It appears that magnesium oil may be helpful for people living with Fibromyalgia, according to the following abstract of a human study.

Effects of transdermal magnesium chloride on quality of life for patients with fibromyalgia: a feasibility study.

Fibromyalgia is a syndrome characterized by chronic pain, fatigue, depression, and sleep disturbances. Its primary cause is unclear. Several studies have reported decreased intracellular magnesium levels in patients with fibromyalgia and have found negative correlation between magnesium levels and fibromyalgia symptoms.
To gather preliminary data on whether transdermal magnesium can improve quality of life for women who have fibromyalgia.
DESIGN, SETTING, PARTICIPANTS AND INTERVENTIONS:
This is a patient questionnaires and survey in a fibromyalgia clinic at a tertiary medical center. Forty female patients with the diagnosis of fibromyalgia were enrolled. Each participant was provided a spray bottle containing a transdermal magnesium chloride solution and asked to apply 4 sprays per limb twice daily for 4 weeks. Participants were asked to complete the Revised Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire, SF-36v2 Health Survey, and a quality-of-life analog scale at baseline, week 2, and week 4.
MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE:
Questionnaire and survey scores, evaluated through intent-to-treat and per-protocol analyses.
Twenty-four patients completed the study (mean [SD] age, 57.2 [7.6] years; white, 95%; mean body mass index, 31.3 kg/m2). With intention-to-treat analysis,
Revised Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire subscale and total scores were significantly improved at week 2 and week 4 (total score, P=0.001). Per-protocol analysis results were similar: all subscales of the Revised Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire were significantly improved at week 2 and week 4 (total score, P=0.001).
This pilot study suggests that transdermal magnesium chloride applied on upper and lower limbs may be beneficial to patients with fibromyalgia.
My brother has fibromyalgia so I am making him a mix similar to what I made my friend from high school days for her post-stroke nerve pain. I will post any worthwhile results here after my brother has tried it for awhile. I'm making his mix with vodka, magnesium flakes and msm with sweet orange essential oil.
Colloidal Silver Wow, I tried putting the colloidal silver in a nazal spary bottle and felt almost immediate relief of my headache. I would like to comment on the web site. WOW! Lots of information here. Will visit very often.
For those of you suffering from spasms and muscle aches I found that Magnesium 400 mg and Malic Acid 600 mg 3x per day last dose before bed is most beneficial.
I am in the belief that my FMS symptoms and the chronic fatigue were a combination brought on by a severe systemic candidiasis condition. Suppliments along with the diet really made a difference for me.
I am going to take the suggestion to return back to meat and vegetable diet again. There was so much information that I couldn't quite absorb all at once. What a wonderful website!+
My daughter was in severe pain with fibro for months until she found a mangosteen juice mix that has completely taken away the pain. It is the rind, juice and other purees (a premium brand). She drinks 4 bottles a month, has gone without it and the pain returns. It is expensive but worth it. If she doesn't drink it, the pain returns so she knows it isn't something else she is doing.
I would like to talk about one of my favorite supplements, again. You guessed it, it's melatonin, of course!
Yes, melatonin has shown in multiple studies that it can be quite useful in some people who have the chronic and painful disease, Fibromyalgia!
I was noticing that in the EC section listing remedies for Fibromyalgia that melatonin is not listed, but it should be because studies show that melatonin can ameliorate depression, anxiety and pain while lowering inflammatory and oxidative stress levels in people with Fibromyalgia! It also improved quality of life test scoring as well as mood.
According to these studies, melatonin is shown to do this at a relatively low dose of just 3 to 15 milligrams per evening, but it leaves one wondering if higher dosing might do even more?Melatonin has a fairly good safety profile and considering the limited benefit and considerable potential for side effects with standard Fibromyalgia drugs like steroids and antidepressants which come with the potential for a grocery list of potential for side effects, melatonin seems worth discussing with your doctor to find out if it is safe for you in your particular circumstances and if it will be compatible with all meds that you are currently taking.
