is really strong, and healthy otherwise. I have read about many treatments such as the Budwig diet, frankinsence, DMSO with aloe vera, essiac tea.... He is taking an anti siezure medication and steroids. The neurologist gave him 3 to 6 months to live and we are trying to be as hopeful as we can. I give him reiki about an hour per day and he also gets tong ren. I am looking to change his diet and do anything else that will help! Do you or does anyone have any suggestions? It is scary and any help, insight or suggestions would be amazing! Thank you!!!!
Google food grade hydrogen peroxide therapy. I use it and it works, it's easy, it's cheap and it's worth a try. There is tons of info about it on-line, good for both humans and animals. Good luck.
I realize this is old.. but I was very curious as to the suggestions u made of the black seed oil & the apple cider vinegar if possible please reply. It would be really appreciated
Currently using turmeric with cayenne pepper mixed with food to hopefully heal a mass. Actually got the idea here. Also came across the idea of using black cumin seed oil as it has so many positive benefits. Was wondering if anyone knew about any dangers of combining the two as they are both in the cumin family & I don't want the combination to result in overdose or overuse. I do add a little organic apple cider vinegar to her water..just a few drops and other then that she takes her regular vitamins (all natural). I just worry that too many herbs or natural anything can be bad if combined wrong. Also the recommended dosages if combining the two is okay. Going on my second full week using the turmeric & have yet to see any results, or shrinkage..anyone who knows anything possibly going through the same experience please leave a comment all advice is welcome. Thank you.
I would add CBD oil in your regimen to help with the seizures while you are treating the tumor... if cannabis is legal in your state medicinally, I would add the THC/CBD oil so that your baby benefits from the THC working to kill the cancer cells, and the CBD helping to keep the seizures at bay!! Praying!!

Hi Ted, I have a couple of questions. I follow Dr. Christopher's herbal remedies. I have a cat with an abdominal mass, I have been giving her Essiac Tea but she started having diarrhea. What other cures do you recommend?
Hello All: I learned Saturday that my 10 yr old mix (Golden Retriever/Border Collie) has an enlarged liver, masses/nodules on the liver & (1) 2 1/2 cm on on her spleen. Her liver panel came back okay. The vet said an area of her liver is holey/or looks like swiss cheese. The history is, she had a large sarcoma removed from her back leg in Oct 2011 & has done well up until this point. She has very little appetite, weak limbs, panting. But she has good days & bad days.
My challenge is during this past year, my vet is very against anything holistic, "natural remedies", organic, etc.. I had ordered C-Caps from Pet Remedies & my vet said not to give them to her, but I did anyway & within a few months what seemed to be masses were virtually gone & saved her from another surgery. I do have milk thistle/dandelion drops for her now. She is currently on meds from the vet & l/d soft food for a special liver diet.
These website note "to talk to your vet before giving them anything". What do you do when your vet has a history of saying no to anything but what they recommend?? I am at a loss. Chloe has an appt for a biopsy & bile acid test on Wednesday. I am trying to do a bit of research to be prepared. I have also not found a holistic vet in the Toledo, Ohio or surrounding area. Thank you all for reading. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. God Bless you all.... Thank you. Kerri (Oregon, Ohio)
Use the advanced search option to search for vets in Ohio. Once you get the list, you could call some of them and see if they know of any in your area.
I also contacted my own holistic vet here in Columbus, Ohio. While they do not know of any vets right now in Toledo, they let me post their website for you. They also said that you could call them. Here is their site:

Hi Theresa: No results yet about Bailey. I will start the castor oil packs and also the food. Thank you again and I will let you know about her results.
Good morning Theresa. I replied to you yesterday in another conversation. I don't know if you already received it. I told you that vet called me yesterday with bad news. She said that the tumors are malignant. I am devastated and confused. I already started with the castor oil, turmeric and I bought the essiac tea. I don't know what to do. What is the best for her at this moment. The vet wants to remove the tumors. I told her I will call her back. I don't even ask how much it will cost me. I can't afford it. Is the removal necessary? Please help me to do the right thing for Bailey. Thank you thank you. God Bless.

