I have taken Acv for a week now. My blood sugar has dropped from high 200's to between 90 and 120...I have lost 10 pounds in a week! Amazing! To protect my teeth, I use a straw and the Acv doesn't get in contact with my teeth. So grateful!

Soleus Pushup - (not just for diabetes)

Discovered this discovery yesterday around noon and did soleus pushups, sitting at my desk, off and on the whole day and then up to bedtime, slept like a log and feel...different this morning. Not sure how as I nearly always feel good. It's just different. Like my batteries have been recharged or something.

Rather than make a whole long post about what I've found so far, I strongly suggest everyone google soleus pushup +University of Houston or search youtube and watch the University of Houston or Dr. Sean Hashmi or any of the other informational videos that come up.

I'm a little bit shocked that the information is out in the open. It almost smells like a hoax but upon further investigation...it looks more like a leak. I don't know but try it. See if you can find a satisfying adjective to describe how you feel the next day. I can't. It's subtle but also not subtle. I suppose, if I was diabetic or ill, the effect might be more defined...

EC: "Neuroscientists at the University of Houston have made a potentially ground-breaking discovery for human health. In a new study they showed for the first time that a very light and focused muscle exercise, dubbed the 'soleus push-up', can dramatically boost the body's metabolism and rate of oxygen consumption." Fenugreek Tea, Chromium Picolinate

I reversed two of my friends diabetes (type 2) in one month without pills.

Whatever you do, do not take Metformin it is dangerous and unnecessary!!

Cinnamon, as you point out is very good (make sure it is true Ceylon) - a couple of other things that are excellent is a small amount of fenugreek in tea every day NB: don't take too much (a small bit does the trick anyway) as it can cause an odour to be excreted from your skin and arm pits that supposedly resembles maple syrup if you have too much.

Another excellent aid is chromium picolinate - this is very cheap and works well.

The reason that I researched this subject was because I was diagnosed as being pre-diabetic after I underwent tests as I was feeling so fatigued and like death warmed up every morning I went to see my doctor (in Thailand). He diagnosed a long list of what I had wrong with me, including inflammation, being pre-diabetic, having high cholesterol, moderately high blood pressure, 20% NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease), metabolic syndrome, spastic colon, leaky gut syndrome. IBS and elevated liver enzyme markers!!! Other than that I was perfectly healthy. After the shock had died down I waited for the normal goody bag of pills that Thai doctors normally give you, even for minor ailments.

Instead he delivered the best advice I have ever received from a doctor!! He said, right, that is what is wrong with you, do you have access to the internet? to which I replied yes, of course, he said " then go away, research it and fix yourself". I left the hospital with zero pills (which was great)!

Within the month after a rigorous regime of supplements, vitamins, minerals, moderate sunshine exposure (very important this), dietary changes and some exercise my fatty liver had disappeared, likewise, no inflammation, my blood sugar levels were normal, blood pressure was down to 110/70 (from 135/85), my liver markers showed as normal, cholesterol levels dropped too low from 269 to 180 (200 is viewed as optimal) Nb: my LDL halved and triglycerides level as good as halved as well!!

I woke up in the morning feeling like a 30 year old instead of an 80 year old (I am nearly 60). I do not get tired or fatigued any more and feel fantastic.

Hi Cindy,

Fascinating! I watched the videos and figure, no harm!

Today I was taking a break in a rocking chair and realized one naturally does these “push ups” as part of rocking!

Over the summer I posted about rocking chair benefits. Maybe these “push ups” contribute to the benefit!

Add a pinch of baking soda to the vinegar and it will keep from affecting your teeth but will still lower your blood sugar.

Ted's Alkalizing Remedies

Been fighting 2 issues: Kidney pain, stones and blood in urine, and PreDiabetes.

Morning blood sugars are 130-150. Lots of weight gain in last few months all around my upper mid section and no change in my diet or routine. I use stevia, not sugar, and do not eat a lot of junk. I generally only eat once per day. I have been taking home made kefir, inulin, cod liver oil, chromium, biotin, flax seed, chlorophyll for a month and my sugar never budges below 120 even though I only eat 1 meal per day.

Finally woke up this morning and my urine was pure blood, fasting sugar 130. My urine will not even change the color of a pH strip it is so acidic.

After re-reading all Ted's posts on kidneys, I went in and made his PH remedy:

  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 tsp Citric Acid
  • 1/8 tsp Potassium Bicarbonate
  • 1/2 glass Distilled Water

In about 45 minutes, I went to bathroom and pH strip was now registering about 6.7...not great but much better...

