Cure Multiple Ailments

| Modified on Nov 05, 2023
Do you suffer from multiple ailments at the same time? Even if some or all of these conditions are minor or passing, it can make it harder to come up with a suitable natural remedy to restore your health. It can also make it difficult to identify the root condition that may be resulting in all of these symptoms.

On the other hand, if there is a single condition, nutritional deficiency, or lifestyle choice at the base of all of your symptoms then a single or small number of home remedies might get to the root of the problem and result in a complete cure of multiple conditions.

Natural Cures: As you will find in the pages to follow, many Earth Clinic community members have successfully addressed multiple health conditions with one or two (or a small handful) or herbal remedies, dietary supplements, or lifestyle changes--completely changing their health and their lives in the process!

I have struggled with weight issues since childhood. I can look sideways at a piece of cheesecake and gain five pounds. However, this all change recently with the addition of this wonder supplement to my diet. A few months ago, I began a popular portion-control diet that is low in fat. In 9 weeks, I'd lost 12 lbs. I then added a new fat blocker to my regimen. I began noticing quicker results with weight loss BUT I still suffered from low energy levels, yeast overgrowth, severe cystic acne... among other ailments. Searching for acne remedies here on earth clinic, I read one lady's entry which advocated the use of aloe vera and milk thistle. In the past week, after consuming approx. 10oz of Aloe Vera Juice per day, taking 250mg of milk thistle with each meal, and washing my face with apple cider vinegar water, I feel like a new person! In the past week, my acne has healed about 60%, my vision is clearer, I don't need massive amounts of stimulants to wake me up in the morning, my eczema is vanishing, I have plenty of energy, my dry and cracking heals have begun to heal, and I've lost 6lbs!

EC: The post Molly is referring to is from the acne remedies page:

10/01/2007: Atoya from Washington DC writes: "I just recently started to develop acne after my 25th birthday, before I would have a pimple or two only around the time of my cycle. Since then I have basically tried everything I could get my hands on over the pass eight months or so to rid myself of this embarrassing ailment. One day on one of my usual quests to find a real cure, I went to the Vitamin Shoppe looking for some type of multi-vitamin, hoping that I would find justice. An elderly Sales man, who was very knowledgeable, told me that my liver was full of toxins and Milk Thistle and Aloe Vera would clear my ailment right up. I took 200mg of Milk Thistle a day and 1 capsule of Aloe Vera and it did just that. After about a week later, I could see a huge difference - no breakouts. Your bowel movements will become more and more frequent which is what helps to release the build up of toxins in your body. He told me to take it for about 2 months and I should be okay. I still keep some on hand but at a lower dosage since my initial cleanse, I take 70mg (a lower dosage) two to three times a week for maintenance. It is not good to take any type of herb for an extended period of time unless recommended by your physician. Believe me, this inexpensive concoction is a sure-fire way to rid you of all of your stubborn acne.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Allergies, Colds, Sinus Infections, Sore Throats and General Immunity:

I could not recommend Apple Cider Vinegar any higher!! It has changed my life like nothing else! Re-reading my previous review today, makes me want to get back to taking the stuff regularly every day again, but in truth I haven't been doing that. However, it has been displayed on my kitchen counter without exception now, for the whole time, right next to my coffee pot! I take it about half as often as I would like to, but I still take it several times a week, and I always remember it first thing, when my allergies start to creep up, or there are colds going around at work or in the family.

At the first sign of a sore throat, I begin to gargle with ACV (2 teaspoons in a 1/2 cup of water), and it goes away, very quickly, with no hint of further symptoms. If I start to sniffle or sneeze a bit, I get back to having 2 tablespoons per day, and I feel perfectly healthy again in no time. If I could remember to do it every single day, I don't think I'd ever get that sniffle to begin with! So for immunity and allergies... this stuff has positively changed my life, just as I've heard about from so many others. My allergies are dust, ragweed, and various animals including dogs. In particular, the fall was my worst season, featuring an unstoppable cough all season long, every night when I'd try to lay flat to go to bed. I could never get to sleep, and I'd keep everyone else awake with a non-stop wracking cough, and usually persistent sinus infections with tons of useless antibiotics. Since discovering the benefits of ACV, I've not coughed at all nor needed antibiotics ever since! So life-changing? JUST A LITTLE!!

