Hi everyone! I just wanna share how bht work on my hcv( hepatitis c virus) I am a Filipina and working here in Kuwait I was diagnosed with hcv last August 25 2015 when I went through the medical exam that support my working visa in Kuwait. I feel down and didn't believe how I got this virus.. I've done my medical exam twice with the same results that I had hcv. From then I start searching online how and what treatment should I do, until I read this bht all about.. But unfortunately I can't find bht in the Philippines so I order online last September 13 2015 and it's from Illinois...I just received it September 30 2015 and start taking it in the morning without taking food, like what I had read..October 28 2015 I decided to do hcv test and the result is negative. Then again I went manila to report in the agency and November 3, 2015 I had the complete medical exam again and the result is just the same. Its non reactive..God is great! And thanks to Oscar! November 11 2015 I left Philippines...and working here in Kuwait..

Sorry for the immense delay in replying. I have had a hectic time in my personal life. I will keep this brief for the moment then post something more detailed if people are interested.

I was diagnosed as HCV (Hepatitis C Virus) about 6 months ago. Since then I have been taking BHT religously. I also adhere to a very strict diet and exercise regimen. I take other supplements too. Today my gastroenterologist informed me that I my HCV test was negative. In other words the viral load is undetectable. He did not pass on any other information than that. Oscar was correct all along. BHT works.

I wanted to thank OSCAR and RE INPHRASE FOR ALL HCV diagnosed ones. I GOT CURED with BHT. I took it for one year. Was reported on 2012... It is 2016 now, and I just did my last exam as as check up. It reports as non detectable until nowadays and I have stopped taking BHT. I wish I could shout for the whole world.

ALA, NAC, Milk Thistle, Selenium

20+ years ago I was diagnosed and treated for Hep C. At the end of my treatment, tests still showed infection, and that it would most likely come back years later. After starting a regimen of ALA, NAC, Milk Thistle and Selenium I no longer show any infection - and the "professionals" said testing would always show an infection, even if my viral load level was below 10 (it was over 1 millions when I started treatment).

I still take these supplements today and have recently added Sam-E. Don't know if it would work for everyone, but it sure worked for me!

Worked Temporarily

Like Pandora's post below from 8/5/2015, same thing with me. I went from 7.5 million in 2016 to 500,000 viral load 7 months ago. This month I'm at 1.5 million. I've been doing the BHT, Monolauren pellets and other supplements for years and I'm still hep c positive. Harvony and Viekira didn't work.

BTW, I didn't take BHT on an empty stomach and I've been taking too much Vitamin E. My mistake and I think I may have been my own worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and get plenty of choline in your diet.

In 1997, I contracted Hep C from transfusions. Early the next year I finally found the identification of a vine I'd found in the deep woods years before. It is Schizandra glabra (the American species, not chinensis, the Asian species). I read that the Chinese use their species to treat hepatitis, so I started eating the berries/seeds daily, by the handful. I picked and froze a few quarts for a few months' supply. A month later, I found Milk Thistle seeds and added them, about a teaspoon powdered, twice a day. Three months later my hepatologist said there was "not a viral body to be found". I have been Hep C free ever since.

"Wild Mediterranean Oregano Oil"
Get 2 one gallon jugs of distiled water.
Put 20 drops of "Wild Mediterranean Oregano Oil" in each gallon and shake each gallon before taking a drink.
Every time you want a drink of water. Drink from one of the gallons.
This will take 2-3 days to get it finished.
Go get rechecked for HEP C.
Please my friend did this and was healed!

In 2007 I had all the systems of Hepatitis C and had genotype 1. I searched for natural cures and found Colloidal Sliver. After taking Colloidal Sliver everyday for one year my Doctor said he could not believe it because he could find the virus in my blood test at all and that it was gone.

Hi John,

Oscar from Syracuse, NY was our BHT specialist for Viral Hepatitis for many years, but stopped replying to posts a few years ago. At that point (I believe in 2015) he was very ill from surviving a gunshot wound to his stomach in the Vietnam War, and also tired of people questioning his BHT treatment. He was harassed on different forums about his BHT treatment for years, according to emails he sent us. However, he did successfully use BHT for at least 20 years for Hepatitis, so I suggest you read all of his posts on Earth Clinic's 3 hep pages here:

I am sure you will find answers among the posts on Earth Clinic that date back as far as 2008.

