FLUORIDE POISONING

3 YEA
1 BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

12/24/2008: Mark from Silver Spring, Maryland writes: "I was pleased to read that there's an inexpensive way to detox from, as well as neutralize, fluoride. Haven't yet found 20 Mule Team Borax in Safeway or Giant. (I live in the Washington, DC area). What about boron supplement? 250 3mg capsules cost $4.00 online from Swanson Vitamins. If it can be substituted, what would be the dosage? Thanks for any information."

12/25/2008: T from Baltimore, MD, USA replies: "Mark, my local Giant sells the 20 Mule Team borax. You should ask the manager of yours about getting some in. I don't see why they shouldn't if others in the chain do carry it. Good luck."

[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS]  11/16/2008: James Wallace from Seattle, Washington / USA writes: "A few years ago I used Borax to reduce fluoride and got a rash on my hands and feet. This is a classical sign of Borax / boron poisoning (I really don't consider it a real poisoning).

Since I really liked what Borax did for me, until I got the rash,I thought if I ever find a way to get ride of the rash I must share it. Mostly because I lost about 15 pounds in 15 weeks while taking Borax (seems that's another side effect of "Borax poisoning").

The thing that worked for me was taking niacin to flush. So you don't want to use flushless niacin. 500 mg to 1000 mg does it for me. I do it as soon as I wake up for the day.

Seems the niacin flush opens the capularies wider and alows larger particles to get out of the hands and feet. The palms of the hands and the soles of the feet are where the Borax rash occurs. It takes awhile to get completely clear of the boran that acumulates there, But releaf from the rash only takes days.

Here's the interesting thing; to make the flushing of boron faster you actually have to quit the niacin until the rash comes back. Then you restart the niacin and it clears up again. In my case this worked asimetricaly. First the sole of my left foot cleared up, then my right palm. After that my right sole and then my left palm.

And now I am clear of Borax / boron poisoning. So now I can take Borax again. It did take a couple of years to get back to normal for me. But if I had figured out how to do the "use niacin for a month and quit until the rash comes backs and start niacin again" I think I could have cleared this up in four to six months.

The possible reason I might have had born acumulation is because I may have smaller capularies than other people.

I don't consider "Borax / boron poisoning" to be a real poisoning because really only the rash and the weightloss are the only side effects.

And the reason I wanted to publish this here is because I don't want any of you to be hesitent to use Borax because of my last post where I said I had gotten the boron rash. And because Borax is safe and effective."

11/17/2008: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "The only rash I have reported from borax came from Morgellon's Disease, Lyme, and Lupus that flushes out the nanoinsects and mycoplasma that lies deep into the system. It seems the use of niacin made the autoimmune disorder worse. So the rash is not a poisoning it's an autoimmunity. I still have a large box of nanoinsects where they come out on the skin, from one of the earthclinic reader, that are in the millions sitting on my desk. It killed off the nanoinsect which surfaces. The niacin is a double edged sword. In one cases the use of morgellons' got worse in another case, the taking of niacin together with borax killed the nanoinsect much faster. Therefore the rash if it is non-Mogellons, turns out to be a mycoplasma that seems to cause the joint pain.

As to the weight loss some, not all, will have that benefit from borax. The issue is if a person has low hormones or low blood boron, the supplementation of boron raises the bodys' hormones (e.g. growth hormone, sex hormone - it works like a viagra) and cause the body's metabolism to burn the fat faster. In fact boron it self is a surfactant that increases the body's hormone's efficiency even if the hormones is still low. In fact fats and oils lowers the body's hormones by blocking them, while surfactants, such as boron and lecithin helps hormones to function normally by removing the fats from blocking as it is soluble to the surfactant.

I don't support or condone the use of boron, but I find it necessary still for removal of fluoride which is a lot more toxic then boron, and still I don't use everyday either, but in conditions of autoimmune disease, Morgellon's, Lupus, these condition are very debilitating to the point that one case the debilitation lasted about two decades before the recovery is possible upon supplementation with baking soda, potassium citrate and borax.

A proper use of borax is to dissolve in one liter of water 1/8 or 1/4 teaspoon. In event of colder climates the solubility of borax maybe reduced.so it may have to be dissolved in two liter of water. What I suspect however is that borax was not dissolved in a liter to two liter of drinking water here.

The other issue if niacin if not properly used can make the condition worse in event of an autoimmunity and is not likely will be posted as a remedy and used only as a last resort , after alkalizing remedy is used, and EDTA is used. Most of the cloggings or rashes after examining if it is not nanoinsects, mycoplasma, Morgellons, and bacteria that is deep inside the body, usually existing in the joints Then hydrogen peroxide drops is used too, If those were eliminated, than what I found is the enormous calcification that occurs whenever fluoride is of high level. It's the calcium that clogs the capillaries. The counter remedy to reduce calcium (fluoride tends to increase blood calcium as is metabolic acidosis). And therefore a more useful remedy is to reduce blood calcium to normal levels using the lemon and baking soda, which is a citrate, or a more stronger disodium EDTA, pH buffered to 7.5 pH. Citrate can also chelate out the excess calcium but alkalization also reduces the leeching effects that occurs with blood acidity.

Therefore to prevent further problems of excessive blood calcium, it is often the alkalization that has to be added. A borax is never taken directly but is always diluted with plenty of water, such as a liter of water. Quite often most of the problems I have encountered with borax used is instructions were not followed, and the dose exceeded the instructions, or not understanding proper alkalization during borax use, which is required if the body already had metabolic acidosis. If blood calcium is high it is also good to use the lemon and baking soda remedy where the resulting reaction is a citrate which reduces the blood calcium too. Weight loss is often from the effects of surfactant properties in removing excessive oils that blocks normal hormone functioning that causes weight gains in some people who already had high blood fats.

Ted"

06/27/2009: Lilly from Margate, Florida replies: "Just wanted to reply to the borax poisoning.. I really don't think his reaction on the hands or any part of the skin is from the Borax..I have been using it for months now from the grocery store, I love it and also use it on my girls 5 & 7. Every now and then my skin would itch for no reason almost like crawling and it would keep me up at night scratching, untill I found your site and tried it. I keep it in a tupaware in the shower, soap up a wash towel then pour the borax in the towel (no measuring) just make a mound and wash my whole body w/it...it feels sooo good and I sleep like a baby, no itching, also do the same w/my girls and my husband, it feels like exfoliating and everyone loves it here, we have had no adverse reactions except soft beautiful skin. Thanks to everyone...I love your site and read for hrs."

