Apple Cider Vinegar

I had a minor cold which was under control in flight with Benadry. However, as plane descended the pressure in the eustacian tubes and sinuses became greater and greater. Once aircraft landed ears were so clogged I could only hear as if in a bubble. Tried everything natural to clear sinuses and eustachian tubes except Apple Cider Vinegar.

I did the Apple Cider Vinegar nasal rinse for this sudden onset case of altitude induced sinusitis and it cleared in a very very short time. Thanks!

Oil Pulling with Coconut Oil for Sinuses

I've had sinusitis for years now and am not crazy about using sinus sprays all the time. A friend told me about oil pulling not only for sinus but for healthy teeth and actual help with cavities. I don't usually try 'fad' things, but I bought some virgin coconut oil and gave it a try.

At first, ten to twenty minutes of swishing oil about in the mouth bothered me, but I got accustomed to it and over the past six months, both my oral health and sinus condition have improved. I haven't had a sinus infection in months and when I 'chew' the oil I can feel the sinuses loosening when they're blocked. I recommend you try it if you have sinus issues or tooth/gum problems as well.

After eight weeks of terrible headaches every afternoon and evening esp. when I bent down, I realised I probably had sinusitis. The doctor prescribed antibiotics and steroids (obviously) which I turned down as I have an auto immune disorder. I bought a neti pot but it seemed to make it worse. I was pretty desperate and then found your site. After one Apple Cider Vinegar steam I could feel the pressure subsiding and two days later (after 3 Apple Cider Vinegar steams a day) I feel brilliant. Thank you so much 😁

This is a little vague. How long does it last you? How far up the mason jar do you fill the vegetable ingredients? I'm intrigued by this concoction. Thanks.

ACV, Sinus Rinse, Dietary Changes

Sinusitis cured! Its been 2 years and hasn´t come back.

I cured my sinus infection completely. I took 1 tablespoon of ACV in apple juice daily, also I flushed my nose with a netty pot every morning with: warm boiled water, a pinch of salt and two drops of Citrobiotic( grapefruit seed oil). I cleaned out all that nasty infection and kept doing it until all was gone. I also stopped eating dairy and gluten! Very very important. I notice that if someday I have a tiny bit of yogurt the next day I wake up with problems breathing. So keep in mind what you eat is very very important!

Extra virgin coconut oil swab of the nasal passage relieved my sinus pressure pain as well. I had a constant sinus pressure pain for weeks in the wintertime. I tried saline sprays, antihistimines, allergy eye drops, hydrogen peroxide in the ears. Two swabs of my nasal passages and over 90% of the pain is gone. I think a neti pot rinse with salt and coconut oil would get any deeper residual allergens out. THANK YOU!!

Giving ALL honor and praise to GOD. I have been struggling for a couple of years with chronic sinus issues. Had surgery, used steroids oral and rinse was like putting a band aid on a cancer. I rinsed with saline and coconut oil 30 minutes ago and praise god a break through. Now I'm drinking it in my orange juice. After my shower I will be rubbing it all over my body.

Sauerkraut

Raw, unpasteurized, organic sauerkraut cleared up my sinuses -finally!! After many, many years of stuffiness and suffering. You buy this kind of sauerkraut at a health food store or a farm - NOT at a supermarket - that's the processed kind and you don't want that! Start out just taking a teaspoon, then a few days later add another teaspoon, keep going until you find the right dose that clears you. If you take too much all of a sudden, you may get stuffy - that's a detox reaction. Try and gauge what the right amount is for you and stay on that amount for a while before you raise it. Raw, unpasteurized sauerkraut kills yeast and fungus, which is usually the culprit in long term sinus issues.

Black Seed Oil
Posted by Michael (Scottsdale, Arizona) on 02/06/2017

Ingesting black seed oil orally can also get rid of a sinus infection/chronic sinusitis. Start out slow - 1/4 tsp, and work your way up to 1 teaspoon. Black seed oil (Nigella Sativa) is an antifungal.

