[YEA] 01/15/2008: Linda from Ft Lauderdale, FL, USA: "Here's a suggestion for all those folks who write, "What if I go out to dinner with friends- How can I have my ACV/ Baking Soda or other concoction close to hand? I guess I'll just have to run home!
You can make up a tiny travel kit or "night out" kit.
If you are male, check with your women friends about what they use for travelling with makeup, etc. Tell them what you need to carry and ask for suggestions how- We ladies are quite resourceful with this kind of thing :).
I have travelled with a 1-ounce bottle of ACV and a baby food jar of Baking Soda. It takes up almost no room, and is right there when you need it. You don't have to lug a quart jar of ACV out to dinner with you.
It may work for you to place your small kit in the glove compartment of your car on your way out the door (Maybe not a good idea to leave it in there 24/7), or in a manpurse if you carry one. Or in the pocket of your parka.
Just put enough pre-measured in the container for one or two applications. That alleviates the need for measuring.
There are small, flat liquid and solid containers in the cosmetic department of Walmart, other department stores or beauty supply stores which you can use for things like this.
You can use empty, cleaned baby food jars from the grocery for powders. That's just an example. Stick one of baking soda in your glovebox so thsat it's there when you need it.
It's quite possible to get creative and come up with a tiny little, one-or-two application kit which will meet your specific needs.
Just sit down and work it out once and the problem is solved.
Hope this helps someone-
[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 05/26/2010: Lillian from Chicago, Il: "Have been having severe IBS-D symptoms for the past week and on and off for months--nothing has helped, except sometimes peppermint. Finally decided to give apple cider vinegar a try, since it's so highly thought of. Stirred a tablespoon into a glass of water with a little cinnamon and ground ginger, plus the tiniest drop of honey. Not only was it delicious, but my stomach feels great for the first time today. I hope the good results stay consistent!"
[YEA] 05/02/2006: KEELY from CHINO VALLEY, ARIZONA: "ACV HAS HELPED MY IBS AND ALSO I HAD REALLY DRY SKIN AND MY FACE LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER"
EC: 4 Readers report a CURE!
[YEA] Jessica from San Diego: "ACV cured my sinusitis - caused from living in polluted California. Even better, I had adhesions from having a c-section with the birth of my son. The doctors, over and over, had stated it was Irritated Bowel Syndrome and gave me a pill and sent me home. I was constantly constipated and feeling ickie. I NO LONGER HAVE THESE PROBLEMS..
HERE IS WHAT I DID - they (the adhesions) went away after 1 week.
Every morning - prior to eating anything:
5 glasses of good water
(with the last glass)
1/2 shot (use a shot-glass) of ACV & 1/2 water (in shot glass)
DOWN that shot with the last glass of water. You will never be constipated and as far as sinisitis... takes a while to get use to the taste, but now I like it.. PAIN IS GONE! woooo hoooo"
[YEA] Angela from Oregon: "I started using ACV for my IBS. First thing my husband noticed was how clear my complexion was and my healthy looking rosy cheeks. I lost about 5 pounds in 10 days. I have so much energy I cut way back on caffeine. I mix 2tbls. with cold water and sip with a straw before meals and before I work out. I LOVE this stuff!!!"
[YEA] Karen from Salt Lake City, NV: "Have had years of trouble with irritable bowel syndrome and, more recently, gallbladder problems. Since drinking ACV (even during an attack) I find relief from these conditions and I now have only 1-2 gallbladder attacks per year after only 1 year of ACV. I previously had 1-2 attacks per month and was considering surgery."
[YEA] Brett from Milwaukee, WI: "ACV takes care of my indigestion. I just dilute about a teaspoon in some water and drink. Within 5 minutes, my indigestion is gone."
[YEA] 11/04/2006: Jackie from Kamiah, ID: "If you would like to enjoy the benefits of inhaling ACV while sleeping, you can add a cup or two of ACV to the tank (usually 1 gallon) of a cool-mist vaporizer along with enough water to fill. Then plug it in and set it next to your bed so the vapor flows in your direction. Also, the book Vermont Country Medicine by Dr. D.C. Jarvis offers a wealth of information on benefits of ACV, kelp, etc. It's out of print but you can still find copies. Thank you all for your contributions to this website. It's a treasure."
