Raw Fruit and Vegetables   1  0

[YEA]  I have had terrible constipation for as long as I can remember (I am 42). I always thought myself lucky to go a maximum of 4 times per week. I have tried eating more fiber, drank gallons of water, followed blood type diet for a year, exercised, used ACV & EVCO, all with limited success. Well, my "cure" as it turns out was to drastically increase the amount of raw fruits and veggies in my diet. Now you can set your watch by me! I still fully cook ground beef, poultry & fish (except sushi), but I eat a minimum of 3-4 whole fruits and 4-5 raw veggies a day. I've also begun drinking kefir. Give it a try!

Raw Rice   1  0

[YEA]  Age: 22

I feel like I have been constipated my whole life. But when I started eating raw rice for breakfast as part of a parasite purge program, I immediatly began having daily bowel movements. What I do is this: Drink 1 cup of warm water with lemon juice first thing in the morning. After about 20 minutes I eat 1/4 cup of raw rice. I soak the rice in water overnight to make it softer on my teeth. The rice should be chewed until it is liquid and then swallowed. I don't eat anything else until lunch (as part of the program, you are supposed to wait 3 hours so that the rice is the only thing going through you). About an hour after I eat the rice, I have the smoothest, most enjoyable bowel movements.

I think this works because raw rice can not be digested, so it passes right through you, scraping out the crevices of your intestines and pushing waste along.

This will probably work even in the absense of the lemon water, but I have never tried it. The lemon water first and then the raw rice is working great for me so I've never tried it without the lemon water.

**If you eat the rice and then eat other food without giving the rice sufficient time to digest, you will end up bloated with a terrbile stomach ache!

Hi, thanks for your input :) I was wondering if it is ok to drink anything like green tea or coffee or even water after eating the rice and before lunch? Thanks :)

[WARNING!]   "I should warn regarding this. Rice is my staple food. And I come from ethnic background where rice is cultivated vastly and it is the staple diet from morning to evening.

You should not eat raw rice. It will cause Anemia. This what my mother and grand parents will say when we try to eat raw rice in the childhood. We will boil rice until it is cooked and mix it with sambar, rasam, saarus, curd or curries and eat it. The boiled rice is called Anna, Annam, Soru, Saadham in different South Indian Languages.

I will tell another fact: In our farms we don't give raw rice particularly parboiled rice to goat or sheep. If you feed your goat with at least 1 pound of parboiled raw rice and give water to drink. The goat will die the next day, The died goat will have bloated stomach.

Try anything, but with some reference.

I feel for you, it's so uncomfortable! I usually put 2 tsp of Apple cider vinegar with 1/8 tsp baking soda and sweetner in 8 to 10 oz of room temp water or hot water and drink. I also move around hoping to dislodge the gas. If I'm sure it's gas I will buy some ginger root and peel off the outside and shred about a tsp into a pot of boiling water, again 8 to 10 oz let it boil for about 5 min then sip it. I do eat the ginger bits too, It will remove the gas. These do not have to be done exactly this way I'm just telling you what I do.

Juliette. It is possible that you have ingested something (other than food); if so try some capsules of activated Charcoal or Bentonite Clay to help clear the intestines.

Hi Anisa. Probiotics, digestive enzymes, apple cider vinegar. Fermented foods. My likely your gut needs help with digestion. Google youtube and there is heaps of information.

If you just try to add fibre to your diet it won't work because you need the proper bacteria in your gut for it to start working properly.

Hi Anisa ali, I understand your pain with constipation. Honestly I took flaxseed (linseed), fibre supplements, laxatives, vegetable and fruit of every fibrous kind, even prune juice and pear juice. The only thing that ended up helping me was Magnesium. I bought a bottle in the supermarket and never looked back. I only took one a day maybe two sometimes. It also helps with anxiety, it is quite calming for the nervous system. Also you could try a high dose of vit c, maybe 1000mg. Hope this helps. Lily.

