Thank you everyone for for the glowing testimonies on acv. Ive had some around for yrs and was never able to really get used to drinking it until recently I got a new job and was getting a migraine like everyday. I was taking a popular migraine over the counter pill to get rid of it and I know that it was making me sick so I thought to look on here and thier were so many positive testimonies and I wanted to get off the medicine due to the caffine in it was hurting my bladder.

The first day I did like 5 rounds of the honey with the Apple Cider Vinegar in about 8oz of water the following day like 3 rounds then 2 then none for a day or 2. Never had a migraine since. Yay!!!!

So today I took a supplement that I had an allergic reaction to, lots of sneezing and this caused my bladder to leak. My eyes were horribly itching too. So I came back here and looked up allergies and here it was again ACV the cure all. Within a half hr all the allergy symptoms were completely gone. I am very greatful for this site and wanted to contribute due to the wonderful and simple effects of the ACV. What I love best is that anyone can afford it. I have a few health books by the braggs family and they are great but I really love this site best due to the specific testimonies. Thank you Ted for everything you do to help the health challenges of so many of us. Organic mama

Organic Mama from Minneola, Fl: From your Clermont neighbor... Thanks for the advice. Had a whopper of a menstrual migraine all night, it's still here. Going to try your remedy. I use ACV and baking soda already, but never tried it with the honey. I'll let you know if I get some relief. Thanks again!!

I don't care for honey so I tried the ACV with molasses... It's heaven! It tastes like the popcorn balls we used to eat as children! Yay!

What are the proportions of honey, ACV, and water?

ACV definitely helps with my migraines, which start in the back of my neck and creep through my head into the forehead. Nothing helped anymore unless I'd take something so strong that it could be dealt on the street. Not my cup of thea though and I drive a school bus! I tried the 2-3 tbsp. ACV in about 8 oz of water with a little honey. It really tastes good, like tart apple juice. Anyway about 20 minutes later my migraine/headache was considerably better and I could think straight again and the fatigue that usually comes with this headache was gone. I drink the concoction now everyday at least once and more whenever needed.

Thanks to all who recommended it!

Can you do ACV tablets instead of the drink? Asking this because of a child who can't palate the taste?

Most people say that the pills don't work, just as regular apple cider vinegar (the clear stuff) does not work as well. The cloudy vinegar...that has the Mother in it seems to be the best choice. One suggestion I have for you is to put the vinegar in fruit juice (apple is my favorite) and much easier to drink. I don't know where this idea came from that you have to drink it in water with honey. Try it with juice, it's much better. Another thing to try is to drink it with a straw which will get the liquid to the back of the throat without tasting it as much.

One other thing.....never put your vinegar in the fridge, the mother is a living thing and the cold will kill it.

My husband read that vinegar reduced cramping in athletes - so he tried it for the leg cramps he gets from riding 40 miles on his bike. One day he suggested I try it for my frequent migraines - he thought it could affect the sodium channels that are linked to migraines. I get the kind w/ hypersensitivity to light, sound, etc., sometimes w/ naseau. Well, it's not 100%, but it works fast and helps more than other painkillers. He uses approx 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar in 2-3 TBS water. Someone should do clinical research on the sodium channel aspect as per migraines.

Better But With Side Effects

I have occassionally have migraines. They usually are accompanied by the usual light sensitivity, nausea, vomiting, etc. Yesterday I began to have an aura (preceeds the migraine) with vision disturbances, light sensitivity, and nausea. I tried the apple cider vinegar remedy and I felt better within about half an hour. I probably would have felt better much sooner but the apple cider vinegar itself makes my stomach feel not so good. Once the apple cider vinegar stomach upset was gone all my other symptoms were gone with it and no headache occured.

I had to write in since I am so amazed! Lastnight I had 2 adult beverages (light beer). I am an occasional drinker. I enjoy organic, wine, sake (Japenese wine), and light beer. I drink maybe once or twice per month. Before retiring last night after drinking the beer(was up later then usual), I drank a bottle water, some pumpkin seeds (for magnesium), and a little chocolate cake from weight watchers. I think the beer, seeds & chocolate triggered one of the worst migraines I have ever experienced. This morning I was feeling very sick with every symptom. I laid down in a quiet room and went back to sleep, awoke by a phone call and felt a tiny bit better but still had the migraine. I ate a 1/2 bagel, some sips of green tea. I got online and found this website. I went to the kitchen and whipped up 8 oz chilled water, disolved a tablespoon on organic raw honey and 2 TBS of ACV. It was a little yuk but not undoable. I downed it in 3-4 gulps. I started to get an immediate result! I went upstairs put my feet in a hot bath and placed a cool towel on the back of my neck for 5 minutes. I went back downstairs got my veggie steamer out, poured in about 2 tbs ACV and placed my face over the steamer for 5 minutes.

