Olbas oil prevents sinus infections. I used to get sinus infections all the time due to perfumes in the office I work in but since using the inhalant, I haven't had one. It's made up of essential oils of peppermint, eucalyptus, cajeput, wintergreen, juniper and clove.

How many drops of each oil do you use and what is the carrier oil used?

Hi Valeria - Since that was an old post (2007), the person may not respond. Olbas actually has an inhalant that you can get at any health food store that sells Olbas oil. It's very similar in style to the Vicks inhalant (it's a little tube with an opening that you put up one nostril and breathe deeply) - except Olbas has a different blend of oils (more natural). If you can't find it, you can also put a couple of drops of Olbas oil on a piece of tissue, cup it around your nose and breathe deeply (I do this sometimes when I fly to avoid congestion). Good luck! Eucalyptus Oil

I used to get a sinus infection with every cold I got. then I would take an antibiotic and it would go away. for the last 3 years, I have taken 2 drops of essential oil of eucalyptus directly on my tongue at the first sign of a cold. As a result, I have not had the sore throat and stuffy nose that usually came with my colds AND they have not turned into an infection. I haven't had any antibiotics in 3 years. I recommended this to my sister in law who suffered from the same ailments and she swears by it too.

AFTER USING TOMATO JUICE WITH GARLIC AND LIME, I FEEL VERY GOOD AND ALSO WHILE SLEEPING. I USED TO CLEAN MY NOISE WITH SALT WITH WATER. NOW AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS -- NO MORE SINUS.. THANK GOD

I suffered for years with sinus infections. My last sinus infection lasted an entire year. I read a book called: "Your Body's Many Cries for Water" written by a doctor. I began drinking at least 2 liters of water a day, and have not had ANY form of a cold or sinus infection since. An added bonus, I have lost weight without even counting calories.

Stubborn Sinus Infection Remedies

CURING DIFFICULT or STUBBORN SINUS INFECTIONS...

If antibiotics and/or the below-listed home remedies are not curing your sinus infection, you need to take a look at your diet and eliminate all mucus-forming/thickening foods or drinks. Milk, citrus, spicy foods, wheat, cheese, etc. are usually the culprits. Try eliminating them from your diet for a few days.

Then try all of the following:

* Grapefruit Seed Extract -- your sinus infection may disappear after a couple of days of grapefruit seed extract. We like the drops, but be forewarned -- they taste terrible!! Also, never take them on an empty stomach (especially first thing in the morning).

* Drink apple cider vinegar throughout the day in large glasses of water (ACV thins mucus).

* Let the water from a hot shower spray onto your face, especially the forehead and nose. While still in the shower, clear/blow out as much mucus from your sinuses as possible. Do this several times a day.

* Try Oil Pulling, a fabulous remedy from India which alleviates Sinus Congestion within about 10-15 minutes.
