04/26/2011: Beth from London, England writes: "Would someone please explain why apple cider vinegar should be better for the health than apples?"
Replies04/26/2011: Debbie from Melbourne, Australia replies: "Beth, one reason why ACV is good for you (I wouldn't say apples are bad) is that it is a fermented product which means it adds back good bacteria into the intestines. Many people nowdays have bad digestion because of antibiotics killing off the good bacteria in the stomach."

[YEA] 04/24/2011: Ninesuns from Fresno, California, Usa writes: "On our apple ranch, we decided to make apple cider vinegar. A neaerby wine company also made brandy; and they had a warehouse of barrels filled with fermenting wine. I bought an old brandy barrel from them and poured in the apple juice. We were told it would take about a year to ferment, but the mother formed in about two months on the top, about 3 inches thick. The vinegar was ready in about 5 months. This was the best cider vinegar I have ever tasted, almost like a flavored drink with a little bite to it. I think the old brandy barrel flavor made the process faster. No alcohol, just raw apple cider vinegar."

I've been on 2tbsp b4 lunch/dinner. lost 15lbs and cured my chronic rhinitis/sinusitus... I'm now also pulling a 6.0 urine ph... Yippie!
Should I eat something after swigging the acv? or oil pull? any thoughts? also- is this harmful to do daily? should I just scale back my daily dosage perhaps? OBTW- just stumbled upon this site last nite... Im addicted! THNX 2ALL who kindly take the time to post here... It means so much! Especially since we dont want to take meds. Our grandparents NEVER WENT @THE DR.s... They used these remedies. And like MOST of the socialist countries that offer clinics- this USA might just need to come up with alternatives like these- b/c getting sick will make u go broke. Everyone invests in preventative medicine. The heck w/modern medicine. Its truly yesterdays news. ALL MEDS have side effects. PERIOD>thnx in NJ!!"

I tried ACV a few months ago and could not stand the acidity so went onto capsules.
Aftera few weeks of taking these (I know this is not nice! ) my toilet motions were runny. I also noticed that there was a white residue to the above. Could this be body fat or what?"

[SIDE EFFECTS] 02/01/2011: Maple65 from Vancouver, Bc, Canada writes: "I have been reading the posts on apple Cider Vinegar- About 14 years ago , to lose weight I started taking ACV a tablespoon in my food. I had never ever had any problems with my joints or limbs or any other health issues-i must have taken ACV for about a year , not much effect on losing weight but after a year or so I was expereincing pain in my knee joints and it started to get worse over the years- To cut a long story short, I had to get an MRI done and was told , I had to have atropscopy to correct the problem-To go back many years , my mother related what had happened to her school friend many years ago, -She said ths girl was obese and had started taking a wine glass full of malt vinegar to lose weight, maybe she over did it, but she started losing not just body fat but her bones were brittle and she had to be hospitalized and the docs told her mother that she had lost a lot of bone marrow, to say the least, other complication developed and this girl lost her life.
I dont know if the reason was ACV or what? I have just related to what happend to me- I have as yet not recovered from the bad knee and had another surgery this time with atroscopy with micro fracture, this was to start the stem cells to kick in- Well it did not help at all and maybe in a few years will have to go for a knee replacement- The other knee is also painful but has had no surgery
This post is to RELATE my experience, I may be wrong but then I thought of sharing it with all of you-Thanks"
02/01/2011: Carly from Seattle, Wa Usa replies: "Hi Maple. Being overweight or obese will most ALWAYS lead to knee problems. My husband, (who is normal weight) had knee surgery 3 years before he started taking ACV....Age or weight WILL get a person if they are prone to having a bad knee. Not a lot of sense in scaring people away from the ACV, now is there? I have been taking it every day for over 2 years at 1oz a day, and osteoperosis runs in my family....My knees are FINE. One of my best features, actually. Lol"
02/02/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Hi Carly, I think that a lot of people here sometimes see side effects where there are none but I said this a little while ago. One has to be careful signaling side effects. It is not because you have started a new treatment that any little pain is connected to it. As I said before people should stop the treatment, start again and make sure they get the same complaint, if not it is not connected and listen well to their bodies too! The side effects I read about OP, for example, sound rather exagerated to me. That said I have no idea about the side effects or not from ACV but I suppose everybody is different. I tried it for a little while but lost weight while I shouldn't lose any so I won't be trying again any time soon.
As far as your husband's knee goes I don't know his age but age doesn't have to give you a bad knee. I had one while I was still quite young but solved it without an operation (see my postings on that subject). I found a health food shop where the doctor gave me two treatments with electrodes and I have been completely well for 5 1/2 years. Of course your husband can have had a problem different from mine but I was in quite a bit of pain especially when I went down stairs (it was a classical knee problem). The doctors announced that the only solution was medication for a number of years and then a new knee..... Well, maybe one day in the far future, not any time soon anyway! I think that people accept ailments far to easily as being part of old age and all the treatments suggested by the doctors, especially operations, this is the mindset of our society! "

It now has a white waxy-looking bottle-wide disk floating, and another at the bottom. What are these discs? Do they affect the useability oif the ACV? I've never seen them form before, but this is the second bottle of AVC it's happened to."

01/22/2011: Rob from Sundance, Wy, Usa writes: "Great value distilled white vinegar.. Is it the same as ACV? will this work for sinuses?"
Replies01/23/2011: V from Seattle, Wa replies: "Rob from SUndance,It's not the same. I'm not sure what all of the differences are but they are very different. Great Value wite vinegar is great for cleaning/fighting mildew or for laundry. Great Value is a Wal-mart brand, yes? Perhaps in the same isle you can find a glass bottle of ACV for just a few bucks. It'll be higher on the shelf.
Google can tell you more about the differences between apple cider vinegar and white vinegar."

01/20/2011: Anwen from Dublin, Ireland writes: "I have been reading this website with interest. I would like to begin taking apple cider vinegar but would like clarification on the amount of water that you recommend. You recommend 16oz of water per 2 teaspoons ACV on the website. Is this 16ozs or 16 fl ozs (as I have both on my measuring jug)? 16oz relates to about 700 mls of water whereas 16 fl ozs relates to about 500 mls of water. Just want to make sure I am getting the dilution right.
Thank you for all of the wonderful information on the website and thanks for your help."
Replies01/22/2011: Knute from Sacramento, Usa replies: "Not sure how you get the figure of 700 mls. In the US each fluid ounce represents about 29.57 milliliters. 16 fluid ounces is the same as about 473 milliliters or, practically speaking, sligthly less than half a liter."
01/23/2011: Lily from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia replies: "Hi Anwen, you don't need to be so specific about the dilution of acv. You would probably need the fluid ounces since it is liquid. But honestly I put as much or as little water in the apple cider vinegar depending on how I feel at the time. Lily."

A couple of years ago I made the decision to change my diet and for whatever reason Dr. Andrew Weils Optimal health diet found its way into my life and changes have been good but pain was and still is bothering my at times. I stumbled across Apple Cider Vinger while surfing the net and figured I would give it a try. This stuff is helping so much it may be saving my life. My question is this I know you recommend 2 teaspoons in 16oz of water sipped through the day but am really enjoying 2 in 8oz 3 x's a day. Am I doing any harm? I eventually desire to end up at your protocol but need to heal.
Also, In your opinion what is a healthy dosage of Cinnamon and healthy dosage of honey that one can take each day? I am exploring these as well. Thank you so much for your help. Apple cider vinegar so far is making a big difference and is very much appreciated."
