Rather than mix my ACV with baking soda, why can't I just brush my teeth afterward with baking soda? That's what I usually use for toothpaste, anyway, often mixed in with Tom's no fluoride toothpaste.

Since reading about how AVC helps with blood sugar levels, I've been drinking it with water. I've also noticed a decrease in migraine headaches, and it seems to help my asthma. Also, if I've just eaten a bunch of sugar on a craving thing, I follow it up with AVC in water, and I feel better about my binge, mentally and physically.

I am a 44 yr old female with Type 2 diabetes, HBP and osteoarthritis. I had almost given up on myself until 2 months ago. I found your site and started taking ACV hoping for relief from arthritis pain (2 tbs 3x a day mixed with apple juice). The first 3 days were rough, I felt pretty bad. Then I started feeling better. Not only has ACV helped ease the arthritis pain, but it has also lowered my blood pressure and my blood sugar levels have also dropped! My average was 135 and it is now 108! I've even lost some weight! I feel like I have a new found energy and my sleep patterns have improved! I don't have food cravings anymore and my complexion looks great too. I can't say enough about how ACV has helped me. I have told several of my friends about this site. They too are having success with many of the remedies posted here. May I also say that I started Black Strap Molasses at the same time (1 tbs once a day with 5 oz milk). My period was very heavy with lots of large clots and lasted for almost 2 weeks. I was always weak and light-headed during my period. I am happy to report that my last period was only 7 days! The first 3 days were still heavy but it tapered off to normal. The light-headed feeling is gone too. I am so glad I found this website. I feel like I am becoming the person I used to be when I was younger and I am very happy with the changes.

Avoid Artificial Sweeteners

Artificial Sweetners send blood sugar sky high. I have had diabetes for a few years. I control my diabetes with excercise and diet. In order to find out which things have an effect on my blood sugar, I test my blood often and I have noted that the only time it goes way higher than it should is when I drink diet soda or when I eat anything with artificial sweetners.

Raw Food Diet

My husband developed non-healing sores (but not dangerous) on his leg near the ankle. They kept on getting bigger and were there for about a half year. He also had a bit of sugar in his blood. After going to doctors and trying many things, "Une boot wraps" is what helped heal the sores. Using these wraps was very painful the first few weeks, but they worked.

At the same time, someone mentioned seeing in a book*, a fasting program, that helps heal such sores. The Health food stores didn't have the book and the fasting program seemed hard. Other fasting programs also seemed to be a possibility. Since the sores healed before the books were bought, none of the fasting programs were attempted.

Recently, after getting a knock on the foot, the problem started to come back. There were two sores that were getting bigger. Instead of a fast, we (a few members of the family) began a mostly raw food cleansing program, eating raw fruit and vegetables throughout the day (after the first week, including figs and nuts and seeds) and eating one warm, cooked meal in the evening. The cooked meal being very simply, grilled fish and vegetable soup or chicken soup with cooked chicken and vegetables, including carrots, celery, onions, garlic, parsley root, sweet potato, asparagus and so on. No flour or corn starch was used in the soup to thicken it and no oils. Sometimes a cooked potato was included. Bread and grain flour products were also avoided. Milk and hard cheese was avoided. Unheated, unrefined olive oil was used occasionally on salads or other vegetables. This was meant to be a cleansing program, easier than a fast but cleansing nevertheless. One day a week, a variety of regular foods, including Challah, was eaten in moderation. At this point, several weeks into the program my husbands sores are almost completely gone, the sugar is completely gone, his heart feels stronger and he is able to walk more easily and faster. Thank you for letting me share this Rache

Book Recommendation

I have used ACV for thh past 4 weeks and it is providing some help with my bp readings.I also contacted others from this site who were quite helpful. Now I want to suggest additional help ina book called "Good Calories Bad Calories" by Gary Taubes. The book provides an excellent explanation of how insulin effects the body metabolism. It also offers extensiive information about research sugar, obesity, and high carbo diets. Based on his research high carb diets are directly linked to obesity. The book provides an excellent explanation of hypertension, how it effects the body and also presents research on salt and hypertension. There are so many myths surrounding nutrition and heart disease that we all should spend time reading this book. No doctor will ever be so thorough in their explanation of how our liver handles fat and sugar. By reading this book I was able to create a diet which is helping to bring down my hypertension. I am/was insuline resistent.