[YEA]  12/13/2007: Bev from Elroy, WI writes: "I had been treated with zithromax for pneumonia but what seemed to trigger the severe, sudden onset of reflux was taking 200mg of ibuprofen twice within the week for pain in my neck during that time. The ibuprofen caused a gastric ulcer since I had been on periodic courses of prednisone earlier for acute asthma which resolved after seven weeks of antibiotics. When I got the pneumonia I had no asthma but a high fever, fatigue and pain in the neck. Steroids can cause ulcers but I didn't think the effect would last that long as I was not taking any at the time. I woke up choking at night with reflux and started protonix. Stopped after about one year and since use digestive enzymes, honey, camomile, ACV with baking soda. Caution: Prevacid ia a fluoridated medication. Along with the reflux, I began severe hypothyroid symptoms I believe caused by Diflucan and Advair which are both fluoridated. Have been doing the borax detox twice a week and have reduced thyroid medication from 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 gr Armour."

[YEA]  09/11/2007: Bev from Elroy, Wisconsin writes: "After reading the info on fluoride on Earth Clinic I realised that the onset of my severe hypothyroid symptoms of extreme fatigue, weight gain, hair loss etc. was caused by taking repeated doses of Flucanazole to prevent yeast during repeated antibiotics for acute asthma [healed after 90 days on Zithromax]. My TSH [thyroid stimulating hormone] is less than .01 which shows hyperthyroidism so I have had a hard time finding a doctor willing to treat me. Now I know it is because the fluoride inhibits the pituitary gland from producing TSH. I live in a fluoridated community so my exposure has been long term. For several years I have had reverse osmosis water but it is very disappointing to find there is no acceptable whole house removal system. It was recommended to me to take cool showers as skin absorption is greater than drinking. I am hoping to convince our city council to drop the fluoride. I was happy to hear that borax can be used for detox. Yesterday I mixed 1/8 tsp of borax and sea salt in one L of water. During the night I awoke with a headache. By morning it was so bad that I vomited the aspirin, snack and enzymes I took to combat it. I couldn't keep anything other than sips down without dry heaves until early evening.I am thinking that is a detox reaction. I am going to hold off another day and dilute it further. I currently take Armour Thyroid and about $400 of supplements, mainly enzymes to prevent reflux, keep spinal alignment, joint stiffness, fatigue, sinus infections, constipation, hair loss and all those other nasty hypothyroid effects. I was also taking the apple cider vinegar and baking soda [about 8 days now] at the same time so may be that was too much at once with the borax. I will keep you posted on my progress. Thank you for this wonderful website."

[YEA]  09/08/2007: Pamela from City Withheld, Washington writes: "I have suffered with Fibromyalgia/Rosacea and TMJ for over 10 years... My first symptoms appeared shortly after I began taking Paxil. After about 8 months when I found the Paxil side effects intolerable, my doctor switched me to Prozac. Well...within 2 years, I had gained 75 pound, couldn't get my temperature to a normal 98.6 (it wouldn't budge above 96.6), broke out with a fierce case of Rosacea (skin blistering & pealing in layers off my cheeks), was chronically fatigued and suffered from TMJ symptoms.

After reading the FLUORIDE information on EarthClinc and researching the chemical formulas of the many antidepressants that I had taken over the last 10 years, I had an epiphany...My problem was FLUORIDE!!! Incidentally, the symptoms of FLUORIDE TOXICITY are the same as Fibromyalgia so it wasn't surprising to learn that FLUORIDE is the primary ingredient in MANY widely prescribed antidepressants, including PAXIL and PROZAC!!!

Without delay, I began adding 1/8 tsp of BORAX and 1/8 tsp of NATURAL (UN-bleached) SEA SALT to a liter of
DE-CLORINATED water. This regimine just happens to both neutralize the FLUORIDE and KILL the nasty mites that cause Rosacea.

I began drinking 1 liter per day for 5 days. On the 2 off days, I simply drank purified, bottled spring water.

The results were nothing short of MIRACULOUS, within two weeks my face cleared, the redness faded and best of all, my temperature normalized TO 98.6 and my energy level began to steadily increased. (Do expect the break out to get worse before it gets better as the mites die off.)

In just one month, without dieting or changing my daily routine (other than adding BORAX & SEA SALT to my drinking water), I dropped 4 pounds and I continue to drop weight at about a pound a week. I attribute this to my increased body temperature and elevated metabolism.

ALSO...when I eliminated the FLUORIDE in my toothpaste, my gums stopped swelling and bleeding and all PREVIOUS phantom tooth/jaw pain simply disappeared.

Thank you, EarthClinc and Ted...The information you shared has truely been a blessing in my life...I wholeheartedly encourage anyone that is suffering with FIBROMYALGIA, CHRONIC FATIGUE, TMJ or ROSACEA to try this simple remedy as I have had only POSITIVE results and absolutely NO SIDE EFFECTS!!!

Incidently, this BORAX & SEA SALT water is extremely ALKALINE with a pH between 8 - 9 pH."

EC: EC: We must also express our extreme gratitude to Jason Uttley for the chronic fluoride poisoning link in his article, The Cause of Fibromyalgia.

06/25/2009: Dr. Mike from Livonia, Michigan replies: "I have patients with Fibro and was wondering how long after taking the Borax solution did you experience higher energy levels and if any relief of joint pains. Also what test do you take to determine if you are clear of the Fluoride...?"

[SIDE EFFECTS]  07/15/2008: Janet D. from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma writes: "I tried Borax remedy for my persistent fungus problem in my mouth. I tried Borax internally because Nystation didn't get rid of it ( only partly it did). I used store brand Borax, 1/8 tsp in one liter of distilled water. The first day I experienced a nasty headache all day long and at the second day, my kidney started hurting. So I had to stop taking Borax and I'll never try it again. The pain persisted 5 day after I stopped taking it. It was really scary! I read Ted's comment stating that he uses the store brand Borax when he can't find pure grade Borax. I have read most of user comment and Ted's email before I decided to try Borax remedy. I would like to post my experience about using store brand Borax so that people can least expects what can happen."

11/25/2009: Lilly from Margate, Fl replies: "I just wanted to reply to any post that discredits the use of Borax (store brand), I have no complaints, aches or pains but just wanted to use the borax for my own peace of mind and study if you will, to see what would happen if I injested it and not the proper way either. I was my own guini pig, so I filled a empty vegie cap "00" with borax and took it w/a cup of water. Waited a day or so, nothing happened so I did it again, still felt no change or ill effect, I continued this for a wk and still got no ill effect or change in urine or stool, no headache, no rash, no flushing or anything, I will report back to this site w/my latest findings. I also have been taking epsom salt the same way for months and feel great, my stomach is flat finally and not bloated after any meals."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  05/31/2008: JS from Asheville, NC writes: "I have been trying to get rid of a fungal infection on my feet that I have had for years. Athlete's foot and now, in the past, 2 years, severely cracked heels (a sign of fungus, I have read). The over-the-counter creams that I have used do work, but they don't work permanently: the infection just moves around and later returns.