1000mg of Vit. C is not a high dose... Maybe by today's standards of 60mg a day but those are quite ridiculous, if you don't mind me saying so!

I've suffered with intermittent constipation for 4 years. For last 10 days Niacianmide 500 mg about 4-6 times per day has produced regularity I've long sought. I hope it continues.

Drinking aloe vera juice and magnisium powder was not effective though the aloe vera juice seems to reduce appetite.

I'm usually completely regular. I'm on vacation in a different time zone - 8 hours difference. I haven't had a bowel movement in 5 days. It feels as though my body simply forgot about bowel movements. I don't feel bloated. It's not that I sit down and can't do the job. It's just not happening every morning as it usually does. Last night I took a Tbsp. of lemon with a tbsp. of olive oil. This morning I took a few tbsp. of lemon with a few of olive oil. Nada. Can anyone help me?

Same exact thing happens to me. When I am on vacation, the bowel movements stay at home! I try different things. I will eat a little yogurt in the morning and a dry piece of toast. Sometimes that does the trick. Drink LOTS of water, don't skimp on that. Also, try taking magnesium powder mixed in a little tiny bit of orange juice, try about 1200 mg per day, divided up into two doses. It's a lot, but it does the trick for me. A little runny, but it's better than none at all. When I get home, all is well again!

I have the same problem whenever I travel. I have several solutions: eat a couple of prunes (not too many), drink a glass of warm water or a cup of tea first thing in the morning, eat some fruit first thing (any fruit works for me), drink a glass of water with molasses and drink enough water! I hope this helps...

To everyone. Ive tried almost all of these remedies. I had a shoulder operation about 5 years ago and it either affected my thyroid or my liver or both. I was doing well until then but have had a lot of trouble with constipation since and nothing works for long. I think I need a serious series of liver and gallbladder cleanses. like one man said in his book: eat all the fiber you want but if the gallbladder isnt functioning properly you will still have constipation.

Sea Salt Cleanse   12  5

Posted by Ricks (Delhi) on 02/21/2014

[SIDE EFFECTS]  I went through feedback for taking sea salt and water for curing constipation. I started with 1/2 TBS of himalayan pink salt with 1 litre of water and for the next two days I took only 2 pinch of salt in one glass of water twice a day. While starting with this remedy, I started to feel some irritation in my intestine and today is the third day and I am suffering from loose motion.

Not sure how 2 pinch of pink salt can lead to loose motions. I would like to switch to organic sea salt. Since I started this remedy, I could feel lot of thirst. Looks like my body is dehydrated. Is their any way I can take salt and water solution everyday to cure my constipation?

Thanks.

Eat something like toast or a bagel to slow the sea salt from going straight through...Or take magnesium citrate liquid...It works fast for constipation and doesn't have a harsh reaction in the intestine..

Currently, I am suffering like diarrhea right now. Since last 10 years, I have never faced diarrhea. Currently want to get rid of DIARRHEA and move towards normal bowel movement.

[YEA]  To relieve constipation, I mix ~1 tsp salt water sole with 24 oz water (the solution should taste pretty salty) and drink the full glass (you don't have to drink it all at once, but try drinking the whole solution within an hour). Then, I eat something with plenty of fiber, such as oatmeal or a microwave flax muffin. This usually gets me going within an hour or two.

When this doesn't work, I then try coffee mixed with 1 tbsp coconut oil. If that doesn't work, I take a few magnesium oxide tablets. If all else fails, I do a sea salt cleanse first thing in the morning. If none of these remedies work for you, you are too constipated for home treatment and need to see a doctor.

To make salt water sole, take a glass container with a plastic lid (do not use a metal lid because the salt reacts with the metal! ). I use an empty glass water bottle, but a canning jar or whatever you have will work so long as the lid is not metal. Fill the container about 1/3 full with a good, natural salt. I use Himalayan pink salt, but Celtic sea salt or any other unrefined, non-iodized salt should work. Fill the container the rest of the way with purified water (not tap). Cap the container and shake it up to dissolve the salt. Excess salt should sink to the bottom - this is a good thing because it means the water is saturated with the salt. Let the solution stand for 8-24 hours. When consuming sole, do not stir; Just pour some out from the top.