Conclusion, I feel 95% headache free! I am not sure if I have sinustis since I have been having seasonal allergy symptoms or if it was a combination with the alcohol and diet. I found all of above-mentioned natural remedies here on this fantastic widesite. It is my first time visiting here and I will keep it handy for sure.

I am so relieved to have found a natural remedy that so-far works amazingly!

Thank You!!!!

I wanted to put my two cents in regarding Apple Cider Vinegar for migraines: I have had migraines all my adult life and have been on various medications for them, some of which worked somewhat and some which didn't. In recent years I've tried natural remedies as well, and several months back read about ACV for migraines. I began drinking 2T in warm water with honey, and drank it every day for two months. In addition, when a migraine came on during that time, I chugged a glass of the same mixture. I am sorry to say neither method worked in the least bit. I have had luck with ACV for dermatological issues and as a hair conditioner, but for migraines and (my son's) asthma, it didn't work at all. I'm glad it's a cure all for some, and really wish it had worked for us. Oh well!

I have been having menstrual migraines for the last 15 years - up to 10 a month recently - and had been put on all sorts of drugs. I came across a site which mentioned lack of magnesium being a cause of migraine. When I asked to be put on a trial to see if it would work for me the doctors at hospital said they had never heard of such a thing so I started taking a supplement myself. Since taking the Magnesium I am down to 2-3 migraines a month. I am now taking the ACV mixture and look forward to seeing the effects of that.

I too suffer red from menstrual migraine a week before and after my period for the past 20 years. One day I had a sudden urge to eat oats. So I started taking it every morning for breakfast for 2 weeks. When my menstrual cycle came, the migraine was completely gone. I also make sure that I have enough sleep cos lack of sleep would also trigger the migraine.

With a migraine, you can't take a medicine (vinegar) with something as metabolically significanty as honey and discount it as not working. I'm not saying that ACV works, but as a ten year sufferer of extreme migraines, what I do know is that sugar metabolism is intimately involved. I know that the ACV doesnt taste good, but grin, bear it, and take it on its own to evaluate its effectiveness.

Also, that goes for medicines and supplements in general. You should always start with administrations of small amounts of singular supplements and skip combinations and large amounts until you are used to what small amounts of single substances do.

I get menstrual migraines, every month pretty much. I want to try the Apple Cider Vinegar and honey mixture. Do I need a specific type of honey? I use organic and raw Apple Cider Vinegar already on a fairly regular basis and occasionally drink with blackstrap molasses. Imitrex is the only med that helps me so far, I could take a thousand Advil, Tylenol whtever and it wouldnt make a difference for my migraines. I also forgot I have Magnesium but not all magnesium supplements are the same and I was told the Mag Glycinate is really good, especially if I remember to take it lol. Im so tired of migraines, I wouldnt wish them on anyone.

Hi,Just wanted to comment on the acv treatment for migraines. It works. I started this a couple of years ago. Migraines run in my family. Severe ones. Nothing has ever worked. Came across this site a couple of yrs ago, decided to try it. Tasted really awful, but the bad taste outweighed having another migraine. I took it faithfully twice a day. My migraines went away. I didnt get sick at all. Well I decided to come off of it. I thought I was cured, haha. Not long after, got the flu twice within 2 months, migraines started coming back. Needless to say, I am here to say it is my daily regimen, now. I use unsweetened apple juice (32 oz.bottle), 1/4 cup honey, and 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar. Shake it up real good. to melt honey, run it under hot water. I drink about 4 oz morning and night. The taste is bad to begin with, but hang in there. It does grow on you. IT WORKS. Best migraine preventive medicine I have ever taken. Hope it work for you. Please give it a try. What have you got to lose.

wow! ACV really worked for my boyfriends migraine. He was in soooo much pain. I could not stand to see him like that. So after taking meds and nothing happened i came across this site. So I ran out to the store and got migraine meds and Apple cider vinegar.

When I got home, he was in the bathroom with his face in the sink filled with water! I wanted to laugh but I couldnt. So I made him a mix of 8oz of water with 1 tbl of honey and 2 1/2 tbl of ACV. I had him drink it and it worked so fast!! He was so surprised!