Curiously, I checked my sugar and it was 99!!!! I had just eaten supper less than 2 hours before and I can't remember the last time I had a sugar reading below 120 even after fasting.

So getting the pH alkalized had an IMMEDIATE impact on my sugar. I will continue his remedy twice per day and adjust amounts till I get the PH to at least 7 and I pray this is going to be the long term cure to both issues!!!

Recently diagnosed as a Type 2. Used Gluc meter to test results of Metaformin and then Metaformin with Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV).

Taking 500mg of Metaformin in the morning and at night. Blood sugar 2 hrs. after the meal 110 - 115. In addition to Metaformin, if I take 2 TBS of ACV before the meal using a 1:5 ratio mixed with water, my blood sugar is 93 - 95 2hrs. after a meal.

Went without Metaformin and ACV at night and 3 hours after the meal, the blood sugar was 130. Before bed, took Metaformin and 2TBS of ACV. Morning reading before Breakfast was 86.

2 TBS of ACV before meals and bedtime is very effective at controlling my blood sugar. Before meals, it drives the 2 hour post reading down and additional 10 -15 points than when just using Metaformin. Before bedtime, I drives the blood sugar 20-30 points than when just using Metaformin.

Be careful not to drive your blood sugar too low using this before bedtime. I woke up one day with reading of 71. Find that balance point for yourself.

Thanks to the clarity and simple instruction Keely provided at 2:26 AM, with blood sugar showing 226 (non fasting), I took 3 tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar in 12 oz water with 1/2 packet of stevia. Then, at 4:23 AM, I checked my glucose again. It was down to 200. Slept from that time (no exercise) until 7:30 am and at 8:28 I tested fasting bs and found it at 138. AMAZING!!! Metformin can't touch this performance. THANKS Keely! I will keep this up and see how it goes over the next month.

Raw Potato

Resistant Starch/Raw Potato for High Blood Sugar and Diabetes:

Raw Potato and several other foods contain resistant starch which significantly lowers blood sugar. Just Google "resistant starch blood sugar" for more info. It works. Just a few bites of raw potato will do it. They also sell potato starch which you can mix into a drink. DO NOT EAT LARGE AMOUNTS OF RAW POTATO. I don't think it would kill you or anything but resistant starch is an anti-nutrient so more is not better and I'd guess you could get an upset stomach from too much. Diabetes drugs also have their drawbacks so I still think this is worth doing. Obviously do NOT eat any part of the potato that's green or sprouted. That part is poisonous. Again, just Google "resistant starch" for more info.

My blood glucose was 241 last night. I took three teaspoons of ACV in a glass of water, added two packs of stevia which is also suppose to lower blood sugar. I then exercised, nothing that big, but I invested in a kettlebell. $29 bucks. I did some kettle bell swings, a little arm work, you know, just enough to get my heart beating a little fast, but really I didnt do that much. I tested an hour later and my blood sugar was 121!! I couldnt believe it! I woke up this morning, tested and my blood sugar is 122!! Its been a long time since my blood sugar has been that low upon waking!! This will be my new routine every night!!

I found this to be true for me, too!

Today I ate a lot of candy, then a pretty large meal with carbs. I then drank a half glass of water with a tablespoon of ACV and checked my blood sugar...wow, it went down over 20 points.

AFTER THE VINEGAR MY BLOOD PRESSURE IS NOW 127/70 AND MY SUGAR IS BETWEEN 80 & 100. IT WENT DOWN AFTER ABOUT FIVE DAYS. IT ALSO HELPS CHOLESTEROL.

Today is my first day on ACV. My post-prandial sugar was off the charts. I would hit 200's and come down slowly. My A1C has never been less than 6.6. Yesterday (2/11/15), my pp sugar was 172 after 2.5 hours. I also took one glipizide (5mg) before food and 1000 mg of metformin after.

I read about the benefits of ACV in this forum and buy the one with mother in it. Two spoons of ACV diluted and had before food. I also took metformin 500 mg before and after food. (Didn't want to stop suddenly) 1 hr after lunch sugar was 125.2 hrs after lunch, sugar was 118.3hrs later, sugar is 134. This tells me that sugar is being released slowly into the blood stream. Interestingly, I typically work out(not a lot) everyday. Today, I did not and still got this result. I can only imagine the effect, if I were to actually work out.

As an aside, how do you guys manage to drink ACV before lunch at work?

