Effective Natural Remedies for Tooth Abscess Relief

Turpentine

I can tell you for a fact Turpentine works for a tooth abscess. I had a huge blister on side of the gum where the abscess was and so much pain and soreness. I'd take the turpentine and hold it in the mouth directly where the infected tooth was for up until I couldn't stand it any longer snd spit it out. It needs to be undilute 100% pure pine gum spirits of turpentine (Diamond G Forests has the BEST in my opinion).

Also if you can start using chlorine dioxide solution as s mouth was and add w few drops of DMSO right before you're going to use it because DMSO deactivates the Chlorine Dioxide within hours of mixing the two. If you're only using the Turpentine I'd say continue to use it until the infection is gone but shouldn't take long.

You should see some improvement within a few days but I'd use it multiple times. But it's also crucial to ensure there's no food stuck between or in a crack of a tooth. A Waterpik on semi low or higher if it doesn't cause too much pain in your mouth really really helps.

This sounds great but do you think the poster from 2008 really used baking yeast or was it actually baking soda?

Silicea

To start, I have used multiple remedies, but I feel if I had used the silicea from the start, it would not have got so bad (in and out of consciousness, I had to go to ER & get an antibiotic injection). The next day, before attempting oral antibiotic orally, I began taking Silicea and within 3 hours, began filling like myself again.:

1. pain in root of tooth, garlic helped (chew clove every 20 mins, spit, drank water) for 3 days.

2. given full mouth debridement, the pain left root, now felt in the base of the tooth, new batch of garlic was old, plus tongue burned.

3. body pains, head pain, nausea, no choice but to go to ER though I had just ordered Silicea, antibiotic injection, side effects of red itchy eye and almost threw up,

4. Activated coconut carbon paste on a tissue on a bad tooth overnight. Still didn't feel too great. Did org sunflower seed oil pulling (figured out how to do it right), felt great in terms of clarity of thought & can visibly see and feel gum line improving in the whole mouth,

5. began sipping on colloidal silver (CS), felt better but not yet myself, am continuing to put it on a paper towel and over the tooth,

6. 5 pastilles silicea under the tongue, 15 mins after and before eating, within 3 hours returning to myself

Will continue CS on gum bc the tooth tries to get infected after I eat, even after brushing

Also, I will continue sunflower seed oil pulling to help the gum line get to where it needs to be, so maybe I can avoid getting a root canal, which I'm trying to avoid. The tooth that got infected has an exposed root, and I wonder if it also has an old filling.

* I firmly feel that if I had begun the Silicea in the beginning, as well as the CS and proper oil pulling, it would never have got bad enough to go to the ER. Grateful to be on the mend and will update if a root canal is avoided.

Elderberry
Posted by Pascale (Limoges, France) on 11/01/2020

I have to add that the vinegar for the salt, vinegar and cloves mixture is CIDER vinegar.

As for the elderberry, I use the flowers of the kind (sambucus nigra) that blooms in Spring. They help sweating and getting rid of a fever also. The berries can also be used for jam.

There is another elderberry (sambucus ebulus) that blooms in late Summer. It is supposed to be (mildly) toxic but there is very little chance of confusing them.

I have just recently recovered from a very painful cavity and abcess under a molar. I had to cope with the pain for 2 weeks because I could not go to the dentist since nobody was available and also, they request that you wear a mask and I will not.

I was also very tired at the time, and was running a fever. I suspect that the abcess had formed, burst and infected me, causing the fever.

During the two weeks I tried several home made remedies :

- green clay, my absolute favorite, was partly disappointing : I used it dry and directly on the gum and it worked ok until the real pain came and then I could not stand the clay anymore on direct contact. It seemed to aim at the nerve and the pain got out of control. I then used the clay as a poultice on the cheek and it did ok but was not the best remedy, for once ;

- sea salt, vinegar and powder of cloves was used to rinse frequently and contain the infection. It helped a lot.

- oil of cloves (one drop) mixed with a thick oil (5 drops of castor oil or hazelnut oil in my case) worked very nicely and contained most of the pain ; I applied it directly on the tooth and gum ;

- elderberry flowers, as a herb tea mixed with mint was great ; elderberry acts as a natural antibiotic for staphylococcus and other ...coccus bacteria. I drank several cups a day and this remedy got rid of the infection quickly enough and for good.