In this first study, they used melatonin at 3,6,9,12 and 15 mg per evening and best benefit was seen at 9,12 and 15 mg in terms of a significant reduction in pain, anxiety and morning cortisol levels. Here is a link to the abstract, but the full study is a pay per view and I had to look at the study to see some of the particulars that were not reported in the abstract:
This next abstract is more of a meta analysis that confers benefit from melatonin supplementation for Fibromyalgia patients:
This last study shows melatonin to be more effective at pain relief than Amitriptyline.
My mom has suffered from fibromyaliga for about 20 years. Mostly in the form of pain in her back and shoulders, with bouts of chronic fatigue. Took Hydrocodone for all that time and just suffered through it, continuing to work because she loves her job as manager of a health food store. Has tried every herbal remedy out there (she's very knowledgeable and best friend is an ND), and some other alternative therapies such as acupuncture and detoxing through the feet. Some things gave temporary relief but that was all.
I've believed for many years that the root cause for all her problems were emotions she had not dealt with. My mom is a pacifist (sometimes passive aggressive but hates confrontation), and has a background of abuse and feeling unloved and unsupported, with the exception of us kids. Her symptoms all began after we all moved "out of the nest". In the following years I noticed that symptoms worsened during stressful and emotional times. In my heart and gut I KNEW her emotions were making her manifest pain physically. I didn't know how that was possible, but I just knew.
Seven years ago I got into a happy marriage and had a child, our closeness and daily communication took a hit, resulting in a sort of separation between us, and that - I believe - was the last straw for her. She went rapidly downhill from there. It culminated in a nervous breakdown this past summer which brought on new symptoms: brain fog that very much resembled dementia in its severity, SEVERE fatigue, hearing and seeing things, and more pain than ever. My father was scared to death and broke down with me on the phone one day crying. I resolved in that moment to find a way to help her and thus began my journey that I'm sharing here.
After praying for guidance, and weeks of frantic research on this site and others, I stumbled upon Mickel Therapy and also a book by Dr. John Sarno about Mindbody medicine. It changed the way I looked and pain and other symptoms and in my heart I KNEW this was the solution. In essence, when there are emotions that that aren't processed or dealt with properly, a physical manifestation in the form of various symptoms begins to happen. Sarno's book says that our mind distracts us from having to deal with painful emotions by creating symptoms in our bodies. Mickel therapy is a bit different, saying that unprocessed emotions affects the hypothalmus gland which then goes into overdrive and creates unwanted symptoms. Bottom line is that it all goes back to emotions wreaking havoc. Sounds awfully simplistic, doesn't it? But I knew it was worth pursuing because everything else had been tried, and because I'd known all along that her problems were tied to her emotions, and now I knew exactly how.
So I shared all that information with my parents and began a sort of "coaching" with them both about learning to talk about emotions, which was a bit of a process because my parents don't talk about such things (hence her problems). I continued praying for guidance, talking with her, and mended our relationship. I laid out for her a timeline of sorts to show my theories on WHY her symptoms started (us leaving home), and the progression of them over time as they related to emotional issues in her life. It was hard because of her severe brain fog... Sometimes an uphill battle, but she is getting better!
The confusion is dramatically improved, as is her pain and energy levels. Her and my dad are talking all the time, and have even had a few dates. Their relationship is slowly improving because of all of this, which is nearly as miraculous as the improvements in her symptoms. She still has a ways to go, and will have to continue to practice this new way of thinking of her body and illness, but she is on the road to recovery. I am so far beyond grateful that I was led to the knowledge I was so I could bring my Mom back to us. I urge everyone to read and research more about this powerful link between mind, body, and emotions.

I had Fibromyalgia for over 30 years with my CFIDS/ME. About 15 years ago, I was researching and came across researchers using Minocycline for Lupus. I was also looking at the Garth Nicholson protocol.
I decided to try Minocin which is the brand name for generic minocycline. Almost within 2 days, my fibromylagia symptoms started to melted away. I got some more minocycline prescriptions but my progress reversed.
