Castor Oil Trick - UNTESTED

I don't often combine herbs or oils but someone asked about a broken bone and it got me thinking...one could get comfrey tea, as in comfrey tea BAGS, soak one (or more) with castor oil, place it on the break and cover it with a piece of parchment paper (or plastic wrap or whatever one uses), and a piece of muslin and place one of those disposable handwarmers on it to warm it up. Cover it with a tube bandage or otherwise wrap it with a bit of K-tape to hold everything in place, if necessary.

And, of course, this got me to thinking about eucalyptus tea bags soaked with castor oil as a chest pack, for colds and whatnot, or any specific herbal tea as a castor oil patch over a problematic area.

I've been trying to think of some way to try herbal tea bags employed in this way...but I don't have any issues to which I can apply it, at the moment. I DID purchase some handwarmers and, of course, I have a wide variety of herbs and reusable mesh tea bags so if something comes up...I'll try it and let you know.

Abdominal Adhesions

I was having pain from what I believed to be adhesions after abdominal surgery. A knowledgeable friend advised me to simply rub organic castor oil over the places that were sore. It only took a couple of days before the pain was gone. Anytime I feel any twinges of pain there, I rub the oil on again and the pain is gone. Pretty simple and very effective!

Urinary Incontinence

Interesting little side note for Day 8 -

The normal urge to pee takes some getting used to after years/decades of the old-lady URGENT need to pee. The contrast between the two is profound. It's an entirely different sensation. If you get busy or focused on something, you may be inclined to think you don't need to go now and put it off but NORMAL urgency from putting it off, though EQUALLY urgent, is completely different than the old-lady URGENT urgency. There IS no more dramatic URGENT urgency but that doesn't mean you don't need to pee. If that makes sense. My point is, don't wait because the urgency you're accustomed to isn't going to happen and if you wait for it, it'll simply be too late, ROFL! You may have to re-potty-train yourself.

Liver Transplant Preparation

When my husband waited for a call for a liver transplant, we used castor oil packs each night, overnight. And would leave off for 3 or so days each 2 weeks or so. It kept his abdomen from becoming distended until he (months later) was able to have the transplant. I myself use it whenever I have gastrointestinal problems. My daughter in law used them across her abdomen during pregnancy, to keep the baby healthy and to keep from stretch marks. Go to the A.R.E. site if you are interested in learning more about the packs and other remedies from Edgar Cayce's readings.

Dry Eyes
Posted by Deb (Florida ) on 03/27/2016

Many people have used castor oil. It will make your eyes blurry for awhile, that's why they say before bed. Dr. Shealy (not sure about spelling) recommends it. I think the back is suppose to say USP.

Remember Drs are taught by pHARMa, that's all they know.

Do some Google searches. There was a good homeopathy eye drop, but the FDA made them take it off the market. Good luck!

Eye Stye

I felt my lower eye lid getting sore one afternoon last week and by 10 pm it was REALLY sore. I pulled back my eyelid. It was red and I could see the bump on my lid above the lashes. I took a q-tip and dipped in in Castor oil then rubbed it over the area letting some of the oil go into my eye. Almost immediately I got relief. I repeated this about 4 of 5 times before I went to sleep about every twenty minutes or so. My eye was not sore all night. The next morning upon wakening I could feel that under my eye it was swollen but no soreness and it was rather itchy. The sty had come to a head and I could see the white bump. I ran another Castored Q-tip over it with a light pressure and the sty drained. That was it! I had a bit of a dark spot (bluish) under my eye. The swelling went away within an hour and the dark spot was completely gone by next day. I've had miserable stys before that have lasted for days where my eye has swollen shut so this was nothing short of amazing!

Yes. Castor oil can help the body detox. It helps to pull or move gunk out of the lymph.

Dry Eyes

Castor oil is great for dry eyes and, I've heard, cataracts too. But make sure any castor oil you either apply to the skin or drop in the eyes is cold-pressed, so perhaps try your local health food store. I've been experimenting with castor oil recently, rubbing it on the face, scalp and lash area and my eyes are certainly brighter and bluer. It's been ten days. :)

Injuries and Bruising

If you've ever been hit by a ball or smashed your finger then "Castor Oil" is your best bet. As soon as the hit or smash occurs, saturate the entire area with Castor oil and leave on. Really lay it on! This has been advice that was given by a medical practitioner some 40 yrs. ago and it works. It will also remove blood blisters, take the swelling down and stop the pain. I was hit in the arm muscle with a zinger grounder and immediately applied my Castor oil. It took out the pain and never swelled and where I did not go down my arm far enough it did bruise, but where I applied the Castor oil it did NOT bruise. It's awesome for toddlers who constantly are falling. Apply ice on top of the Castor oil if you wish, but many times it's unavailable and the oil is handy to carry on you in a small bottle.

