I started OP two weeks ago. The results are amazing. My sinus problems have cleared up after much mucus building and spitting the first few days. Sinus med's are now a thing of the past. My teeth are brighter and my gums no longer bleed when I brush my teeth. My hair is thicker and shinier. I have adult acne that flairs up at times and the OP hasn't really done much for that. I will keep up on the OP daily in hopes that it will clear up my skin. This OP is amazing.

Have been oil pulling for 12 days and taking coconut oil for 10. Am thrilled with the results. On the 2nd day of OP my sinuses started to drain (didn't know they were congested) and two days later my lungs started to expel mucuus. Also found that I was sleeping much better and had more energy.Of course, the mouth and teeth felt great. I am taking coconut oil about 3 times a day. It is all absolutely astounding. I just love your site. Aren't we lucky?

I began using acv a few weeks ago at a small dose of 1 tsp. per day. After two weeks I noticed I was sleeping better and that my dreams were better. Rather than dark and heavy, my dreams were becoming more and more light-hearted. I actually woke myself up laughing the night before. I don't know if I can attribute this to acv, but I suppose it's possible.

Yesterday morning I discovered your website and tried oil pulling for the first time. While swishing I could feel some gritty bits in my mouth, like the feeling you get after the dentist has scraped off your plaque but it's still in your mouth. Afterwards I looked in the mirror and could see some tartar between my front teeth even after brushing. I haven't been to the dentist for a cleaning in a year so I had gotten some dark plaque build up in between my front bottom teeth and on the backs. I decided to floss and when I got to the bottom teeth there was a scraping sensation then the plaque came off! I was really stunned and just couldn't believe the oil had dissolved the plaque. My teeth also looked whiter. I thought I must be making it up, but then I came back to this site and read about other people's results and they confirmed mine. I oil pulled again this morning, using walnut and sesame seed oil which I have on hand, also I have a small mouth so only used 1 1/2 tsp. I didn't see as much of a difference, but the oil was definitely very whitish-yellow which I read means toxins are being removed. I have accessed other information on the site and am hoping your reccomendations will help me overcome pcos, estrogen dominance, low immune system and adrenal burnout, problems I have dealt with most of my life. If Ted has any information on building the immune system and healing adrenal burnout and glands in general I would love to hear more. I really like your site and I am also hoping the suggestions here will rid me of the need of spending $100s a month on other supplements. Thanks for sharing your secrets!

Hi, just wanted to share with you my cure for an infected gum -- hydrogen peroxide. Also wanted to respond to Subashini from Kuwait, because I may have an answer for her about the bad breath and oil pulling.

My story (I'll try to be brief)... got a piece of food stuck in the gum behind one of my front teeth. No matter what I did -- floss, oil pull, swish peroxide -- it didn't come out. I then went to a new dentist last week to have my teeth cleaned and the stuck particle removed. Lucky me -- the hygenist was just filling in for the day and during the teeth cleaning part, said she saw something dislodge but then "lost sight of it". Okay, fine, I thought. That night I awoke in the middle of the night with terrible bad breath. It was so bad it actually woke me up. Yes, I do have sensitive smell!! When I looked at the right front tooth the next day, I noticed that the gum was severely swollen, from the tooth to the roof of the mouth. The bad breath also persisted. I started my holistic regime of oil pulling, then later swishing with hydrogen peroxide. The oil pulling, like Subashini said, made my breath worse. YUCK! I tried swishing with sea salt. No luck. Finally I had the idea a couple of days ago to soak a cotton ball with hydrogen peroxide and then hold it (tightly) to the swollen gum for 10 minutes. I also pinched another h202 soaked cotton ball to the back side of the tooth where the piece of food had initially lodged. Interestingly, it didn't hurt, but certain areas of the gum turned white. 10 minutes later the white had disappeared. Glad to say that my bad breath smell immediately disappeared and has not returned. My gum is looking a little better. A couple more days of this (soaked h202 2x a day) and I think I will be back to 100%. I highly suggest this technique if you have a tooth abcess or swollen gums from an infection. It is the best way for hydrogen to penetrate, otherwise it just turns to foam if you swish it around in your mouth.

So Subashini, I think your issue may be an infection somewhere in your gums that the oil pulling is bringing to the surface. Infection smells like dental plaque -- quite disgusting. My suggestion is to pull up your top lip (then pull down the bottom lip) in the mirror in daylight and look for redness in your gums. If you can pinpoint an area, then soak it with hydrogen peroxide cotton ball 2x a day for a day or two. I would predict that your issue of bad breath will immediately go away, even after you oil pull.

Oh, one more thing. You will need to bend over a sink whilst holding the cotton ball to your gums and let your saliva run out. You may need to do round 2 during the same session. Most importantly, you don't want to swallow anything! Rinse well afterwards. Hope this helps someone, somewhere. All My Best, FR

Reply to Nay about Oil pulling. The instructions say to do it BEFORE you brush your teeth. Maybe that is why it isn't working for you.

In response to Rebecca from Bronx NY: I also wondered about oil pulling. I did it for two months with no evidence of it helping with anything. I was hoping it would alleviate pain from exposed nerves due to receding gums as well as with acne and general detox. I stopped the oil pulling for a couple of months but was desperate for some sinus relief with a cold one afternoon. I pulled two afternoons in a row and had really great results. Help with sinuses, no tooth pain, and major colon cleanse! I figured out what I must have been doing wrong for two months when I saw no results. I was pulling in the mornings while getting ready for work and getting my daughter ready for school so it didn't really have my full attention. Sometimes I would be distracted and would stop swishing or swallow a little (not the actual oil, but just whatever mucus or saliva was rising up in the back of my throat). When I pulled in the afternoons, it was a time I could just focus on the pulling. I don't pull very often now since it is rare for me to have an empty stomach anytime besides morning (I'm a grazer) and I'm not willing to get up at 4:30am to have enough time to focus on pulling before I start my day. Hope this helps.

