I've had absolutely no success with it. I tested blood sugar fasting and it was 210. Ate two bites of a raw potato and tested blood sugar 15 minutes later 218. Checked again 30 minutes later 218. How does it work for you?

Thank you, Tim! I've just started taking 1000mcg of Chromium (Picolinate) in the morning. I always use coconut oil, so I'm happy to hear that's a good protocol too! I'm not sure if the Picolinate is the right Chromium, so if you have a suggestion I would really love that. I will keep you updated on progress. I'd also read that excess cortisol can be responsible for blood sugar issues, high blood pressure, etc., so I'm looking for something that will help lower that naturally too. :)

RP: Yes, the picolinate form of Chromium is best, and ideally add 500mg Niacinamide or Inositolhexaniacinate (flush free forms of Niacin) with it (for best results). You can buy Cinnamon in capsules but in my case is irritating on the tummy so I take an herbal sugar-aid complex of Cinnamon/Gymnema/Mulberry which works fine.

To reduce cortisol increase anti-inflammatory foods or herbs like Pineapple, Ginger, Turmeric, and add anti-stress techniques like Meditation, Yoga, and Relaxing Music or Frequency Harmonics for the body & mind.

I have a friend with diabetes who recently started using shilajit fulvic acid and found that he could eat a Snickers bar with a blood sugar reading of 100, and the blood sugar wouldn't rise. He said that previously when he would eat after a blood test his reading would be 156. I wondered if anyone else had this happen?

I take 1/2 teaspoon of raw honey. It does not affect the sugar level. In this protocol, the key ingredients priority wise are ACV followed by Cinnamon and then honey. Try with or without honey and monitor the sugar readings. You should be able to answer your own question.

Fenugreek Tea, Chromium Picolinate

Steve from Thailand --- for me at least, this is one of the best posts I have read. Congrats!

I have done the same a while ago and never see a doctor unless I were to break a bone. You are so right. Other dr.s tell patients this is a life long disease, etc. If one is a healer, how can that be.

I am using apple vinegar + Lemon with glass of water in the morning first thing in the morning. In day time, half hour before food two table spoon with glass of water.

In night, two table spoon with glass of water before dinner just half hour before and half hour after the dinner at the bed time again with glass of water.

I am using since one week.

Result is, there is not much effect on diabetes but surely no more weakness. Diabetes is still high aroung 180 to 200 in fasting.

please suggest how to improve much.

Hi all, I was researching about the effect of honey on blood sugar levels, I am not Diabetic but other Family members are. But that wasn't the reason for my search either it was to do with another health matter. Anyway I found this information on the Informa Health care website, and it says honey is OK for Diabetics.

So I'm posting the information below ( RAW NOT NORMAL STORE HONEY) so you can read it for yourself.

Love Andrea C xxx

At Informa Healthcare, we answer your need for fast, convenient access to high-quality, high-impact scientific research.

Effects of natural honey consumption in diabetic patients: an 8-week randomized clinical trial Objectives. We investigated the effect of natural honey on body weight and some blood biochemical indices of diabetic subjects.

Methods Forty-eight diabetic type 2 patients were randomly assigned into two groups: the honey group received oral natural honey for 8 weeks, and the control group did not take honey. Before the onset of the study (week 0) and after 8 weeks, weight measurements were taken and fasting blood samples were drawn.

Results After adjustment for the baseline values, there were no significant differences in the fasting blood sugars between the two groups. Body weight, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol and triglyceride decreased (P = 0.000), and high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol increased significantly (P < 0.01) in honey group. The levels of hemoglobin A1C increased significantly in this group (P < 0.01).

Conclusion The results of this study demonstrate that 8-week consumption of honey can provide beneficial effects on body weight and blood lipids of diabetic patients. However, since an increase in the hemoglobin A1C levels was observed, cautious consumption of this food by diabetic patients is recommended.

