Bladder Infection

I was in acute pain, unable to urinate. I drank some Apple Cider Vinegar and water, but needed to relieve the immediate issue. So I soaked a toilet tissue with what Ì was drinking and held it directly against that area. Literally the pain was gone within seconds and I was able urinate. Which I did with great gusto.... its 11 hours later, still no pain!

ACV is the most popular remedy on this website. Yet, there are two condition when you shouldn't take it.
1. Stomach ulcer, 2. Low Potassium level.
ACV will additionally lower your potassium level.

I read that ACV should be boiled and then allowed to cool to make it more potent. Has anyone any thoughts on this please?

I have been using 2 tablespoons of organic ACV in water every morning for the past 2 years. It has been life changing and people very often asked me what I'm doing. I am 43 years old and I feel like this health tonic is as good for your insides as it is your outsides.
It has helped me with all of my minor health ailments.
I have suffered with bleeding ulcers as a result of a hiated hernia. It has cured my acid reflux. It has also lowered my blood pressure. It has helped with my anxiety. It has kept my weight the same. (I'm a healthy weight for me, 130pounds). It helps keep my skin youthful and I haven't gotten sick. No colds, no flu.
Acv is the fountain of youth. And a very potent health tonic. I highly recommend it.

Dear John,
My husband takes 2 Apple cider vinegar tablets a day. They seem to be helping him, though he is taking other supplements and I don't quite know which is helping him most.
Personally, I prefer not to use the pills bit I think they are better than nothing if you need them. I have been using raw ACV for years and the dentist does not see it harming my enamel. But I do dilute in a lot of water when I take it.
So just try what you are comfortable with. Everyone's needs are different, so you would need to experiment around with your dosage. Start small and increase if needed.
Let us know how it goes.

Could you please tell me how much water do you mix with your Apple Cider Vinegar and the number of times you drink the mixture each day ?
God bless you! John

Dear John,
I usually just have a 12 ounce glass or a 16 ounce mason jar that I drink from. The amount I add has varied. When I was dealing with reflux in pregnancy, I added a Tablespoon to my water glass several times a day for that.
If I am taking it as a general health tonic I might add just 1/2 teaspoon or a teaspoon per glass of water. (And I might drink this 4 times a day.)
You may have to try different amounts and see how you feel. Everyone's needs are different.
I hope you find it as helpful as I do!
God bless you!

Hi Mama to Many,
Thank you for the information you gave me .
You and I have similar habits using Apple Cider Vinegar. I started using Apple Cider Vinegar a month ago today . Sometimes I need some sort of confirmation to know I'm doing the right thing and that's what you gave me. Thank you!
I heard you're having a colder than normal day in Tennessee . Stay warm and remember, Spring isn't far away.
God bless you, John

Bad Breath

Hi all thank you for your brillant information about ACV. I have BB for the past few years now although some people can tolerate my BB but when I see some people frowning , or move backward, I feel saddened inside.
I just stumbble on the write up about ACV for bad breath and I have been using it for the last 3weeks now, I have noticed some improvement with my breath as many people do not behave very badly when I speak. I can only think that it working, I will continue using it. Thank you all.
Baking soda and Hydrogen peroxide do not agree with me, my breath smell very bad when I used those two but ACV agrees with me.

Thanks so much for your post! It's inspiring--so I am going to try this!
Also wanted to say that what has helped me regarding sleep is to take plenty of magnesium [I believe one is supposed to take 5x body weight, also make sure you take the right form, magnesium glycinate, and NOT magnesium OXIDE]. Also, I use that same herbal remedy -- Deep Sleep -- I take in a liquid tincture and it really works!
ACV and Pregnancy
Posted by Lisa (Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa) on 11/05/2012
Hi Henny, Yes, it is safe to take apple cider vinegar during pregnancy. It can help gently detox and it will keep you alkalized which is a healthy thing for you and the baby. Another problem that can arise during pregnancy is constipation so it can help keep you regular and promote digestion. Another issue during pregnancy is heartburn as the pregnancy proceeds and you get bigger. ACV can help with that as well. You mention your allergies but nothing about actually being pregnant. ACV would be a healthier, safer and natural alternative over medications, that's for sure! Of course, whoever attends to your pregnancy, you can run this by them. Hope this info helps, Lisa

Hi all! I started taking ACV with the mother about a week ago. 2 tablespoons mixed with water once a day.. I noticed low grade earache, sniffles, & sneeze here and there etc... Then after about 5 days I doubled my dosage to 2 tablespoons TWICE a day in water... And BAM! I had major allergies pop up. I'm wondering if my body is going through a detox affect? or what? Isn't it supposed to HELP allergies? I absolutely LOVE the energy it gives me within 10 minutes of taking it, but what is going on with these allergies? I havent changed my diet or exposed myself to anything new that I know of.. Except for ALOT of white lines in the sky the past few days. Any ideas are greatly appreciated :) Thank GOD and all of you for Earth Clinic!