Best to you, Deirdre

Chris, I think it's so funny that you agree with yourself as it seems you're commenting on a comment you made in May of 2017. I've been taking monolauren for about a year. You must not take supplemental vitamin E. The reason is that it causes the protective lipid layer on the bacterium or virus to strengthen, thereby not allowing the immune system access in order to destroy the pathogen. Vitamin C may have a similar effect. Monolauren cured my nail fungus and I'm very happy with that.

My viral load went from 7800000 to 750000 as of July, 2018. That's significant. Since then I've added BHT to my diet. I hope the info. on Vitamin E was helpful.

If you want to hang on to the Hep b - C virus then do so. L-Lysine will cause a toxic build up in the liver which will relate to overdose.

I take BHT 350mg per day Chanca Piedra, B12 5, 000 mcg sublingual, B12 1,000 mcg time released and Vitamin D3. My liver functions have come down to the normal range from over 200 ALT. I have Hep C and never felt better. I am suspecting a cure very soon with this treatment and I have the numbers to prove it as opposed to speculation by how you feel.

Also it is beneficial to know what not to take like grape fruit juice, milk thistle, and Vitamin E which has been found in tests to help the hep c virus to duplicate.

Dear Shelby [ San Francisco, California ], Gee, where do I start here? The good news is the " BHT mixture " you are using did seem to cure the herpes infection. Is this the Pearson and Shaw product? It does seem to work very well for a herpes infection from what you stated. Just so you know: Pearson and Shaw never promoted BHT as a cure for a viral hepatitis infection unless they changed their minds about that after they published their book: " The Life Extension Companion " back in 1984. They promoted BHT as a treatment for the herpes viruses in that book. That book is where I first read about BHT.

I do think that this BHT mixture you discussed is NOT as effective as taking BHT by itself for a hepatitis C infection. The ways that BHT is digested when mixed with any fats or lipids is very different than when it is taken by itself with water only. This is discussed in many of the WHO [ World Health Organization ] BHT toxicology reports and there are many said reports.

In my opinion based on many years of discussing this treatment with many people and my own experience with using BHT to treat both hepatitis C and B, taking BHT with water only on an empty stomach is the way to use this treatment for best results. But I need to also caution you by saying BHT is more potent when using this method. For a person who weighs 125 pounds or less the 250mg of BHT per day is about the right amount. Some people can tolerate more and some less. This dosage issue is a tricky one. Age is also a factor. After about age 60 my tolerance for BHT started to go down. I am 66 now and weigh about 185 at this time.

Anyway, these are things to keep in mind. So if you want my opinion start using the 250mg capsules of BHT with water only on an empty stomach and lets see if that works for you. LifeLinks sells a good brand from what people tell me at the 250mg of BHT dosages. It is time for you to knock this infection out. And if it can be done with the BHT great. If it does not work then it is time to look into the NEW DRUGS now available. I know they are expensive, but I thought the health care system in the USA helped pay for said treatments. I really do NOT know about that. This is an issue your doctor should be able to answer.

In conclusion: Give the " BHT ONLY " treatment a try and lets see if you can knock that viral load count down or not. You have shown a gradual but somewhat slow response to the BHT treatment. Lets see if you can do a lot better using BHT only with water on an empty stomach. Link to" LifeLinks " 250mg capsules of BHT here:

Hi Karen... Dr Abram Hoffer used high dosages of B3 -- niacin, niacinamide and inositol hexanicotinate forms -- for decades to help people with schizophrenia, heart disease, fibromyalgia, cancer and other problems. He favoured the use of the niacin and niacinamide forms. Here is an interview where he gives his own opinion on the use of higher dosage niacin and liver toxicity:

AWS: What are the alleged "dangers" of niacin therapy?

AH: Niacin is probably not quite as safe as water, but pretty close to it. Patients ask me, "How dangerous is niacin therapy?" I answer them, "You are going to live a lot longer. Is that a problem for you?"