I wouldn't heat ACV since it will loose lots of its healing qualities.

Oregano Juice and Salt

I know your question was written long ago, but in case anyone is wondering too, you can buy it online by the name Oreganol -not sure if it is company name. But if you have juicer that can juice greens, you could juice some of your own, however it probably wouldn't be as strong since that one is wild.

Did you dilute it with glass of water? You will be surprised how many people just decide to drink ACV straight.

Argan Oil

Argan Oil cured my chronic sinusitis in 2 days!! I'm only taking 1 teaspoon of culinary Argan oil (the edible type from the Middle East that people cook with) and already my sinusues are completely clear! I was told that the typical dose a day is just under a tablespoon - and I'm only taking 1 teaspoon! Yesterday, I did get a bit of a healing crisis as my sinuses cleared out - today they are totally clear, and I've been suffering with this for MANY YEARS already!! I read that argan oil helps boost the immune system, which is why I took it. You can go to PubMed and type in argan oil to see more health issues it helps with. Make sure you buy a kind of argan oil from the Middle East - Israel or Morocco. The kind I tried is from Israel. This remedy is most definitely worth a try!!!

Biotin

After a 7 year miserable and frustrating battle with sinusitis, my sinuses are now finally, miraculously clear!! My cure is BIOTIN! I was taking it for something else, and as a wonderful side effect, it completely cleared my sinuses! Other supplements have helped here and there, but nothing like the astounding results of Biotin!

I am currently taking 20,000 mcg. The holistic doctor I see puts people on dosages much higher than that for various health issues, so I don't think a high dose is a problem. It took about 3 days for the Biotin to completely clear up my sinuses. If you suffer from this, eliminating wheat & dairy (from a cow - goat is ok) will definitely help, too!

ACV STEAM FOR SINUSITIS

Hi there. So for a whole month I have been suffering with sinusitis. It started off as a cold that wouldn't go away. The sinus blockage went from bad to worse. Dairy products made it even worse. So realised that needed refrain from dairy products too. Tried steaming with ACV and water. Each time I did it it helped but came back. So I decided to use ACV with less water so that it will be more concentrated. Oh boy oh boy just that one treatment and I felt like a new person.

Did it the second time and now I feel back to normal. Completely. I am glad I didn't agree to take the antibiotics!

I also have been drinking lemon juice with honey on a daily basis.

ACV works like magic.... after a whole month of suffering for nothing!

It was quite strong... so u must close your eyes and mouth. I use the face steamer... so that the steam is not too strong... put over a towel and that does the trick!

Thank you earth clinic. Wish everyone good health and a speedy recovery!

Keep Head Warm

Diane of Los Angeles posted about her Sinus-like symptoms way back in 2012. I hope she is still free of them now. Even when I worked in one of the hottest countries on Earth, I had sinus like symptoms for a time and naturally wondered why? The outdoor temperature could sometimes get as high as 50 degrees centigrade and was regularly in the high forties!! It was not a humid heat either. An Indian (ex pat) friend suggested that I should wear a woolen hat to bed each night and I came right after a while. I could also put vaseline-coated, cotton-wool balls in my ears for extra protection. This was especially important to do if I was suffering from ear problems, as keeping water and particularly shampoo out of the ears, where it can be very irritating, is crucial. This was similar to the advice given to Diane. Those fans and air-conditioning systems had a lot to answer for too of course. We were cautioned never to sleep with both systems running at night. Shorthy before we arrived, someone had recently collapsed and died in such circumstances after suddenly transiting from outside to inside temperatures.

The cause of death on the death certificate was sometimes listed as "The Climate"! Wow!

Another simple solution to help make our quality of life better

I did not wear the hat during the daytime though!

I wore my pith helmet and carried an umbrella and a fan. (Not really).

I'm not the original poster, but 'lavage' is not misspelled. It's a medical term that means to irrigate the cavity with water (or with medicine, but in the poster's case, it sounds like they used water--probably warm water).

