I am just wondering why some words are highlighted in color? for example the word and, flu, of, the, ect...... in alot of the posts. Is it just my computer?

EC: Hi Lori. No, words should only be highlighted on a page if you've just done a Google search (located at the top of every page on this site) using the same key words and are clicking on the links in the Google search results. Try deleting your browser history and cache, then restarting your browser. That should solve the issue. But if anyone else is experiencing this, please let us know! Thanks...

Hello all, I would like to start by saying that I love everything about Earth Clinic! I have a question though. I just sighned up for an account and can not see anything different,f rom when I did not have an account.
Could someone tell me, why an account with EC is better than just an anonymous surfing??? Yes, I read the agreements and what not,but have failed to see a big difference. Should I keep my account? Is there actually any BENIFITS???

Is there forums, chats or something else I am missing?
Thank You.

EC: Are you sure you have signed in? At the top it should say "Sign Out" and "My Account"

There are two benefits to being a registered user:

1. Registered users are able to send feedback much faster; i.e., they don't have to enter name, city, state, email and spam code each time they send a post.

2. In your account details, you will see every post that you have sent and where it links to on the site.

Because we know there are a few of you that have been working and experimenting with various remedies for months, we've just created a fun, new remedy page called The "Best" List.

https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/the-best-list.html

We hope that you will send us your list of favorite, tried-and-true remedies that you discovered on Earth Clinic. Each person's list will be posted in the Table of Contents on that page under your first name or screen name (if unusual), or first name and city/state.

To see the most popular remedy pages according to recent Google analytics, please scroll to the top of the new page.

Thanks Earth Clinic! You're awesome. You've helped me get rid of Bacterial Vaginosis and recurring UTIs. Now I'm onto toenail fungus. Just one more ailment and hopefully I won't need you anymore! (don't take offense).

Love ya-
Kerry

EC: Thanks for the support. Good luck with the nail fungus! Let us know how it goes -- it's one tricky bugger of an ailment!

Hi Deirdre,

Being able to view your own posts is a great new feature that you have added. It will enable users to check for comments added to their poste if they have not been keeping up to date on the latest post page. Thank You, Maureen

EC: Thanks, Maureen. Yes, the links to the posts in one's account make it very easy to find older posts now, especially since page numbers are constantly shifting with all the feedback constantly being added to the site.

I am enjoying your website and learning much, thank you! Question; someone mentioned they used ACV for some cures I need. If you could please explain what it means.

thank you,
bibi

EC: Hi Bibi,

ACV stands for Apple Cider Vinegar!

I am thankul for this website. I am thankful that there are websites created for womanly issues. I did not have a car, but I was dying to try ACV. I got a ride to my local store. Right now, in this very moment, I am feeling much better than I felt in days. I dont know how many thanks I can give: but just as a start, thanks a million!

EC: Thanks for the support! Please send us your feedback (if you like) as we have no idea what ailment you are using ACV for!

Hello everyone,

The up/down arrow you now see at the bottom of some posts indicates a thread. If you click on the icon, the entire thread will open in chronological order. Hopefully everyone will see this as an improvement to the Real-Time Posts page, but if you are experiencing any problems or have a critique, we'd love to hear from you!

I spend a lot of time at the EC site (obviously) and frequently have to log back in. Is there some way that could be remedied? (The having to log in, not the time spent at the site :p)

EC: Hi Connie. Earth Clinic uses sessions rather than cookies for registered users. A session expires every 2 hours, which is why you are finding yourself logged out. At this point we're not planning on supporting cookies (which would allow you to stay logged in longer), but this week we will be adding a log in/password field to the top of every page to save people that extra click!

We make upgrades to the site a little at a time because the programming fees (outside contractor) are so costly!

If you do a search for your own user name or email address whatever you should have an easier time. ;) Too too simple... I know... genius.... I have those days too....

EC: Very true, but it often takes a few days (sometimes a week) before new posts/users show up in the search results! All depends on those google bots indexing the site.

An improvement to our search function: key words from any Earth Clinic searches are now highlighted on the page in green and yellow once you click on a link from the Google search results.

How do you delete a post you wrote if you are not a member of the site? What if you wrote a post about a remedy that helped you and you want to delete it because there are some adverse affects? I never signed in and became a member and I would rather delete it entirely that write another post about the adverse affects.

Thanks,
Matt

EC: Hi Matt, please send let us know which post you would like deleted and we will remove it right away. You can use the general feedback form or email [email protected]. Don't worry, we will not post any removal requests on Earth Clinic!

Website Surveys
Posted by Earth Clinic (USA) on 08/27/2009

In the spirit of trying to improve the way content flows on Earth Clinic, we've just designed a very simple 5 question survey. Do you have 2 minutes to give us your feedback? These are questions we've been meaning to ask you for some time now and thought asking them all at once would be easiest for our busy contributors. There's also a text box at the end to send us your wish-list or voice any complaints you may have.

Here's the link to our survey: http://ec-august-2009.questionpro.com/

Thank you so much!

P.S. We will share the survey results with you in a few days.

Hello, when I perform a search and see the results, I then click on a link which brings me to the page of the post I'm looking for but not directly to the post I'd like to read. I know programming is no small feat, but I wonder if it would be possible for your links to take us directly to the post that's quoted?

Thank you in advance. I think this sounds like a good idea, but what do I know?!! I'm a bit technologically challenged at times - love what Earth Clinic teaches me and appreciate all who contribute! Linda

EC: We use Google Search and will have to see if it can be programmed to highlight the key words from your inquiry. Haven't seen it done where you are taken directly to the post, however! Anyone know if this is possible with Google Search?

I love the posts on here but this is my issue....
I want to just cry with frustration...
I can not find my own posts and do not know how to navigate through the sight to get where I want to be to read what I want to read. I wish I could just go to ANY tab (ailments or remedies or last posts) to find what I want to find. Oh please add spell check !!!!!!!!!!!
I have this problem where I type or write the second letter before the next letter (if you know what this is called PLEASE tell !!!) SO, my issue is that I love this site BUT I can not and do not know how to navigate and want to find where I left off. Please help for I feel so foolish.
sammijo

EC: Hi Sammijo66. You should be able to find your recent submissions on the Latest Posts page once they've been approved. However, certain posts will not be posted on the LP page if we deem them to be too risque (i.e., posts that contain graphic details for conditions like genital warts and bacterial vaginosis).

We're working to improve the registered user section of Earth Clinic so that people wiill be able to find their posts once they sign in under "My Account". Hopefully that will help you...

Deirdre