I drink 1/2 to 1 tsp of salt water sole everyday when I get up in the morning to keep in good health. When you are running low on sole, just add more salt and water, always making sure that there is excess salt at the bottom.

Were you aware that a TBSP was three tsp, not two as the other post advises?

[YEA]  God bless the creator of earthclinic.com. I was unable to have an effective bowel movement for 8 days. I tried many different natural cures with no luck. At this point I couldnt stand up right, I was in so much pain Then I found the sea salt cleanse. I mixed two teaspoons of SEA salt with 4 cups of warm filtered water. The mixture took effect one hour and 45 mins later. My advice is to stick close to the toilet for awhile.

[YEA]   "This is effective and fast. Do it only at home! I think I used 1/2 teaspoon sea salt and warm water and another glass of water. An 1/8 of a teaspoon would have been a better choice. It felt like everything left the building.

[YEA]  I have read some of the posted comments about the Salt Water regiment for constipation not working. It made me skeptical in thinking that it wouldnt work for me either. However, I tried it anyway, what did I have to lose. I used about 2qts of water and 3 tsp of celtic sea salt. I can guarantee you, within 45 mins, I was in the restroom for 1 hour. It was amazing! This stuff really works and I am relieved. It the cheapest and most healthiest regimen besided eating a high fiber diet. It is something that can be first thing in the morning to keep your system regulated, as read in the Master Cleanse book. Thank you Earth Clinic Community.

[YEA]  I am 66 years old and I have had severe problems moving my bowels, while I was too busy working etc. I never really thought much about it, but I started having dizzy spells and bad headaches, I went to the doctor and told him I have never moved my bowels; he said thats totally impossible(?)he then said where does it go? I felt he was the doc. so I also left the answers up to him as well.

During my journey here on mother earth, I used herbal remedies which were great but after so many years they too stopped working, then I found this wonderful site where I find everything here is very informative and 100% accurate.

I recently found I had a bacterial infection, my doctor chose to put me on antibiotics/ciproflaxin to be exact;my reaction to this med. Was that it felt like some one heavy was standing or sitting on my chest, I had this severe crushing feeling and my breathing got worse. I have since tried Ted's methods of sea salt and it has done many wonders for me, it has helped with brain fog, bowel movements, as well as the bacterial infection that continues to come back during damp, cold weather also when I eat ice cream.

I love the sea salt with water and a light touch of real lemon juice and it works great for me.

I use sea salt and blackstrap molasses for my dogs as they too are constipated, and one dog the vet says has signs of cancer. No sooner did I give the dogs the sea salt they both went out side, with great results. Thank you so much Ted for making this site possible for us to share.

I am hoping my body heals with all the lack of concern I had in the past and the lack of treatments I got. I am feeling 100% better already. Much love and safety on your journey as well. Namaste.......... God bless

Mauricio--Sory, my previous post was an error due to a PC malfunction. I see no one answered you over a year ago. Sea salt is sold at health food stores. Some grocery stores may carry it now due to the popularity. Hope you have gotten some relief by now.

[NAY]  I tried the Sea Salt cleanse this morning and it did nothing for me :( I've been reading and it seems to work for just about everyone who tries it. I would like to know if someone can give any feedback on why it didn't work.

From what I gathered reading the Sea Salt cleanse is this: 2 teaspoons of Sea Salt in 1 quart/liter (32oz)of warm water. And you should have a bowel movement/diarrhea within 15 minutes - 2 hours.

That's exactly what I did. I heated up the water just till it got warm /hot then added the 2 teaspoons of CELTIC sea salt, mixed it and drank it down in like 10 minutes. Nothing happened for 2 hours except for a couple of tiny farts and some small stomach noises. But I should add that just about 2 hours after taking the drink I did have a slight bowel movement which I had to strain kind of to get out and it was small solid nuggets and not diarrhea/liquid form at all which I find odd. (sorry for being a little graphic there)

I read somewhere that if you don't have diarrhea after 2 hours, then you did not put enough salt in.