Thai Herb Kratom

I have not been able to get my prescription for metaformin renewed due to no insurance and the cost of blood test etc. (I am trying to get into services of the free clinic)

My problem is that I am 320 pounds, and without the metaformin my blood sugar avers at 190 to 200 in the morning.(this is with an hour walking everyday)

My son gave me an herb called Kratom. I have reserached the amount and caution for the effects, etc. Last night I took a teaspoon before I went to bed and my blood sugar was 126 this morning. I got the same results a few days ago when I went to bed with 250 blood sugar, the next morning it was 135.

I would like to take small portions of this herb, maybe every other day, just teaspoon at night to help keep my blood sugar low until I can get a prescription for metaformin. (I takes about two months to get into free clinic here)

My question: would this be a safe way to keep my blood sugar balanced? ( also take 250 g of effexor, but have researched and it seems safe with my medication.) I would appreciate any information on this. Thank you.

Coconut Oil

Eating 1 T of virgin coconut oil and then doing moderate exercise like walking for 15 to 30 min will also bring your BS down possibly even more than ACV. ACV does nothing for me but VCO will bring me into the 80's from 170. If you read Dr. Richard Bernstein or Ron Rosedale you will learn that eating that a high carb roll is really bad for you and not woth doing because it is whipping your beta cells to produce more insulin and they will eventually burn out and die and then you will become a type 1 diabetic and need insulin.

Raw Food Diet

My husband developed non-healing sores (but not dangerous) on his leg near the ankle. They kept on getting bigger and were there for about a half year. He also had a bit of sugar in his blood. After going to doctors and trying many things, "Une boot wraps" is what helped heal the sores. Using these wraps was very painful the first few weeks, but they worked.

At the same time, someone mentioned seeing in a book*, a fasting program, that helps heal such sores. The Health food stores didn't have the book and the fasting program seemed hard. Other fasting programs also seemed to be a possibility. Since the sores healed before the books were bought, none of the fasting programs were attempted.

Recently, after getting a knock on the foot, the problem started to come back. There were two sores that were getting bigger. Instead of a fast, we (a few members of the family) began a mostly raw food cleansing program, eating raw fruit and vegetables throughout the day (after the first week, including figs and nuts and seeds) and eating one warm, cooked meal in the evening. The cooked meal being very simply, grilled fish and vegetable soup or chicken soup with cooked chicken and vegetables, including carrots, celery, onions, garlic, parsley root, sweet potato, asparagus and so on. No flour or corn starch was used in the soup to thicken it and no oils. Sometimes a cooked potato was included. Bread and grain flour products were also avoided. Milk and hard cheese was avoided. Unheated, unrefined olive oil was used occasionally on salads or other vegetables. This was meant to be a cleansing program, easier than a fast but cleansing nevertheless. One day a week, a variety of regular foods, including Challah, was eaten in moderation. At this point, several weeks into the program my husbands sores are almost completely gone, the sugar is completely gone, his heart feels stronger and he is able to walk more easily and faster. Thank you for letting me share this Rache

I am a 44 yr old female with Type 2 diabetes, HBP and osteoarthritis. I had almost given up on myself until 2 months ago. I found your site and started taking ACV hoping for relief from arthritis pain (2 tbs 3x a day mixed with apple juice). The first 3 days were rough, I felt pretty bad. Then I started feeling better. Not only has ACV helped ease the arthritis pain, but it has also lowered my blood pressure and my blood sugar levels have also dropped! My average was 135 and it is now 108! I've even lost some weight! I feel like I have a new found energy and my sleep patterns have improved! I don't have food cravings anymore and my complexion looks great too. I can't say enough about how ACV has helped me. I have told several of my friends about this site. They too are having success with many of the remedies posted here. May I also say that I started Black Strap Molasses at the same time (1 tbs once a day with 5 oz milk). My period was very heavy with lots of large clots and lasted for almost 2 weeks. I was always weak and light-headed during my period. I am happy to report that my last period was only 7 days! The first 3 days were still heavy but it tapered off to normal. The light-headed feeling is gone too. I am so glad I found this website. I feel like I am becoming the person I used to be when I was younger and I am very happy with the changes.

Cinnamon
Posted by Moe (Apple Valley) on 08/26/2016

Yes. Cinnamon does help but it needs to be the Ceylon type and not the Cassia that is the most common one found in the supermarkets. A half teaspoon is the recommended dose. The cheaper Cassia cinnamon has high levels of coumarin and can be toxic to the liver if taken excessively. You can buy the Ceylon at most health food stores or order it online. I too have had amazing results with cinnamon but will be buying the Ceylon which is safe.