After reading up on the many of the remedies on Earth Clinic, I decided to make up my own recipe for a foot bath. So for the past 4 days, I have done the following:
3 heaping tablespoons of borax (20 mule team) dissolved in hot water, then added to a large tupperware storage container (cheap and perfect size for 2 feet).
Add 1 cup of apple cider vinegar.
Add enough hot water to cover my the bottoms of my feet and ankles.
I soak my feet for 10-15 minutes every morning.

I can't tell you at this point if it will cure the fungal infection. What I can tell you is that after 9 minutes, I get a very powerful taste in my mouth. It is the same taste I get when I am taking supplements to detox from heavy metals. What's weird is that it happens every day at the 9 minute mark. (Coincidentally, oil pulling causes my sinuses to open at the 9 minute mark too). I think that this foot soak may be a powerful way to detox from heavy metals, particularly fluoride. I hope other people will give it a try and give me their opinions. I will report back with more results in a week or two."

03/11/2010: Arn from Seattle, Wa. writes: "Please don't go overboard in your reactions to using borax.

On one hand, it is not the toxic insecticide some imagine. The mechanism by which it kills bugs is by contact. They get a particle of borax on them, it burns a hole in the wax coating on their shells, they dehydrate. That's not going to happen to humans.

On the other hand, it is a micro nutrient, meaning your body doesn't need and can't use much. Big doses over a long period aren't a good idea. In concentration it kills pretty much every bacteria, virus and fungus which is handy for a lot of uses but not for your body. I wonder what it does to the friendly flora in your gut.

By the way, try putting a teaspoon each of sugar and borax in your Christmas tree water next year. It will stay green into spring."

03/08/2010: Mama from London, Ontario writes: "I have really severe fibromyalgia and will be in a wheel chair in a few years if I don't do something about this, so I'm really glad that I found earth clinic. I am going to try the borax, h2o2, acv, baking soda, magmesiun, vitamin b's and colloidal silver. I am only 35 with four small children and I live in constant pain with chronic fatigue and everything else that goes with it. This ailment has stolen from me the joy of parenthood. These years should be an absolute treasure for me - not misery.

I also have a child with type 1 diabetes that we have been trying to cure for 6 years now. Can I give her (11years) borax and or h2o2? She must be full of flouride if I am. I know everyone says that you can't cure it but our bodies rebuild themselves and correct themselves if we bring them back to balance with what we take out, and what we put in. What do you think?

Thanks for your time,
Mama"

03/08/2010: The_phoenix from Townsville, Australia replies: "Hi Mama,

Just commenting on your 'Fibromyalgia' and your belief that the body can return to health, given the 'right conditions'.

Yes, I agree with your beliefs. I think that it is helpful to distinguish between therapeutic (clinical) remedies and 'right conditions' though.

Disease, evidenced as pain, sets in when the body is out of balance. Clinical remedies are used, mainly in chronic disease, to restore some balance quickly and for the short term. Remedies like ACV, VCO, SodiumBiCarb, herbs, mineral supplementation etc are for therapeutic use, although some may also form part of a long term health regime.

To establish the 'right conditions' to cure Fibromyalgia I believe it is best to consider it as a muscule and joint pain issue and hence you can learn a lot from the testimonials of people who have cured joint and/or muscle pain (refer to the pages on arthritis, fibromyalgia, gout, rheumatoid arthritis and similar at this site, and others). IMO you should immediately look to implement some lifestyle changes (diet etc) as well as trying the therapeutic remedies. In my experience the remedies work in some cases, and in others they don't, so a lot of pain filled time can pass while you wait to see if any single therapy is working.

BTW it is not a good idea to try several remedies all at the same time ... you can't tell what is working and what isn't plus it is possible to get remedy interactions, just like drug interactions.

I also recommend that you find a mentor (even an author of a book can fill this role) so that you have someone to turn to when the going gets tough.

Some approaches to joint/muscle pain I have found useful:

- the dietary approach recommended for RA by Lisa and Windy in todays Earth Clinic posts (Mar 8, 2010)
- the microbial theory of joint and tissue pain (refer to borax and Ted/s remedies on this site and arthritistrust.org for a more complete coverage)
- joint muscle massage using oils (peanut or VCO etc)
- joint muscle massage using magnesium oil
- eliminate all processed foods (anything that might contain an additive)
- some people do have allergies (although they are not as common as we would assume from internet reports) so stripping back to an allergy avoidance diet and then slowly adding back the foods that are known allergens can help to tick that one off the list.
- look into adrenal fatigue syndrome .. the theory behind it will help you. Pharmaceuticals and processed food have only been around since the 1950's (approx) and so we are a generation of guinea pigs for this global health experiment. Pharmas and additives are some of the many aspects of modern life that are placing our bodies under continual subliminal stress which eventually leads to chronic poor health (systemic fatigue).

Note that IMO a lot of people, on the internet, are making the incorrect assumption that they have allergies when what they are experiencing are the symptoms of systemic stress and disease.

Be aware of the fact that in some cases several remedies are working on curing the same root cause issue e.g. joint and tissue destroying microbes can be treated with Borax, Magnesium Oil, VCO, other plant oils, ACV, salt, honey and possibly colloidal silver, just to name a few..... it is better to read a lot and come to some philosophical understanding of the cause of your disease so that you can then understand the reason why certain remedies might work.

As Windy said in her post "change is a mental game", so it takes time to adjust and learn by trial and error. Don't despair if at first you don't succeed.

I understand that a mother can love her kids more than herself but I am sure you have enough love for them and plenty of self-love as well so make sure you look after yourself as well. Perhaps you need some social support (friends or family) to help with the kids because rest is an imperative for good health, especially when we are down a bit. Working mums are facing huge health issues these days (so many are in the position of having to be superwoman) ... if you are working consider trying to negotiate less hours until your kids grow a bit more OR if you are a full time mum try to plan some time out.

In a way I found my own joint pain issues to be a blessing ... I did learn to have more empathy for other sick people and I also learnt how to look after myself better in a world where I am surrounded by a lot of unhealthy ideas and choices.

Good luck,

the_phoenix"

03/10/2010: Mama from London, Ontario replies: "This is to the_phoenix:

Thank you so much for responding to my concerns. It made me cry reading your response (but in a good way). I am going to follow your very sound advice and not try too many things at once. Maybe just one at a time. And I will study up on the things you suggested, because they sound like they might be of help.