Hi Theresa. I read your response this morning and I went and bought the essiac tea. I am preparing it. I also have done the castor oil packs. I couldn't find chaga , but I need to go to another store tomorrow. What is your opinion on the surgery. I don't understand the fact that bailey is fine , she is happy, eating good. running happy as never before. Could this be happenning to her? Thank you for all you do,
Good morning Theresa. Some updates about Bailey. The vet took a chest x-ray yesterday and the good news is that it doesn't have spread. She said that she will consult with a pet oncologist to see what is Bailey's prognosis. she insisted in removing those cysts to avoid spreading . I also read your opinion about it. I am very confused at this moment I don't know what is the best for her. Remove or not remove them. She gave her Free and Easy Wanderer and Mammary PMG. I am also giving her the essiac tea, and the CC with flax seed oil and putting castor oil with turmeric on her tumors. The are real small. I know I need patience. Please Theresa help me to make a decision . Thank you again.
Hi Theresa . I forgot to mention that the vet said that she would use local anesthesia. Does it make any difference on Baileys skin reaction to it?. Thank you

How is coconut oil administered to cats. What is dosage? Did (grey & black tabby 13 yrs. he has mass under tongue (vet doesn't know if it's cancer or benign. He's always been active mostly outdoor cat. He is now having difficulty eating. What would. Dosage administered be and how?
Did you treat your cat with coconut oil? My cat has throat tumor. looking for more remedies to add to DMSO, Colloidal silver, bloodroot and artemisinin. Just found out yesterday it was a tumor and it needs to shrink soon so she can eat and breathe normally so far breathing is OK but we have to shrink this thing for her to eat. We put a feeding tube in, so I can get any supplements into her easily now as well as food of my choice (lots of raw organ meat, and organic raw meats). Thank you!
Is the coconut oil used internally or externally and how much would you use.
I have a Snoodle-part Snauzer and part miniature poodle 15 pounds.
Thanks, Marie
Wanting to know how many parts hydrogen peroxide to how many parts DMSO? My cat has a large tumor on his shoulder & one on underside of front paw. I love him dearly & just ordered some food grade hydrogen peroxide from Amazon. This sounds like a winning combo as the peroxide brings oxygen to the tumor. Cancer cells thrive in low oxygen.
I'm sorry to sound unkind but NO ONE should ignore a pet eating something as large and unusual as a corn cob!! PLEASE do not avoid a vet in that kind of situation! Causing your dog to try and vomit it up could cause an esophageal tear or have it get stuck in the esophagus or throat He probably needed an endoscopy or surgery.. my Goodness please people, don't use these methods for something as serious as this . YES you probably ruptured your dog's tumor 😞😞😞 I am not a Vet, but am a registered nurse and sometimes people and pets need professional help.

My 11 year old cocker poo has a rock hard fatty tumor on her chest, under her pectoral muscles and pressing on her shoulder joint. Vet says to wait because surgery in that particular location is terribly difficult. She's a therapy dog and so special to me and others and I hate to see her in this much pain. I ordered a lot of the items suggested here, such as essiac tea concentrate, shark cartilage, alkalinity drops, castor oil etc but I can't figure out how you are applying the castor oil. Are you shaving the location first or just pasting this mess onto their fur? How do you bandage this location over the fur? Do you then give them a bath everyday to keep the rugs, furniture clean? Will the castor oil be able to reach this tumor, under her pectoral muscle? Thanks for any help provided.

I too would like to know if castor oil is only applied to growths, both fatty, and cancerous, which are on the OUTSIDE of the skin, or at least partially exposed, so they can safely leak outside of the body.
My little 13 lbs dog has developed some sort of cyst/tumor on her hind leg where she bends it. She can't have surgery because of her age. I read some place that colloidal silver might decrease it. Any suggestions will be appreciated

I have a goffin cockatoo that has a small tumor on the inside of his leg. I don't have any avian vets in my area. None within 2000 miles, so I do my best to care for my babies. I love them with all my heart. Two of them mutilate (both males). The one with the tumor, I have been heating the castor oil and putting it on his leg, then wrapping with gauze and leaving overnight.
I read about how it helps dogs, but will it help shrink the tumor in my parrot's leg? I know it bothers him and I give him natural pain killers. He mutilates that same leg. The tumor showed up about two weeks ago and I started the castor oil about 1 week ago. I sure could use some help with any suggestions.

