[YEA] 02/14/2010: Sathiananthen from Singapore writes: "Hi,
I have been taking ACV for almost some time now.
Reason high cholesterol and so on.
My reading taken on the 23/10/09
Cholesterol 7.73, Trigleycerides 1.33, HDL-C 0.94, LDL-C 6.19 and Chol: HDL Ratio 8.22 all in mmol/L measurment. I went on an offensive method thats ACV 2 cap full, Lemon 2 teaspoon and 1 teaspoon of honey with pipping hot water drinking slowly.
Current result taken on 07/01/2010
Cholesterol 4.63, Trigleycerides 1.55, HDL-C 1.05, LDL-C 2.88 and Chol: HDL Ratio 4.41 all in mmol/L. For me it works well but in term of loosing weight I don't see much. I introduced ACV to my Manager who has the same problem and never once see his result pass from the test. After my advise and taken for 3 or 4 weeks on daily basics last week result out shine my report.
Those with high cholesterol please try but please check with your doctors advise. I tried after reading from the net on the benefits. One important thing I was on medication too for cholesterol (Lovastatin). My managers report was the thing which confirm of ACV coz he never see a better result in all his testing.
Thanks
Sathia"

HOW TO TRAVEL WITH YOUR REMEDIES

[YEA] 01/15/2008: Linda from Ft Lauderdale, FL, USA writes: "Here's a suggestion for all those folks who write, "What if I go out to dinner with friends- How can I have my ACV/ Baking Soda or other concoction close to hand? I guess I'll just have to run home!
You can make up a tiny travel kit or "night out" kit.
If you are male, check with your women friends about what they use for travelling with makeup, etc. Tell them what you need to carry and ask for suggestions how- We ladies are quite resourceful with this kind of thing :).
I have travelled with a 1-ounce bottle of ACV and a baby food jar of Baking Soda. It takes up almost no room, and is right there when you need it. You don't have to lug a quart jar of ACV out to dinner with you.
It may work for you to place your small kit in the glove compartment of your car on your way out the door (Maybe not a good idea to leave it in there 24/7), or in a manpurse if you carry one. Or in the pocket of your parka.
Just put enough pre-measured in the container for one or two applications. That alleviates the need for measuring.
There are small, flat liquid and solid containers in the cosmetic department of Walmart, other department stores or beauty supply stores which you can use for things like this.
You can use empty, cleaned baby food jars from the grocery for powders. That's just an example. Stick one of baking soda in your glovebox so thsat it's there when you need it.
It's quite possible to get creative and come up with a tiny little, one-or-two application kit which will meet your specific needs.
Just sit down and work it out once and the problem is solved.
Hope this helps someone-
Linda"

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 05/26/2010: Lillian from Chicago, Il writes: "Have been having severe IBS-D symptoms for the past week and on and off for months--nothing has helped, except sometimes peppermint. Finally decided to give apple cider vinegar a try, since it's so highly thought of. Stirred a tablespoon into a glass of water with a little cinnamon and ground ginger, plus the tiniest drop of honey. Not only was it delicious, but my stomach feels great for the first time today. I hope the good results stay consistent!"

[YEA] Jessica from San Diego writes: "ACV cured my sinusitis - caused from living in polluted California. Even better, I had adhesions from having a c-section with the birth of my son. The doctors, over and over, had stated it was Irritated Bowel Syndrome and gave me a pill and sent me home. I was constantly constipated and feeling ickie. I NO LONGER HAVE THESE PROBLEMS..
HERE IS WHAT I DID - they (the adhesions) went away after 1 week.
Every morning - prior to eating anything:
5 glasses of good water
(with the last glass)
1/2 shot (use a shot-glass) of ACV & 1/2 water (in shot glass)
DOWN that shot with the last glass of water. You will never be constipated and as far as sinisitis... takes a while to get use to the taste, but now I like it.. PAIN IS GONE! woooo hoooo"

INHALING METHOD
Ratings:
|
[YEA] 11/04/2006: Jackie from Kamiah, ID writes: "If you would like to enjoy the benefits of inhaling ACV while sleeping, you can add a cup or two of ACV to the tank (usually 1 gallon) of a cool-mist vaporizer along with enough water to fill. Then plug it in and set it next to your bed so the vapor flows in your direction. Also, the book Vermont Country Medicine by Dr. D.C. Jarvis offers a wealth of information on benefits of ACV, kelp, etc. It's out of print but you can still find copies. Thank you all for your contributions to this website. It's a treasure."

[YEA] Sherry from Boon, Michigan writes: "I have a bad bladder condition called Interstitial Cystitis and certain foods I eat cause me to have what is called a "Flare" up. When I take ACV, it relieves my symptoms within a half hour. It is definitely a natural wonder! I would recommend Apple Cider vinegar to anyone that can take it. It's so very good for so many conditions.
I take one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and one tablespoon of honey added to a hot cup of water when I have an interstitial cystitis flare up or an upset stomach. This helps me so very much.."

