Colloidal Silver

YEAH. I had a full-blown flu virus and could barely move for the aches and pains. After day six, I gave up on OTC medicine and turned to colloidal silver. I had been taking it in 5ml doses morning and evening but it clearly wasn't cutting the mustard. I upped the dose to gargling and swallowing 20ml every 3-4 hours, and bought a colloidal silver in nasal spray form to spray up my nose every hour or so. I also nebulised colloidal silver into my infected lungs for 5 minutes morning and night. It's important to treat nose, throat and lungs (and even ears) with colds and flus. By day 2 it felt noticeably better and by day 3 it was pretty much gone! (Note: It's important to drink lots of water and take a good probiotic when ingesting this much silver.)
Ted's Remedies

Thanks, Ted, for the aspirin suggestion. I had been trying many different remedies for 3 days for my flu (e.g. , ACV/lemon juice/baking soda/cayenne, H2O2, etc. ). Perhaps I kept it from getting worse, but it showed no signs of leaving. Had low-grade fever, headache/sensitive scalp, congestion, cough, aches. Aspirin made a big difference. (I had taken Tylenol before with no change, fyi) I took two 325-mg aspirin after eating last night and had a very bad but productive coughing spell along with a bout of sweating. Had less congestion throughout the night. Slept w/ vaporizer-also good. Took 2 more this morning and had the same thing to a lesser extent -sweating, then slept, then less congestion. Strange that taking aspirin made me sweat, but then I slept and felt better afterwards both times. I know after days of trying too many remedies to list here that it was the aspirin that helped me turn the corner. Now maybe I should go buy some lysine to knock this thing out.
Onion Elixir

My nana always made up this dreaded mixture but to be honest it really does work. The remedy is simple yet effective. You need 4 items; 1 large glass jar with lid ( I use a thoroughly cleaned Yankee Candle jar )
2 large onions
Sugar
1. Roughly chop up the onion and place inside of your glass jar. 2. Pour in enough sugar to cover the onions. 3. Close jar and leave untill a clear liquid is formed at the bottom of the jar. 4. Pinch your nose and enjoy. Continue this for 1-2 days. Please note. You cannot overdose no matter how much you take.
Glucosamine Chondroitin Sulphate

Here's something I have found that has NEVER failed me yet! When I feel something coming on (cold, flu etc) I take 4 capsules of Glucosamine Chondroitin Sulphate (900mg/capsule) EVERY 15 MINUTES (4 capsules each dose) for the first HOUR, then 4 capsules EVERY 30 MINUTES for the next FOUR hours, then 4 capsules/hr until bedtime. I use the ___ brand, but my son used another brand and it worked really well. The next day I am 80% better, and so was he. He was so impressed he now keeps it in his cupboard. I also used it when I had an infected tooth and the dentist said I would need a root canal (take the nerve out and you kill that tooth! ); I took this formula as stated above, and I never had that root canal and I am FINE!! I take one capsule morning and night on a regular basis, and at age 58, am almost as flexible as I was when I was 30! Comes in REAL handy as I play on two tennis teams! -- Granny

I found this home remedy in Vasant Lad's "The Complete Book of Ayurveda Home Remedies". My whole family, including my 4 year old grand-daughter, have benefitted tremendously from this. It has become a "must have" product in everyone's kitchen.
Mix together:
3 parts cinnamon
2 parts powdered dry ginger
and a touch of cardamom powder.
In 1/2 glass warm water, put 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon of this mixture and 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon honey.
Provides immediate relief from cold, flu, cough, congestion.

Ted,
I am so very very thankful for you, I have influenza I was in the ER Sunday night- could not breathe they did take a chest xray and said my lungs looked good other then the blotch on the right lung from the influenza. They tested my blood to make sure of no clots and they gave me oxygen while there and vicodin to take home. However they could not give me anything else because it had already been 5 days. I was taking an antibiotic I had in my cupboard it is for upper respitory and also phemonia, big mistake as it did not help. As I know something that is viral can't be helped by antibiotics. I have been taking at least 8 vitamin D3's well I started that yesterday, boiled some water with ACV in it yesterday and inhaled it into my lungs, and then I also drank some ACV in tepid water. I also been doing Mega vitamin C (well it is called ermergenC) 1000 mg in one glass.
Needless to say I am feeling much better and I have you to thank I wish I could hug you seriously. I felt as though I was dieing, I do not think even my family realizes how serious respitory influenza really is. The only thing is I keep getting the reoccurring headaches I mean I been taking advil for it and wearing sunglasses as the sun or bright lightes make that worse. Gosh I am 38 yrs old and I have never had something that has made me so ill in all my life. If you have any suggestions for the headaches please let me know. And again I thank you so much for caring enough about the human race that you would share the knowledge you have with others to heal from this man-made virus. Hugs from Michigan...
Thank you, Erin
Vitamin C and Vitamin E