I have two standard dachshunds that each have marble-sized fatty tumors on their lower necks (at the top of each front leg) Both dogs are approx 10 years old and overweight.
I am going to start a 'castor oil pack therapy' on them. Each has a different, separate condition that might also respond well to the packs. One (Jeau) has chronic pancreatitis, high liver enzymes, and a 'sludgey gall bladder'. The other (Linus) has intestinal adhesions from surgery and develops blockages that are painful. I will update in two weeks!
I also have a 13 year old bald dachshund (Telly) that gets warts that need surgical removal. They start out flesh -colored (he's considered a 'blue', so his skin is dark grey) but then they change to light pink and then dark pink. And they grow. I am going to dab some castor oil on these growths each day. He has approx 6 warts right now in varying degrees of needing removal. Will also update his condition in two weeks! (he's also paralyzed and gets frequent UTI's... Will castor oil help with this??)
Was just reading your post with interest as I have a tiny 5 lb. dog who is partially bald and is developing several warts or some type of growth that grow quickly. One of them is ulcerated and he licks the growth a lot how are your dogs doing and did your treatment you tried work? I hope that your little ones are doing well.

Our 6 yr old lab has had elevated liver enzymes for a few years now, not exhibiting many symptoms yet, also the vet has already tried the "drugs" with no improvement. After we had her just yesterday to get her teeth cleaned and she still is not herself yet, this is the last time she's going under anesthesia, unless an emergency. I came back to my tried and true Earth Clinic for help. After reading all the stories about the milk thistle and the chloraphyll, I took myself down to the local health food store and bought both. We also have a 3 yr old lab mix so he's getting it too. Shoot, my liver enzymes are usually elevated so I'm going to use it too! They love it just straight out of the bowl! I got the chloraphyll in Apple flavor and both of them lapped it up! Neneh also has some fatty tumors showing up the last year and I'll be watching them too. Her sister is 18 months older and is overweight (they feed people food! ) and also has quite a few smaller fatty tumors. I'm going to tell them about this too, they never take her to the vet except to get shots. I'll come back and give an update in a month. Thanks to everyone that posted!

My Bichon/Poodle was recently diagnosed with having the same high enzyme production in his liver and vets can't figure out why. They want to give him Pepcid AC to calm his stomach upset in the emergency clinic, but the doctor is also giving him a milk thistle derivative. Can you tell me if it worked on your dogs and details of your treatment?? Thanks!

I never could get any answer for my beautiful cat, Jordan, and the horrible tumor in his mouth, but am now dealing with a kitty with a large nodular mass on his neck & have been giving him bloodroot pills tho unclear about dosage & don't think I have seen any change. In ordering another product for one of my cats on the site Plant Cures, I notice there is what I believe is more common sense use & application of bloodroot.
This is a quote from the web doc, who I personally have had wonderful help for cats with bladder issues re bloodroot- "Everyone now thinks that Bloodroot is caustic and can "burn off healthy skin" just because of the association of bloodroot with the highly caustic chloride of zinc that is in these salves! Chloride of zinc is, in fact, what is in dry cell batteries and it is simply hydrochloric acid soaked zinc powder. Please wake up people!"
I believe the man has something there! I am thinking of trying his drops on my baby's tumor and still giving him bloodroot capsules.
Posted by Rose (Chiang Mai, Thailand) on 11/10/2014
The scary stuff about zinc chloride is quite unfounded. It is a caustic but the safest one to use, and has pH 5.5 - not so far from neutral. Medically, it's injected directly into the bloodstream for zinc deficiency and for parenteral feeding. It's in baby food, cosmetics, livestock feed. Dr Mohs stated it was the best caustic for bloodroot salves because it does not effect normal tissue. Without its use, he would have achieved no fame. Dermatologists still use his paste today for skin cancers. (Though they still cut the tumor out before the immune system can push it out). It's basically the same stuff that Weldon Fells and Harry Hoxsey used. And it's what I used, too, to remove a melanoma. Pictures at natural black salve dot com