My children are growing way too fast and I'm afraid that when I'm finally better and able to get down on the floor and play with them, and run around outside with them; that I'll look to find them all grown up - and I missed it!
I want so bad to have the energy that I need. They drug me out of the house for the first time this winter, and I climbed up the tiny little snow hill that they had made - put myself in the sled and slid down the tiny drop. They wanted me to go down again but with all of us on it; but I had just used up all the energy I had and laid in the snow for 20 minutes trying to get enough energy to go back to the house.

They looked so sad! I let them down again and it hurts a lot to see them disappointed. They know that Mommy doesn't feel well and they know that if I could - I would, but they just deserve more then I can give them.

I sooo wish that once I'm better that I could go back and be the Mother I set out to be, when we decided to have children. I had it all planned out, there was nothing I wanted more - I could see it in my mind... many trips to the beach, to the parks, to the zoos, baking cakes and cookies, playing all day outside in the sun, all that fun stuff; but since my first child was born; it still hasn't happened.

Finding earth clinic has made me feel not so alone in this, and I'm reading about new things I haven't tried. (really I haven't tried much, I've spent the last 10 years trying to cure the rest of my family of their issues). But you are right... It's time I look after me, because they need me to be healthy and I need me to be. I know that I can do this... I just have to.

Thanks again for your input,
Mama"

03/11/2010: The_phoenix from Townsville, Australia replies: "Hi Mama,

If you are not a member of EC could you please join (register) because I will post once or twice more, to help you get started on your walk down the path of healing, however, my comments might not be of general interest and so they won't necessarily be published at the 'latest posts' page. If that is the case you will need to be a member to follow the thread."

03/11/2010: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Hi Mama, I was very touched by what you wrote. I relate to it very much as I have had a rough last 4 years with my physical issues which seemed to hit me overnight. It has been quite a process but I just want to encourage you to not give up! There have been moments when I felt so discouraged but then, something would rise up from inside of me and fight! Then again, I've always been that way. I too have 2 young children and know how you can feel that you are disappointing them. I have 3 much older ones who I had when I was younger and I could ride bikes with them, have races, hike, rollerblade etc. but can't do that with these two who are 13 and my daughter who turned 11 the other day. Still, they are so patient with me and understanding. My son carries my bags for me all the time without prompting so imagine the lessons he is learning for some young woman some day!

Anyway, I have had major breakthroughs since last Oct with juicing and raw foods. All the excruciating pain is gone! I still have hip issues but I feel rejuvenated in my resolve that one day that will be gone too. I have a ballet studio that I teach at everyday but I can no longer demonstrate the steps. My kids are well-trained so they can learn the steps with me talking them through and they take turns showing the steps as I talk them through so it's an opportunity for them to really grow and what a lesson for me to let go!

I don't know if you have read any of my posts and I hesitate to reiterate as I'm sure many readers might think it's quite redundant. Still, I would highly recommend that you listen to Dr. Brian Clement on youtube who is so very inspiring. I have been in contact with two women that I have met from this site that we now correspond and both of them could not believe how his information has impacted them. He has literally helped thousands to overcome debilitating illnesses through changing their eating habits/lifestyles. I no longer NEED naps in the afternoon before I return to the studio, I can walk distances again and I am out of constant pain. I attribute it to the green juices I drink every morning now and eating a lot of raw veggies and adding in lots of sprouts and now sea veggies.

Please take care of yourself. Remember, you are the hub of the wheel. Love yourself enough to do that and remember, the more we love, the more love we have to give. And you are not alone. I'm glad you were encouraged by this site.

BTW, sisters out there, there is a fantastic program going on right now to empower women sexually, spiritually, physically and emotionally. Some of the top people in human potential are speakers in it. It is only running for two weeks and is completely free. It only started yesterday but go immediately and check it out as each speaker is only posted for a number of hours and each speaker speaks for an hour! It is at wishsummit.com for those interested. Enjoy!

To your health!
Peace,
Lisa"

03/12/2010: Mama from London, Ontario replies: "To Lisa from Thousand Oaks: Thankyou so much for all of your encouragement. I will look at those you tube videos that you recommended. I am starting to feel somewhat better already. The peroxide therapy and the Borax are really working. The non processed food diet and allergen avoidance is a real help too. I test everything with Kinisiology first to see if my body likes it. My husband and I have become quite good at it and it never fails to be accurate. My energy has gone up quite a bit.

Thanks again,
Mama :)"

03/12/2010: Mama from London, Ontario replies: "To The_Phoenix: I did register, I'm not sure if it worked or not, I didn't receive any confirmation from EC. I don't really know how to follow threads - I'm very new at this site. I would love to hear of any more help though. And guess what... I decided to do just the Borax and H2O2 and I'm starting to feel better! I have more energy and actually made it upstairs for the first time all winter! I even cleaned the living room. Do you think it would be too much if I start Oil Pulling? I hear so many good reports about it. Or should I just stick with what I'm doing for now? I also forgot to tell you that I am avoiding all processed foods and basically eating just rice, beans, potatoes, raw and cooked fresh veggies, raw juices, molasses and raw honey. I'll add more later but for now, these are the only things that don't make me flare up really bad. Oh, and raw bee pollen. (apparently you can live on that stuff!)

Thanks again for all your help,
Mama :)"

03/12/2010: The_phoenix from Townsville, Australia replies: "Hi Mama,

To give you some perspective about what I am offering...... I am not a clinician and at this stage I don't aspire to be one; primarily I attempt to address psycho-spiritual aspects, if I can (not easy from long distance and only one or two emails) rather than writing prescriptions. However, I do read the testimonials, for the various remedies and complaints, and I do post examples of modalities/remedies that IMO are likely to lead somewhere, if I come across them, but I don't attempt to do that in a comprehensive way. Sometimes I have to dish out the tough love and if that is necessary then so be it.

Addressing your situation.

First of all I like you ... I like your spirit and the way you express yourself ... you write beautifully (is there a childrens story book in there somewhere?)

Some of the posts on EC are inspiring and some are heartbreaking ... your story of your play session in the snow with your children was very poignant .. I was right there with you.

Re your statment:

"They looked so sad! I let them down again and it hurts a lot to see them disappointed. They know that Mommy doesn't feel well and they know that if I could - I would, but they just deserve more then I can give them."

You are underestimating your children, and life. Children are wise beyond belief, especially if you have an 'old soul' amongst the four. Some children are born into a situation where they have to grow up quickly but that seems to help build good character, rather than harm.....perhaps it is the destiny of your eldest to care for you and their brothers or sisters. Also, we have to consider the deep spiritual implications of 'our lives' and 'no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should be' (Desiderata?). So, I am not so sure that they were "disappointed" in you or that "they deserve more than you can give them", in fact I think you are projecting your own fears and uncertainties etc on to them. I believe that children love unconditionally and that they are very playful ... all they require from you is unconditional love in return (really who could do a better job of that than you) and as much play as you can give them. However, you could reconsider the nature of the play that you can enjoy with them and get a bit more creative with that e.g. you could get a motorised buggy and drive to the park with them in the summer months plus get a video camera and make movies of them ... kids love that stuff (just two examples of ways that you can have high quality playtime without a high expenditure of energy). All of the things that you dreamed of doing with your kids were 'expressions of your love' for them ... the specifics aren't important ... simply express that same amount of love, and more, in other ways.