Yes, it still tastes and smells pretty bad, but you are done with all of that in less than 20 seconds. Are you really such a wimp that you can't handle something minorly uncomfortable for as little as 20 seconds, when the results are so undeniable?!

So, yes, I love and swear by the ACV very strongly still, even if just for those uses, at the least. Others have worried that I am just saying all this to sell bottles of Apple Cider Vinegar, but I am certainly not! I'll happily repeat... this stuff is cheap! There are MANY brands that are just fine, so long as they are raw and have "the mother" in it. I've used 5 different brands over the past 2 years and have noticed no difference other than if one brand was cheaper than the other! So what do you have to lose? My attendance at work has been better than ever in my entire life, and I am now using my sick days for personal days off instead, or else I get a check at the end of the year because I didn't need to use them- I couldn't be happier!

Meanwhile, for weight-loss, and cholesterol, please read this review I've written:

I've given up sugar a month and a half ago, and lost 31 pounds (I still would like to lose another 30). The author calls it a diet, but it has changed my life already in so many ways in addition to the weight loss! I've learned that I have a dreadful addiction to sugar, and some people may not have as big a problem with it as I do, but sugar has zero benefit, and giving it up, while increasing fiber, has been nothing less than an exceptional experience! I think my ACV use has complimented my results as well! I'm not saying that you need to buy this book, but if you've think you might be addicted to sugar and cheap carbs too, I highly recommend you research what giving up sugar can do for you!

Hi everyone, I would like to tell you about my personal experiences with Apple cider Vinegar. After originally finding out about it trough this very site while trying to find the natural remedy for something called "molestum contagiosum" after our 4 year old sons doctor told us there was nothing they could give him, and his immune system would just have to deal with it in time :/

Let me tell you ACV worked a treat on these highly contagious, itchy horrible skin tag like things! Some of the skin tags had gotten quite large and itchy and my son had taken the tops off some of them from itching. I'd say it took approx 3 weeks for them to TOTALLY disappear. Ideally you should do it after a bath/shower to clean the area, but not essential.

So by just putting a little ACV in the bottle top and applying it with a cotton bud/ cue tip to each individual skin tag. Now I'm not going to lie and tell you this didn't sting him a bit, not to the point of tears or anything, just a slight burning that was quite easy to distract him from with sweets/messing about/focusing on the telly ;) The stinging doesn't last long , a minute or two.

After the 1st week they had started to scab ub, after week 2 the smaller ones had pretty much gone with the larger ones greatly reduced, and after week 3 the larger ones had COMPLETELY gone. Sowing know signs of them what so ever that they was ever there :) yes, no scaring, no surgery, no treatment from any doctor what so ever :-)

Since then I learnt more about ACV and tried it for various aliments for myself since.

For my ACID REFLUX this did not help. Knowing how my body is I have a good feeling that this was due to me having excess acid so was not right for me. This may have worked better for people with acid reflux due to NOT enough acid in there stomach.

For those of you with acid reflux I can tell you that my cure for this to come off tablets from the doctors for this was simply.... "Apples" Different apples will work differently on people, the best ones for me happen to be the "Pink Lady" variety. Eating as and when needed and unfortunately having to start watching what was my certain trigger foods in my diet. While reducing my trigger foods or certainly making sure I had apples to hand after my LOVELY chicken madras ;) Also while I was coming off the tablets from the doctor I was having a lot of part runny honey , part manuka honey to line my throat to give some protection to the burning sensation. ( some of you will no about the separate benefits of honey in itself )

I have not taken any tablets from the doctor in nearly two years now and never will again! I very rarely even have to eat the apples now, and if I do a couple of bites usually works, unless I have had something really bad to eat .... I.e anything with MSG in it . grrrrrrr :@

I have since tried ACV on my athletes foot, and just after a couple of days once or twice pasting it onto my feet with a brush, this was enough to stop the itching. I think you should do this for at least a week every day though to really make sure it goes. Lazyness and sticnking out the place with vinegar has been the only reason that stopped me doing it ;)

I can confirm that using 1 part ACV to 10 parts warm water ( idially distilled water ) makes a great face toner and great for spots!