Hi Jordan's Mom. There is a supplement from Nature's Sunshine Products called BPX. I don't know of any pet owners who have tried it but I do have customers who've used it with really good results. I'm not sure what dose to recommend without knowing your cats weight. I also suggest not feeding commercial food but if you do make sure it is completely grain, corn, wheat and soy free. Also milk thistle extract should be added. I get it for my dogs who have seizure conditions that can only be managed with Phenobarbital and Kepra. I put them on milk thistle as soon as I had to start the medications. Phenobarbital is a drug that doesn't just cause liver damage it will cause damage. My little George and Tina have been on this over three years and their every blood work they've had even as recent as two months ago show perfect liver function. Milk thistle not only protects the liver it also promotes new cell growth in the liver and kidneys. I've often seen conditions like this in humans and one thing in almost all shown in blood work is abnormal liver function. Worth a shot at any rate.
This sounds like what is happening with my rat terrier. I've started giving him turmeric for the mass on his front wrist. It's getting larger and larger, more pink under the fur. Do you think it will soon 'break open'? He's been chewing on it a lot lately, too.
Hi I have a 14yr old dog who has a tennis ball sized tumour lump on his front leg. I have been doing the turmeric and castor oil pack treatment for a week and tonight it has started bleeding profusely. I have doused in cayenne pepper and rewrapped with a bandage. It seems to have settled a little but is this normal. And how much is too much blood before it become life threatening? Has any one in here experienced this?
My dog had what I'm assuming was a sebaceous cyst about the size of a golf ball on his back. It burst but it keeps filling up over and over again. Clear fluid with a little blood is what is coming out of the cyst. I've tried castor oil, hydrogen peroxide, iodine, apple cider vinegar and a healing salve. It heals nicely but then fills up again and I drain it so it's never really healed completely. Any ideas on what to do?
Can you explain what is Bicarbonate and how you used it? My dog has soft tissue mass on front elbow and I am trying different things. Essential oils not really helping. Can you share the name of herbalist? THanks.
Sounds like a mass on elbow could be a hygroma. Can get as large as softball & from trauma- dog on hard surface hitting elbow bone (or sometime pelvis on hip w hard surface) Fills w fluid from trauma. See a lot in large breed dogs that plop down on concrete or hardwood floors Most vets will suggest NOT draining the fluid Possibility infection Make dog lie on dog bed or soft surface Warm compresses to reduce fluid buildup Massage Could take weeks for body to reabsorb fluids once trauma to elbow stops It is not a cyst or tumor Think they sell elbow pads online?? But just need to stop lying & plopping on a hard surface.
Check out hygroma online. See it a lot in Irish Wolfhounds.
Need Help Please: My sweet pup has a Nasal Tumor that has taken over her left eye, is protruding, but not broken through her skin yet and is also in the middle of her nose and the top of her head. I have been putting a Chinese Herb topically with vitamin E on it & it is now "suddenly" getting larger VERY QUICKLY. Last night I put Castor Oil on it & she seemed more uncomfortable.... Yet I realize that the tumor, as most write, gets larger before it goes away. She also is taking Herbs internally & just recently started on an NSAID.. Only giving her 1/2 dose prescribed. Question: Should I continue with both the Chinese Herb & vitamin E TOPICALLY during the day & alternate w/ CASTOR OIL.. Using it as well during the day & leaving it on all night? Or does that seem too much?
My goal is to get rid of the tumor asap w/out hurting my pup. Obviously Cancer hurts. Feedback from all dealing with a similar situation/Nasal Tumor or "who have had current success" using Castor Oil or? would be so very very greatly appreciated. Thank you to all who respond as I am scared. Also, please tell me how long it took to get the tumor to go away, did it bleed/ooze/get infected & if you gave anything natural to your pup for pain? Thank you again. My email: [email protected]
P. S. At her last Vet visit after being on the Herbs for only four weeks, the tumor shrunk! It did not grow or stay the same which was a true miracle. But as I wrote above, I can see I have very recently made it much larger from what I am putting on the eye & tumor topically. Is this the STORM BEFORE THE EXIT OF THE HORRIBLE TUMOR?

Is your dog better? I have a dog with the same condition and I'm treating her nasal tumour with homeopathic Hekla Lava 6x given 2ce a week. Other than discomfort breathing (mucus blocks the passage) she's eating well and active. Hekla lava seems to help with the mucus and with a bony growth on her right hindleg - but I can't see any improvement otherwise.

After two weeks on Budwig Flax oil and cottage cheese... I can feel that the lump that was the largest and hardest over the left rib of my jack russell has gotten flatter, still hard. My husband, who didn't know I was doing anything special, was playing with him and said, Hey, I think Micks lump is smaller. I have been mixing 1T flax oil with 3T 1% fat cottage cheese with an immersion blender and feeding half in am and half in pm. He is on a special diet for urate stones. I will continue to give updates.