However, the good news is that I do believe that you can affect a cure, or, at the least a good deal of improvement (I have flick read some of the available material and I don't believe a cure for FM is as elusive as some seem to think). To save you some time where is a quick review of the process you need to go through, based on my own experience.

My 'little blessing' is not that serious compared to others and many would gladly swap diseases with me. I was first diagnosed with 'arthritis' around 10-15 years ago. I thought of myself as an intelligent person but looking back at how I managed that situation the evidence is to the contrary. The only thing I did right was to disbelieve my Dr's implied prognosis that 'there is no cure', I should learn to 'put up with it' and eventually that I would progress to pain killers, of increasing strength, followed by joint replacement surgery (his explanation that I had wear and tear of the joints just wasn't logical given that I had pain in the joint of my little fingers). So, while I did make some attempt to find a cure or treatment it was only approx six months ago that I made finding a cure a priority and made a commitment to myself to do everything it takes to achieve it.

Everything else I did was wrong:

- I should have immediately learnt everything about arthritis that orthodox med has to offer
- I should have used that knowledge to question my Dr (I am not a Dr basher and I am in awe of some of the things that med does but the reality is that our health system is mass produced and often driven by self- interest not to mention the fact that incompetence and corruption creeps in to every organisation after a while, especially as they grow)
- my diagnosis was flimsy ... I should have insisted on more testing etc
- I should have got 2nd and 3rd opinions
(some Dr's are better than others and while mine is a nice guy IMO he is just at the limit of his capability and today I probably now a lot more about rheumatology than he does)
- I should have taken notes and kept a diary
- when I turned to natural cures I should have read widely from books (IMO this is the best source of info that is out there ... just go to Amazon and read everything there on Fibromyalgia
- I should have done the research before joining forums etc (forums are not great places to get information ... they are good for support as long as you are mainly talking to fellow sufferers or a clinician who has handled a lot of cases.

In short ... don't procrastinate, read all of the books and then use the forum to get some feedback on well researched questions.

Re possible cures/treatments:

I might post again with some more specific points,

To clarify what I have said already plus add a bit more:

- diagnosis is very difficult (IMO the American College of Rheumatism method isn't convincing)
- a lot of the symptoms can be shared with other similar diseases ... so the detail of the symptoms and the order and timing as to when they occured is crucial
- the fact that, so far, the incidence of the disease is mainly confined to woman is very significant (after a small amount of reading I have a flag up on the pill .... widespread use started in the sixties ... 20 years later an epidemic of FM started to appear in the female pop .... FM is a systemic disease and the pill 'works' on the endocrine system which IMO is a very risky mechanism to use to achieve health outcomes
- the body attempts at all times to maintain homeostasis (sugar in blood, electrolytes, temperature, water levels ... the list goes on and on) ... anything that affects homeostasis is a stressor ... the body is very resilient to stress however the industrial lifestyle that we have been living since the turn of the 20thCentury has accelerated the stressors (we are dieing the death of a thousand cuts)
- the increased stress we are under is a root cause of systemic diseases and the diseases are not confined to one syndrome, one set of symptoms and nor do they all have the same triggers (one person can have CFS and another have FM while in one case Fluoride poisoning may be a significant factor and in another case something else all together
- syndromes are almost certainly doe not have one single cause although from the reports 'mass poisoning' is occurring is some instances.

I pointed towards a couple of places that people could start to look for help but they are by no means the only paths to a cure:

- diet is relevant ... from what I have read hypoglycemia is a co-disease with FM
- a raw food diet (or variations of it) is a therapeutic tool ... fulvic acid/humic acid therapy highlights the value of gut health and the potential for pre and probiotics as healing modalities .... raw food contains a lot of healing substances and we don't know all there is to know about what they are capable of .. IMO juicing is a very safe way to hyper-nutrient and insoluble fibre boosts the fut flora ... together they safely detox heavy metals and toxins.... they also complement any therapy/remedy (almost) and so it is a very easy and sure way to establish the right conditions to give healing a chance

- a protocol that I am using for arthritis, that relies mainly on VCO as an anti-microbial and a good diet also claims that fibromyalgia can be cured by the same method (the reasoning behind the protocol is that joint issues are caused by subliminal bacterial infections). While I don't believe that this might apply to all cases of FM it is a credible and has to be considered along with all other credible theories.

(search amazon books for FM, arthritis and VCO and the book will be in the list)."

03/12/2010: The_phoenix from Townsville, Australia replies: "Hi Mama,

I believe Borax and Peroxide are Ted's prescription to remove fluoride which, from the EC reports, is well implicated in cases involving systemic disease. I am a fan of oil pulling and I don't see any reason why it would conflict with the above therapy. I use VCO and I put it in the sunlight, in a glass jar, for 1 hour (I only do this once per jar because it keeps OK on the shelf thereafter). I also take 4 tablespoons a day, orally, as an anti-microbial (2-3 tablespoons just wasn't working for me). I am used to taking health foods and supplements etc so I didn't have any trouble when I first started on it ... some people get diarrhea but I escalated to 4 tbspns within a week. (I did get the expected healing reaction though). I wouldn't take peroxide/borax and VCO at the same time but I am very conservative, and also very patient, so I tend to test one remedy at a time ... I would tend to rotate the remedies that you are interested in, with a small break in between, and see what the different benefits are.
Some people are asking questions about allergies to VCO but I think that is highly unlikely to occur ..... just do a skin test first and start with a small amount. If you do react after oil pulling, or ingestion, just stop for a while ... the oil will leave your system quite quickly ... after 24 hours any reactionary effect that it is having will disappear.

Your protocol looks quite good ... I am also on an approx 90% therapeutic diet ... in addition to the type of thing that you are doing I have mixed raw nuts (a small palm full) nearly every day (for variety of proteins) and I rotate the nuts/fruit juice/vege juice as often as I can (once again for variety of minerals/vitamins/protein etc). Do, watch your Vit B's since you are vegan at the moment.

Soaked nuts and sprouts are excellent therapeutic foods ..... maybe worth a try.