Tomorrow I will try 3 teaspoons in a quart of warm water and hopefully have a cleanse.

If anyone can possibly help me out here I would appreciate it.

[YEA]   "I did a Salt Water Flush also this morning. Works great. But, maybe you are really clogged up. I would wait a few days, then try again. Did the salt dissolve completely? Maybe try warmer water. Also, lie on your right side for about 15 minutes if you can. The water will empty into your intestine faster. You will know if you are empty! I do this about every other week, or if I have eaten something I shouldn't have, I do it the next morning if I have time. Good luck!

[NAY]   "I got up early this morning to drink a quart of hot/warm water, with 2 TB celtic sea salt. Last night I drank a detox tea to prepare. It didn't work, I know it doesn't work for everyone the first time but even if it had- I wouldn't do it again. It was so gross! I was just felt sick all day. I don't poop much- I eat mostly veggies (then protein and fruit), I'm gluten and corn intolerant, hypothyroid,... take my ACV, molasses, coconut oil, beet kvass... I just want to poop!?

I used to have the same problem till a doctor gave me this piece of advice: eat kiwis first thing in the morning (maybe better start with just one...). It worked wonders. After a while any fruit worked, even bananas and my intestines became so regular that I didn't even need to do a thing anymore. Now I started to use coconut oil things have changed but they will go back to normal I hope!

The sea salt flush is not meant to relieve constipation... it's an internal cleanse to be used sporadically and only at certain scenarios, for a brief period of time. If you are not pooping, you need to address that first (sorry, can't help you there).

I have used the flush during semi annual fasts for years now. There has been a few times where it didn't work, and yes, it makes you feel sick when that happens. In my experience it was because I was dehydrated to begin with, but everybody is different. Are you drinking enough water? That is, pure water only, not juices, sodas, etc.

[NAY]   "I just tried the sea salt cleanse after my 2nd day of constipation. 3tsp salt, large glass of warm water followed by glass of water and relaxed in a warm bath, lying on side as I've read that elsewhere - still had trouble so did the old world thing and laid down paper and squatted, using the bathtub for leverage - they squatted for a reason! Whew, what relief!

[YEA]  Sea Salt Cleanse for Constipation: a tablespoon of seasalt in 20liters (or a little less) of cold water works GREAT, I've noticed putting the salt in really cold water, makes it not taste so bad, but be warned, for some it can work REALLY well and REALLY quick, so Be Prepared..and don't try and go on a long walk or drive right after, if you know what I mean :)

Posted by Michelle (Roseville, CA) on 07/02/2008

[YEA]  I have tried so many remedies over the years for my constipation. Many have been rather costly. My nutritionist told me about a simple, cheap, and effective way to give yourself a good cleanse and help you to stay regular. First of all, the #1 cause of constipation is not drinking enough water. The #2 cause is not enough good salt in your diet. He told me to do this first thing in the morning before anything else: get a big glass of water, about 32 ounces. Add 1 tsp of good sea salt (Hawaiian pink salt is the best-- I use Premier) to the water. Drink it all down, probably within 15 minutes. (I think it is easier to drink a lot of water in the morning because your stomach is empty and it won't make you feel bloated) I tried this 2 days in a row and within a few hours I had a great cleanse. Not a hard one, but very easy and cleansing! I will continue to do this each and every day. Sometimes it's hard to drink water constantly throughout the day, although it is good for you, this is easy! And it doesn't taste gross! And the salt is good for you too for so many other things! I can't wait to see how this is going to effect my mood, my skin, my energy, etc! And to add, this may be harder, but it works better too if you try not to eat past 8pm. I have a horrible habit but I am working on that too. Think this will all make me sleep better and overall feel better!