I can also confirm that ACV is also great for muscle cramp. I forced ACV onto my mother after she was waking up most nights with server cramp in her calf muscles. After two nights of a cap full in some fruit juice of some kind ( better then just water, errr ) her cramps had stopped. This is due to the magnesium found in ACV

Thank you everybody wow I found this site 2 days ago, I am a mess. The surgeon damaged the nerves at the side of my knee when I had a new hip. I have arthritis all over me, my blood pressure can go high. Rotten sinus makes me miserable with the drip down back of throat. I took the first day's dose of apple cider vinegar yesterday, today my foot is swollen in my bad leg and my wrist is aching. I won't ever give up after reading so much fab stuff but wondered if my worsened aches were because of something already happening in my body.

I am originally from England so the vinegar tastes good to me like eating fish and chips. Yesterday's dose was taken late in the day 2 tblps of Apple Cider Vinegar in 8ozs of water, today I mixed up 20ozs with 2 tblps of acv. Did anyone else notice a few more pains when they first started drinking acc? My mother always used baking soda for heartburn I know that's good stuff and she would be a 100 yrs old now. Cheers.

I have been wanting to try ACV for a long time, I believe it could be beneficial for Me but am worried because of multiple health issues, I am Diabetic, Anemic, have Hypertension, Arthritis, Degenerative Disk, Gerd, am Overweight, and suffer from Neuropathy.

I take Lantus insulin, gabapentin, lisinopril, zoeloft, percocet, Lovastatin, Terbinafine, and methocarbamol.

My question is what are the risk with ACV all these Meds? And what if any are the benefits to bones?

I wrote previously to say how impressed I was with oil-pulling. Now I want to sing the praises of ACV. I'm a type O (blood), have never liked sour things and have always avoided vinegar. I recently reread my book and realized that ACV was approved for me. I have a lot of issues--candida, herpes, psoriasis and they have all been improved by taking ACV. My face was seriously broken out with psoriasis, a week ago, and I began applying ACV morning and night and drinking it several times a day in juice, water, whatever. My face is now completely cleared up. I also have a yeast rash almost all the time, from too much sugar, etc. That completely cleared up, too, also with topical application. I also applied it topically to a herpes site that was beginning to tingle and that went away, too. No constipation or bad side effects of any kind.

What I would like to point out is that everybody cannot expect to have the same results. That's the beauty of this site and the variety of experiences and remedies available. My other point is that attitude is everything. I never try things with the mindset that it "probably won't work"--why should it not? Sometimes, it's just a case of not having run across the right thing for you. However, people are often loth to admit the psychological aspects of illnesses and many people's specific illnesses are a huge clue about their lives, attitudes and personalities. I think the number one factor in getting well is the willingness to let go of whatever is wrong with you. Many people are dependent on their illnesses without realizing it and a frightening number of people are unwilling to do anything to help themselves. Maybe you will find these comments unappropriate for this website but I think they're valid and my hat is off to the people who organized this website and the people who write in, who have had the courage to try things and thereby help themselves and others. Finally, it is true that there is a period of adjustment before you really see a big change with any natural therapy. Never give up if results aren't immediate--unless, of course, something really drastic happens. I had a few really discouraging days but now I feel better than I have in as long as I can remember (I'm 65 years old.)

I recently started using ACV for a multitude of problems including joint pain and high blood pressure. I could not believe the results I got in just one week. My resting blood pressure dropped almost 10% and I have no pain at all anymore in my sholders or knees. My energy level hasn't been this high in a long time. I take 2 tsp of ACV in 8oz of a 50-50 mix of concord grape juice and lemonade with every meal. It tastes so good I actually look forward to having it. The sweetness of the grape juice combined with the sour of the lemonade hide the ACV completely. I also use grape juice and seltzer. I hope this helps.

I just had to tell others that have experienced stomach problems (had gallbladder removed 8 yrs. ago), sinus problems, allergies. asthma, and yeast infections that the acv has really changed my life! that is the organic acv from trader joe's! I had poop and gas problems. I had breathing problems too! I even got off my inhalers including my steroid! I am also trying to lose weight. I feel healthier and can walk and exercise more now. My social life had changed to not wanting to go out of the house or being away from the toilet! If you try a little bit to start, get used to it first. I was drinking one capful to one cup of water about three times a day. It has also led me to drink more water. I will let you know about weight loss as I am trying walking and taebo. By the way I was also having chronic fatigue, but when I drink the stuff faithfully, I feel great! (Also it helps your bowel to not smell bad.) So if you try it start small and dilute it. Don't burn yourself with it straight because it is a acid base. Good luck!