Urine Therapy
Posted by Aravin (Banglore, Karnataka, India) on 07/17/2012

Hi All, This is my first post to the group. Could someone please advice, if drinking urine has any effects on reducing blood sugar level. I have been practicing this for almost two months now. Everytime I go for a test I drink a glass of urine and check the sugar level and it gives a good result to me and the sugar level are well in control at around 100-120. But sometimes I feel due to over stress my sugar level rises. Do I need to follow urine threapy my whole life for a complete cure for this disease? Or is it enough if I just continue for a couple of more months? Thanks in advance.

I am a fan of using apple cider vinegar! I have never used it for back pain relief but I make a drink mixture weekly to use for my blood sugar. I am diabetic, and it helps to regulate blood sugar levels! I have a recipe that I think it pretty good and will taste better than the one listed here. Try this:

1 1/2 cup water

2 tablespoons raw Apple Cider Vinegar

1 Stevia packet

1 tablespoon on cinnamon

enjoy!

Stabilizing Blood Sugar Level
Posted by Sherri (Cicero, In, Usa) on 09/09/2010

I have been told that I may have fluctuating blood sugar levels because I lost my appetite and do not eat much at all. I have anxiety that begins shortly after waking up until when I go to bed (I take medication for sleep that deadens the anxiety). I also have shakiness and a bit of nausea. A friend told me to eat 6 small meals or snacks each day to begin and then move into 3 meals and 3 small snacks once I am able to eat more. She suggested that I eat maybe some cheese and 4 or 5 crackers but to eat the protein first. Is this the right thing to do? Also, how long does it take to stablize your blood sugar? I appreciate all assistance as I am developing headaches, low grade fevers, and severe fatigue. I am tired of feeling the way I do but not sure how to find my way out. Thanks to all and Thank You to Earth Clinic. Sherri

Hi Sherri, I would also add hard boiled eggs and lean meats to that list, and some veggies and whole grain crackers maybe. This is assuming you are not gluten intolerant or allergic to eggs of course. I would research taking large doses of vitamin C (I take about 3-4 grams a day and it seems to make me feel better). I was reading on here about 5-HTP the other day, and it sounds like something you might want to read about. It can be found under the "supplements" section as well. It sounds promising for anxiety, and I am going to try it. Good luck to you, and let us know how it is going. Thinking good thoughts, Carly

Question: Has anyone noticed a difference in blood sugar reading when testing upon waking in the morning, before and after brushing with regular toothpaste? Mine seems higher after brushing. I know the toothpast have sugar products in it but doesn't it take at least half to 1 hour for sugar to reach the bloodstream? Please explain.

General Feedback
Posted by Cynthia (Jacksonville, Alabama) on 04/19/2010

Most all toothpastes contain glycerin, even brands from the health food store. Glycerin is a kind of a sugar and stays on your teeth a long time. It actually breaks down the enamel. I found from the internet that using dissolved sea salt and water for brushing works very well and helps heal the teeth. My teeth used to be sensitive but the sea salt prevents that. It makes sense that toothpaste made with glycerin could affect someone's blood sugar.

Peppermint Oil

Expirement with peppermint tea. As a bonus you get the water intake you don't get with the oil. Peppermint is known to lessen appetite, could it be due to the influence on sugars?

Cinnamon
Posted by Richmond (Orlando, Florida) on 06/25/2009

Using Cinnamon to reduce Glucose Levels.

I have read much research on the internet that shows 3-6 grams per day of Cinnamon included in the daily diet will reduce Glucose levels. It consistently states that regular, daily intake of cinnamon improves glucose control and cholesterol levels in people with type 2 diabetes. 3-6 grams of Cinnamon would be approximately the tip of a teaspoon.

I also saw that other factors can also raise or lower your Blood Glucose levels.

FOOD: Bread, pasta, rice, pastry, and some types of fruits and vegetables can all contribute to a rise in blood sugar. Research this on the internet to see what works for best you.