[YEA] Sherry from Boon, Michigan: "I have a bad bladder condition called Interstitial Cystitis and certain foods I eat cause me to have what is called a "Flare" up. When I take ACV, it relieves my symptoms within a half hour. It is definitely a natural wonder! I would recommend Apple Cider vinegar to anyone that can take it. It's so very good for so many conditions.
I take one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and one tablespoon of honey added to a hot cup of water when I have an interstitial cystitis flare up or an upset stomach. This helps me so very much.."Replies
04/12/2013: Sunny from South Gate, Ca, United States replies: "How have you been doing with the ACV? Any long term improvements cure? I have been wanting to try it, but I was worried because it's a vinegar and I know vinegars burn? Did u find it to "flare you ever"? Thanks!"
04/12/2013: Sunny from South Gate, Ca, United States replies: "FYI baking soda works too :)"
[YEA] 11/13/2007: Lana from Ormond, USA: "Ingesting ACV has long been used for medical treatment and is sometimes very effective.. HOWEVER, one should also take an iodine supplement, such as kelp tablets or kelp extracts while using this therapy. Extended ACV consumption can remove iodine from the body, and can result in thyroid problems. (Salt also causes the same problems which is why commercial salt has added iodine.) I learned all this back in the early 1970's, and have not found this important information on iodine/ACV interaction in any articles or books recently. However I have not covered your entire site. So in case no one has mentioned this yet, it really needs to be addressed."Replies
08/05/2008: Sean from Toronto, Canada replies: "Dear Ted, Firstly, I want to convey my heart felt thanks for the awesome job you have done in posting your tips! God Bless you!!
Could you comment on the ACV's role in affecting Iodine in the body? I started taking ACV + Honey for the last 20 days, and my skin is excessively itchy and resulting in small bumps / rashes on the skin where-ever I scratch. At times, it is so bad I scratch so much that I see blood.
I worry if this is caused by ACV impacting my iodine levels in the body? I am a borderline Hypo thyroid patient and trying the ACV remedy to see if it helps my hair regrow (I have very very thin hair).
Please advise. Thanks!"
08/18/2008: Sean from Toronto, Canada replies: "Just came to know that my itching was due to another problem. An insect bite. Just wanted to post this clarification. I am very happy with ACV and Honey drink and no complaints. Thanks!"
02/22/2010: Safiyya from Philadelphia, Pa: "Hello
I have a question reagrding ACV. My husband has joint pains and we want to try ACV for that.
2 teaspoons of ACV in 8 oz of water 3x a day.
My question :
the 2 tsps of ACV is the whole quantity for 1 day or
2*3 = 6 tsps is the whole quantity of ACV to be taken in the whole day ? Can you please let me know?"
[YEA] Flo Clark : "I've been drinking 3 TBSP. in 2 cups water everyday for 2 years now. My joints don't squeak anymore and I have never been so healthy. I've been informing everyone from my town and they too now drink the same dosage. God Bless organic apple cider vinegar!"
[YEA] 06/21/2008: Stella : "A great way to get the smell out of towels especially micro fiber (Dish towels) is to soak in vinegar overnight then wash. Do this once a month if needed."
[YEA] 09/03/2008: Michael from Clarksville, Indiana: "I have started taking Apple Cider Vinegar two days ago...And I am having a side effect that no one else so far has reported. My sex drive has doubled. As well as my energy has went through the roof. No weight yet but have only been taking it for a couple of days...Will update later..."Replies
09/07/2008: Jerry from Grand Rapids, Michigan replies: "Was wondering how much ACV this person takes in reference to his increased libido. I am currently taking 3-6 tsp each day. I noticed most of the folks here are taking 2-4 tablespoons and am considering increasing my dosage. The ailment I am working on is GERD and it seems to be working well. Thank you for any ideas and suggestions. - Jerry Voltura"
06/26/2011: Esther from Singapore: "Does ACV in pill form work as well as in the liquid form? It sometimes give me a bloated feeling in the stomach after mixing the vinegar with water so am wondering if the pill form is alright as a substitute."
