Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has helped my arthritis that was extreme in my back. I still have stiffness in my back, but the pain is gone after taking it for two weeks. It has also helped me lose some weight as long as I take it a few minutes before I eat. Although it is nasty as all get-out, it really works.

I have had 6 sets of facet injections in my spine, cortisone injections in hips and back between procedures, tendonitis in left foot and leg. For years I was sick of paying for pain meds that almost caused an addiction for apx. 1 1/2 months. I researched natural home remedies for my pains, apple cider vinegar came up I tried it and after 12 years of living in pain, I have no more pain, thank GOD. and no addiction to it, I take the pill form, and my acid reflux went away and no more hiatal hernia

I have a back problem and it got even worse when an employee that I work with pushed me from behind and I found myself on the floor in pain. Good thing there was nothing broken but it left me with a terrible back pain. I could hardly walk and if I do, it would be like a slow motion picture. I was downing anti-inflammatory 3x a day, but the doctor only recommends 2x a day. I really don't care at that time. I was also taking tylenol around 12 tabs a day plus a muscle relaxant. None of it work or if it did, it would only provide very little relief which is close to nothing. Then a friend of mine mentioned ACV and I remembered my mom telling me about that about 2 and a half decades ago. I went to the internet and found this site. I thought I would give it a try. Nothing to lose on my part, but everything to gain. The first couple of days of taking ACV, it really didn't do anything for me. But on the third day, I felt a tremendous change. My pain was almost gone. I want to mention that on the second day, I didn't stick to the 3x a day regimen for ACV. I think I drank ACV at least 7 times (3 tablespoons each dose) for the second day. When I felt my pain was almost gone, I went back to my 3 times a day. And up to now, I am still taking ACV. And I am only taking half a pill of my medication for the whole day. This miracle happen in a span of 3 days. It was like a birthday present to me coz the third day was my actual birthday and I was able to entertain friends that came over. ACV is a true natural miracle. Thanks to ACV I once again have my life back. Thanks to my mom also for just being mom.

I have been drinking ACV to help with the pain I have received from Sciatica and it did seem to help. Do you have any suggestions about the natural thing to do about that type of pain?

I have a weather map on my hip! I was surprised to come out of my house and have 2 inches of rain at my feet, and not know we had rain coming................ can it be the apple cider vinegar, (which I've only used for a week), is taking that annoying pain away, when bad weather is coming? YEAH!

I have been taking ACV capsules for years because I do not like the taste of vinegar. They are reasonable and very effective for pain reduction. I take two in the a.m. before other natural meds or eating.
Avoid Tomatoes
Posted by RY (UT) on 09/08/2023
For around three months, I have been eating lots of tomatoes with all kinds of peppers. I basically eat a rotational diet, but occasionally get a taste for something. Although this may not be causing the leg pain, I will cease for a time to test.

Epsom Salt Soak, Hot and Cold Therapy

I injured my wrist. Couldn't say how, but it hurts. After 2 weeks, I went to the dr and had an xray, not broken. He said use a brace, hot/cold, and have to wait it out. Well, now it's 3 weeks later and it hurts worse than it did when I went to the Dr .I have been wearing a brace constantly except when washing, applying heat/cold periodically (can't while at work), soaking in epsom salts 2x/day and avoiding using it. What else can I do? Should I apply dmso? I have it on hand. I noticed overnight that now it has something rubbing in there if I flex my fingers (which are not held stationary by the brace). I think the dr didn't take it seriously since the first thing he asked was what was I taking for it. I don't take pain killers since I had an ulcer in the past and don't want to start that again.

Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM

Hi Martin, I've got the same issue with my right hip and back. I found that that kind of supplement combination - glucosamine chondroitin msm, helped me also. The only problem I encountered is that it started to cause my hair to thin out and fall, in spite of my taking collagen supplements. Wondering if you had the same experience and if you found a way around this. Also if you didn't mind, would you share which brand you used and the specifics?

Magnesium, Omega 3

Hi Eileen....I can identify with you about the pain. I lifted something pretty heavy and ended up with a horrible lower back pain the day after that almost incapacitated. The pain kept moving to my abdomen and then down to my legs, I tell you it was terrible to the point that I couldn't go to work. Hot water, cold packs, ointments of all kinds, nothing helped until I read that Magnesium help a lot with pain and also omega helps a lot as well. So that's what I did. The result? almost immediately, I felt relief and the pain got better and better as the days go by. Today after about 4 weeks of suffering, I feel almost 100% better. I know your condition is a little different from mine but try it you never know, it might help you at least manage the pain. Let me know the outcome. Take care, and I will keep you in my prayers.

