[YEA] 02/04/2006: Sharon from Sonora, California writes: "I am 65 today but when I was in my mid 40's, I was told by my doctor that I needed a hysterectomy because of excessive bleeding and fibroid tumors. I also had been literally crunching ice cubes from the tray in the ice box for quite sometime. A wonder they didn't break every tooth in my head plus it was driving everybody around me crazy. I had read this literature at some point about black strap molasses being able to get rid of fibroid tumors and I told my doctor I would let him know about having the hysterectomy and immediately started drinking 1 tablespoon black strap in a cup of water in the a.m. and another in the p.m. It wasn't long before I noticed I wasn't craving the ice cubes and the bleeding slowed to normal. When I went back to my doctor 6 months later the fibroid tumors (and there were many) had all but shrunk away. I continued drinking the molasses for a time after that and never had another problem in that area. That is the only thing I did. I was so glad I had found that little book on blackstrap and its cures. Great stuff."

When cutting my nails yesterday, I noticed that the white, half moons at the base of my nails (I've forgotten the name for these) reduced in size by half within one week! I'm completely amazed! I heard these were due to mineral deficiency but I'd been taking supplements and had just given up. Thanks Earth Clinic!"

I would put the ingredients in a plastic jug and hang it in the tree. It worked wonders. Never had any webs kill the branches after that. My problem is that I cannot remember the second ingredient."

12/16/2011: Pragnya from Mumbai, India writes: "Hi. I purchased Plantation organic unsulfured blackstrap molasses from an organ ic store in Mumbai. I paid 1100 (approx $22) for one single bottle. Damn expensive but health is worth more.
But I suspect its fake because the bottle had this sticker taping on the small lid on the bottle as opposed to the regular proper plastic sealing that u have to break open the first time. I had expected the sealing to be the way it is on water bottle, which is turned to break the 2 plastic binds for opening bottle
However this bottle did not have that seal. My question to all my earthclinic mates- IN THE US OR UK , where this brand is sold, is it properly sealed where the seal needs to be turned/rotated slightly to open bottle or does it comes with a sticker on an open lid only?
Pls do reply.awaiting"
Replies12/17/2011: Baldev from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India replies: "Hi Pragnya, every company has its own sealing system of the bottle, for example thebottle which I got from UK, it has a hard plastic band around the lid. 12/18/2011: Dud from From The Woods Of, Wv, Usa replies: "David from Dublin,You're doin good.
Here is another easy protocol to add to your regimen, that may help your skin itches immensely:
Use the borax powder in a hot tub of water to soak in for 30 to 60 minutes. Soak in it every day, or every othe day. Use the time to relax. Most people get the bathtub water comfortably hot. The hot water alone helps the fibromyalgia symptoms [soreness]. The borax in the water will kill the mites externally, and under the skin. It is a fungicide & a bacteria-cide. Some people report seeing black specs, etc. , floating in the bath tub, coming out of their skin. Also add epsom salts [magnesium sulphate] to the soak water, to get it's benefits also. It has a drawing power to it. It is used by sports teams for sore mucles and bruises. Bangkok Ted recommends using the borax externally for mites in this manner. You should feel much better for a couple of hours after soaking in this. You mite kill off the biotics crawling on your skin.
possible amounts: borax: 4 tablesoons epsom salts: 1 quart
cost: about 50 cents U.S. For the borax, about $2 U.S. Dollars for the epsom salts. [in the USA]
Also; You may want to change the way you are using the vinegar internally. Do some Research on earhclinic.com on how to use it. Maybe switch to taking it 1 hour away from meals, instead of with meals. In general; taking it with meals is usually not recommended, because of it interfering with your food digestion. Mix it with about 6 ounces of water, adding 1/4 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate to it, to reduce the acidity of the vinegar, and to improve it's ability to alkalize the blood. Take this mixture about 1 hour away from meals.
However, if taking it with meals seems to help you, then go ahead and continue taking it that way.
Read more about the why & how of it by searching the earhclinic website for older messages. Bangkok Ted has explained this alkalizing method in great detail in past messages.
good luck."