IODINE DEPLETION
Ratings:
|
[YEA] 11/13/2007: Lana from Ormond, USA writes: "Ingesting ACV has long been used for medical treatment and is sometimes very effective.. HOWEVER, one should also take an iodine supplement, such as kelp tablets or kelp extracts while using this therapy. Extended ACV consumption can remove iodine from the body, and can result in thyroid problems. (Salt also causes the same problems which is why commercial salt has added iodine.) I learned all this back in the early 1970's, and have not found this important information on iodine/ACV interaction in any articles or books recently. However I have not covered your entire site. So in case no one has mentioned this yet, it really needs to be addressed."
Replies08/05/2008: Sean from Toronto, Canada replies: "Dear Ted, Firstly, I want to convey my heart felt thanks for the awesome job you have done in posting your tips! God Bless you!!
Could you comment on the ACV's role in affecting Iodine in the body? I started taking ACV + Honey for the last 20 days, and my skin is excessively itchy and resulting in small bumps / rashes on the skin where-ever I scratch. At times, it is so bad I scratch so much that I see blood.
I worry if this is caused by ACV impacting my iodine levels in the body? I am a borderline Hypo thyroid patient and trying the ACV remedy to see if it helps my hair regrow (I have very very thin hair).
Please advise. Thanks!"
08/18/2008: Sean from Toronto, Canada replies: "Just came to know that my itching was due to another problem. An insect bite. Just wanted to post this clarification. I am very happy with ACV and Honey drink and no complaints. Thanks!"

LIQUID VS. PILLS

06/09/2011: Sheila from San Diego, Ca, Usa writes: "I picked up ACV Extract capsules and wondered how effective the ACV is in a capsule versus the bottled liquid. Does anyone know if there is a difference if any, and how can I figure out if the 2-200 mg caps I take a day is equal to 2 tablespoons in water recommended in the ACV dilution recipe? To note, I was told by the vendor that their ACV Extract capsule is more potent than 'regular' ACV in capsule form.
It says on the label that the ACV is "standardized to 35% acetic acid". What does that mean?"

11/22/2010: Kimberly from Naperville, Il writes: "I have been putting a teaspoon of ACV into an empty pill caplet and taking the liquid as a pill. I have a huge bottle of an old b5 supplement that I just open and empty the b5 out (I don't take this anymore), and I use an eyedropper to put the ACV into the caplet and close it. Very easy. You may be able to get empty pill caplets, but I haven't run out yet."

[QUESTION] 06/08/2010: Derbychick77 from Mayfield, Ky, Usa writes: "I have been trying to take the ACV daily but I am still having trouble with the taste. I just about gags me every time I use it. I am wondering about switching to the ACV pills. What dosage should I start with? What brand to use? Any feedbacks, either good or bad, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks."
Replies06/09/2010: Carly from Seattle, Wa Usa replies: "Hi Derbychick77
The way I make the ACV taste good is to put 2 TABLEspoons of it (maybe a bit more some days) in a 16 ounce glass. Then I add 1/2 TEAspoon of baking soda.
When it is done fizzing, (and not before)add water and then just a splash of orange juice. The baking soda cuts the sharp twang of the ACV, and is good for you. (Read teds alkalinizing formula posts).
The oj makes it surprisingly smooth. It actually tastes good!
Pills do not work - in my opinion.
Best,
Carly :)"
06/11/2010: Derbychick77 from Mayfield, Ky, Usa replies: "Thanks Carly for your information. I will try it that way. Maybe it will make it a bit easier to swallow:)"

LOCAL APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

[YEA] 07/13/2007: Maria writes: "apple cider vinegar-formulated to not destroy enamel of teeth. I have seen a product locally in Ohio, and cannot find it elsewhere, it contains organic apple cider vinegar and curcumin. I believe in the form they have made it, I can have my apple cider vinegar fix in a drink without worrying about it eroding my teeth or esophagus. I know you dont like to publish products, but this one is called Haldi. They had a tea drink, but I believe only the fruit drink had ACV. It seemed unique, so I thought I would tell you about it. thanks, Maria"

[YEA] 06/25/2007: Kristy from Lansing, Michigan writes: "I've already written about how vinegar helped my husband and I but I wanted to share this information... Buying organic vinegar at a health food store is REALLY expensive. We found it for half the price at a local apple orchard-open only on Saturday's until the fall season. If you have one nearby, you might check. We paid $16.00 a gallon at a health food store and only $8.00 at the orchard!"

LONG TERM SIDE EFFECTS
Ratings:
|
[QUESTION] 08/06/2009: Mia from Upstate New York, United States writes: "I am just wondering if ACV will deplete anything from your body such as pottasium or anything else that i should watch out for. I take it twice a day(2Tbl spoons with a small cup of Organic apple juice, then i drink a cup of water. In the evening i mix it with a tablespoon of Blackstrap Molasses) and feel great, i am just worried that there could be some long term side effects from taking it everyday. I know that it can effect teeth, so i make sure it does not sit on my teeth. Thanks, and look foward to a response."
Replies01/03/2011: Dan from Myrtle Beach, Sc, Usa replies: "The first person who recommended ACV to me said that YES it does deplete your potassium, and that it could make your legs ache as a result. She said she would eat a banana when that happened and she would be fine. However, I've read in many other places that one of ACV's greatest benefits is that it INCREASES your potassium, which is a main reason why it works so well. I don't know. I like bananas, so I eat them often anyway. My legs never hurt."