I started taking ACV for 3 weeks about 3 months ago without baking soda and it was fantastic, cleaned my whole system, having lots of energy, no pain, weight loss and etc. I am taking AVC+Baking soda now but it seems I don't get the same result as before, am I doing anything wrong here?????. However I recommend it to EVERYONE to please try it for at least 2 weeks , 3 times a day. 2 TBS in a cup of water upon rising, mid morning and mid afternoon. I thank Earth clinic for this site.

ACV, Honey, Cayenne pepper, & Garlic. It has improved my Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, and prevented Colds. It also gives me a sense of well-being. Keeps my weight under control.

I'm 87 yrs. old and feel great. I take this every moring in a cup of hot tea, any brand.

Recipe: 1/2 cup raw honey 1/2 cup AVC 2 cloves garlic, 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

Place in blender for a minute or less, and then put in a jar and refrigerate. Use two teaspoons every morning with a cup of hot water and tea. Drink this instead of coffee with your breakfast. The garlic taste diappears soon after eating. After using this, my vitals have improved immensely. I wouldn't be without it. I'm trying to get my wife to take it. It can't be beat!

Okay, the more pages I read, the more confused I get!! (I've got EBV, CMV, HHV-6, plus other stuff, so my brain doesn't work very well right now. And just had my first major AFib episode leading to hospitalization, which scared me to death.) My questions:

I read with great interest all the oil pulling information, but I started gagging right away. Then I read Ted's suggestion about pulling oil instead of oil pulling, but didn't understand that either. Is the "oil pulling" the granulated lecithin plus drinking baking soda in water three times a day?

And all the stuff about ACV and Baking soda: Are you supposed to DRINK it or just swish it around in your mouth like the oil pulling?

Thanks for any clarification. And by the way, if I look for an answer to my question, WHERE would I look for it? In "Real-Time Posts" ? Or under Oil Pulling, or under "ACV"???

Great web site! But may I suggest a search engine?

In reference to question from Angelclare: 2 things. there is a section on helping the gag reflex under oil pulling. also, in looking at your ailments, i would suggest reading the section on H202.

hello everyone, I just waned to say what a difference these health tips have made for me. this is the 1st fall season I have not come down with a head cold that went directly to my chest and lungsand I credit that to the acv, organic bs,and local raw honey. heat 4oz. of boiled water, and put bs,acv, and honey in that order(cuts down on fizz of bs). I've noticed some complaints from some about the acv's sour and burn, the bs and honey will change that (i'm diabetic and that tbsp does not raise my sugar either). It's 2or3 tbsp of acv, half or whole tsp of organic bs and tbspor half of raw(local)honey. This mixture has also helped my breathing (overweight and smoked for years) edema(swelling) in legs reduced to normal, acv w/diet has brought my sugar down 200pnts. go back and try the acv mix it can't hurt and will help. MANY BLESSINGS!

Hi: I came across this website after trying numerous prescribed and over the counter drugs for a bunch of problems I have. I must say the concept and the information on this website is priceless! Thanks for all the remedies people have posted here and their feedback's on it. I'm a new follower and I'm already impressed!

I'm currently taking black strap molasses for my lower back pain(I've had back pain since last 5 yrs. now). I take 2 tbsp in 2-3 ounce of water everyday, I read you could take it anyway as far as you're consuming 2 Tbsp/day. It's been couple of months taking BSM and I see the results very clearly, my back pain has reduced a lot and I feel much more energetic too!

I'm also taking ACV(Apple Cider Vinegar) for my severe pollen allergies. I tried taking the amount given on earth's clinic website, but seems like my body is too acidic (My acid reflux problem increased to the extent that I couldn't take it anymore). Then I read Ted's comments and realized that adding some baking soda to it will help. So this is what I've started taking now and it seems to work fine for me so far.

2 Tbsp ACV in 32 ounce water with 1/2 a tsp baking soda. I make this mixture twice and keep drinking it all day long. It's only been a week with this new mixture and it seems to help me fight my allergies well already!

I also tried oil pulling today with 1 tbsp of sesame oil and 2 drops of wild oregano oil. I did it for about 12 mins.(which is the max. I could do on my first day) so I coudln't achieve the foamy/white color. But I sure will keep trying!

I would like to thank everyone for the continous support and look forward to reading more remedies/cures for a healthy living.