I decided to go back to minocin and my progress continued. It seems many minocyclines batches are of bad quality. After a while I didn't need it anymore. Fifteen years later and my fibromyalgia is controlled and I sleep well so I still don't need the minocin anymore.
This is my recommendation. You could bypass a doctor presciption by buying and test the antibiotic minocycline from a pet supply place. This is low cost route also. Take bromelaine with it. This is very important. Bromelain increases the effectiveness of antibiotics so may be strong enough to work or give you a good enough indication of it's effectiveness. It also will prevent resistance since it removes any protective sheath from bacteria. If that doesn't work, you could optionally ask a doctor for a test prescription just to see if it works.
I tolerate that antibiotic very well so never run into any problems. I took it for two years to test it against CFIDS/ME. It is suppose to cross the blood brain barrier the best. You will likely know pretty quickly also. Always take Bromelaine with antibiotics. There may be a more natural antibiotic out there so this could be starting point.
Forget about what those mainstream doctors say. The cause of Fibromyalgia is some type of infection. Claiming that it is a defect in some muscles is absurd.
I have found much success in taking Miracle Mineral solution for Fibromyalgia. I am 61 now and started taking it in my mid 50's. I suffered with it for many years. Found relief in just a couple of days. I find hydrogen Peroxide helps with infections like MMS does. My first read through on this site, I went out and purchased baking soda, borax, tea tree oil, hydrogen peroxide, Apple cider vinegar, and castor oil. Find I'm doing very well taking these products for ailments discussed on this site. These remedies are fantastic. I feel blessed. Thank you.
Fibromyalgia: I have had muscle pain for over 40 years. I have taken potassium, sodium bicarbonate, magnesium, and calcium without relief. I started taking monosodium phosphate at 2 grams a day. This has brought about some relief which has allowed me to exercise with push ups without as much pain. Just thought I would share my experience.
About 1 1/2 years ago I woke up on my back in bed with my legs extended straight out. I bent my knees and screamed out loud in agony at the pain. I did NOT have any knee pain prior to going to sleep the night before. I could barely walk. Then things got worse. My lower back and upper back had "pockets" of what felt like something bulging under the skin. My son could feel this "pocket of something' when he massaged my legs and back. It was not my imagination.
Then my upper arms hurt horribly. I could not pick up even a coffee cup due to the pain. Then I could not lower myself onto the toilet without screaming in pain or get up either. Taking a bath was a nightmare as well getting in and out of the tub. I went on like this for a good 6 months getting worse every day. I did try everything under the sun for relief. Even using capsacian alcohol rub mixed with DMSO, and other things heated up and used in a very hot compress on the bad areas of my body. That did not help. At the same time my adult son had a horrible pain in his right groin area including his testes. This pain comes and goes for him.
I was able to consult with a former scientist in Russia (friend of son) who has this same problem. He insisted it was an introduced bacterial infection which would make sense as the affected areas would move around my body. The only way I can expel this bacteria is to cough up very, very thick mucus which reminds me of rubber peanuts.
After much trial and error I have hit upon a regieme of home medications that have worked for me. I take MSM capsules 1,000MG two at a time several times a day. I also have been using oil of oregano drops in chocolate milk (only thing I can stand to cut the oregano burn and taste) 2 times a day. I started with 2 drops and then worked up to 5 or 6 drops per cup of milk. I know when I use too many drops as my whole system feels like it's onfire - then I drop back to 2 or 3 drops and feel okay.
At night I feel I can run a marathon or do stuff that I can not do in the daytime. I got so bad I could NOT even roll over in bed as it hurt so much!!! Staying in bed is not the answer either. I walk to the mailbox when I first get up and that seems to help. My lower back hurts when I get up as it seems the bacteria has settled there overnight. My upper thighs hurt horribly on the outside area when I walk most times. My chest hurts horribly when I cough or sneeze as I must in the morning to cough out the goo. I go to bed feeling fine some nights and wake up a royal mess the next day having done nothing out of the ordinary. I can't even walk around most stores to shop as I hurt horribly. Getting up into my old Jeep is an event as well as I must hoist myself up by the steering wheel. Going up and down stairs is mostly a very painful experience.