You might want to try this remedy; take 3000 mg of Vitamin C along with one 400 I. U. softgel of Vitamin E.
I'm an R.N. And had not heard of this before until a friend of mine in healthcare mentioned a couple of years ago. Apparently Vitamin E has a synergistic effect on Vitamin C. 3000 mg of Vitamin might sound like a lot; but remember C is water soluble, so what your body doesn't use, you'll pee the rest out. Granted Vitamin E is not water soluble, but I only take this concoction when I begin to feel sick. I'll take it as soon as the symptoms begin, then when I go to bed, when I wake up the next morning, and usually one more dose several hours later. I typically don't need to take it more than that as my symptoms disappear and whatever it was that was starting never culminated into a cold or anything else. You can buy Vitamin C where each tablet is 1000 mg; so you only need to take three of them. They're large and granted Vitamin C is kind of bitter, even if they're flavored tablets and the larger ones tend to be more expensive; but I prefer to do that as opposed to taking several of the smaller ones that are a smaller dose per tablet.
Anyone I've mentioned this to by the way, has eventually gotten back with me telling me that this worked for them.
I've only recently returned to nursing full-time as I had been a FT CSI while working PT as an R.N. For 13 years... So I'm still in the process of building up my immunity level. Most people in healthcare, after working full-time for 6 months, will have never been sicker those first 6 months, and then suddenly, it seems you just don't get anything. In the meantime, I'll stick with C & E regimen. It's worked every time without fail so there has to be something to it. I've been using it for about two years now since my friend told me about it.
Thanks for reading, and I hope this works for anyone else who may try it.

Grapefruit seed extract cured the flu
I felt the flu coming on pretty bad on Saturday around 2pm. I knew I needed to take something right away to catch it quickly. I took 15 drops of GSE in 4 oz of orange juice that evening. By then I had a fever and diarrhea. 1/2 hour later I took about 1 tsp. of ACV in 8oz h2o and went to bed at 8pm. I woke up at 2am and 8 with diarrhea, when I woke up at 2pm felt much better! Took another 15 drops GSE in 4 oz OJ and more ACV in h2o. Was symptom free from that time on! Took another round of GSE next morning to be safe!

Flu and Vit. D
Tuesday I woke up with a light fever, chills, sore throat and a cough, I decided to stay and bed and fight with some natural stuff. It hasn't been too long ago that I read about Vit D helping with the FLU so I decided to experiment. I had about a half small bottle of 1000iu's of Vit D3 so I started taking them 1 - every hour. I ran out after about 10 I think. I didn't count them, but anyway. Sometime Wed my fever broke, Thurs, I could tell I was on the mend and by Friday I had my energy back. This was the fastest I have every gotten over the Flu and without taking anything other than the Vit. D3. I recommend you all try it. If I were to have had a full bottle I would have taken the same amount the 2nd day too. At least 5,000 iu's I think would do it.
Hydrogen Peroxide Inhalation Method

I had a similar experience. I had been doing the inhalation method for several months then kind of slowed down on it. Upon slowing down I felt a cold coming on. I have always gotten at least 2 colds a year and they last 10-14 days always. When I felt this cold coming on I started inhaling the peroxide as many as 10-12 times per day 4-6 sprays each time. Within a couple of days it was gone and did not return. I am a believer in this method of killing viruses. Good luck!

I read Ted's post on Earth Clinic that Lysine would help with Flu. My daughter called me and said, Mom Amber (my grand daughter) has the flu what can I do? I had just finished reading Ted's post that taking 1500 mg of lysine every few hours would get rid of the flu. My daughter call me later that evening and said Amber was feeling much better. This made a believer out of her. I plan to keep a bottle of Lysine on hand. Checks Ted's post on flu to get the exam amount of lysine to use. Thanks Earth Clinic and Ted for all your Help!!!!!!

Ginger

Sucking on a .5 sq. inch piece of dried ginger cures my sore throat and other cold/flulike symptoms at their onset. You have to however bear the hotness as much as you can, until the sensation is gone. I have not suffered from a cold or flu for the last 10 years or so. For more aggressive forms, a total water & juice fast for 2 or 3 days straight does the trick for me. My roomate had a bad flu recently, it never touched me. When ending the fast, eat only raw fruits and veggies for a day or so. Notice how the gradual resumption of cooked food lowers your mood and vibration.
Turmeric, Ginger, Black Pepper, Honey

Turmeric: An Indian friend of mine gave me a recipe for sore throat, colds, flu, sinusitis: Take about a teaspoonful of turmeric powder, a teaspoon full of grated fresh ginger (or equivalent of dried ginger powder), a pinch of ground black pepper, honey or sugar to taste, and put it into about half a cup of water and bring to a boil. Then add about half a cup of milk, heat to just below boiling point, and drink the mixture slowly, while hot. I also supplement this treatment by inhaling steam and keeping a hot water bottle on my head, throat or chest. I used to have colds that lasted two weeks; now I can get over them within three days.

After suffering with swollen glands and a scratchy and sore throat for 3 days, I came across this website. I had been using honey in green tea, zinc lozenges, echinachea and Tylonol Extra for pain...
I tried 1/2 cup green tea, 1 tsp. lemon juice (bottled on hand), 1 tsp. honey and 1/8 or 1/4 tsp of cayenne!! It's only been less than 10 minutes and Boy what a difference!! The hotter you can stand the temperature & 'heat' from the cayenna, the better!! Wow!! It works!