I am also a bug believer in prebiotics ... later I will put some science and detail to the theory but for now I aim to eat 1-2 cups of insoluble fiber per day (preferably from raw plant sources)... note that is a therapeutic amount but sometimes for social or other reasons I might not do that e.g. my wife isn't with me on this one and so I cook for her quite a bit and eat my way when she is out or not looking

I am doing quite well ... my dream was to run down the beach again, which I did several times and managed to run up to 4klm in the loose sand (thought I had died and gone to heaven) ... I have now put that on hold for a while as I need a bit more time for damaged joints to completely heal. I recommend pushing yourself physically ... you have to have goals and take baby steps. Just don't push to the point where it is starting to do more harm than good. Also don't be dogmatic with protocols ... as you see I can back of for a while or stay at a plateau for a while and then go for another goal at a later date (sometimes we can go backwards as well but that is part of the learning process).

Gee you are a lovely girl ... your kids are so lucky to have a mum like you. Commendations to Mr Right for standing behind you and helping you too!

(once you have your EC code just log in and you can read all of your thread ... if you are not sure email Deirdre and ask for help).

I am reading some stuff on FM so if I am in the forum and you ask a specific question I will try to help (I am an intuitive and so for me the case doesn't close just like that .. the muses tell me when to close, which happens for various reasons).

[SIDE EFFECTS]  02/03/2010: Tessa from Naperville, Il, Usa writes: "I would be so grateful if Ted could address this question. I'm at the end of my second day of taking 1/8 tsp borax in 1 liter of water for treating rosacea and like some others experienced, beginning this morning I could feel slight kidney discomfort. I wouldn't say the kidneys hurt exactly, but they're making their presence known. In all other respects I feel fine. I tend to believe this is a sign my body is detoxing, but I don't want to be too little worried :) Could this be a sign of detox or is it a sign that I should stop immediately?"

[QUESTION]  01/17/2010: Mrs. Willis from Las Vegas, Nv, Usa writes: "Diabetes, Kidneys, and Borax

Hi, I registered on the earthclinic site, haven't figured out how or where post new questions, thus the reason for this email. I have recently read a pdf from the borax company which concerns me - I will keep this short - I have diabetes - So I am worried about using borax. Will borax cause kidney damage in someone who may have diminshed kidney function? - but then I am only going on what I read in the pdf. Also I am morbidly obese [315]

here is the quote from the pdf:

'Note to physicians: Observation only is required for adult ingestion in the range of 4-8 grams of Borax. For ingestion of larger amounts, maintain adequate kidney function and force fluids. Gastric lavage is recommended for symptomatic patients only. Hemodialysis should be reserved for massive acute ingestion or patients with renal failure. Boron analyses of urine or blood are only useful for documenting exposure and should not be used to evaluate severity of poisoning or to guide treatment.'

I really want to beat this thing. I was diagnosed 2 years ago - I gave up sugar, pasta, white bread, msg, junk food etc - Trying to learn to love exercise! I wont use sugar substitutes - I take NO medications whatsoever! I want to be healthy, for years I did not, I just didn't care.

Please advise. Thank you, Lana"

01/16/2010: Deirdre from Atlanta, GA writes: "I am on day 5 of Ted's borax remedy. I am treating what I believe it a fungal condition that I've had for over 10 years now (starting with athlete's foot I picked up at the dojo) and for fluoride removal.

I am taking a little less than 1/8th of a teaspoon in 1 litre of distilled water. I have not experienced any side effects with kidney pain like two people have recently reported on the site. However, when I tried this remedy about 2 years ago I did get kidney pain the second day because I had not read Ted's dosage carefully. The problem was (I think) that I did not dilute the borax in enough water... 2 years ago I think I put 1/8th of a teaspoon in 16 ounces of water, rather than 1 litre of water. 16 US fluid ounces = 0.473176473 litres!! Additionally, I did not use distilled water like I am now, but Brita filtered water (which doesn't remove chlorine). Perhaps using distilled water makes a difference. This time around I am making sure to err on the side of caution since I want to continue this for some time. I plan to take it 5 days on, 2 days off. If I have any side effects, I will stop for a few days and continue with even less borax.

Rob from New York mentioned that he had vivid dreams on the first night of taking borax for vertigo. I did too. In fact I had a strange dream about coughing up some nasty looking phlegm! Hopefully that was a sign that the borax is indeed detoxing my body. Will post more as time goes by..."

01/19/2010: Deirdre from Atlanta, GA replies: "I did an experiment Saturday and added 1/8th teaspoon of borax to 1 liter of tap water filtered with a relatively new Brita filter (instead of steam distilled water, which I have been using since last week). I drank the entire liter during the course of the day and by nightfall, all of my joints ached like crazy and I had some brain fog. Same symptoms as when you are getting the flu. Awful!! Sunday I took the day off from the borax remedy, drank a ton of water, and my aching joints and brain fog gradually went away... I'd say it took about 24 hours for the symptoms to pass. Yesterday and today I have resumed the borax remedy but am using the steam distilled water that I bought at the grocery store. I feel fine, no side effects. So I think the kind of water used does make a difference. I would be curious to hear from other people doing the borax remedy (especially those experiencing side effects) what type of water they are using.

I might also add that on Saturday I tried DMSO for the first time (will submit separate feedback on that), but I don't think it had much to do with the side effects I was experiencing. Thought I'd mention it nonetheless."

01/21/2010: Peter from Chicago, Il replies: "Deirdre, What brand of Borax did you use ? Thanks !"

01/21/2010: Lily from Brisbane, Australia replies: "to Deirdre about the borax and filtered water. I also did the borax 1/8th teaspoon in I litre of (tap) water and the first two days I had brain fog and a strange slight pain in my kidneys. I stopped using it and the next week I tried it again with no side affects and no change of water type. I think it is just the initial few days that give some people grief. I went back to it because of the lovely sleepy feeling it gave me at night and it helped to cure my insomnia."

02/11/2010: Deirdre from Atlanta, Ga replies: "I have only done the borax remedy about 8 times since I wrote my first feedback on the subject. Since I plan on doing this for quite some time, I am not especially in a hurry. I haven't done the remedy in over a week. I follow a fairly intuitive process regarding the remedy each morning... to do or not to do! Nay is the response as of late. I had flu symptoms appear 2 of the 8 times and I think it may have been because I drank a large amount of water (after I got home from training), rather than sipping the liter of water throughout the day which Ted recommends. As I mentioned in post #2, I got severe aching in the joints. Another time I suddenly got an intense pressure on my crown, just above my forehead, which felt rather like the beginnings of a fever. I clobbered the side effects (or an actual flu, I will never know for sure) with the hydrogen peroxide inhalation method and 1 adult dose of aspirin right before bed. When I woke up the next morning, no symptoms.

Two people have emailed me about the kind of borax I am using -- it's 20 Mule Team.