About 6 months ago my son's inner thigh hurt so much to walk he had to use a cane and he's only 30 years old!! He can't take MSM as he literally can't get to sleep for several days after taking one pill!! Fortunately for me I can take all I want of this stuff and it does not bother me with any ill side effects.
His inner thigh groin pain comes and goes. My "bacteria" comes and goes. Some days I'm a royal mess and then others I can walk up and down stairs and walk okay to some extent with no problems. I think the connection to fluoride is not applicable to me or my son as we were not exposed to any water source that had this in it. Where I live is well water. We also use nonfluoride toothpaste so I am really stumped where we "got" this from. We were both ill with the flu right after my knees in bed incident though and my Russian friend thinks the bacteria entered my body and mutated then from the flu germs. My son had his groin problem after we were ill with the flu. My bacteria problem got horribly worse as well after we had the flu. I am now 67 and my son is 31. We have severe bouts of horrible lethargy with no enthusiasm to do much of anything some days.
I did try ACV and borax and baking soda and all that did to me was make me ill. When my body is ridding itself of the bacteria I get horrible bouts of indigestion to the point where anything including plain water gives me indigestion!!!
I refuse to see a doctor as my Russian friend said when he went to the doctors all they did was pump him full of extra strength antibiotics which worked until he stopped taking them as he took too many of them. He can't take MSM either. They insisted he had fibro and he insisted he had a bacterial infection. I don't have Medicare and don't want it just to have the doctors perform all sorts of tests on me to tell me they "think" I have fibro.
I'm doing fine on the MSM and oil of oregano drops every day and will continue with that regieme until I find something else to take.
Advice after 18+ years of Fibro treatments and remedies
I have compassion for all those who are going through pain and am here to lend some helpful information that I learned on my journey of health.
A little background, I developed pain in all parts of my body that came on strong and for no reason in my early 20's. I would rest and eat healthier but it would take weeks to go away and then return under normal circumstances. I saw a doctor and they offered no help other than pain killers. So, I started doing yoga and dietary changes and that helped some. I started taking Epsom salt baths and that helped more. But I still had pain and fatigue and so I saw a multitude of doctors, chiropractic, allopathic, naturopathic, holistic, TCM and others. I even went to live in a Yoga ashram for 2 years and ate most every type of diet including vegan, vegetarian, paleo, and other food combinations. I have tried most every remedy here and can say they all helped me in some way, but I still had pain. So, I have learned how to heal myself with the following things, but the pain comes back when I don't live a healthy balanced life.
Here are the common ones that helped me and then later some that are not mentioned here:
First, I eat mostly fresh organic foods and exclude toxic foods. It also helps when I am sleeping well, laughing often and letting go of the past. Exercise is mandatory for my health as is drinking lots of pure water. After those here is what helped me most.
1) Epsom salt bath with essential oils and candles. This will help manage the pain more than most anything else. The body is full of toxins and needs to be cleaned in salt water. Best taken alone in clean, chemical free water with 2-4 cups of salt. Use Epsom salts, baking soda, sea salt and others. Add a few drops of 1-3 different essential oils, use your personal favorites, I like bergamot and cedar. Place at least 4 candles around the tub with 1-2 at each corner, I use 8 of the tall glass church candles and don't leave this part out!!! Do 2-4 times a week and spend at least a half hour in the tub, but 1-2 hours is better. Listening to music and practice deep breathing.
2) Talking a walk in Nature to clam the mind and rebalance the stress response. Enjoying natural beauty is the key to any health issue and often left out. Ground with bare feet is awesome and though it may not fee like much at first, it will increase in benefit over time.
3) Trying only one new remedy at a time. Only introduce one thing per week or even better per month and test to see if it noticeably changes your health. This is very important and must be followed to know what works and what does not. Otherwise it will all be confusing and moat likely never be clear what helps and what hurts. This was recommended by a wise old doctor and totally helped me to take control of my own health journey.
