Several posts insist that the correct dose of MTB is 60mcg three times a day. Surely it MUST be 60 mg because they seems to use Uralene Blue tablets at the beginning of the trial and these are 60mg.

I don't understand the reasoning behind the 60mcg beliefs

Has anyone using Methylene blue (and getting a positive response) been tested for Brucella or Lyme's Disease?

Both diseases are chronic infections that are notably hard to cure, requiring 6 weeks to up to 2 years of strong antibiotics, because these pathogens replicate in cells where the antibiotics can't reach, ensuring fresh crops of pathogens about every two weeks. Also, patients may have initially bad symptoms when first taking the antibiotics because as the pathogen dies, it releases toxins.

When taking MB, or any other medicine, for infection, PLEASE take it long enough and at a high enough dose to completely eradicate the pathogen. Otherwise you may be simply creating another Superbug that neither MB nor antibiotics can cure.

Are there any over the counter supplements or medications one shouldn't take if they are also taking methylene blue? (I would be taking 8 drops twice daily of 0. 1% methylene blue solution in water.)

Supplements I take:

  • Lysine
  • proline
  • bht
  • threonine
  • ascorbic acid powder (18 grams daily)
  • calcium citrate
  • magnesium threonate
  • boron
  • 5mthf
  • b complex
  • b12 (methylcobalamin)
  • hydergine
  • piracetam
  • selenium
  • phosphatidylserine
  • coQ10

Conditions I hope to see improvement with are Alzheimer's, arterial blockage, and severe osteoporosis. I am following Ted's suggested protocol for stopping progression of Alzheimer's. The other supplements are for osteoporosis and arterial blockage. I also follow raw foods diet rich with anti-inflammatory foods. Thanks.

Thanks - I checked out MMS on the web as well as here on earthclinic. Seems great if you've already contracted malaria, but I'm looking for a preventative. I don't fancy being in the middle of nowhere with the terrible cramping and diarrhea MMS seems to bring on, whereas the methylene blue "avatar" side effects seem easier to deal with. Just seeing if someone knows of a dose that will effectively kill the malaria Protozoa should they manage to get in in the first place. I'll be sure to eat pawpaw seeds etc too, plus I'm taking H2O2 & vit c powder with me as well.

If it is 2.3% concentration and you wish to get 0.1%, then divide a glass in 10 pats very clearly by marks. Fill up the half of the first tenth part with the concentration (that is 2.3%) and fill the rest of the glass with distilled water.

Robyn, have you tried the "Chemical Injury Information Network", Member supported group of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity? I have suffered many yrs disability with environmental illness, but I somehow do no suffer the severity of symptoms of this group or fibro, so there is a big curve of individuality.

Have you done parasite cleansing? There are both chemical and natural methods but I can't imagine you haven't addressed this already but I suggest it because these buggers cannot be "detoxified" w/ the list of naturals you provided. You may have very little in the way of elimination. Have you done gallbladder and colon cleanses? Don't rule out some type of viral Hepatitis even though you haven't had that diagnosis (like myself). I have responded favorably to the St John'sWort, Lysine, Colloidal Silver only in combination. BHT seems to be helping remarkably but it's only been about 5 days now so I cannot conclude. Detox Foot Pads are quite effective for all kinds of toxins, have you tried them? You can purchase them at wholesale prices on Ebay. Hot Baths with minerals must bring you some relief. I use Baking Soda, Epsom Salt, and micronised agriculture grade multiminerals ---1/4 cup of each and ALWAYS come out the better. And to treat fungal issues add some Borax or Povidone Iodine.

Please update as you appear to need some help from these debilitating "invisible" disease conditions.

Had to have 14 teeth pulled due to caps and so many fillings. Went back to check book and pain began shortly after having caps put on teeth. I felt better than I had in years even though I had 14 teeth pulled the previous day. No pain since Sept 14, 2008. Hopes this helps you.