I want to explain how I have cured my rhinitis / sinusitis with black seed oil and the way I did it. I contacted a popular website for black oil who explained to me to put black seed oil on my little finger before bed and rub oil into each nostril. Then when I was was breathed through my nose I felt the vapours in my nasal passages. They told me to do nasal lavage after put oil. It was a very successful as I woke up with clear passage when normally my breathing is blocked and stuffy.rhi If you need help for sinus try this is it working for me too.

Xylitol Nasal Spray

Hi Lucy what does the probiotic do when you swab in the nasal cavity? As I thought I could add a cap in the colloidal silver nasal spray? or should it be done separate?

Also I will throw a question out, now is ACV still effective when you mix it with baking soda?

Hi Shelly, thanks for the feedback, I have just started that this week a combo of Serrapeptase + Nattokinase . It is to break down the biofilm of the bacteria, I am taking other supps as well to break down this biofilm which the bacteria have and then become resistant to treatment . I am rotating supps so I do no build up resistance, As I said I am throwing everything at this.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi Lucy thanks for the tip, as some have said I have also thrown the kitchen sink at it! I am taking probiotic, but have amped it up last month with some from iherb 150 billion .But have not used it in the flush yet. I have tried most things in the flush [most of what everyone says they use ]it is crazy as I can flush about a dozen times a day. I am working on my gut as it is the main part of the immune system and also, last week I started taking supps to reduce inflammation.

Do some research on taking Serrapeptase enzyme. Just placed an order for myself and it sounds like it could really help with my acute sinus and ear problems along with inflammation. Reviews are good. Here is hoping.

Xylitol Nasal Spray
Posted by Lucy (Usa) on 05/31/2016

Hi Nick, I heard this trick recently and thought you might want to give it a try.

Take some liquid out of a jar of real fermented sauerkraut, which is packed full of beneficial bacteria. Sauerkraut is easy to make yourself if you cannot find it at your local grocery (in the refrigerated section). Dip a cotton swab into the liquid and swab the inside of your nose. Since you have had this infection for some time it may take longer to get under control. Natural remedies can take longer to work.

You may want to add some fermented foods to your diet, as well, to boost your immunity. Kefir is a good one.

There is a great liquid probiotic made by livingstreamsmission that can be nebulized if the sauerkraut liquid swab does not work for you.

Good luck!

I am reading these treads and not sure where to jump in. I have a chronic sinusitis, now for over 2 years everything I have tried just does not stop it. All I am doing it trying everything I that I read as I am running out of ideas, even trying to reduce inflammation in the body hoping it will all settle down [with supps], it has consumed my life as my whole day revolves around flushing and taking supplements. Now I am not sure if everyone gets the same symptoms or not but I will ask, does everyone get bad brain fog sometimes to the extent when I can hardly function, eg I was at the ENT surgeon the other week and I was in a mental daze not sure what happened. This mental daze is a big concern.

The infection is Antibiotic resistant and each day is a struggle to do things

Has anyone know how effective a BSD treatment verses a FESS treatment is?? I know the FESS leaves scar tissue and is not effective in all cases, because of the infection and scarring can be problematic??

Can you long time sufferers please help me as I am researching and researching trying to find a solution .

I tried nearly everything on this list and nothing was working long term. I was suffering for a few months and the pressure was getting worse. I went to my natural food store and found grapefruit seed extract nasal spray. I got near immediate relief after a stinging sensation. After a week taking it twice a day it is gone.

Xylitol Nasal Spray
Posted by Barbara (England) on 04/05/2016

I've spent much of today reading all your problems and potential cures. I suffer. Chronic sinusitis from time to time. I have tried acupuncture, bought herbal tabs from same person. Tried cider vinegar, fluxonase nasal spay from the Dr.I believe this dose started with a combination of things: mainly the cold air & constantly changing climate including the damp. I was given a course of antibiotics called Clarithromycin dose 500 mg which can certainly help, but as I saw the clinician she was clearly being careful and just gave me a 5 day course. Unfortunately this isn't enough. Two days later I saw the doctor and prescribed a further course of the same 7dys. I believe they help if given soon enough, which in this case they weren't. I kept going but my upper body ached and I did spring cleaning which involved scrubbing several things that has accumulated damp throughout the winter.