Final note: I have lowered my borax dosage to 1/16 teaspoon to 1 liter of steam distilled water. "

02/12/2010: Rob from Manhattan, New York replies: "In my 1st trial of the Borax remedy, I used 1/4 tsp to a liter of bottled water (reverse osmosis) I only took what would amount to about 4 ounces in the evening. (a few sips) As stated the effect was rather positive.

I had experienced a clarity of sleep & dreaming that I rarely experience. Reminded me of when I was young. However continuing the next day...with only about 6 to 8 ounces more I did not experience the same effect the 2nd night..I had some tenderness in my back but could attribute it to my anxiety over ingesting this from what others have reported. I decided to try the supplement, Boron, instead to see if it had the same effects, which it did not. (dosage on label) I perceived no effect from it. Since then I have tried Borax once more (1/8 tsp to a liter) a few sips before bed. & what I experienced was an elevation of body temperature (slight night sweating) and increased dream recall though not as pronounced as my 1st trial... In summary, I like the effects of this remedy though cannot confirm that it doesn't cause any harm. (I would imagine most Doctors reading this thinking we are crazy for ingesting this stuff) Still, considering that it is no more toxic than table salt, (wiki) I will continue with occasional trials & run it by my Dr. If he gives me a firm no... I will stop."

[QUESTION]  11/03/2009: Phil from Dearing, Ga writes: "Hello Ted. It is great to see you back and posting here on EC!

I didn't know if I should e-mail you directly, since I had read on here that you were recieving alot of spam and was not opening some of your mail. ( So correct me if I am wrong and I will send to you.)

I do alot of reading about natural cures and alternative medicines, on alot of different websites...I did your borax 1/4 teaspoon in liter of water 5 days on 2 days off for six weeks for a terrible rash I had on my arms and it did seem to work very well for a while, but the rash does still occasionally flare up. When I drank the borax I noticed no bad side effects that some people report... The only thing that I noticed was a darker color stools ( Bowel Movement ) and NOT hard, but dryer and very dark. And it starts after the first day of drinking the borax water, a few days off stool goes back to normal medium brown color.

So my first question is why the dark stools?

Also viewing serveral other websites, such as Naturalnews.com,( Who for the the most part agrees and reports almost everthing that you report )

They have a VERY DIFFERENT view on BORAX and SOY. Both of which they say are POISIONS and NOT to put in or on your body... I am not very good with computers and do not know how to post the source here, but if you visit thier website Naturalnews.com and in their search box, type in borax, these articles will come up that really condemn the use of borax, even calling it a poison in the HPV vaccine and soy they say is a poison also.

So my second question why do they disagree with you on these issues, when they agree with you on so many other things???

Also, they promote BORON as being great...So can we use BORON suppliments and get the same results as we do with Borax? ( as in anti fungal and nano- bacteria )

And my last question. I would ask you a million if I could! LOL! But I know you are a very busy man. I find it very fasinating, how much knowledge you have on all subjects and I do know you have a chemistry background...

What would be the best approach for me to become a healer using alternative medicines? Is there certain studies I should take or certain schools you would recommend? I mainly want to heal myself, but I do know, I would probably need a licsense if I where to ever open a practice or store.

I know that there are tons of natural healers out there and alot of them do totally opposites of what others do. Is one method better than the other and if so what is the very best one?

Sincerly I THANK YOU, for all that you do!

Phil"

11/03/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Phil:

Get any multiple vitamin and mineral supplements that have boron. The ingredients will likely be borax, but they will use chemical names, which is still the same thing. Sodium tetraborate, and other synonyms.

I used to moonlight as an industrial chemist and we used borax as the main ingredients for the boron supplements that you take in your mineral and vitamin supplements. A borax is a boron.

As to the schools, I don't subscribe to any schools as my training were a knowledge I gained from observations and studies in anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, chemistry and microbiology. I am what you call as conventional as you can get and it's application directly applies from these hard sciences. These other healing practices, that conflicts with me is most likely didn't know that borax and boron are actually the same thing. It's an essential mineral.

As to your questions of dark stool, the borax flushes out dead blood cells and other toxic substances, such as fluoride. Hence the black dark color is gone the next day. It also gets rid of excessive calcium out of the tissue, giving more muscular mobility, hence the dryness of the stool. Since I prescribe to none of the school the one theory I have is based on basics in biology, which is a concern about the body achieving balance, or homeostasis (in biology), equilibrium (in nature), symbiosis (in life), conservation (in nature), the middle path (in Buddhist philosophy), the balance between Yin and Yang(Chinese philosophy and Tibetan medicine), optimization (in economics and production and operations management) are some of the examples when we used differences in our language schema of things, but the general philosophy is one and the same, to achieve balance.

My approach is basically simple, that you can follow, which is basically common sense, insight, observation and principles that people can go prove to themselves. In healing arts the one thing that can never lie to you is your body. regardless of what every one says. I did conduct seminar years ago as part of college event where we can talk on any topics, which basically discusses my approach toward the healing arts. However, people were more interested in perfumery, stock markets, or subprime mortgage, or laser surgery hence the course was discontinued, from lack of students. I can't blame them, these students are healthy, so the interests in healing arts are not popular here.

As a side note, my formula which uses of 30% salicylic acid in a lotion, with 1% aloe vera oil works many times better than laser surgery on scar tissue. But customers by nature are more interested in technology rather than efficacy. It seems that marketing has overshadow the issue of health.

I hope this answers some of your questions and I am certain I didn't address all of your questions. You just have to understand that websites, doctors, and lawyer have something in common with musical artists. You can have a bad music artist or you have a good music artist. Their abilities from one person to the next are not the same. If they were, Britney Spears or Elvis Presley could never become that popular. LOL."

[QUESTION]  08/10/2009: Gary from New York City, New York writes: "I am VERY confused. Does anyone have a website in the states that I can buy the Borax that I can drink. I keep reading aritcle after article that contradicts the previous one or uses different names for what I think might also be Borax. Anyone that uses Borax should consistently stick with that word so know one becomes as confused as I am. I want to try this so badly but am not sure which to get OR where to buy it. I understand that I use 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of Borax in 1 liter of warm water. I want the water warm so it disolves the Borax so it won't cause pain in the Kidneys. BUT where do I find the type of Boras that can be INGESTED and is it the SAME one that I would shampoo with and use instead of soap. Some one please help by posting AND emailing me this information. Thx"

08/11/2009: Rena from Mineral Bluff, Georgia replies: "Hi Gary from New York City, You are correct, it is the 20 Mule Team you find in the Laundry Isle that is most popular on the Borax thread. I have been using it as a shampoo and body wash, and love it. However, my daughter that has thick straight hair said it dries her hair out. Mine on the other hand is naturally curly and seems to be doing just fine.