09/25/2011: Jenny from Sydney, Nsw Australia writes: "If you suffer from candida can you still use BSM and honey in your diet for health? BSM sounds good so I would be interested in trying it out. Thanks!"
Replies09/25/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Jenny, I was wondering the same thing. My book on Candida diet says no but Bill from the Philippines included BSM in his Candida diet so a while ago I tried to contact him to clarify this matter as I would like to go on taking BSM to stry to stop my hair from going greyer but I got no answer! I would say that one should probably neither use BSM nor honey as they are both mostly sugar but I was interested in knowing why he advises BSM because he know an awful lot about Candida and cured his own. Let's hope he answers..... The thing is that there are so much contradicting information about what a Candida diet should look like.... It is very hard to know!"
10/04/2011: Jenny from Sydney, Australia replies: "Hi Francisca,
I was just looking at adrenal fatigue and saw that Bill had used BSM when getting rid of candida along with other supplements. I went off BSM for about 5 days but have gone back on to it as I feel it is nourishing. I am only taking one tspn once or twice daily. I have started on a number of things suggested on this website and am noticing a difference in energy but am very cautious and using low doses of everything. So far so good. Thanks for your comment. Having read that Bill used it I feel much more comfortable carrying on with BSM."

[NAY] 05/06/2011: Jason from Uk, London writes: "I tried halve a teaspoon organics blackstrap unsulphured mollasses, mixed with warm water after food and also tried before food and an empty stomach and it caused alot of gas so I stopped it, I am "Not" taking any medication or anything else, just eating normanl healthy food and the gas still happens when taking this mollasses, maybe mollasses is not supposed to be seperated from the fibre of the sugar cane and should be consummed whole, but when I eat natures vally oats and almond crunch bar ( which also has mollases added in it) the gas does not hapen), also I was geting painfull penis errection when taking Mollasses on its own in warm water. I stoped taking mollsases and the gas went away, its not for me or someone been telling lies about cures from mollasses, also how can it be true that mollsasses retores hair color because of tanin?, ther is also tanin in tea and alot of people drink tea in this world ( ans they still have grey hair)"
Replies10/18/2011: Jen from N/a, Tx, Usa replies: "I was wondering if we can get some clarification on your comment regarding the gray hair. I am not sure, but are you mixing melanin with tannin? The melanin in the body seems to benefit as a result from the molasses b/c of the copper; from what I was able to find the tannin does not directly influence this.Regarding your health, I am sorry it did not work out for you as you had hoped. Everyone does seem to react differently to certain foods. Maybe you should not be taking it on an empty stomach - many people on here suggest to eat before taking the molasses instead. As for the erection pain, that would be something to talk to your doctor about in case of another serious problem.
Good luck on your path for good health!"

Replies02/06/2011: Gojan from Phoenix, Az replies: "Black strap molasses by the spoon full is pretty tough to swallow. Here's a recipe that makes it easy to take: 2/3 cup of plain oatmeal; add 3/4 cup of water and microwave on high for two minutes; mix in 2 tablespoons of peanut butter and add a tablespoon or more of blackstrap. I never get tired of eating this during the day."
02/06/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Peanut butter often contains a lot of moulds and the microwave is not really a good idea, if you ask me, a quite dangerous device although most people don't have a clue about how dangerous. And often peanuts contain mould but according to what I have read peanut butter is even worse because they use peanuts they can't otherwise sell!"
02/07/2011: Lita209 from Sanford, Fl, Usa replies: "I thought I was the only one that couldn't deal with the taste of Blackstrap Molasses. After reading all the benefits from a lot of postings I bought a bottle (I don't remember the brand) and took a teaspoon, OMG!!! I could not take the taste out of my mouth with anything. Needless to say I don't dare to try it on anything. I would love to try it for the benefits. Anyone with more ways of making it taste better???"

02/07/2011: Anne from Chicago, Il, Usa replies: "I make a hot drink at work using 1 Tbl blackstrap molasses and hot water... I love it. I wouldn't take it full strength...Anne"
02/09/2011: Gojan from Phoenix, Az replies: "For clarification, you microwave the oatmeal per the instructions on the box. After you remove it from the microwave, you then mix in the peanut butter and blackstrap with no additional microwaving."
02/10/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Sorry Gojan, maybe I didn't explain myself well! One should be careful with peanut butter because of the moulds, and careful with the microwave as well. I never use one and I dread to think that when I eat in a restaurant and other people's houses they do microwave the food. Do some research on the subject. Even standing near a microwave while it is working can be a health hazard, the same for the food cooked or warmed up in one. I live in a rented house which has one but we never, ever use it. People are not suficently aware of the dangers and anyway, why would you think that something sold all over the world in all shops might be dangerous? The problem is exactly that.... This is big business and it won't be stopped any time soon, no matter what the dangers for your health are. But... Do your own research and reach your own conclusions! "
02/10/2011: Freida from Birmingham, Alabama replies: "I mix a tablespoon or 2 in a glass of chocolate milk. I can still taste it but I focus on the chocolate. Pretty good, actually."