I stumbled across this website looking for a cure for my allergies. I have missed weeks from work due to allergies in the last year. I used ACV and that helped with the allergies but I still had some problems. I started oil pulling and I could really see the toxins leaving my body thru mucas ect.. After two weeks my allergies have been cured and I feel great.

I had immediate relief from a tooth injury from a bad dentist. I can't really explain how it works, but I also sleep better, too. I used extra virgin olive oil first and then sesame seed oil. When I first did it, the tooth pain stopped. I had a terrible taste of metal in my mouth which is one of the reasons I really knew this was pulling toxins out. I also fell very weak and run down for the first two days and then very energetic! I believe it is very helpful and don't know why I did not hear of this sooner as I am very much into the alternative health. Thank you for posting about this!

Hi, I am in the process of retiring on disability. Last year, my health dramatically declined. My doctor thinks it may be Lyme disease even though I've tested negative. I have been experiencing extreme fatigue and body aches for almost a year now. I started oil pulling about three weeks ago. I'm now only experiencing one or two days per week of extreme fatigue and body aches. For the first time in a year, I feel well enough to tackle the clutter that has built up in my house, I've been organizing and cleaning regularly. I still tire easily, but I am feeling well enough to tackle some pretty big jobs one at a time! Thanks so much for this info. It is really making a difference!

I've been oil pulling for about a month now. I use Sunflower and Sesame Oil. I like the Sesame (Not toasted) better, but i'm all out so Sunflower it is! My teeth are whiter, my energy is up and my head seems more clear than usual. If you haven't tried this, do.

I'd like to alert Maria from BC that the removal of amalgam fillings is quite hazardous. She should definitely search out and find a dentist qualified to do the work and not just an ordinary dentist. DAMS (Dental Amalgam Mercury Syndrome) is a not for profit organization that can send a list of dentists in your area who specialize and who you can interview before submitting yourself to the mercury removal.

I've been pulling oil since 10/06 and feel that the most obvious improvment is in my teeth and gums.....bright white teeth and healthy gums that hold my teeth firmly in place where they used to be loose before. Also I sleep more soundly and feel refreshed in the morning. I want to do this for the rest of my life and wonder if that would be OK or not. Is there anything negative that could come from my pulling oil once a day forever.....I'm 65 and it sure beats medication.

I have been doing Oil pulling for one month. I read that it helps hormonal problems, but i didnt think it would erradicate my cramps. But after pulling for 1 month, my menstrual cramps and other pms associated problems are almost non existant. For the first time in years i was able to spend the first day of my course like any other normal day, not bent over in agonizing pain. And my skin has cleared up as well. My sister started OP and after a week she had the same outcome!! No Cramps. I will continue to OP and wait to see all the benefits from "pulling" the toxins out of my body. I also find that it is VERY!!! important that you brush your teeth and drink a large glass of water after pulling because you are releasing these poisonous toxins and you want to get them out.

Oil Pulling, Ok so it got so bad I turned to the internet. I was sitting at home suffering from the worst sinus infection I have ever had. So I thought I would google my problem and this website poped up first. This was the first time that I had ever heard of oil pulling. Honestly I have to say I thought it would be disgusting. However I was at the point of no return, I had to do something. So I was willing to give it a shot. At first I could not notice any effects of the oil and by the second time I tried it my symptoms were worse. But as the website said I continued and by my third time I was feeling 10X's better. It not only cured by sinus problems but made me feel more relaxed all around. Thank you so much for the info.

You all had me nervous the whole night before I began my Oil Pulling. It didn't taste bad, and I didn't gag. I did it for 15 minutes the first morning. It was more like an exercise for the facial muscles. I hope to see whiter teeth. I also hope my Dentist notices an improvement in my gums!

Hi, I've been oil pulling for about a month now. I try to do it five days a week at the least. I usually do it on the days that I take Ted's lemon juice and baking soda recipe. It's best to do it first thing in the morning. If you take the lemon juice or ACV with baking soda like I do, wait at least half an hour to 45 minutes to allow it to digest before you start the pulling. Then pull for about 20 minutes and get the digestive juices going again. (The baking soda inhibits digestion for a while, and you will be miserable if you try to eat immediately after.) Then I have a big glass of water (after I have rinsed my mouth really well) with 8 drops of H2O2 and wait another 15 to 30 mniutes before eating. This process really helps my digestive system to 'get going' in the morning. The first week I pulled I broked out horribly, especially around my cheeks. Then I remembered my chiropractor saying she, too, had broken out horribly after she had her toxic metal fillings removed from her teeth. I have metal fillings from years ago and realized that it must really be eliminating a lot of the metal from my bloodstream. I haven't noticed any changes in the way I feel, but I can definitely see from the skin erruptions and sneezes that follow the pulling sessions that I am getting something toxic out of my body. For the people who aren't feeling different yet or noticing physical results, keep pulling. Sometimes it takes many months or even a year to see remarkable results, depending on your level of toxicity. We have spent many years messing up our bodies. They aren't going to heal over night. Hope this helps.