I must add that after 15 days I ended up seeing the dentist (without a mask) ; she kept me over an hour, stuck the needle five times in my tooth, made me swallow lots of anesthetics and disinfectant (the coronavirus procedure does not allow you to spit anymore...) and was unable to confirm the abcess. I was about ok the following day but a week after the treatment, the pain had returned as bad as ever. This is when I added the elderberry tea to my home treatment as I did not trust the antibiotics she had recommended (generic penicillin).

As a conclusion, I think that there are other options for taking care of our teeth that seeing a dentist that agressively treats the tooth itself. It is possible to take care of tooth pain or gum disease without drilling the tooth or hurting the gum. And yes, even a very bad pain from cavity or abcess can be successfully treated.

Thanks for your other remedies. I am keeping a note on all these for future reference.

I love Earth Clinic.

DMSO, Nascent Iodine, Garlic

ANON, ORH here, DMSO is one of the most powerful solvents there is. It also just happens to have sulfur in the compound. So it is sulfur..... means what? As a Ch E, I don't understand. Normally DMSO is used to carry another compound to the problem. We use it daily to carry liniment to an ailing muscle. If the topic you are addressing is an infected tooth, then Bill solved that problem with turpentine. It worked for me and many of my friends. Anon, you are right...... DMSO is a solvent that all should use. Just understand it's limitations. ====ORH====

DMSO is sulfur. Which helps detoxify. I would think that if it can dissolve the zirconia it can also help the body eliminate it. I would not be anxious about it. You might eat garlic to facilitate the detox.

Mercury, too.

DMSO & Mercury??

I had been trying colloidal silver (550ppm, small particle size) with DMSO. For a rear lower molar. No swelling but the pain can get intense overnight. A 3D CT scan didn't show an absolute cause, though it was a cracked tooth which had just been crowned with a zirconia crown a few months ago. The dentist said there did appear to be an amount of an abscess (or at least some kind of pocket of pressure pushing up on that tooth). I did take the round of antibiotics, but it didn't seem to help.

Sometimes it starts feeling well enough at night to where I think it is improving, but then it gets worse again. Have also been taking a mushroom compilation tincture (reishi, maitake, turkey tail, cordyceps, etc) and will drop that by the tooth along with the DMSO and silver too.

But like the last person who asked the question, I was also concerned about the last few mercury fillings in my upper teeth. So I don't swish around but only put drops with a dropper directly next to the tooth, and hold it there as long as I can.

Does anyone know if the DMSO will draw some of the amalgam filling metals into the blood stream as well? I am careful, but I don't think it's possible to completely keep the DMSO from contacting everything else. So might I essentially be creating another potential problem instead of healing the one that's there?

I used Solaray GSE and I never mixed it l applied it on the area that was hurting because it has a lot of glycerin in it unlike other brands that don't and can burn you but if I had to consume Solaray GSE l would mix it.

I had an infection under a tooth, where I already had two times a rootcanal treatment and I refuse to do a third one as more and more I start to think that this is just another business model for dentists. I applied a paste of activated charcoal and water on a cotton ball and left it overnight. The pain subsided. I also continue oil pulling, baking soda rinses and I apply lemongrass oil, but after nearly 12 hours the pain still has gone.

OHIO, ORH here, boy howdy, you right on the money. You teeth control far more than most know. Each goes all over your body. I have told the story of my high dollar dentist in Knoxville and his wife. She was a model and did not want to have the tooth pulled. She died instead of breast cancer. He told her she would. He cries when he tells that story. We don't need doctors, we need Native American Medicine Men, that know what plant will help you get through your problem. EC is the best we have in the here and now.

Infections in bone are hard to heal and can spread to other parts of the body via LPS- Here is an explanation from Google search to clarify term.

Lipopolysaccharides (LPS), also known as endotoxins, are large molecules consisting of a lipid and a polysaccharide composed of O-antigen, outer core and inner core joined by a covalent bond; they are found in the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. It will destroy the bone and your overall health left unattended.

Saw that turpentine can be used on tooth abscess. Ted mentioned 1/2 tsp in mouth for two minutes. How often does one do this and for how many days? Been doing once a day and not sure if this is enough. Would like more details on the treatment protocol using the turpentine. Thank you.

