NEVER use ice on the burn! I was scalded and the EMS came and they said that is dangerous, you can cause frostbite on the burn. Cold water is the accepted remedy. Aloe (prefer fresh) works wonders.

I was cutting some metal with a torch and forgot i had just cut it and laid it to the side and was cutting another piece when i put my hand down on the one i just got done, cutting the skin instantly... discolored to a sickly grey color from the burn - had a bottle of apple cider vinegar and water i had been drinking. i grabbed it and poured it on the burn. shortly after, most of the pain went away but amazingly it never blistered. worked for me.

Local Medicinal Oil: Mow Sun Medical Oil

This is one of the few traditional medical oils that I found in Malaysia that has very good healing power on minor burns like hot water, hot oven, fire burnt. It really surprised me when i first used it because you will not get swollen finger or hand with fluid inside if you apply on the surface immediately after the burn. Furthermore, the pain will disappear in less than 5 mins. And, your skin will not rip off however, when the skin totally recover it will just peel off naturally without any pain. Please be sure u apply it immediately after the burn, else the effectiveness will be lower.

I got a large burn from a motorcycle exhaust. I did not blister or scar with iodine on it. I keep a bottle in the kitchen by the stove, and in bathroom for curling iron burn. And ammonia for insect bites, stings.

After burning my thumb badly on the oven, I soaked it in organic apple cider vinegar for a few minutes and the severe pain stopped immediately! Within an hour I completely forgot I had even burned myself -- I couldn't feel a thing. And no scar!

My best friend's mom swears ASV works on burns. When I recently burned my thumb on the oven I immediately poured some in a small cup and soaked my thumb in it for awhile and sure enough!.....no burn pain, no scarring!

I have worked as a waitress for many years, as a waitress you always seem to burn yourself. Every waitress I have come across agrees that if you happen to burn yourself, apply milk to the burn. It truly does work.