Yes, use both taurine and K2 I've read calcium in the tissues causes pain, ca blocking the arteries causes stiffness but maybe thats not the reason for UNBELIEVABLE pain. Reading all the fibro case studies does nothing to ease my mind.

Please if anyone has got better from fibro tell us about it. If anyone has got better from chemical sensitivity tell us about it. I've now got myself too sick to get away from pollution and other chemicals. And very lonely when you can't go near people. EC it would be good if there was a way to contact people who have posted up their case study. I got some more helpers for my liver; NAC, grapefruit seed extract, milk thistle - had a huge reaction, unbelievable pain, couldn't move for a week. Stopped them and the pain is now down to I can't stand it. So if I'm taking taurine and K2 I don't know if I'm making myself worse or not.... overactive immune system?? or a crapped out liver that reacts to what's sposed to help it.

Warning

After reading your website, I was excited to try out the methylene blue for my yeast and "brain fog". I followed instructions, taking it with powder vit c and baking soda. I took it only one time because in researching a bit more, I saw where taking Methylene blue with anti depressants can cause serious problems with the serotonin in the brain.

"Although the exact mechanism of this drug interaction is unknown, methylene blue inhibits the action of monoamine oxidase A—an enzyme responsible for breaking down serotonin in the brain. It is believed that when methylene blue is given to patients taking serotonergic psychiatric medications, high levels of serotonin can build up in the brain, causing toxicity. This is referred to as Serotonin Syndrome. " (food and drug administration webpage)

I have been on effexor for 10 years, and although I plan to go off this slowly in the summer, it looks like I will not be able to use the methylene blue as planned.

Was this on your website and I missed it? If not, you might want to add this information. I'm glad I caught it, but very disappointed I cannot benefit from taking the methylene blue. Any other suggestions?

Thank you, Pat

I also should have added to my post about that I do know that MB can have MAOI properties but I do not know if it has those properties at the suggested drops of. 1% solution of anywhere between 3-8 drops on this site that is suggested. I think it would be wise if anyone could determine how many drops it would take at the. 1% solution to have MAOI effects.

Maybe Ted could weigh in on this. Reason being, if someone were to ridiculously experiment with many more drops and get in the range of it acting as an MAOI, then it is dangerous to do so if in particular that you are taking it along with an SSRI antidepressant.

To be on the safe side might as well include if taken with an NRI as well. Do your own web research to confirm this. I do take MB for added energy but I also take more drops than 8 with no adverse effects. I'm not recommending anyone else take more than 8. Everyone is different... Plus I also am not on any antidepressant. Just a word of caution here if anyone is unaware of the MAOI effects of MB and not to mix with AD's if in fact you are getting in range with the drops to have it act as an MAOI.

I thought I would report back after a couple of months of pretty regular use (at least 4 or 5 doses per week). Unfortunately, the euphoria and enhanced concentration didn't persist past the first few weeks, and my depressive symptoms have returned to their previous level. However, as of this time, the pains in my left side (spleen region) that were my constant companion for a long time have still not returned, so I consider it a success by this measure alone. I also believe that it's having a positive effect on my sinus pain/pressure (a problem which I attribute to systemic candida -- a longstanding problem for me -- and/or a mold infection acquired from an unhealthy living environment).

Regarding using Methyene Blue in a Nebulizer: I briefly had this thought, too, but then I remembered how messy it was, and how much it stained when I just spilled a single drop of the diluted methylene blue (and undiluted it would be even worse). In a nebulizer if some of the vapor got loose it could get all over you and you'd end up looking like the "cookie monster".

I've only been taking methylene blue for about two weeks, so I can't yet speak to long-term benefits or side-effects. But its positive results for me in this little time have been remarkable.

I've been suffering with depression and numerous physical problems for several years, to the point of being nearly bedridden at times, and being unable to function productively more days than not. I've tried dozens and dozens of natural remedies, with only limited effect.