Bill,,,,,,,, your suggestion for me to use turpentine to heal an abscessed tooth is working. You know I's a shotgun guy. I got a problem?....... then I throw the kitchen sink at it. Well, know you can't breath Ozone, but you can breath ozone after it has bubbled through virgin olive oil. I do that all the time. So being SJS, I decided to do this to my infected tooth gum area. So what did I do? I took a gas catheter, cut it off and put this gas to the gum area of my infected tooth. There is an infected area above this tooth and I go there with gas and in-between the tooth. Folks only have an original thought in every 100 light years. This is probably my 5th. That's dang good for an 82 year old. If you think, I's showing out..... then hammer meets nail. That's me. But maybe, folks all over the world now know to use turpentine to cure an abscessed tooth. The Lord said he will provide and he will, if you just listen. Bill, you are a good guy. ====ORH====

I had a front tooth which had a cap put on 15 years ago. An abscess formed under it, which was seen on x rays on a Friday but the place that makes a "flipper", temporary tooth from a mold, wasn't open until Monday. It was already hurting, head headaches, stomach pains from infection but I started on 750 mg. with BCM-95, 3 times a day ( Equals 500 capsules curcumin ) the day before I saw Dentist. Dr. wanted me to take antibiotics over weekend but they kill the flora as long as four years in your stomach and always made me very ill. ( I have a-fib, heart murmur and bacteria would be really bad.) But I passed on antibiotics. Also used colloidal silver directly on area by tooth infected. Tonight I don't have a headache, stomach pains and tooth barely hurts. Working great.

** I will post a summary of my regimen at the bottom**

I had a tooth abscess that seem to be at the root of my gums. I am still not 100% but my pain is greatly reduces and the abscess is now at the top of my gums, there is no more swelling at the root. Today is Wednesday. On Sunday I felt very light tooth pain, it was not severe and I was able to press through the day. By Monday the pain increased so I started using clove oil on the tooth and took Naproxen. By Tuesday the pain was so unbearable that a normal dose of Naproxen no longer worked on the pain. My go to remedy is always golden milk. In the golden milk I am adding coconut oil, and trying to get at least 2 tbs of coconut oil a day. Along with golden milk I am swishing with tea tree oil and Himalayan salt. I also made a poultice of turmeric, ginger, and bentonite clay. I apply it with gauge for as long as I can stand having the gauge in my mouth. This really helps with the pain. As soon as I take it off there is intense throbbing that seems to subside pretty quickly. I believe this is what moved the abscess to the top of my gums. My only dilemma is will the abscess rupture on its on eventually. I will continue this course of treatment for 10 days.

** Regimen - I am following for 10 days **

I am not following any sort of schedule and just taking it as it goes.

Take daily: 2 to 3 cups of golden milk w/ at least 1 tsp coconut oil you should try to work slowly up to 2 or 3 tbs per day or you could experience diarrhea. Poultice packed on the area w/ gauge hold in mouth as long as you can - poultice = pinch of bentonite clay, pinch of turmeric, and pinch of ginger or black pepper mixed with enough coconut oil to make a paste, at least twice per day After every meal and before bed - swish with tea tree oil and Himalayan salt mixed into warm water.

I hope this helps!

DMSO, Hydrogen Peroxide

A few weeks ago I had a molar that was abscessing with the swollen gum becoming painful. I found the garlic remedy too painful and found another remedy somewhere that worked like magic. The remedy is simple: Mix equal amounts of peroxide and DMSO -- about a teaspoon of each. Swish for a few minutes --5 minutes being ideal. Pain gone. If your abscess is advanced, you may have to swish the DMSO/peroxide solution more than once. It worked for me on the first try. but I did catch it early.

Bentonite Clay

For a tooth abscess, you want to use food grade calcium bentonite clay, and hydrate clay to make a kind of thick poltice you can pack around the tooth. You want to pack clay on every part of the infected tooth and also the gum around it. For an added benifit you can also make a clay poltice for the outside of your mouth where the infected tooth is. Keep clay on at least 1 hour or more, CB Clay has amazing drawing properties and will draw the infection out. You might feel a pulsating feeling in your mouth as the clay draws out the infection.

DMSO, Hydrogen Peroxide
Posted by Beverly Sansum (United States) on 10/24/2019

I used a mixture of DMSO and hydrogen peoxide to swish for about 5 minutes. I did this twice. I used about 1/2 teaspoon of each. You may want to add a little distilled water if you find the mixture too strong. Pain gone the first time but repeated it anyway. I'm sure I found this remedy on Earth Clinic and now I can't find it.

Mario, you might like to try oil pulling with an organic oil to which you've added a potent natural antibiotic. Something like oregano oil or clove oil, olive leaf tincture, follow the directions for oil pulling but add a drop of the oil or tincture. Adding a drop each time you pull until you can feel that it's working. Aim to pull, really forcing the liquid between your teeth, for twenty minutes, but your first time could be much less. Best to you.