I have several times put a few pinches of the borax in my drinking water maybe a couple of times a month (when I have drunken fluoridated water) to flush out the fluoride. If you were ever to see my teeth, you would understand why I am so anti-fluoride. I have been doing this for over a year, and had no negative effects. I still don't even need any deodorant and its hot out side in this Georgia summer. I do perspire a good deal, but there is no odor, and you want to perspire to flush out toxins.

I use a 32 ounce container and put about 1/4 cup borax and fill the rest of the container with hot water and shake. This amount last me at least 2 weeks maybe longer. Peace, Rena."

[SIDE EFFECTS]  04/15/2009: Paula from Coloma, Michigan, USA writes: "Hi, I've been using 1/8th teaspoon of borax with 1/8th teaspoon of sea salt in 1 liter of water and drinking it 5 days a week for the last couple of weeks. I'm now experiencing what I would call a hive like breakout on my face, neck, chest and arms that lasts for about an hour and then fades away. It started randomly about a week after I started taking borax, but now it's almost a daily occurence. I don't know if I should quit taking it all together or if something else could be causing this. I use to have it happen after drinking certain wines years ago, or after a workout...but now it's happening while I'm at my desk at work and it has my co-workers freaked out. I haven't told them what I'm doing because they aren't into alternative medicine as I am and they already make fun of how many supplements I take a day. Please help. Thank you."

04/15/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "The problems I have encountered with facial breakouts, as this came from the fact that one of the person who reported this similar occurrence was taken estogen (Diane) and anti-androgen (androcur). Both the product apparently had a double dose of cyproterone. That caused a shutdown in the adrenals. To make the matter worse, the person also took a lot of whey protein to build muscles, that lead to protein coagulation in the body causing an acne.

In any event, one doesn't take borax without a reason. If a known fluoride poisoning exist, tor that a person has autoimmunity, or a person had rosacea, morgellons, will experience different effect.

If a person happens to have a Morgellon's having demodex mites, the borax DOES cause a breakout as the demodex mites to come out of the skin, killing most of the demdodex mites. Which is the mode of how borax kills the demodex mites. It flushes them out of the body. Same thing with certain types Rosacea, it flushes them out too.

Since I don't know the reason for why borax was taken, the two possibility that I have encountered are the ones I mentioned here. However, people can take it for different reasons and different reactions are encountered.

Ted"

04/16/2009: Paula from Coloma, Michigan, USA replies: "I am on Premarin due to having a complete hysterectomy 8 years ago. I'm only 37 but have lost the majority of my sex drive since the surgery. I was hoping the borax would help with the sex drive and to lose weight. I'm also doing the oil pulling and taking Apple Cider Vinegar supplements. Should I quit taking the borax all together?"

06/30/2009: Harmonious1 from Littleville, Southwest USA replies: "If, as stated, borax will move flouride out, then I suggest people who use it with flouridated water may be setting themselves up for these side effects. Flouride detox can be very painful, as I found out when I started taking iodine. When the flouride was stirred up and recirculated through my body, I had a lot of bad symptoms. And it takes a while for your body to get rid of it then.

I suggest using purified water, not city water, as it may be flouridated."

[QUESTION]  02/17/2009: Keith from Calgary, Alberta, Canada writes: "I have been using Borax (quarter tsp to 1 litre of water) for about 2 weeks now. How soon should I expect some kind of results? Should it make my urine yellow? This is the 20 Mule brand and said that it's 99.5% pure. I hope this is one one everyone else is speaking about."

EC: Keith, what are you taking borax for?

02/18/2009: Keith from Calgary, Alberta replies: "I am really trying to see if it would help my energy level along with my focus as I have difficulties blocking noises out. I read somewhere that a professor did an experiment with his students give them 10mg of boron and had some pretty good results."

[QUESTION]  02/15/2009: Susan from Temecula, Ca, USA writes: "I was reading earlier about Borax, so I went to the market to investigate. The label on the box says something like "Do not Ingest" and "Do not use for medicine" Is this just another ploy from the FDA to scare us into not using it? I read that it would help for asthma in the prevention of pnemonia and I just wanted to make sure I was looking at the right package."

12/02/2008: Jonny from Victoria, BC writes: "Hi, I am considering the use of Borax, internally and topically, in an attempt to alkalize and rid myself of a skin condition that I believe to be rosacea or dermatitis. I am cautious, however, about the safety of this chemical. I am aware that 'natural' products beneficial to human health have and can be co-opted by pharmaceutical companies etc. but would appreciate any additional information or first-hand experience with Borax. Thanks mucho!"

11/14/2008: CJ from San Jose, CA writes: "I've read many things on the internet stating that borax is toxic and should not be taken. How are you sure there are no long term effects that can be caused from taking it internally for a month? I'm not familiar with it at all, but most websites say it's just like bleach, and I would imagine something like bleach could cause stomach cancer or things like that if taken internally, not to mention just mess up your organs. I'm willing to give it a try if its completely safe, but why do so many sites say it's not? Are we thinking of the same "borax" or there is different types?"

11/04/2008: Matt from Millbrook, NY, USA writes: "I was wondering if Boric Acid is safe for internal use. I'm well aware of the mass disinformation when it comes to alternative medicine, but when I see the word "POISON" surrounded by two skulls and crossbones, I get a bit intimidated. I've done enough research to say that it probably IS safe, but I'd just like to ask others for a bit more comfort. I have 20 Mule Team Borax coming in the mail soon, so it doesn't really matter...but is powdered Boric Acid safe to at least bathe with?"

[YEA]  09/17/2008: Willie from Lauderdale Lakes, Fl writes: "20 Mule Team Borax ingredients

Ingredients: 100% Borax, a naturally occurring mineral composed of sodium, boron, oxygen and water. That's it!
What Is Borax? Borax, or sodium borate, is a naturally occurring alkaline mineral first discovered over 4000 years ago. It is found in large quantities in the Western United States as well as in the Tibet area of China.

Note: I googled the above information."

[YEA]  08/29/2009: Stephanie from Rancho Cucamonga, Ca replies: "I used Borax to releive the itching and irritation from a yeast infection. This was the advice of my gynocologist. I have done this several times and had immediate results without having to use messy creams and sepositories. Take one teaspoon of 50 mule borax and combine with about 2 & 1/2 cups of warm water. Mix together until the borax is dissolved and put in a douche bottle or bag. I found that the bag works best because you can do this in the shower without a lot of effort or cleanup. Douche away at the first signs of the yeast infection. I would only have to do this once a day for about 2 or 3 days. It's natural, safe and effective. Borax is also found in lipsticks and lip gloss. I think it's been given a bad rap for years because it's cheap to produce and when used properly, won't cause any other diseases. If no one had any diseases, how would the pharmaceutical companies make their money?"