EXERCISE: Even the smallest amount of daily exercise can help to lower blood glucose levels. I suggest that you work a little exercise into your daily schedule - walk more, park your car a little further away from the store, use the stairs instead of the elevator.

SUNLIGHT: Low levels of vitamin D in the body have been linked to insulin insensitivity and lowered glucose tolerance. Sitting in full sunlight for 20 to 30 minutes, at least three times a week, can help maintain calcium levels and help lower blood glucose levels.

Hopefully one or two of these will appeal to you and you will use them.

Does anyone know where Koritje cinnamon come from? Does it come from Sri Lanka? It's the only kind our health store carries, and I'm wondering if it's the right kind, with low coumarin levels. Thank you.

Try the remedy again without the honey. Honey made my bloodsugar spike too (I used to add it to tea a few times a day)... now I only use raw sugar, no more than 1 teaspoon at a time. But I suggest you try ACV without any sweetener unless it's something like stevia.

Hi, I have a question about the stevia. Do you buy the natural green stevia, or the one processed that comes like white sugar? Thank you

Apple Cider Vinegar
Posted by Om (Hope, Bc Canada) on 03/09/2015

Hello, Neena --- when buying Stevia one must be very careful. They mix it with these dangerous sweeteners that change their name every so often to fool the public. It does not have to be the green product but ask questions and see the print.

Just thought I'd warn you because when I got to know this, I was amazed at the way the consumer is cheated. Try a health store and good luck. Namaste Om

Dear Neena,

I use Now Original Stevia Extract. It comes in a bottle with an eyedropper lid. It doesn't have anything extra in it. (You can buy it as an alcohol extract or a glycerin extract. I have used both.) And a drop or two is all I need in tea. A 2 ounce bottle lasts me a very long time.

The white powder stuff has other fillers in it and some people react to that.

I tried taking the vinegar in water and was disappointed as I had no change in my glucose reading. Yesterday I made a salad for lunch and dinner and added shredded Chicken, garlic and Ginger, with a dressing of Olive Oil and ACV. This morning my glucose was down from 11.5 to 7.8 [Canadian]. I haven't had a reading that low for many months. I hope this will continure. Oh, and in between meals I drank 1 cup of Fenugreek tea, and 2 glasses of water with Husks.

Hope this helps you,
Joan

I am using my medication and diet but it is very frustrating. I do not want to go on insulin. any suggestions?

Editor's Choice

I have tried apple cider vinegar in the past with mixed results. I have diabetes and take insulin. When I started taking ACV before I was taking 1 tablespoon and it really did lower my blood sugar - in fact, I had to make sure that I ate enough carbs or it would be too low - like in the 40's. also it was giving me very bad gas. I was taking it in a glass of water 2x a day and my teeth were becoming sensitive.

Well, I started taking it again - but this time in a much smaller dose. now i put it in a dropper bottle and take a dropper - approx. 1/2 - 1 teaspoon and i put it in the back of my throat so it doesn't touch my teeth.

This works much better for me and I do get some of the blood sugar lowering effects - but what I really noticed is that in the morning my face is not puffy. It also makes me pee a lot more and i just feel 'cleaner'. It seems like my body is 'clearer' or something. And at this dosage it isn't giving me gas. I do this 2 times a day and maybe i will be able to work up to more eventually - but for now this is helping me.

I am new at this, after being overweight for about a 6 months I joined a gym to start working out. BUT..I found out today from my fasting blood test my sugar level was 285, thats scary. Since I am new at this does this ACV stuff really work? I plan to work at losing 50 lbs in the gym. I know it will be tough but I know I can do it. I just hope all these claims about ACV is correct.

My blood sugar was consistantly 126, which is high pre- diabetic. I read the results of several cinnamon trials and began taking three 500 mg. capsules of it around two years ago. My fasting blood sugar dropped to between 89 -103, and has remained at that level. I am tested at a local senior citizens center once a month. It is a finger-stick test. A serum test once was 106.