Lots of great info in all of your posts, Om. Thank you. Could you possibly share which MahaNarayan oil you use? I think I have excess vata, as it shows up as dry skin, keratin plugged follicles and aching legs (poor circulation?). I'd like to give the oil a try. Thanks!

I also benefit from this information. Thank you.
Yesterday I luckily found a small bottle of Mahanarayan oil in an Indian grocery store. I have also been massaging my head with sesame and castor oil. I am also going to try almond oil.
I am also looking for Yograj or Kaishore guggulu. If not available, maybe I will try Boswellia-Shallaki.

I agree about the transdermal magnesium, and have been using it for a couple of years. Magnesium saturated baths are my favorite. I believe most any and every one will greatly benefit from more magnesium. Your other suggestions are new to me... and they sound wonderful! I'm only wishing I had someone who could do the oiling for me! (wink) Is the idea of oiling to incorporate a self massage? I'm envisioning a Swedish style with long brisk upward strokes. Should the amla and turmeric be added to the oil for oiling, or should we take it internally? Is the exfoliation done dry / before bathing, or wet / after soaking? Sorry for all the questions!

Avielle from Santa Car, CA ---
When you use MahaNarayan Oil, other items are not necessary. But with plain sesame oil one could include Amala and or Turmeric at special times. Both these are also taken internally as you know. Honey is also a help with bitter meds.
For exfoliation it seems best after a bath and then showering. It is great for skin care and circulation. For self massage you could use also circular method with long strokes along the legs, for example. Doesn't everybody like a full massage . It is heavenly.
Amala can be included in shampoos. Wait a while when you are doing something else, then rinse.
I take both Amala and Turmeric at least twice a week to keep tissue elastic and for the many benefits. But as for all regimens one should introduce a week's pause as Ted on EC also suggests. But as in foods, I take it every time it is called for.
I hope I have answered your questions and I wish you the enjoyment of radiant health.
Namaste, Om

Hello again Bill,
Thank you for the update on the "hip" issue.
About the enemas .... Dr. Nick Gonzales (MD) in Manhattan, the renowned cancer doctor, has enemas as a major part of his anti cancer protocol. That comes from his mentor under whom he studies; Dr William Kelley (who was a dentist but developed Dr Beard's ideas about the use of the enzyme "pancreatin"...). But his are all coffee enemas so interesting the many variations you are going to use. Looking forward to the outcome.

Chronic Ankle Pain Remedies
Posted by Kerry (Boston, Ma) on 08/14/2013
Dear Earth Clinic, My sister deals with chronic ankle pain. She has had this pain since she was 5 or 6, and has been to specialists numerous times, tried chiropractics, massage and reiki, with no positive effects. She did find short term relief from acupuncture (up to 2 days). She wore a brace for years, which did help but she ended up with significant muscle loss from it. About a year ago, she had a pretty major exploratory surgery with a specialist and they cleaned out debris, but did not find any major defect. The last year has been good, with very limited pain, until recently. The pain seems to be back full-force and it is so extreme she can not sleep. It hurts all the time, but the worst is sleeping and driving.
Up to this point, she has been able to resist pain killers, and I think she is pretty dedicated to living without them, but we are concerned that the pain will be too much as time goes on. She is now only 26.
With all that said, I am looking for some alternative options (more alternative then the avenues mentioned above). We have spoken about doing a cleanse (probably the Master Cleanse/lemonade diet), which we did once before and really liked. I would be interested in dietary suggestions, remedies, alternative doctors and anything else people think may be applicable. Thank you very much!

Rubbing Alcohol, Aspirin, Epsom Salt
Posted by Gillian (Andalusa, Spain) on 10/08/2013
Hi, thanks for the tips. I got mag oil and diluted it with water half and half, but when I sprayed it on the painful area, it made the pain worse.
I have taken epsom salt baths; it helps a little not much. How much epsom do you use?
I am also having bad digestive problems. My lower abdomen feels acidy and a bit painful, it is keeping me awake at night. My belly feels distended and bloated. Yesterday I had a short bout of diareah kind of dark gray watery and undigested food. I belch alot and also fart a alot.
I had taken tincture of oregano oil for low grade infection and I heard that it is very hard on the stomache.
I have been taking coconut oil, high doses of vit b, vit c and vitamin d. Any other ideas?
Thanks. Gillian