Good luck and keep going, it will get better for you soon.
After being totally disabled with fibromyalgia, I have been out of pain and off meds for 13 years. I didn't happen over night, but it did happen. I did it by balancing my hormones, initially balancing brain chemistry, cleaning up my diet, and clearing some toxins, which is likely something you won't hear in your doctor's offices.
I have been studying and working the past 13 years to help others in their recoveries. I want people to get well.
Don't accept the word "incurable. " Keep fighting for restored health. If I can get well, why can't others. I believe something better is out there with your name on it. I want to encourage each of you with fibromyalgia. I understand what you are going through. I have been there.
Here is what I have done to get well.
1. Identify and correct hormonal imbalances using plant-based replacement.
2. Initially corrected brain chemical imbalances, particularly improving a naturally occurring brain chemical called dopamine.
3. Cleaned up my diet and eliminated milk, a food that was causing trouble for me.
4. Cleaned up some toxins.
Rheumatologists and patients typically don't understand the symptoms of hormonal imbalance. I want to help change that. The technology is in the here and now to identify and correct hormonal imbalance.
Do a little research to see if you have symptoms of hormonal imbalance. If you have many of these symptoms, study to find out how to identify and correct imbalances. Here is a hug to each of you. I want you to feel well again.

I have tried most of the remedies in here for my fibromyalgia but either they don't work or they work for a week or two and then the pain just comes back. Two remedies work real well for me. One is guaiphenesin which is found in over the counter remedies for expectorants. I tried the pill forms but they are so full of stearates that they don't work very well. I also tried the liquid remedies but they are too weak. I found a seller on the internet that sells it in pure powder form by the pound and I put it in 000 capsules. There is a diet that goes with using it to make it work better but it takes out all the healthy foods that I eat and you can't take other herbs with it. I don't eat breakfast anyway and so I just take it in the morning and I don't take anything else until noon and it works well for me that way.
The other remedy that I take is wormwood tincture. I took this years ago for parasites after reading Hulda Clark's book. I took it for a couple of years and it made me feel better but I stopped after I built the zapper. After that my symptoms gradually became worse. I took some a little while back and some symptoms went away. One of my symptoms is a cramped up colon which keeps the food I eat from going on through. When I take the wormwood first thing in the morning in warm water it opens up my gut and helps everything to move through more smoothly like it should. This helps out with the prevention of Candida and makes other remedies work better. So wormwood has uses other than parasites. Because this is an herb it cannot be taken with guaiphenesin so I take a few days of it and then I switch.
One other thing I do that really helps is to take a bile salt supplement first thing in the morning with plenty of warm water. This can be taken with either the wormwood or guaiphenesin. Bile is the body's natural remedy for Candida and this is why I think it works so well. If you are thinking of trying this don't order a 500 mg ox bile as this is way too strong to be taken on an empty stomach. Buy 125 mg and work up from there by taking one more capsule until you find your tolerance and as I said take it with plenty of warm water.
Movement for me is as important as any remedy so I do some light yoga and I walk. It may start out painful but the pain goes away as I move. If I sit too long it gets painful again. Sleep is also a very important remedy for me so to make sure I get some deep sleep I take GABA, B12, and melatonin as well as holy basil at bed time. I sometimes take alpha lipoic acid at bed time. The GABA is pure powder and the B12 is liquid with folic acid. The melatonin is in liquid.
Other supplements I take are L-Lysine, L-Ornithine, and magnesium chloride. Other remedies I take from time to time is ACV, VCO, Ted's carbi-carb and a tap water conditioner.
I hope this helps some of you with stubborn cases.