When I began taking the methylene blue, I had a couple of days of discomfort in the area of one kidney. But within a couple of days, this had subsided, and I currently have the strongest physical and mental health I've had in years! My mood is joyful, and I have much improved focus when reading. The pains in my spleen area have virtually disappeared, I can breath comfortably at rest (my breathing was laboured before), and I have gone from needing 9 or 10 hours of sleep a night to needing only 6 or 7 to get by comfortably.

MB isn't a cure-all -- I still have back problems, and skin issues, and some other symptoms from congenital/genetic issues. But, based on my own experience, I recommend trying it if you have had problems with candida or parasites, anything spleen-related, depression without obvious cause, persistent breathing problems, or thyroid/glandular disfunction.

I dilute one drop of the pet-store MB into four litres of water (two full 2-litre pop-bottles), and take between a half-cup and a full cup, with extra water added to further dilute the dose, once or twice daily. Since MB is used to disinfect standing water, it shouldn't need to be refrigerated, either.

1 cubic centimeter = 1 mL

1 mL = 1 g

The above are temperature dependent but work well for normal laboratory or home use. The concentration of your stock solution is 19,430 mg/L. MB solubility is approx. 1 g per 25 mL of water, 65 mL of alcohol.

At maximum solubility the concentration is 40,000 mg/L so your stock solution is a little less than 50% by volume.

Dilutions can be calculated by ratio and proportion using this formula

M1*V1=M2*V2

where M1 is the mass or concentration of stock solution. M2 is the mass or concentration of target solution. V1 is the volume of stock solution required to make target solution.

V2 is the volume you want of the target solution. for example to make 100 mL of a 0. 1% solution

50*V1 = 0.1* 100 so

V1 = 10/50

V1 = 0. 2 mL or 0. 2 grams of the stock solution

I hope this help you understand how dilutions work. I do not know what concentrations you should injest. My example is just to show you how do make the dilutions.

I started taking methylene blue to help get rid of candida & indeed it is good for that. However, I think it should be used with extreme caution, especially if one has any history of heart problems. My own heart has always tested out as fine, however the first day after taking MB I felt this strange, strong blip in my heart. Then about 5 minutes later I felt it again. Now I had been eating the same foods exactly for weeks due to diet and health issues. Only the MB was a new addition. I did still want to take it and dilluted my dose by half. Since then I have had no problems, only benefits. Be so very careful.

Diluting Methylene Blue
Posted by Tom (Regina, Sk) on 11/30/2010

Terri:
I'm assuming you meant to ask "... To end up at 0.1% concentration"?
If so, then this means that you need 22 times as much water volume to dilute as the amount you're wanting to dilute, since. 1% IS 1/23 of 2.3%. The total of 1 part solution and 22 parts water will equal the total watered-down volume 23 parts. To make the math a lot easier, one can just dilute 20:1, ie 20 parts water to 1 part solution and be very close. Measurement quantities:
20 metric drops per ml
5 ml per teaspoon (Tsp)
3 Tsp per tablespoon (Tbsp)
2 tablespoons per ounce
Thus 600 drops, or 30 ml, or 6 teaspoons per ounce. 1 cup= 8 oz= 4800 drops= 240 ml= 48 Tsp= 16 Tbsp

So there it is. Using the 20 ratio for dilution, to get 1 cup watered down solution, just dilute 240/20= 12 ml of 2. 3% (just use a kitchen measuring spoon of 1 Tsp= 5ml) INTO the 1 cup of water.

You could add one drop of 2.3% MB to 18 cups of water (which also equals one gallon and one pint of water) and take one cup of this twice a day. You do not want to take too much MB or it can make your mind too active. Don't forget to take 2,000 milligrams (or 2 grams) of vitamin C (sodium ascorbate) a day too.

