West Texas wind has done more than damage my sinuses. Allergies run rampant year around. I have had polyps for 3 years with no relief till I found this website. Thank you for suggesting the tea tree oil. You have made me very happy again!!!!
Posted by Pnokeo (Bahamas) on 01/03/2015
If you are unable to reach the polyps put two drops of tea tree oil in each nostril and inhale deeply. Do this twice daily. The blocked airways will clear up and the nasal polyps will shrink and eventually fall off.

Can I use this remedy for my child who is 3 years old?
Is it safe though?

I have suffered nasal congestion for 2 yrs now, and the doctor's findings maintained that it is polyps blocking nasal air passages. On October 9, while searching for natural solutions via Google, I discovered the use of TTO and a carrier oil helps. I began to to use TTO and Olive Oil, and hope that it works well...Is this solution working? Secondly, is there any known side effects? Can someone please tell the successes of using the TTO ...Please

i have samters also and haven't been able to smell anything. Let me know if you find a way to smell again. Also why do you think the salicylate free diet didn't work? I thought that was the main cause of the symptoms?

I would try a parasite cleanse as soon as possible! Something like ParaFy Parasite Cleanse and or ivermectin and or fenbendazole.

I bought castor oil usp (stimulant laxative). Is this okay to use for nasal polyps?
Posted by Tecia (Kansas ) on 11/24/2015
Is tea tree oil safe to use on my dog? She is an 80 pound lab with a nose polyp that is blocking her entire right nostril. If so, what ratio should it be diluted? It would be so wonderful if this works for her! Thank you

I was recently advised that tea tree oil in certain quantities and long term is toxic to animals. What that quantity is I don't know. The quality of the oil makes a difference. Did you use it and how did it turn out? Thank you.

Dear Mama To Many
hope all well, its Raj from Dubai.
Its been a great last 2.5 months up untill Sat. The weather change in Dubai got me under the weather on Thu, friday I had a sore throat and from sat on the same symptoms have returned. Blocked sinuses, green phlegm release, ear pressure, nasal mucosal thickening, anosmia :((((
I must admit I was trying to ween off the castor oil plus TTO mix and was fine as well.
But now since last 2 days ive restarted to administer the mix application in both the nostrils. Also doing steam inhalation with eucalyptus oil to loosen the phlegm in the morning and night. My diet has already been altered hugely since May, no wheat or gluten or extra processed sugars. Fruits, salads, etc form a good part of my diet. Went to the ENT on sunday and he did an endoscopy, the two polyps are still there on each side, but somehow I felt them a little reduced in size from before though.
I am really fed up now, please could you assist with some insights? 'Im really facing trouble with this, plzzzz help Mama to Many

Hi Gcook, thats great! A little more info would be really useful please.... How much TT are you using, what type of alchohol is its and I assume you are diluting it in water. I want to try this method. Thanks
Posted by Wpwpoet (Citra, Florida) on 02/26/2013
What great information. I have just now started using the tea tree oil, I mixed it with distilled water about 60% to start and 40% tea tree oil. I put it in a nasal spray bottle, shake real good and spray... What a rush. I will see how it goes but that first spray helped.

@Doeboymcjc might be right. I used to cure myself of Hives + Nasal polyps by eating a lot of Watermelon and Fresh Grapes every day. Both have alot of water content, which are SLOW RELEASE. Having Hives and Nasal polyps now ALTOGETHER again... let me try again, this time round with more salt.
Posted by Annette (New York) on 01/06/2015
Yes Gcook. I too would like to know what the other ingredient you are using was. Was it 3/4 Alcohol and 1/4 Tea Tree? Ouch!!! But, if it works, I'll give it a try. They are just about showing out of my nose now. Awful.

Someone mentioned Tea Tree oil. And "alkolal". What is "alkolal"? Do they mean alcohol?
Posted by Darius (Denver) on 10/20/2015
It's called alkalol. It's like a viscous water or even closer to an oil. Pharmacies carry it.
Posted by Jonna (Pittsburgh Pa ) on 12/10/2015
Hi, how much alkolol and how many tea tree oil drops per how many ounces in your saline rinse bottle? I have polyps in my sinuses so I don't think I can use a q-tip. Thanks!

I just started this about a week ago; nothing is happening. Are you getting results?
Thanks, Denise

Hello, I have had polyps for 5 years, with no smell or taste etc. I had one operation to combat them but no good - they came back after about 2 weeks. I currently use Micromist spray three times daily as this works really well to unblock my nose. I also take an antihistamine daily to try to combat problems with my asthma and nose. I have mild asthma which gets worse with vigorous excercise, dairy products and pollen.
They are ruining my life.
The following things affect me the most: milk, cheese (I am allergic and this blocks me up so much), chocolate, alcohol (another huge blocker), fizzy drinks, ice-cream and chlorine from swimming pools.
I am going to try the Tea Tree Oil method and cut out sugar also just to make sure as I know that the polyps feed off sugar. I will apply tea tree oil straight to the cotton bud (about four drops) into my nostrils three times daily and see what happens.
I will keep you posted with the results. Thanks for reading.
Posted by Doeboymcjc (London, UK) on 08/21/2012
Hi, just a quick update. Day three of the no sugar diet and tea tree oil (tto) mission. No results yet. I can't smell and my nose is still blocked up. The tto makes my nose run like mad and I have to insert tissue to counter this. Have been adding 4 drops to the cotton bud and inserting fully into the nose. I can't see the polyps but my right nostril seems to be much worse than my left.
Eating no sugar is making me tired and craving sweet snacks and drinks. I will persevere. Update coming soon.
I am also still using the nasal spray as I can't work without it. Maybe this will be a mistake but I have to.
Posted by Gsk (London, Uk) on 08/22/2012
Hi Doeboymcjc, I am also in London. Thank you for your updates. I suffered for years from polyps, tea tree worked for me, but my polyps were so severe I had to have surgery about two months ago. If they come back I will be using TT again. Keep up and let us know what happens with you. I started using Xylitol instead of sugar - it is very sweet but actually good for you (look it up on the net).