Please please try the spice turmeric. Check the pages here for it that's where I learned about it many months ago my dog had a growth and I couldn't afford treatment, I posted about how it shrank within weeks, I put turmeric in his food (it's good for people too and they are now experimenting with it for cancer cures for humans) please read the turmeric postings on earthclinic! I posted about my golden retriever Zeus. Also google it on the internet! It's an Indian spice, it's not uncommon but it ain't basil or oregano, so if you can't find it in your town order it overnight from a good spice site - a nice big bag - it's not too expensive. You should feed it to him in his food twice a day, mix in with a little water or wet food so he'll it - use a level teaspoon full each meal. Also apply externally like a paste to the tumor. This should not give him upset stomach - my dog has super sensitive stomach but this didn't bother him a bit. In fact turmeric is antidiarrheal - read what the humans used it for here too. Great for pets and people and safe, though I think it makes my dog smell funny but who cares? I believe this may really help you and it can't hurt because it's not dangerous. I gave it to my dog and I take it too.
But please read up on it thouroughly first. It contains curcurmin, a super food, a super spice. Very good stuff. I have a bag of it. My dog's big round growth of an inch shrank away and within maybe 5 or 6 weeks was a couple of millimeters only!
Please read the pet postings on turmeric and search the web for the latest scientific findings on it! Good luck to Mollybirdie, my prayers are with you! Eva

I wrote about my 17 year old Shih Tzu and castor oil shrinking her tumor. Molly from Texas wrote sounding desperate like I felt. I just want to say that as hard as it is try to be patient because this didn't work overnight. I'm on week 7, the large bloody one is completely gone and the small one is slowly shrinking and the large one in the wrist is smaller. You asked about what I did when the tumor burst. I continued to put the castor oil on and wrap it. If you read other cures using castor oil they refer to a castor oil wrap. That is what I used. Apply the castor oil, wrap it in cotton and secure with tape. Then bandage with a self adhesive bandage found in pet stores. One thing to be very careful of is if the tumor does burst then there is a good chance it could become infected and your Molly would need antibiotics. I should note that my Mollie is 10 lbs and I have been giving her a tsp. of flax seed oil, and 1/8 tsp of tumeric once a day. Hang in there.
I know this post is late but I thought I could share some research I have been doing. I have an older boxer who had a tumor in his left leg, my husband & I were talked into getting Care Credit and after a $1500 vet bill another one grew back a year later. The vet told us that our dog should have chemo therapy but I did not want to put him through that. I have since given him natural supplements and tried various homeopathic remedies to keep him healthy. Overall, he still has a great energy level but the tumor has gotten larger. It is the size of a baseball at this point. He does not seem to be in pain and from what we have been told it is benign. I stumbled upon a great site that gave some of the following helpful advice that I would like to share: (since i cannot post the link, here is the info)
Homeopathic Treatments:
Homeopathy views the symptoms of disease as signs of an underlying imbalance that must be corrected if your dog is to recover. Because they treat underlying conditions and not just the fatty tumor, homeopathic remedies take time to work. A homeopathic vet will choose which remedies to apply to your dog based on the dog's individual symptoms.
Dr. Jill Elliot, DVM, recommends treating your dog's fatty tumor with the homeopathic remedy Thuja 30C, administered at least once as an oral dose of three tablets. If your pet's overall condition appears to improve in the three weeks to month after the first dose, she advises a second dose and further observation to notice if the tumors are shrinking.
Dr. Elliott mentions that many holistic vets believe fatty tumors may result from over-vaccination. Thuja is commonly used to treat dogs that react badly to vaccines. Dr. Messonier adds Viscum Album and Arsenicum Album to the list of homeopathic remedies.
Herbal treatments: Dr. Messonier also suggests a variety of immune system-strengthening herbs to treat dog tumors of all types. Among them are alfalfa, burdock, dandelion root, garlic, goldenseal and milk thistle. He also recommends using immune-strengthening mushrooms, including reishi.
Considerations Get guidance from a homeopathic vet before attempting to treat your dog's fatty tumors with homeopathic or herbal remedies. Locate a certified homeopathic vet in your area at the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy website (see References).
I am going to try a homeopathic treatment system this week and I will post again regarding the measurements, reaction and treatments I felt most helpful for our big guy, Sampson.
Thank you so much for your research. I look forward to your observations. My dog also has a fatty tumor(2) actually. I have had them operated on before but they have come back. Am going to clean his liver with the Essiac tea and then think about homeopathy. Best of luck with your dog. Mary

Hi my Labrador has this huge growth on his side that has started bleeding. We started applying castor oil about 4 days ago. It's gone down but has burst and is now quite open. More than pus is starting to come out of it. Is this supposed to happen? Also what did you do after putting castor oil on? Thanks, John
I have an English Bulldog she's 9 year's old and I am going to try the castor oil cause I have tried everything and nothing has worked, praying this works.