I kid you not, within 2 minutes he was like im going to play NBA Live (A video game on Xbox) I was like OMG! One sec he was dying and the next minute he is playing video games. I am so happy that I came across this site. And I dont usually post anything, but I hope this helps someone else out.

Thank you so much for posting this! I came home last night from class with a huge migraine and I felt so sick and dizzy. The right side of my head was pulsing from the pain! I started to cry from the pain and my husband was getting ready to take me to the hospital. I googled home remedies for migraines and came across this site and this post. Instead of taking me to the hospital he went to H-E-B and bought honey and Apple Cider Vinegar. I feel so much better!

My mom has been suffering with migraines for over 70 years. Many times a couple times per week. Horrible pain that lasts for several hours. Had been to the doctors many times with very little relief. Since finding this site I have been giving her 8 ounces of water mixed with two tablesoons of honey and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar everytime she starts to get a migraine. It has reduced the severity of the headaches by about 85%. Mom is very grateful to this site. I don't think it would be good for her to drink this everyday, so I only give it to her when she is starting to get a migraine.

One month ago, I came across this site in search of help for my chronic headaches and migraines. Over the Counter meds didn't seem to touch my pain and while my prescription meds did help take the migraines away... it didn't help with the daily headaches. I was so tired of having headaches. I just wanted to make it one day without the pain of my head pounding! After reading the feedback of others, I thought I had nothing to lose by trying APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. So I did.... and IT WORKED! I couldn't believe it. I have been taking 1 ACV tab 2 times a day. I have not had a migraine since (I was having 3 or 4 a month) and although I have had a few "regular" headaches, it's nothing like before. Not only has ACV helped my headaches, it has also help with my allergies. ACV may not work for everyone, but I am so thankful that it worked for me!

Thank you all so much for posting this info about ACV for migraines. One day a couple months ago I was hit hard with a very painful one with sinus issues too. Desparate because pain relievers didn't work, I thought, "well, one more google search. " I read your page, and following someone's story I: drank ACV water, started to feel better. Earlier I could barely walk. Then put some ACV in hot water and "steamed" my face over it for a few minutes, took an epsom salt bath, and felt almost normal after word. Took another "shot" of ACV water and I was good to go! What a relief! Now I drink a generous splash of ACV in water a couple times per day and haven't had a headache or migraine since I started doing that. Seriously, not making this up. Really grateful.

I just though I would let your readers know that I just started the ACV remedy daily regiment to prevent migraines as I am weaning off my daily meds (that were causing hearing loss after 5 years on them!!). So far so good! I will say that w/o the honey, I couldn't pallette the taste, so I mixed it with La Croix (but any brand UNSWEETENED) Lime water. It is carbonated and tastes slightly sweet even though it has no artificial sweetners (a must for any migraine folks). For some reason it really cuts the "yuck" factor considerably!

Just a tip! Saved me and now I am working the cure!

I have migraines quite often. I've been reading all the testimonials regarding apple cider vinegar. The thing is I'm not quite sure what to mix it with; some use water, lime juice and many other things. I am interested in the "daily" regimen to see if it can prevent them also. How much should I use and mixed with what? Thanks.

Apple cider vinegar cured my migraine. I woke up at 4 in the morning with a very strong migraine and headache, drank a desertspoonful of ACV with water, and walked around outside and 5/10 minutes later it was gone. I went back to sleep and woke up perfectly healthy later and stayed fine all day. What a brilliant remedy, what a brilliant site - thanks for sharing the knowledge. I wrote about lettuce but it doesn't compare with ACV because eating lettuce only prevents it -- doesn't cure like ACV does.

WOW! I have come to love the wonderful product of ACV. I have had severe allergies and sinus problems since I could walk. Chronic bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsilitis (they have lonce since been removed), rhinitis, etc... I have always taken prescription medication. However I am 8 mos pregnant and have not been able to take anything but over the counter Tylenol products. For the past 3 days I have been down and out with a severe sinus migraine, congestion and pressure. Nothing worked and I am sleep deprived! Adding these symptoms to 8mos of pregnancy spells MISERY for sure. I was desperate so I hopped online and what do you know? I found the same product that cured my husband of his pesky wart will also clear my sinuses. I only wished I found this info sooner! I took 1 tbsp of ACV with 8oz of water and downed. Then I made a mixture and put it in my veggie steamer (ACV is also a great residue cleaner) and sat over it for about 5mins. Everything started to clear up within the hour. I then rinsed with saline solution and I can breathe out of both nostrils! My headache is almost gone and the pressure almost nil! Oh and by the way the ACV steam bath is great for oily skin. I noticed a difference immediately after the face bath. I was then curious to see if this was a known rememdy for acne/skin problems and sure enough it is!!! In fact, Earth Clinic was the first hit.
I am amazed that such a simple, inexpensive product can do so much. Thank you dearly for this site.