I had surgery as well, & they came back, going for allergy shots for 4.5 years now, plus nasal meds. I will try to use the TTO & see how it goes. Sick too of all the meds, plus prednisone as well. ugh, is there not a Dr that can help with all this???

Hi, I have a suggestion for you. I have been fighting polyps for years with nasal steriods and occassional predinsone pills. I found a polyp protruding from my nostril and decided I was going to sterilize a needle nose plier and pull it out. I did, no pain, just a "snap" excuse the analogy, but it was kind of like picking a grape off a vine. I have removed about 4 of them with a small amount of blood and no pain.

Thanks to Gary for posting about tree tea oil.. I was skeptical at first but decided to give it a go.... The first couple of days my insides of my nose had a burning sensation that lasted maybe 30 seconds but after 5 days of continual use, I could not believe it. I could breathe through my nose again. It has been almost 3 weeks since. Still breathing through my nose and just using a nasal rinse to keep my nasal pasages moist. Thanks Again
Posted by Gsk (London, Uk) on 05/26/2012
Frank from Toronto: Did you find that on the first day or two the polyps seemed to get worse? I am trying T tree and it seems worse... But I wonder if that is just a process I have to go through. Please any feedback will be very useful. Thank you.
Posted by Frank (Toronto, Ontario) on 06/25/2012
Gsk from London, Uk... The only side effect I felt was the burning sensation. As of this day, I still breathe through my nose and have could not feel better. The only thing I do now is I use a Nasal Rinse just to clean my nasal cavities. Its basically a saline solution.

Ok, I am on day 2 of using Tea Tree Oil for my polyps. I have found that it makes me sneeze a lot when I first use it. Did anyone else find that? Other than that, I have found that I am starting to be able to breathe better. Still can't smell, hopefully that will come after another couple of days.

I have been using tea tree oil for 1 week to polyps directly by qtip 3 times a day. Everyday a white colour layer developing on polyp and going out. My sense of smell not yet return back. Waiting for polyps fall off.

Hey guys thanks a lot for suggesting Tea Tree Oil for Sinus Polyps. I have been using that for 4 days now and my polyps are falling off now. Seriously guys try it. You can buy it on Ebay for like 5 bucks for a 10ml bottle.
I also know of another remedy using manuka honey, distilled water and a "Neilmed Ready Rinse" bottle. You put a teaspoon of the honey and fill the bottle with distilled water and use it to irrigate your nose. Its really good at killing the bacteria in your nose and removing the bad odor. Supposidly its supposed to get rid of the polyps but I wasnt beeing constant with it. Your supposed to try it 2 times a day and then to 3 times a day when you get comfortable with it. Still it does a really good job.

Hi Dawn, Could you please elaborate on how did you use Tea tree oil, how frequently, how long it took to get a cure etc? Did the polyps get removed by applying the oil? You applied it using a cotton bud? Cheers

Thank you all for sharing. hope all of you are doing well and living happily without those nasty buggers. I just found this thread and it sounds very hopeful indeed. Though I was told that when you have visible polyps, you are likely to have developed it over years, rooting from way inside your sinuse(s). Which is true in my case as my CT scan shows serious sinusitis and polyps everywhere. Nonetheless, I'm trying out nasal rinse with a drop or two of 100% tea tree oil in filtered boiled water and it stings like madness. As well as direct Qtip contact, which stings much less but is not reaching very far. Also saw a Chinese doctor who said I should not have to go through surgery with his prescription. So I'm giving it a try. but that should take longer. I also know I don't exercise enough which helps metabolism but, easier said than done.

For Sinus Polyps, Try Tea Tree Oil applied directly via a Qtip. The polyp will fall off in about 3-4 days.

Posted by Gary (Sacramento, Ca) on 08/30/2011
To Ehope and Jeanie,
In Australia they call a Qtip a "cotton bud" - maybe the same in South Africa. Tea tree oil does not burn or have any adverse affects that I have observed - so apply it as frequently as you like. I probably did it 3 times a day.

Hey Gary, Have been applying Tea tree Oil directly (BID) and after 3 days polyps are breaking down? Thanks for the great tip.

BEWARE!!! I have nasal polyps and have gone to the doctor in the past. He gave me nasal steroid spray and it worked. I would prefer a natural solution. I came across this link and tried Tea Tree Oil applied with a Q-tip. It made the polyps worse and I am miserable! Headache and hard to sleep b/c lack of air. The polyps have become larger! Try one nostril first if you decide to try this method!!

How are you supposed to put the oil directly onto the polyp if you can't see it?
Posted by Joe (Indianapolis, In) on 09/25/2015
Do you have to tilt your head back before putting in the drops?