Hi Josecito, Ted spoke about how to dilute 1% MB into 0. 1% MB. One part of MB in 9 parts of water will dilute 1% MB and make it 0. 1%. So if you want to make 1L of MB 0. 1%, you have to take 100 ml of MB 1% ( one part ) and pour it into 900 ml ( 9 part) distilled water. Another example, if you want to make 500 ml MB 0, 1%, you take 50ml MB 0. 1% and pour into 450 ml of distilled water. There is a lot of ways how to make the volume you want, you have just to follow the right dilution ( 1:9). I hope that can help you.

I may have contracted the mild form (Plasmodium Malariae) when I visited Thailand a year and a half ago, (lucky you, Ted, for living there) and the symptoms are only recently showing up (3 to 4 months now) as pain in my spleen that is not going away. No classic symptoms of fevers/chills, and also no blood test as yet since it's an expensive test and I have doubts about the tech recognizing it in the states where malaria is virtually unknown. My doctor prescribed an upper abdominal sonagram (sp?) which showed nothing, but he confirmed a swelling in my spleen area during the physical exam. Does anyone know how much MB was given to GI's in Vietnam to cure malaria? A few drops of the very diluted. 1% solution sounds like a very light dose against blood parasites. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Tommy... Using Methylene Blue will certainly help fight your problems. MB has been used against malaria for a century and was used on American troops fighting in Vietnem with malaria. MB should always be used with Ascorbic Acid (Vit C) to avoid the side effects of the whites of the eyes turning blue and also causing blue-green urine. Use of Ascorbic acid with MB prevents these side-effects. Take at least 1000 mgs vit c with the MB.

The protocol I follow is as follows:

Add half a teaspoon of Ascorbic acid powder to the glass, then add water and mix into solution. Then, if you can, add the Baking Soda, or Sodium Bicarbonate (Arm and Hammer is fine) to this solution until the fizzing stops, to make the solution alkaline(in order to preserve the bicarbonates in your own body). Now, just add the drops of 0. 1% Methylene Blue(usually 3 - 8 drops as required). This mixture is taken outside mealtimes. Take this mixture first thing in the morning and again (if required) before 3 pm. If you take the mix after 3 pm, your mind may be too energised by the MB and you wont be able to sleep later in the evening.

Hi Bill, Thank you very much for your posts. I have a question regarding the use of methylene blue against Entamoeba Hartmanni. This protozoa is believed to be non-pathogenic, however, me and my wife are experiencing the same mental and GI problems and some articles talks about virulent strains of this parasite. I feel like a bubble moving in my chest. And sometimes in the back of my neck. I took the Hulda Clark protocol for a week and I felt great but after that I felt that the protozoa has developed a resistance because I continue taking the tincture (Black walnut, Wormwood, cloves) without any improvement and I felt the symptoms coming back. What I want to do next is to use Methylene Blue against this protozoa but I don't know the right protocol. I wonder if you have time to help me with that?

I'm also taking L-Argiline because I read that L-argiline stimulates the productions of Murine macrophage in mice's which make them able to fight the protozoa. God bless you.

Hello again Bill and thank you for your information. I just have one more question. Could you please tell me if you can mix the Methylene Blue with vitamin C powder in the same glass of water?

Using Methylene Blue
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 08/28/2010

Hi Wydo... There are few problems with Methylene Blue(MB) bought from aquatics shops. Fish are very sensitive to chemical toxins, and if the MB purchased at the aquatics shop started killing fish, no one would buy it anymore. Sodium Benzoate, as Ted has mentioned, is a deep acting viral killer and is quite safe to take in small amounts.

I buy Vitamin C as Ascorbic acid powder, which is the purest form. When you buy the Ascorbic Acid tablets, they add adhesive fillers which I don't like, because these fillers inhibit the Ascorbic Acid going into solution thereby inhibiting absorbtion into the body. The ascorbic acid powder is the purest and cheapest form you can buy.

To create Sodium Ascorbate I just add half a teaspoon of Ascorbic Acid to a glass of water and then add Baking Soda(Sodium Bicarbonate) -- Arm & Hammer BS is fine -- to this mix until the fizzing stops. Now you have Sodium Ascorbate in solution -- in its most absorbable form. Then I just add the drops of 0. 1% Methylene Blue(usually 3 to 8 drops depending on your needs) to the Ascorbate or Vit C solution and just drink it down.