ACV treated my sinus infection! I came across this website looking for a treatment for my recurrent sinus infections that no antibiotics ever took care of, and based on all the reviews I tried the ACV treatment. It worked in ONE DAY!! I can't believe it, because I am a doctor, and am a little wary of home remedies. I did the 2 tbsp in 8 oz of water, and in one day I didn't have as much sinus pressure, and by the second day the constant drainage from the infection had stopped, and my migraines which I have had on and off for years also have not returned. In addition, my bad breath from the infection is gone, and I don't have to constantly be chewing gum anymore! I definitely will be doing this treatment everyday for a very long time, and I've found if you eat just a little bit of bread or crackers with the ACV you don't get heartburn. To anyone who's suffering from a sinus infection, just try this, it doesn't cost you much money at all, and if you've suffered from sinus infections as much as I have, you owe it to yourself to give this a shot!!! Best wishes to all!

I am 49 and have been having migraines for 23 yrs. I recently spoke to a neurologist who told me to take a large dose NSAID I.E. Ibuprophen, relafen, etc. And drink a real Coca Cola (Coke) not a knock off or Pepsi. I prefer Mexican Coke because it has real sugar in it not high fructose corn syrup. It really works! The doc explained that the carbonation speeds the NSAID into the system and the caffeine in the Coke helps, too. He did not advise diet Coke because it has been known to trigger migraines.

Good luck and feel better!

Sorry but this treatment doesn't sound right to me..... Drinking Coca cola and taking pills..... I used to have a lot of migraines and discovered that in my case they came from hormonal changes during my periods. After many years of taking all kinds of medication which hardly helped I started taking an anticonception pill (not the best solution either, I know... But better than the pain and all the pills)called Cerazette and I hardly have a headache anymore. The thing with this pill is that you don't stop taking it for one week so the hormones stay always the same and my period also ceased. Now I am in the menopause (53) so I stopped taking it. It has only been a few weeks but for the time being I feel ok.

Possibly your migrane is mechanical, not chemical; maybe neck misalignment or shoulder stress causing nerves/muscles to be pinched? (I get this from bad 'computer posture' I. E. rounded back, crook neck; and when slouching during studying, driving, bench work, cooking all day). In this case, I use a firm, thick travel pillow (in the shape of a "C"), or lay down on my back with a rolled up towel under my neck, to straighten then neck, then the headaches eventually disappear; adding a heating pad or hot shoulder drape to the area works much faster as it helps release muscles that get agitated and contracted due to the nerve stress. The heating pad with moisture cloth, or the shoulder drapes made with buckseeds or rice (for microwaving) are exceptional since they produce moist heat which penetrates the muscles more quickly and thouroughly. A magnesium supplement will also help the muscles relax/decompress.

Migraine sufferers : I tried a mix of dandelion greens juice the d greens are the base, with carrot and ginger to taste. The d greens , most cities you have to go to a health food store to find and they will mix it for you. I was suffering from migraines and cluster headaches and sinusitis. My naturopathic Dr.told me about this after I drank a 4 oz small glass my migraine was gone, sometimes it would return in a few hours, drink another glass. Migraines are from toxins a lot of time especially when we ( I ) use med, drugs to get rid of them just makes it worse. Especially when you are getting the every other day. The green drink is basically alkalizing you. As opposed to your body being too acidic. Some people are allergic to dandelion greens. I noticed when I did this I also started detoxing, my ears peeled, I had fungus ( not visible ) but itchy behind ears, my mouth came up with this crud. I asked my Dr he said just that Crud, toxins. I drink a glass every day now- no Migraines. I was hospitalized for these such was the pain. You can play with the juice after headaches are gone add fruit to your greens etc. To make it not taste too bad.

It really isn't I believe in Apple Cider Vinegar but this worked better for me. Not expensive. And the relief is instant right after you ingest- no more than ten minutes or sooner. I would have migraine for a week, had to lie in room with dark glasses, no sound or light. Good luck- Read about alkaline and acid. Buy the cheap litmus paper in Drugstore and pee on them to see your range. Good way to tell if your body is too acid, if it is this will work.
Also raises your metabolic rate and brings your temp to normal if below, being alkaline! Brandy