Turpentine

ORH...Thanks for those kind words, though I'm sure I don't deserve that sort of praise. Meantime, here's some more proper(honest) research on the wondrous beneficial activities of gum turpentine. This research describes the wide anti-pathogenic effect across many different pathogenic species of particularly the pinene chemicals -- monoterpenes -- that are in turpentine in such signifcant amounts. This might interest some people; http://www.extremehealthradio.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Turpentine-PDF.pdf https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6920849/ The drugs companies have known all about the anti-pathogenic capability and safety of alpha- and beta-pinenes and other useful plant terpenes for many decades. Trouble is the drugs companies still can't make a patentable, marketable drug from these pinenes. So that's why they suddenly banned gum turpentine from supplementary use in the Merck Medical Manual in 1999. They knew perfectly well how useful, safe and effective the pinenes in turpentine are when used as an all-round pathogen-killer -- their own drugs and antibiotics could never hope to compete with gum turpentine as the ultimate blood purifier so they rather desperately wanted to scare people away from using the turpentine by simply calling it a poison and banning it as a supplement. No doubt this sort of illicit and baseless ban is perhaps yet another shining example of what the drugs companies would proudly refer to as their "proper scientific method"(sic).

TOOTH ABCESS,,,,,,,,,,

Bill Thompson, never got back to you on your advice to treat my infected tooth with turpentine. It worked, but that's not the end of the story. Our daughter and several friends came down with the same problem. Your advice worked for all of them. Not one failure. Myself, I think you need to either write an e book or ask D to set up a site for your advice. Ted was good, but so are you. Also, I have lots of questions as to how you got your knowledge. If you don't want to go public, I would appreciate your life's profile by e mail. You are a special fellow that I would like to know better. ====ORH====

Lemon Water, Turmeric
Posted by KT (USA) on 09/23/2019

Just having more thought processes…wondered if my “spleen” pain was from using unlimited spice varieties in conjunction with food. Even though that pain was resolved by the use of lemon, my head & neck pain is still there so I started taking acetaminophen and aspirin. Turmeric and cayenne pepper are high in oxalates that can contribute to other problems so I'll try the aspirin and aceta…every four hours since they are supported with studies.

Hi EC,

I started out with an abscess under a tooth that had a crown removed. It was one that had a root canal so it was dead and I felt no pain. I think I didn't use garlic or tea bags enough to completely remove all infection and the inflammation went into my neck and across both shoulders, my right side up the back of my head, the occipital bones and outside my scalp. My Pickle juice eased the right shoulder pain then I guess the inflammation affected my spleen since that organ is supposed to filter bacteria. I've never had pain like that...so bad I couldn't move without loud grunts. I got up at midnight but was afraid to take anything until I looked up on EC. I would have probably thought about the ER if it wasn't for you guys!! I remember reading how lemon can detox the liver but I couldn't find anything for the spleen at that time...I know it was my spleen from what my husband had gone through a year ago in Feb. so I made warm lemon water (a whole small one)...relief was almost immediate. Then I figured I'd take about 1/2 tsp. turmeric in some warm tap water and went back to bed. I woke up about 3 in less pain so I just took more lemon water and went to bed again. Up again at 7...pain almost completely gone. This is just a report of what I did for me...my neck is still pretty stiff but the other pain is gone.

John - Sorry, I'm unclear on the ratios. 7 parts DMSO, 1 part distilled water, 2 parts Nascent iodine. Does "part" mean drops? If so, it seems like 10 drops would be difficult to swish around in the mouth. Am I missing something, or does it mean like tablespoons? Sorry for such a basic question, I just don't get it, but I do have the bone infection and want to try this. If John or anyone knows, please explain. Thank you in advance. Cheers.

EC you are a lifesaver. Had bad abscess but I do not have dental insurance and I'm gearing more toward natural remedies. Colloidal silver 1 tsp 3x a day as well as swishing to the bump, alpha lipoic acid 600 mg 2x, applied mixture of baking soda and pink salt over it, dab apple cider vinegar and cloves essential oil. Take 3g vit C 3x. Applied frankincense essential oil over the swollen jaw, face, and lymph, this helped a lot with pain and allowed me a good night sleep. By morning abscess is flat, very slight pain. Will continue treatment for maybe a week for good measure. Thanks to all who posted comments.