After reading your letters I now realise mine is also caused by fungus as well as allergy to cold air. In this case I also had a tooth out which had a small abscess by it- clearly this hasn't helped. So after dentist I went shopping, someone has to do it! I started to feel pretty unwell, eg no strength, ears blocked, couldn't breathe properly, latter been going on for several weeks. I had to go to bed, keep warm. No point phoning dr as she would only refer me to ENT( ear, nose, throat) at hospital, already been down that route incl camera down nose- which if you are worried doesn't hurt at all, as nostrils numbed with a spray, also had a scan previously. So to treat myself. I shop ( asda) own version of Vick.

Put small, eg., quarter teaspoon, into inhaler I bought, added hot water and inhaled. This inhaler has a piece that covers mouth and nose. I covered my eyes with a cloth as they smarted the first time.

ALSO I'd forgotten I had a homeopathic remedy from a previous episode. These are called nat. mur. 30c by nelsons available from health shop eg in England Holland and Barratt. Ask in shop for how to use as writing on side of container is very small, also ask them to open them as this isn't always easy either. Press the bottom of the container fairly hard until 2 pills drop into the lid. Do not touch them with your hand but pop straight into your mouth. Chew or suck. Follow instructions, which say adult dose is 2 pills every 2 hrs for first 6 doses then 4 times daily for 5 days or until symptoms improve. They cost around £6 for a tube of approx 84 pills.I have inhaled now for 3 days, you can use a bowl+Vick+hot water and head over bowl method with a towel covering so you inhale the steam if you haven't an inhaler unit. I have drunk plenty of hot drinks, mainly weak fruit juice.

After 4 days I'm starting to feel a lot better. I aim to have a bath as the steam will help. Thank you all for all your encouragement. I look forward to your feedback.

Avoid Cold to the Head

I have a strange problem I've never heard of before. I have noticed that whenever just below the crown of my head becomes cold (about 5 inches below the crown) I get a bad Sinusitis attack! This cold sinus attack can come on with the air conditioner on, very cold weather, or walking in a store that is too cold! To stop the attack I simply have to cover my head with a warm cap or I can get relief by using a blow dryer aimed at the back of my head, face and neck area! But definitely my head becoming cold will start a Sinusitis attack! If I use a hat or warm knit cap during cold weather I usually don't have to use benadryl to help my sinusitis attack! I hope this helps someone.

I snorted a pinch of pepper in both nostrils. BHAM! Within five minutes a lot of mucous was spitted and felt better than even post neti.

Thanks, this was useful for me in the first try. Will keep share the long term effect in my next update.

Note: Mine was a chronic sinus (thick mucous, post nasal drip kind) over 3 decades. Am also experimenting the use of AUM breathing. It is also helping.

Avoid Cold to the Head
Posted by Rita (Southern Ca.) on 02/04/2016

I just wanted to share my Sinuisitis tip with Sinusitis Sufferers -something that helped me stop my Sinusitis attacks!

I found that one of the triggers for my sinusitis attacks was a part of my head getting COLD. The part on me was just below the Crown of my head on the back of my head. If that spot gets cold this will activate a severe Sinusitis Attack! This includes an acid type liquid that seeps down my upper nose and burns all the way down to my upper chest! It's a horrible and painful attack! Like hot chili coming down my sinuses into my upper chest!

I was sick almost all the time until I found this trigger! I used to wonder why I got Sinusitis attacks in summer? It was due to the cold air of the Air Conditioner! Causing the back of my head to become cold! If I put on a warm cap this will stop my Sinusitis attack! Even going into a cold store will cause me a Sinusitis attack if I'm not wearing a warm cap.

It took me years to discover this was happening. A blow dryer to the head, face, and neck will also stop my Sinusitis attack. I hope this information helps people with my particular health problem.

Thanks Rita