Yet in another case just last week in similar circumstances she simply don`t want to live so nothing was done because she refused any treatment even though the natural treatment for cancer was a success and hence nothing was done so she died in few days just last week. It was the patient that really have their say and if not conscious it just depend on the family's decision.

If it was your loved one and he/she was in this shape what would you do with the knowledge you have?

If doing something what exactly would you do?

Thanks for your time and may God bless you,

Kevin

Dear Kevin:

Methylene blue does effect cancer growth by turning the cancer tumors into aerobic, which stops their growth that way as cancer in general are aerobic. Methylene blue is acquired from stores that sell aquarium fishes. They usually have methylene blue 1%, whereby we reduce them by adding 1 parts methylene blue with 9 parts water, should get a relatively safe concentration. Then we can add methylene blue drops such as 8 drops and slowly add more so if there is no side effects. In Vietnam war they actually used far more methylene blue to treat malaria, such as methylene powder in milligram to gram doses. The methylene blue is synergistic with large dose vitamin C. What I do know for stage IV cancer, which is cachexia cancer, is B50 vitamin B complex, or B6 200 mg for example can reduce some of this cancer cachexia. The other is the use of Hydrochloric acid concentrated, at 8 drops per 250 cc of water and to that I will add between 4 to 8 drops of methylene blue and take this for an entire day until the cancer cachexia goes away. Another observation to restore the appetite and stopped cancer cachexia that I have found is B5 panthenol, or a possible replacement, pantothenic acid to be helpful. What I do not like about pantothenic acid is the calcium form since the get cancer worse. If it was possible for the methylene blue 0.1% is injected a 1 cc, into the tumor cells that could have done it's job also in staving off tumor, but that's just a theory, by interfering with cancer fermentation. In any case, there are other ways to resolving cancer cachexia such as megestrol which is progesterone hormone, if taken at fairly large dose such as 250 mg for example, or applied to the skin as safer means might actually stop the cachexia by neutralizing what they call TNF, which is a cachectin hormone that causes your inability to eat. The liver's inability to function from lactic acid is another problem that can lead to the condition also. A methylene blue is obtainable from a local chemist, a chemical company , a local aquarium shop, or a scientific supply store, or perhaps a school supply store where they do the slides to stain the samples using a 1% methylene blue solution.

I just happened to see this article under: "High Blood Pressure Remedies", in the "Apple Cider Vinegar Cures"

Remedies that Directly Attack the Candida

*Methylene Blue(MB). You can buy this at any aquatics or fish supply store. Used to get rid of fungal and bacterial infections on fish. Also used throughout the last century as a successful anti-malarial. Taking MB on its own will turn your urine green and the whites of your eyes blue, but if you take at least 1000 mgs Vitamin C with the MB, these side-effects will not occur. Dosage: Two drops of a 0.1% solution of MB in a full glass of water once or twice a day. Do not take MB after 3 or 4 o'clock in the afternoon - it gives you alot of energy so you will not be able to sleep!! (I learned this the hard way... LOL) MB is a deep acting anti-fungal that is able to penetrate the blood/brain and blood/bone barriers of the body. MB is also a marvellous mitochondrial super anti-oxidant for your brain -- gives you lots of energy. Read about MB here.

One of the better sites for cancer is: 'cancer tutor'. Your main concern is time & I appreciate your dilemma as I have a young nephew who waited too long to seek alternative treatments & had his 5 month to death pronouncement from the medical authorities after they laid seige to his already debilitated body. So called alternative docs are persecuted by the AMA/FDA for not following 'standard' protocols of drugs/surgery. The industry is hamstrung by the insurance companies who will only insure what is taught in med school. So I will include your father in my prayers & your family as this is a stressful time for all of you. May you be held tightly in Creator's loving healing hands.