AWS: Data compiled by the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC) indicates that, over the past 25 years, there have been a total of one or two deaths attributed to niacin. When I looked for evidence to substantiate even this very low number of alleged fatalities, it was absent or assumed.

AH: There have been no deaths ever from niacin. The LD 50 (the dosage that would kill half of those taking it) for dogs is 6000 milligrams per kilogram body weight. That is equivalent to half a pound of niacin per day for a human. No human takes 225 000 milligrams of niacin a day. They would be nauseous long before reaching a harmful dose. The top niacin dose ever was a 16-year-old schizophrenic girl who took 120 tablets (500 mg each) in one day. That is 60 000 mg of niacin. The "voices" she had been hearing were gone immediately. She then took 3000 mg a day to maintain wellness.

AWS: If I do not press this point, a reader will: Maintained high doses of niacin may raise liver function tests, and this is used as evidence of harm.

AH: Niacin is not liver toxic. Niacin therapy increases liver function tests. But this elevation means that the liver is active. It does not indicate an underlying liver pathology. Dr. Bill Parsons discussed this extremely well in his book on niacin and cholesterol (Cholesterol Control Without Diet; Lilac Press, 2000). I personally have been on 1500 to 6000 milligrams daily since 1955. The biggest danger of taking niacin is that you live longer. One of my patients is 112. She does cross-country skiing and has been on niacin for 42 years. The fear doctors have of niacin is not based on data or facts and, like any myth, is very had to eradicate. So many patients are on niacin that by chance some will also have liver damage from other conditions such as alcoholism, hepatitis and so on. Niacin does not make it any better nor worse.

Source: Townsend Letter Novenber 2009

What can also fairly be ascertained from the above is that taking higher dose niacin will quite naturallty increase the working load for the liver. So if you have a liver with insufficient or weak function already due to Hepatitis C problems then taking higher dose niacin may tend to raise liver enzymes because the liver cannot cope or do its job so well.

I would advise that you just take B3 as B Complex -- which should contain niacinamide at a dosage of only 100 mgs. Take this once a day.

The ALA Breakthrough and User's Guide to the B-Complex Vitamins -- by Dr Burt Berkson.

I've recently read the above two books by Dr Burt Berkson and both were an interesting and revealing read because I learnt something useful about these particular nutrients.

The most impressive and remarkable of his books is The ALA Breakthrough which initialy describes his involvement, as a Phd researcher, on the usefulness and helpfulness of ALA to act as a prime anti-oxidant that removes the deathly effects of poison mushrooms on the body. Later, as a qualified doctor, he began researching and using ALA in combination with other particular nutrients like LDN, Selenium and Milk Thistle and the B Vitamins which he applied in their correct orthomolecular and medical amounts to succsessfully treat and combat Aging, Diabetes, peripheral neuropathies, MS, Heart Disease, Pancreatic Cancer, Liver Cancer as well as curing and reviving people with Hepatitis C. ALA also greatly aids patients with the following problems: HIV-positive, AIDS, immunosuppression, psoriasis, eczema, burns, skin cancer, Lou Gehrig's and Parkinson's diseases and other neurological conditions, rheumatoid, arthritis, systemic lupus, scleroderma and other autoimmune diseases, macular degeneration, cataracts and other eye diseases, blood circulation, stroke, and hardening of the arteries.

Dr Burton's other book on B Vitamins is also a must read for his clear and simple insights and explanations. In the book, he goes right through why everyone needs each of the B Vitamns. I would also agree with him about their importance, since most people on western diets are greatly lacking in this group of vitamins today.

Colloidal Silver: how much to take every day for hep.c?

Posted by Oscar (Syracuse, New York) on 07/08/2011

Dear Graham, You brought up a number of concerns about BHT. I will do what I can to address them. One of the concerns you brought up is that BHT is an unnatural compound. This was proven to be FALSE in 2008. BHT occurs naturally in at least some phytoplankton. You can read about that here: http://www.life-enhancement.com/article_template.asp?ID=2168

Now the BHT that is available is produced synthetically, BUT, there is NO difference in synthetically produced BHT and that which occurs naturally. A known compound is a known compound. The molecular structure is EXACTLY the same.