01/06/2010: Lockamime from Brooklyn, New York writes: "I've just started using Plantation Balck Strap Molasses. In your list of Brands, I notice only the Crosby Molasses mentions 'copper' as an ingredient.
Does that mean the other brands don't have copper in them? I'm also looking to 'naturally' maintain my natural hair color, black."
RepliesEC: Lockamime is referring to this list: http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/molasses.html#NUTRITIONAL
01/12/2010: Susan from Boston, Ma replies: "My understanding (which I didn't check recently) is that, if a product lists an ingredient as 0%, it means that it has less than 1% of the item, but that it has *some* of that item. So, even if it has .9%, it gets listed as 0%. I found at least one testimonial on another site where someone's grey hair was growing in at her natural color using Plantation molasses which lists copper at 0%."

12/02/2009: Idella from Brooklyn, New York writes: "In Oct. this year, my doc. told me I have very high cholesterol of 258. She said I was heADED FOR HEART ATTACK AND OR STROKE. SCARED STRAIGHT, AND BECAUSE i JUST LOST A DEAR FRIEND ABOUT A MOMTH AGO, FROM HIGH LDL AND High bld pressure, I immediatedly stopped everything I'm eating and went to my health food store and bought everything the computer said to bring my ldl's down. Then my daughter said that she's going to start on Blackstrap Molasses (BSM) and to buy her some. I did. the next morning I read about its power and ability to ward off cancerous tumors. I was so astounded, I started taking hers in chamomile tea every morning first thing. It's different but tolerable. My goal and determination is not to stroke or attack my heart. I plan to see 58, 59, 60 etc. despite our age or gender, we all need to go back to basics, and as they say...let nature take it's course....I feel great now and hope to continue, and the best i give to all others."
Replies11/06/2011: Jan from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England replies: "I find one of the most effective ways to take crude BSM is to dissolve or melt 1 teaspoonful (7 gms) in half a cup of hot water and add enough cold water to make it no hotter than one can bear to put their finger in. If symptoms are severe take this on rising, before each meal and last thing at night. This will enable the body to easily absorb all the minerals available in the molasses and to help overcome many ailments. (You may find that the dilution is similar to the biochem tissue salts, eg. 6x potency. ) Do not add refined white sugar, this is acid forming which is undesirable, and do not put it in tea as the tannin inhibits the absorption of iron. If this strength is not tolerated, eg gas, or a sensitive stomach the dose should be made weaker and taken more frequently through the day.I would suggest taking crude BSM for an absolute minimum of 8 weeks consecutive treatment. I have only been using it for two and feel more energetic. I am treating a problem with my nails and candida and rheumatism plus menopause...etc.etc.etc.
Will keep you posted on improvement. Good luck to all of you who are using crude BSM and don't give up too soon.
WARNING! NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU SUFFER WITH DIABETES!"

02/23/2008: Dawn from Westlland, MI writes: "There seems to be some confusion about blackstrap molasses. It can be sulphured or unsulphured. The blackstrap designation does not have anything to do with whether it is sulphured or not. Blackstrap just means that it is from the third boiling which means it has more iron. They sulphur molasses if it is being made from young green sugar cane (sulphur is used as a preservataive). No sulphuring is needed if they use mature sugar cane, so it is labeled unsulphured. An example of unsulphured blackstrap molasses is Brer Rabbit molasses with the purple label. For complete molasses/suphur explanation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molasses"

GRAY HAIR

01/01/2012: Hubert from Phoenix, Az., United States writes: "I am going to try Black Strap Molasses (BSM) in an effort to eliminate some of my grey hair, but I am a novice as far as BSM is concerned, so would one of the BSM Veterans wade in and respond to my comments and questions.
There were a few people who stated in their post that they were taking BSM in hopes of minimizing/eliminating their grey hair; they went on to explain they had to discontinue their regimen due to the high sugar content of BSM, which had a negative impact on them. I'm wondering if they were taking the unsulphered BSM. Is there is a difference between the unsulphered and plain BSM?
Also I was wondering would it be ok to use BSM in hot green tea with lemon? Normally I use honey as a sweetner, because I believe it is a healthy alternative to sugar. But I would like to start my BSM regimen with green tea and lemon; providing the beneficial effects of the BSM won't be diminished."
Replies01/01/2012: Robert Henry from Ten Mile, Tn Usa replies: "HI U HUBERT, my ole Mississippi Grand Dad used to have a cane syrup mill which a mule was used to turn the cane squeezing system. He then used a wood burning cooker to evaporate off the water. The Black Strap came from the third cooking and had less sugar but more vitamins and a higher content of iorn than the previous two cookings. What you want is Unsulfured Black Strap Molasses.I have tried this before, but the high iron can wreak havoc with you. In my case it caused my glucose to go out the roof for several weeks. As my Nuropath doctor tells me, iron is a two edged sword. Be- careful. =====ROBERT HENRY=========