I get magnesium oil from Swanson for $8.99 for 8 ounces. They also have a half gallon for $39.99 or if you buy 3 of the 8 ounces bottles it is $19.99. I mix it half and half with Concentrace brand Trace Mineral Drops and spray it on painful spots on my body. I have ankylosing spondylitis and fibromyalgia, so I have a lot of painful spots. I get a lot of pain relief from the mixture. It stings and itches, but I try to wait at least 10 or 20 minutes before I shower it off. After the shower I feel like I just got out of hot springs, which was my goal in trying this. My chiropractor is getting more areas of my spine to adjust than he has in years.
I believe I've had fibromyalgia since my teens but wasn't diagnosed until age 34 (I'm now 73). I developed fibromyalgia in the 1940's or 50's, before fluoridation, artificial sweeteners, antibiotics, plastic storage containers, teflon, mercury fillings, and other products that we often think may cause fibro. I was able to ignore my diagnosis at 34 for most of my life until I had a very bad flare 5 years ago. It cleared up after about 8 months but then a series of very stressful events began and I just got sicker and sicker, to the point of being suicidal. I have been trying all sorts of things for help (but I don't and won't ever take prescription meds for fibro, due to side effects). I have had good relief from pain by taking creatine (I get an inexpensive pre-mixed preparation from the grocery store made for athletes). It truly changed my life and gave me hope. More recently I was tested for Vit D and found my numbers are very low. My Dr. prescribed megadoses for it until next November. The issue with Vit. D is that the lack of it has very similar symptoms to fibromyalgia. I would encourage any fibro sufferer who hasn't been tested for Vit. D do so before beginning anything else. In my area, the test costs $85 but I would recommend giving up something else if need be, to pay for it. I think my fibro symptoms are generally cleared up for now (I will never be free from fibro, just trying to keep it in the background). I recently did three weeks of H202 internally for general cleansing, and now have started on ACV for hypertension and arthritis pain. Nothing to report on that yet tho. The last 5 years have been very difficult for me and I know many others are in the same boat. I say to you, hang in there, keep reading and trying everything you think might help.
I suffered from Fibromyalgia for 3 years, which I believe was triggered through a traumatic experience I went through. For those who suffer, you know the unbearable pain, not to mention the fatigue. It affected the entire left side of my body from my temple to my toes, 24 hours a day and getting through my work day was about all I could do. The tightness, tenderness, and pain was unbearable and there was never relief for me. I tried prescribed medicine, physical therapy, massage therapy and chiropractor care, all to no avail. I used to walk 30 miles a week and I couldn't anymore, the pain was too much. I was starting to become sedentary and then depression hit, then I started gaining weight, 30 pounds in all gained. At one time during this struggle I had told my doctor it felt as if I had slowly been poisoned. I had tried some of the things suggested on Earth Clinic's web site, the borax, apple cider vinegar and baking soda, vitamins, and they helped some but my pain was still very overwhelming. Then I wondered, what if I had been poisoned? So I took a look at my environment and at what I was eating. I stopped drinking bottled water and bought a stainless steel water bottle that I fill every day. I got rid of all my plastic storage containers - no more heating and reheating things in plastic containers in the microwave. I use glass. Then I started to slowly change my diet, eliminating MOST processed food and changing to organic for ALL fruits and vegetables, milk, eggs, etc... Next, I threw away all of my household cleaning products and now use a particular organic brand who's soap is all-one, just some really hot soapy water will do the trick for most jobs. Guess what? I started feeling better! This process took about 4 months but I was beginning to feel better. I felt better enough to try YOGA which has been a tremendous help. I am now a firm believer in YOGA and its healing effects on the body. The deep breathing and stretching the muscles has been a saving grace for me. The first 2 weeks were painful but it started to get easier and then it started feeling really good to do it. Now I am doing another excellent exercise program that is building my muscle strength and stamina back up and I'm still feeling better. The amazing thing is that I am ABLE to do it! I'm not pain-free yet, but my pain went from a 10 (being unbearable pain) to a 2, it's there but it's minimal. This process has taken about 7 months to get there and I feel positive that this will leave my system because of the changes I made in my environment, my diet, and because of YOGA. I know what a horrible struggle FM is and I am thankful I have found something that works for me. I hope this helps someone else out there struggling.
