Lower back pain and degenerative disks caused my sciatica, and switching to a vegan diet opened up my blood flow to the area so I could get nutrients in and out. It really helped. Google Dr Greger videos, he talks about how blocked arteries cause this.

Have you tried a chiropractor for your sciatica pain? I had terrible sciatica pain for a long time. I went to the chiropractor and she adjusted my hip and it went away.

Your nausea is more than likely a reaction as the Ginger travels through your digestive tract.

Blockages are being released (these are oftentimes hardened on putrified foods that were never properly digested.

It would be advisable to drink extra waterwith the juice of a lime to flush your system..

Colonics are a wonderful way to remove the blockages.

Sorry but sea salt didn't work for me. I'm having an awful time so have been trying just about anything. This was a fail for me.

Sunshine from Dana Point, CA: Please google helichrysum essential oil. It is exceptional for sciatica nerve pain, as well as other forms of muscle pain as well. Buy *therapeutic grade essential oil and apply liberally to area of pain every few hours, and the patient will find relief. Good luck, Tina

Vitamin C
Posted by Tony (Feltham, Middlesex) on 12/18/2011

Since discectomy/laminectomy procedure 1994 I have suffered terribly with back pain. Mainly now I am suffering with severe sciatic pain. I so wish this website was available to me in 1994. I feel sure I could have cured myself. Unfortunately I trusted the butcher who told me I needed surgery. My disc only showed a slight bulge. These butchers will tell you anything to make some money. Never again will I trust the opinion of a back surgeon. Just wondered if you could share which vitamin C you used to cure your back pain? Taking that amount of vitamin C would surely cause stomach problems? Apparently with normal vitamin C tablets you only absorb about 12%. I've just purchased some vitamin C. It takes sixteen 500mg Vitamin C tablets to equal just one of my 1000mg Vitamin C packets. The technology works so you absorb between 95-98%. I've only been using it a few days and will let you know if it works. Good luck to everyone on this site.

Reply to 12/18/2011: Tony from Feltham, Middlesex.

You are correct to ask what type of Vitamin C to mega dose with. I almost called 911 when I mega dosed with "L-ascorbic acid or L-ascorbate" Vitamin C.

It's much safer to mega dose with "Calcium Ascorbate" Powder Vitamin C. Especially if one suffers from IBS, Crohns, intestinal or stomach problems.

Having said that, keep in mind that it's calcium rich & could lead to other problems, IF mega dosing for extremely long periods of time. Perhaps Magnesium would off set the calcium mega dose.

Then there is "Sodium Ascorbate" Vitamin C. (I have not tried this one). It's sodium rich which also could lead to problems, IF mega dosing for extremely long periods of time.

Either way, both the Calcium & Sodium Ascorbate are much easier on the stomach & intestines.

Talk to your local health food store to confirm.

Wow - I just did your second exercise there for 20 seconds each and all the tightness disappeared. Thanks so much!

Swimming (over arm and backstroke) and cycling up a good steep hill several times do the same thing and gets your circulation going more than a stretch. You may hurt directly after but the next day you will be fine.

what about using plain ginger or ginger root tea? For those of us that don't want all the sugar. Is it the ginger or the combination of?

Dietary Changes

★★★★☆

Caffeine, especially coffee, is one of the biggest triggers of my sciatica. It's one of the main reasons I had to quit.

My sciatica flares up worse when I quit coffee but it gradually gets better.

I believe the relief people feel from coffee may be the body getting its "fix" and pain is the body wanting it's fix, but that's the cruel irony of coffee. It creates the problems it "fixes".

Thank you for the good information of the right kind of HA. I ordered the rooster comb based HA and it's supposed to come today. I also have the other type of the HA. Should I only take the one that is rooster comb based or should I also take the other form with it? Also is it best to take 4 at a tiime or take 2 in morning and the other 2 before bedtime?

Do you still take it?

Can you please tell me if you continue to take this biocell formulation as maintenance when you are no longer in pain? I have suffered for over 35 years but it flares up off and on. I had surgery L5-S1 in late eighties causing nerve damage in my right leg As I grow older the effects progressively have gotten worse Presently I am in severe pain which started as sciatica and spread across my lower back I am going to try your recommended formula and am in hopes it will work. If it does, what do you recommend as maintenance.

Vitamin D

Hi Lisa! Your experience with vitamin D is inspiring. Thanks for sharing it. Did you take only vitamin D? Or did you take it in combination with any other vitamins or supplements? Can you please tell me? I would be very thankful to you.

My mother is suffering from sciatica pain and she's old.

Did you use instant coffee at home? If so, how much coffee of each? 1/2 tablespoon? 1 teaspoon? Did you drink black, with sugar, with cream? Please advise. I don't drink much coffee. I've had sciatica the last 4 days and the stretches are not working any more.