I'll join in on this one. Severe fibro pain if you want to call it that. Severe allergies, impossible to live on this planet. ACV may have helped my asthma but 3 yrs on & the pain and allergies are no less. I do just about everything else on here to the point of almost being sick of it. These things generally dont taste nice.

I love this site sooo much! I found it accidentally or by way of heaven, I have had A C V in my cabinet for months without using it. However I want to live a healthier life. All the comments/testimonies have made me a believer. with all the medical lawsuits surrounding pharmaceutical recalls along with my last trip to the dr, I will not be using conventional meds.
How to Take
Posted by Laura (Jefferson, Wisconsin United States) on 01/22/2012
Delicious with tea. Works well with some teas, better with others. I have tried many.
MY FAVORITES: White tea with a little pomegranate juice; or raspberry tea. To either, add a teaspoon or two of apple cider vinegar. The vinegar actually ENHANCES the flavor of these two teas. Thats right, it makes them taste better. :-)
I have found it does not always taste well with green tea, however certain flavored green teas pair well. Such as the one I am drinking right now. It is called antioxidant max dragonfruit green tea. Made by Celestial Seasonings, the same brand that makes Sleepytime tea. It isn't organic and it does contain 'flavor' but it tastes great with the apple cider vinegar and contains more antioxidants than other green teas, so I will overlook that. As you get used to the flavor of ACV you can increase the amount in the tea without compromising your enjoyment.

For all you people that are trying to get cures from ACV remember, it has to be organic. There is really only one brand that I even know about, unfortunatly we're not allowed to post the name. If you go to your health food store and ask for it they will be glad to steer you in the right direction.. Don't use store bought Apple Cider Vinegar it will not work- yes it is cheaper but it has been processed with heat and has no healing properties in it. There is a book on the organic apple cider vinegar you would be amazed at all it cures its worth getting...

Sorry I beg to differ while store bought ACV might not be AS effective as organic ACV with mother ive been using it for about two months now and my joint pain has lifted and my IBS has virtually disappeared plus my libido has returned after a bit of an absence. by all means use organic ACV but sore bought while it may not be the best is better than nothing.

I've been taking apple cider vinegar (ACV) for the last two years and it's amazing how wonderful I feel... My headaches/regular migraine attacks/nearly disappeared... I am hardly sick with flu and my sinuses are absolutely clear... Now I rinse my hair with diluted ACV and it's so shiny and fresh.... Heartily recommend for anything...vinegar/Honey and ACV/ in winter to boost your immune system.

Today, I decided to start taking acv, to help lower my blood sugar level, so I drank about 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar by itself on a large serving spoon, then at that instant it took my breath away, it made me gasp for oxygen, so I grabbed the closest glass and poured water in it and tried to drink it, while still gasping for my breath, finally the water did help, although now the back of my throat has a burning sensation, so I ate some tomato soup and now, the burning has stopped.

PLEASE EVERYONE start your experiments with VERY SMALL dosages!!! 1/4 CUP of vinegar is a BOMB!!! You should start with more like 1/4 TEASPOON!!!! And build up slowwwwwly!!
And this goes for MOST new things one may want to try, unless you are given a very specific dosage for YOUR ailment and condition!!!!

1/4 cup is waaaay too much!!! You only need about 1-2 tablespoons in a cup of water. Some people only take 1 teaspoon in water.

Deborah, ACV should be taken in water, not straight or it will burn your throat. It can also cause damage to the enamel on your teeth. Take 2 teaspoons in 8 to 12 ounces of water twice a day and don't brush your teeth for about 1 hour. Many on this site also recommend using a straw to drink it down.

I'm a 45 year old female, and have been taking two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar after breakfast and dinner for over a week now, and it seems to be helping with fluid retention ( keeping the fluids, not getting rid of them ) which seems to be helping the sinus pain from inflammation, which NOTHING was helping. And it's DEFINITELY helping with the heart burn-like stomach pains that kept me from sleeping. I pour it in a small measuring cup and nock it back like a shot of tequila. Not my favorite flavor, and it burns a slight bit going down, but after that, I'm a happy, painless camper! I haven't noticed any other benefits yet, but I haven't been looking out for any. For my two main concerns, I'm a convert and true believer!

My cousin is a big apple cider vinegar and water drinker, we did a 26.2 mile walk to raise money for cancer, and she was sipping on the concoction all day. When I asked her about it she explained to me that ACV helps with water absoprtion. In doing some further investigations I found that a popular hangover cure in several Northern European countries is to drink pickle brine, the primary cause of hangover pains being dehydration (and vitamin depletion). I drink it after the gym now, it has the added benefit of helping my acid reflux as well! I can eat tomato sauce again! Luckily I like the taste of vinegar, so no suggestions on how to mask the flavor.

Does it have to be organic ACV? I have a 2 quart bottle of White House ACV. The bottle says it's all natural from fresh apples. I'm trying to use it for very oily skin and low libido. lease let me know how to use this product.