I am aware of all these dire warnings about people with liver disease using BHT. And it is a shame that this is so in my opinion. After all, the prescibable medications are very far from being safe or effective for most people. They are NOT effective for most peple, they only work for about 45% of the people so treated and have very negative SIDE EFFECTS for MOST people so treated. Also, of that 45% that they work for MOST of them relapse in a few years. These prescribable treatments are a careful balancing act of getting enough of these highly toxic medications to destroy enough of the virus to show some improvement without the negative impacts destroying a persons health. Conditions including severe anemia and kidney failure.

The World Health Organization has been investigating the toxicity of BHT for a long time now. Near the end of one of their lengthy reports they state that: BHT is NON-TOXIC to the liver in daily doses of 25mg per kilogram of body weight. A 110 pound person weighs 50 kilograms. 25mg x 50 = 1, 250mg. The dosages I have discussed are 200mg daily for a 180 pound person. I am that 180 pound person I base that dosage on. That is the dosage I used to very effedtively treat my hepatitis-C infection.

As to BHT being a cancer promoter: In the many mice and rat studies it takes massive daily dosages to produce such results, very far beyond the dosages I have discussed.

Dr. Denham Harman`s studies, along with many others indicate that BHT in fact shows BHT to be a cancer preventer in the dosages I have discussed. In fact, Dr. Harman`s critics pointed out that the mice he was dosing had a propensity for getting cancer and that ALL he was doing was preventing these mice from getting cancer and that accounted for their AVERAGE LIFESPAN INCREASE of up to 50%. Well, if his critics are correct about that, I find THAT very significant. Wild mice, those not bred for SHORT LIFESPANS, tolerate even massive dosing of BHT remarkably well.

I have looked at a very many of these mice and rat studies. Some of which seem to be DETERMINED to show BHT as a cancer promoter. In some of these studies, when they did not get the results they desired [ to prove that BHT was a cancer promoter ] they went so far as to mix it with corn oil and inject it into the mice. Corn oil alone, by itself, if injected leads to organ failure as a Californian beautician found out. Read about that here: http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-01-19-mazola_x.htm

A very many of these so called studies mix BHT with corn oil and inject it to PROVE BHT is bad for you. So if you mix BHT with corn oil and inject it, this mixture leads to organ failure. BUT, so does injecting corn oil alone, by itself.

These are the lengths so called scientists have gone to, to prove BHT is bad for you. Make what you will of all that.

I do suggest people choosing to give BHT therapy a TASTE TEST. By this I mean: open up a BHT capsule, lick your finger, daub it on the BHT crystals and lick your finger to test for sensitivity. Then gradually build up the amount you ingest as a precaution for BHT sensitivity. A large majority of people have no adverse effects with BHT at that 200mg daily dose for a 180 pound person I have discussed. I wish well and to be well, ...Oscar

Colloidal Silver

Colloidal Silver is not Carcinogenic. This person can't even spell it properly. Also do your research if you plan to try a colloidal silver. There are true colloids, Ionic colloids (which turn into silver chloride (a worthless salt) as soon as they hit stomach acid) and silver proteins which are most likely to cause argyria. True colloids taken at the proper dosage will not cause argyria. Be sure to get as much information from neutral websites that are not selling a specific product.

I don't know about the use of colloidal silver for Hepatitis, but I don't want to let misinformation about that wonderful product stand without comment. I make my own CS very cheaply and have used it daily for many purposes. It is absolutely best germ fighter that I have ever found. I have ingested it and used it externally for years and I am not dead... nor have I turned blue as other misinformation out there likes to portray.

I've read about how BHT can be toxic to the liver. How can someone take it for hep c if it hurts the liver? I've discontinued my treatment until I find out. Also, some say to take BHT aa a stand alone treatment and to not take it with milk thistle but I'd like to know WHY. I'm doing the Alpha Lipolic Acid and milk thistle regime but I'd like to continue with BHT as soon as I get these questions answered. Thank you in advance.