Sore Feet

There's a story in the Cayce records of the practice of wearing socks as castor oil packs on the feet. Apparently one man with sore feet from working on concrete all day tried it and had nearly everyone in the plant where he worked wearing castor oil socks after telling them what he was doing. Either the old-style, unlined "jelly" Crocs or the waterproof version of those footies they wear over their shoes in a clean room would be perfect for walking around on castor packs, when you're just hanging around the house. Might be a little weird in public, LOL!

Cold-Pressed Castor Oil
Posted by Stacey (Berlin, Germany) on 09/14/2009

Cold-pressed oil is considered superior to other methods of oil extraction because heat and solvent based processing often destroys the active ingredients in beneficial oils. You can find cold-pressed oils at a healthfood store. They are often organic as well, so expect to pay more. The are better than regular oil, but regular castor oil is better than nothing.

Diabetic Feet

After reading about Edgar Cayce and castor oil I tried it on my mother's feet. She has been having a burning sensation on her feet which the doctor's medicine could not cure. I massaged her feet with castor oil and washed it off after half an hour. You can imagine my delight when she said the next morning that the burning was completely gone! I also told our maid to rub castor oil on a wound on her foot. She says it is better but since she went to the doctor after she started using the castor oil and the doc cleaned her wound with hydrogen peroxide, I do not know to whom or what the credit should go.

After I zapped it with hulda clark zapper and put castor oil pack and the heating pad, some of the cyst was gone... i'll continue zapping and castor oil packs.

Application Tips

Greetings! Just a tip for castor oil packs required in geometrically challenged places. You can stick a gauze pad onto a piece of "Press-n-Seal" cut a bit larger than the pad, put the castor oil on the pad, place it where it's needed, being careful not to get oil on the outside of the Press-n- Seal and tape it all down with K-Tape - I.e. kinesiology athletic tape. It sticks through thick and thin (even to the bottom of the foot and between the toes! ) is hypoallergenic and comes in lots of pretty (or macho) colors. SUPER handy for keeping things in place, on the skin.

Caution: Risks of Spontaneous Combustion with Castor Oil
Posted by Cindy (Illinois, USA) on 03/30/2023 433 posts

WARNING!

Double bag and seal up your castor oil pack when not in use. It CAN ignite/spontaneously combust - no spark or heat source required - if left out and folded to oxidize in the air and light. You will smell it before it actually ignites but only IF you're at home, awake and in the same part of the house. And, no, I didn't set my house on fire. It just occurred to me as I was pricing "oily waste" cans

Anyone who does woodworking or refinishes furniture using linseed oil probably already knows this. The furniture doesn't catch fire, but the rags used to apply oil can.

Also, if you ever feel a sense of warmth in some spot in your kitchen that you can't identify or figure out, check for oil. A rag or paper towel with oil on it, spilt oil and whatnot.

You may also want to double-check and clean the electrical outlets and light switches around your kitchen as they can be a heat and/or spark source. Being careful not to shock or electrocute yourself, obviously.

Chances are, you don't leave stuff like that laying around but just be aware.

Urinary Incontinence

Day 9 strangeness.

I've been applying the castor oil to my eyelids and it does seem to improve my vision, almost instantly, if only temporarily.

That said, last night I noticed something strange. I was awakened by a sound but didn't open my eyes. I assumed it was thunder and the power was out because it was so dark BUT I simply had my eyes closed and when I opened them, the neighbor's new and annoyingly bright outdoor lights were shining in the window like always. So I kept opening and closing my eyes and with them closed, it was pitch black which I don't believe I've ever experienced before. Even now, in the daylight, when I close my eyes it's so dark there's barely any difference between simply closing my eyes and closing and covering them. Weird - but COOL!

I bought a sleep mask but don't like wearing it so I'd just been pulling the sheet up to cover my eyes but it no longer appears to be necessary.

I haven't seen that mentioned in any of the reports, boos, case studies or papers I've been reading so just thought I'd put that out there. Perhaps others have experienced the same thing and not noticed? I don't know. Interesting.

Arthritis

Dear Sandy,

Some things I might try would be gentle oil pulling with sesame oil - it seems to be especially indicated for teeth problems.

If you have not tried Black Walnut tincture, it is something to try to remineralize teeth. We use 1 dropperful in a Tablespoon of water and swish for 1 minute and then swallow. We do this twice a day. We have healed cavities with this.

Bone broth is supposed to help with healing bones and also the gut, which may improve absorption of nutrients.

Comfrey is an herb I use for its cell regeneration properties. If you would be able to grow a plant you would have an endless supply of this, at least in the summer months. I use it daily. Comfrey's other name is "knit bone" because it heals bones and joints.

Some use cod liver oil, internally to benefit from the vitamin A and D. Perhaps the vitamin A would also benefit the eye issue you have been having.

If you could get some black walnut powder, this can be added to homemade tooth powder. My husband uses this when his teeth feel sensitive and it usually helps right away.

I hope you are able to try some things and that they help you a lot!

Castor oil works like magic for vaginal itching. Simply wash and clean the area and apply castor oil liberally. The itching stops immediately and if it recurs apply again.... In a day or so the itching disappears altogether! :-)