Does castor oil burn if put on the cats open wound? Is it ok for her to lick it. My cat had surgery 2 yrs ago and had her uterus and mammary gland removed. After 2 yrs, there was an external growth which then opened and started bleeding. The vet told me to keep it covered and put sofradex to stop the itching and said it would dry. It seems to have become flatter and wider abt 1/2 inch dia and is very slow to heal. Looks like its bigger. I dont want to put her through surgery again. Will castor oil help? Will it hurt her?
Would you know what kind of reactions I can expect once I start applying castor oil. I hear that the wound increases in size and then bursts, if so, how many days would this take. Should I continue the oil even after the wound bursts if it does?
Finding it hard to write my own post. Please I am in need of desperate help for my cat. He is around 9. I have written on here before. My boy was diagnosed with lymphoma back in Nov 2016. After being misdiagnosed with an URI I started him on Essiac tea after a while was pretty good and his coat looks the best it has ever been.
Anyway 3 days ago his right third eyelid covered most of his eye and he went back to being lethargic and not eating. Took him to a vet and he is on antibiotics. She said it maybe a cyst behind the eye or a tumor. Also I may have to get his eye removed if it doesn't respond.
One I really do not want that and two after $1700 for the other treatment it's too much of a strain.
What can I do? If I do castor oil will it grow the tumor/cyst and then his eye pop out. I'm terrified of what can happen.
I've come home to give him his antibiotics and he is hiding. This scares me as it is what happened to my 8yr old soul kitty and I lost her to cancer.
my dog has a large cyst o tumor on his right back and it has a blood so I think the tumor is ready to burst .. this is the first time to experience this and I cant afford to bring my dog at vet bcoz I am student only .. so please tell me what to do when it burst :( im begging you I want to help my dog .. his suffering :( if the tumor is already burst should I put some castor oil? or what will I do to stop it from bursting or helping it to make small? :( please help me
Hi, keep a very close eye on if you if you think it is about to burst.Don't walk him in any wooded areas.
He may not want to walk far if he is in pain.
The main thing is, if it bursts you have to prevent any further infection. Go to your local health shop and buy some colloidial silver. This can be used for cleaning and healing. Also, get some manuka honey. This is brilliant for healing wounds. You also, need to get some dressings. That are sterile. You need some gauze and some self attaching bandages. And some sterile cotton wool for cleaning. Do NOT try to burst it yourself. Get plenty of dressings. And start doing it now. The pressure may help it to burst. I know you are on a tight budget. But, if it gets infected, you will have to go to the vet. so, you clean it, then apply the manuka honey. (It must be the Manuka type). And then dress it with the gauze. And the bandage. You can now buy the type that doesn't taste nice! He mustn't be allowed to chew it. It may be best to get a cheap Elizabethan collar.
Get some organic flax seeds (whole) from the bulk section, about a pound. Get some cheat new ladies knee high pantyhose, two pair. Prepare the flax, about 4 tbsp by grinding it in a clean coffee grinder until the seeds are opened. boil a cup of water. Put flax into foot of pantyhose, and make two knots . Cut between knots so you can use the leftover hose for another poultice. Put poultice into hot water for five minutes to hydrate it. Apply to area, be sure it is not too hot. Bandage over it so it can draw out anything from the mass. Change twice a day with new poultice. Three day minimum, in a row. If mass emerges, carefully clean area with diluted apple cider vinegar on a washcloth. The Apple Cider Vinegar will acidify the skin and restore balance. Healing should begin and show closure in a few days. If not healing or increasing heat or signs of infection, seek vet help. This old fashioned medicine works. Good luck.
My cat Clyde has a growth on his back paw pad it is getting larger and it is pink and closed no opening, on the same foot now he has developed the same looking growth in a cluster of 3 a little higher up. Will the castor oil work on cats and does it have to be covered? Just don't know if I should apply it to a closed growth and it opens it up and it gets worse. Please help us. He is the love of my life.
My wife's cat, Piglet (Apple of her eye), had his left hind leg removed b/c of the tumor there, couldn't get margins on it etc., and then it started back again on the spot where his leg used to be. He wouldn't stop licking it wide open, so we've just had him wearing the old Cone of Shame. They get used to it after awhile, and we take it off him every day or so for awhile so he can bathe himself (under our strict supervision so we can keep him from licking the tumor). You'll want to brush your cat a lot though, since they can't do it for themselves anytime they like with the cone on, and of course lots of scritches and petting around the neck/head where he can't reach anymore.