Awesome! I'm so happy you are doing better!! Keep it up! I do have a question if you have the knowledge .. Can one take Monolaurin (Lauricidin - original formula) with BHT? It seems these 2 are the best remedies for ALL things lipid-enveloped viruses known to man. Might as well use a cocktail and knock out everything .. even the dormant diseases. I wouldn't see it being a contraindication. And why BHT should be used on empty stomach? It's been said by Oscar and others here. It's been scientifically verified as FAT SOLUBLE. Wouldn't it be more potent if used with fat? Confusing. Thanks in advance, Dee!

I am posting here for the first time. I was diagnosed with Hep C on 06/10/2015. It was, of course a shock to me, as I am generally in very good health. I do not have a viral load number but my ALT is 35 and AST is 40. I have an appointment with a specialist in 5 weeks. I assume that they will perform tests to get further information I.e genotype, viral load etc. Anyway upon receiving this news I immediately started researching cures and stumbled across this forum. I ordered a bottle of BHT.. It is due to arrive in a couple of days. I intend to post extremely detailed results on a monthly basis to document my progress on this regimen. I will also keep people posted on any good or bad side effects that I have once I begin BHT.

Posted by Jay (London, England) on 06/26/2015

Once again thanks for your prompt answers and invaluable information. I have indeed poured over every single post on this site regarding Hepatitis C. So I realize that an undetectable reading is simply an indication that the disease is contained but not yet cured. I lead a VERY disciplined life so it certainly wont be a problem to continue the treatment on a 100% basis until I am fully cured. There is always a temptation to add other things but in this case the BHT is proving so effective that I do not see a reason to. I fully intend to keep the protocol simple.

I have increased the dosage to 500mg per day and do not have any side effects. Apart from the improved breathing and clearer eyes, my sleep has also improved. I have been sleeping clear through the night now, whereas before I would often wake up at least once. This is after approximately 2 weeks on BHT.

I will of course keep the forum informed of my progress. Any news, either good or bad, will be reported. I hope that my experience will help others.

New Drugs for Hep C

Dear Id form [ Edmonton, Alberta ]: Thank you for posting this life saving information. There are also some other new drugs with equally impressive results as treatments for hepatitis C.

Yes these treatments are expensive. But $60,000 to $ 75,000 dollars US is NOT all that much if it saves your life.

These NEW drugs are saving people's lives....Oscar

Posted by Oscar (Syracuse, New York) on 05/13/2015

Dear Tobique [ Canada ]: My ONLY concern is your well being. I have NO self interest in promoting this BHT treatment. These NEW hepatitis C drugs DO work very well from ALL the reports I have read. Said treatments are very expensive right now. But those prices will go DOWN as time goes by.

For right now: You are holding up well coping with this hepatitis C infection with the use of BHT. Your liver function is at least close to normal. And your viral load count has pretty much remained the same at 3.7 million or there abouts. That is on the low side of the medium range. One million or less is considered the low range and ten million or more is considered in the high range.

These results are as good as they are. Of course you want WAY BETTER than that. You want to be truly CURED of hepatitis C.

So for right now: You are telling me these new treatments are at this time NOT available to you. That could change in a few years and in my opinion probably will change as the price goes down on these new treatments.

You asked me about iron rich foods. My answer is that excessive amounts of iron do STRESS the liver. So do avoid imbibing EXCESSIVE amounts of IRON.

It is still possible that with some careful adjustment of your diet and supplement intake we can tip the balance and get the desired results with the BHT treatment.

Another important thing you can do is to make sure you drink plenty of quality water. I recommend distilled water. One thing to keep in mind is: The more dehydrated a person becomes, the more concentrated those hepatitis C virons become in your blood. Being dehydrated also DECREASES the BHT metabolites ability to READILY seek out those lipid coated viruses in a person`s blood.

So, in conclusion: Drink distilled water whenever you feel thirsty and cut back on excessive amounts of Iron rich foods and lets see if we can get this BHT treatment working the way it is supposed to work. Hopefully we can tip the balance point you seemed to have reached and achieve a CRASH in that viral load count with the use of BHT ...Oscar

Hello Bonnie,

I've asked the same question of the Earth Clinic audience...whether anyone has had success with Hep B or C usings CS. I THINK CS works to kill all viruses but don't know that for a fact. So I just add to your request to ask the EC audience if anyone has used CS for Hep B or C...let us know your results.

Bonnie, I know this...IF I HAD HEP B OR C...I'd sure try the CS or a few months and monitor the results. Because I am convinced that it would sure be worth the minor effort of drinking CS a few times daily to get back readings one way or the other. Wouldn't take long to get an indication of effectiveness.

One writer on EC that posts often uses BHT. You can go to Remedies and read about that.

In 2007 I went on H202 Therapy and knocked out 18 million copies of the virus. It went from 23 million copies to 5 million copies. I didn't even finish the protocol because of the fasting that it takes in between meals.

I am back on the protocol again because I have been having some liver sensitivity and fatigue and already I am feeling better while only up to the 19 drops. It is also making my arthritic hips and neck feel better.

The protocol can be found at Educate-Yourself.org or I will be glad to email the protocol that I am using but they are very similar. In the protocol that I am using I am adding colloidal silver in the mix.

I just had my viral load down last week and I am at 5 million (and change) copies and will try to remember to post the results when available when I finish the protocol.

Best to All!

I had a test after a month that said "Virus Undetected" and my enzymes were 22 and 26.They came down from 140 and 56.I got the same results a month later as in "Virus undetected and low enzymes again.I finished the drugs and had another test and the results were virus 155,000 and ALT 365 and AST 128.These drugs cost my insurance company $84,000.00.

The results are WORSE than I started out with. My doctor said, "Well the drugs weren't tested that long." I said, "but they were approved by the FDA for big money." Readers BEWARE!

Most chronic illnesses require much time & effort for a real cure, and is especially the case with natural remedies, so don't fall for the error of instant cures and magic bullets.

I have chronic active viral hep and so my treatments are ongoing and maybe one day kill the viral completely. In my experience, BHT is as effective as any remedy but does have limitations. So, I now take once daily approx. 300mg BHT and wait one hr and take 2 caps of ether St John'sWort or Echinacea extract. This combination does a double whammy and success rates or cure are increased for myself.

To the issue of whether consumption of arginine can impact Hep B and C, in theory yes. That is because taking arginine can reduce the amount of lysine (another amino acid) in the body and lycine helps fight off at least one virus...herpes simplex. In theory then, lysine may be helping to keep another virus from springing up... such as Hep B and C. About 15 percent of the population has herpes simplex from the reading I have seen. But by extrapolating from this one might theorize that lysine inhibits viral growth and so, again in theory, if lysine is diminished from the system then obviously its inhibiting viral effects might be reduced also.

HOWEVER there are two solutions to the problem for those like myself who take large amounts of arginine because of its amazing health benefits: After consumption of my arginine in the morning (in a liquid form... 5 thousand mg), in the afternoon, I take 500 mg of additional lysine, just to make sure lysine is not being depleted by such large amounts of arginine. Next, to make sure I am not inadvertently reducing an anti viral ability to help my immune system, I take small sips of colloidal silver at least three times weekly. The silver will act to swish out viruses in my body. I'd love for someone to disabuse me of this "theory" I pose above. That is, that lysine does suppress herpes simplex and thus (the theory) that therefore lysine might be suppressing other viruses also and by extension (continued theory) that supplements of lysine if one is taking arginine should counter arginine's impact on lysine in the system.

My Brother was diagnosed with Hep C and Stage IV Cirrhosis. He contracted HepC when he was 18 from blood transfusions from a motorcycle accident. 40 years later he became quite ill even had an esophogeal bleed which almost killed him. Drs at Kaiser said to go home and wait until he qualified for a liver transplant. Nothing they could do for him since he had the bleed out. We searched the internet and found Dr. Burt Berkson in Las Cruces NM.

We went there for 2 weeks, he was so ill he couldn't even roll his own suitcase to the hotel. After 1 week of treatment, he could go up stairs again, he didn't feel like he had the flu, could walk around and could sleep again. When he finished the treatments after two weeks, we flew back to Los Angeles, my husband picked us up at the airport and couldn't believe his eyes when he saw my brother. Dr. Berkson treats many auto immune diseases. We saw miracles in the 2 weeks we were there with several other people. This treatment is not expensive and works. I wouldn't believe it if I didn't experience it with my brother. Our friend is now being treated for his MS and having amazing results as well. Dr. Berkson uses ALA, Silymarin, Selenium IV's with a B complex injection. He also uses a low dose Naltrexone at night. Dan's MRI after treatment showed diminishing of the lesion on his liver and all of his lab work is moving in the right direction. The Dr at Kaiser asked what he was doing, because he was surprised at how his lab work turned out. We never told him because we thought he would be offended or try to convince us not to go back in 6 months for a "top up".

Berkson looks at your lab work (you can fax it) and tells you if he thinks he can help you or not free of charge. People were there from all over the world telling us about their success with this treatment.

If one is taking selenium this concern is not as critical. Selenium easily binds with mercury keeping it from settling in organs. This same principle is true when it comes to mercury content in many fish. Many of the fish that have slightly high mercury content also have ample amounts of selenium making it highly unlikely that one will absorb mercury and become toxic.

I contracted hep-c in January 1969... I had 4 eye operations in the late 1980's and early 1990's... I also had a deviated septum and rotator cuff operation in the mid 1990's...

A dentist from Tufts Dental in Boston gave me a pain medication for a root canal in 2003 which turned out to be the WRONG medication and I had anaphyectic shock and had to be taken to the hospital in the middle of the night...

They talked me into having a physical at the hospital which I hadn't had since I was born... They found out that I had hep-c and my liver enzymes were AST-33... ALT... 49... One was normal and the nother elevated by points... WHICH IS NOTHING! My PCP (Dr. Marilyn Kovnat) told me when I walked into the office for the results, "You don't have to DIE... You can take interferon. " It was like getting hit with a sledgehammer...

She also said I "NEEDED a liver biopsy. " I was very uninformed with regard to any of this includinfg what was hepatitis c... I had the liver biopsy and walked bent over for 6 months and my enzymes went close to 400 for both of them... I still have both enzymes over 100..

The point being to this mini story that my immune system was keeping my hepatitis c at bay... For 34 years... I had the biopsy and it awoke the virus and it has been hell since... The bottom line for anyone is DO NOT HAVE A BIOPSY... You can have a fibrosure test or a fibroscan test which is the state of the art in Europe and is NON_INVASIVE... It isn't a big money and because of this and (of course) is not recommended or approved in this country... BUT you can get on as I did in Beth Isreal Hospital in Boston...

Good luck and don't let the Dr's run your life... They're LESS ethical than used car sales men...

Finally my PCP talked me into going on Atenolol because my father had a history of high blood pressure... After 20 minutes of discussion/disagreements I agreed to go on it... Bear in mind I never ONCE registered high blood pressure... 9 months later I had to be wheelchaired into a hospital for a 4 1/2 heart operation for ventricular tachycardia... I had a Radio Frequency Catheter Ablation operation... Beware of Dr's advice...

4 out of 5 stars

I contracted Hep C around 1984. A friend mentioned an amino acid called "Alpha-Lipoic Acid" to lower my enzymes levels AST and ALT count. He showed me in a book that had a list of elements that were taken out of our school of medicine in 1950's. I have had a level of roughly 20 AST and 35 ALT ever since. My liver doctor about 10 years ago was completly surprised by the levels, and asked what I was doing to get these levels. I mentioned "Alpha-Lipoic Acid" and he did not recognize it. It is sad when we are controlling what doctors should and shouldn't know. Hope this helps those reading.

Hello Lorenzo,

Thanks for posting about colloidal silver used to treat Hep C. I've never personally known of cs usage for Hep although I've posted a number of times asking if anyone had tried it.

Can you give specifics? I mean load numbers.

There is a well known and very smart poster on EC who often talks of BHT usage with great success. He is always asking for specifics on successes.

So to add to the remedy possibilities, what were your numbers before and after. Hopefully Oscar will weigh in and ask you some questions. He is the poster I referred to.

Interesting... I would like to avoid cardiac damage common to promoted medical treatments. If you don't mind could you provide a link to the synthesis?

How much colloidal silver did you take daily?
