Borax

Hello Bill, I have hepatitis c and peripheral neuropathy. I would like to try Borax for my neuropathy pain, but am wondering if Borax would bother my liver? I have a box of 20 Mule Team Borax I could use. I would use 1/8th of a teaspoon for a liter of water. Don't want to make mistakes. Thank you

Borax
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Philippines) on 07/16/2014

Hi Diane...Using borax should be useful for peripheral neuropathy if the problem is fungal or if it involves mycoplasma. Borax should not cause problems with your liver .

Other supplements which might also help your neuropathy problem:

Alpha Lipoic Acid (300 mgs twice a day)-- helps against neuropathy, heavy metal chelation, removes poisons from blood, regenerates Vitamins A, C, E, D; regenerates Coenzyme Q10 and Glutathione as well. Strong liver supportive.

Milk Thistle(450 mgs twice a day) -- liver support.

Selenium(200 mgs twice a day) -- Generates glutathione for liver support. Glutathione is one of the master antioxidants for the body.

Take B50 complex once a day. The B vitamins are extremely beneficial for nerves, digestion, heart function etc.

Take B12 -- methylcobalamine -- on a daily basis. Also good for the nervous system.

You might also like to consider Ted's remedy for Hep C -- shown here.

Or you might like to try Oscar's Hep C remedy using BHT -- shown here.

Hi Bill, Thank you for the feedback. I am back on the Lugols and borax protocol for 1 1/2 days and my neuropathy is much better after stopping for just one day..

Next week I'm going on a 3 month treatment with Sovaldi and Olysio for my hepatitis c. Would you know or speculate whether I could stay on my iodine and borax remedy while on that treatment? Maybe it might even help my recovery...I'm an optimist.

Thank you much again...

BHT

★★★★☆

Hi Oscar.

The BHT 250mg that I have been using now for over two and a half years has made me feel a lot better and increased my energy, although it has failed to cure me of Hep-C. I have been monitoring your posts here and am encouraged to see you are helping a lot of people. My friend bigmac says hi as well.

Now I would like to update my condition. I am 67 years and have had to change my diet due to recently going from Borderline Diabetes to type 2 Diabetes, after taking R+NAC for 1 year. I was so bloated that I could no longer sit and tie my shoe laces and I was getting a lot of gut pain.

Turns out that I am Lactose intolerant and have to use Lactose free milk. As well I have had to stop eating all processed foods and all whites including breads and anything with Gluten in it. I was shocked to discover how much sugar they use. Now I eat a lot of Salads, chicken, pork, unsalted peanuts, Golden Delicious Apples with a dab of Sugar Free Peanut Butter on it, and eggs with Pears for breakfast. I have since found Sugar Free Ice Cream which I have with Strawberries on it. I have found a solution to my Constipation problem and now have daily bowel movements which are easy to pass and are much softer. It is RestoralLAX 1 cap full added to my morning coffee.

Over the past six weeks I have dropped my weight from 205lbs. to 193lbs. and reduced my pants size from 44 to 40 waist. The chest pains have disappeared and the pain around my Liver area right lower lobe has also decreased to near none.

I am still taking the BHT 350mg per day some times on an empty stomach and sometimes just before a meal because of it's other benefits though not loosing all hope with it for the Hep-C cure. I continue to use Chanca Piedra 500mg per day for it's ability to reduce Liver pain and for it's antiviral properties. My Neuropathy is under control with R=Alpha Lipoic Acid 200mg x2 per lunch and supper.

I did get a Shingles Vaccine shot last year which elevated my Liver count. I did that just to play it safe against getting Shingles and then found out it's a live virus they use in it. I hope I didn't screw things up. My last blood draw showed 51 ALT on my Liver function test and I will have another Ultra Sound on my Liver soon. As for my other aches and pains, they come and go just like before taking the BHT.

As for the Milk Thistle, I quit using it a couple of years ago after finding out that it can cancel other meds and herbs by trying to protect the Liver. I am glad I don't have to waste the precious little money I have on it.

I do find that if I feel a smidge sick over night that Ginger Root Extract cures that. I suppose I should take it ever day but don't.

Take care Oscar!!!!

Art.

Dear Art from Vancouver, It is great hearing from you. Please tell our friend Bigmac I have never forgotten him and never will. He was the strength that held the BHT cures groups together and without his support and dedication the BHT cures groups struggled along but eventually failed. This failure was probably not possible to prevent. Too many members whose reason for joining was always a concern. I am sure Bigmac understands the issues I am reffering to.

We did a lot of good and many people were cured and others did get much better if not truly cured. I am glad to learn you lost the weight you did. That diabetes is a very serious health concern and that is an understatement. We are about the same age and weight. I am having my own problems as a result of my well over 50 years of smoking cigarettes. The BHT helps but those cigarettes take a toll on your lungs and heart.

I am sad to learn that this shingles vaccine has caused new health problems. Timh reports the same with some vaccine he took. You really can not trust the medical establishment with many issues. Amazing to me that so many very bad mistakes are being made by people we should be able to trust.

I am always being encouraged by the VA to have the flu and just recently this shingles vaccine. Being me I NEVER get said vaccinations. I am well aware of the risks associated with said vaccinations. And for me: The BHT works so very well I never feel a need to have them.

Glad to hear from you. Please let my dear friend Bigmac know I have never forgotten him and never will. A man could not ask for a better friend than Bigmac....Oscar

To Kathy from Naugayauk, CT: Yes, BHT is that food preservative BHT. The online retailer " LifeLinks " is a reliable one and sells BHT in the convenient 250mg capsules for a good price here if my link works: http://www.lifelinknet.com/siteResources/Products/BHT.asp

New Drugs for Hep C
Posted by Dan (Manchester Uk) on 06/10/2014

I was diagnosed with hepititis c and cirrhosis about five years ago, I have been keeping it under control with green juices, diet and exercise. I have just been told by my doctor that I qualify for the latest drug on the market, Sofosbuvir, which is supposed to have amazing results with minimal side effects. What should I do? Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

New Drugs for Hep C
Posted by Oscar (Syracuse, New York) on 06/11/2014

Dear Dan From UK, It does seem that the drug companies have come up with some relatively safe and effective treatments for hepatitis C. If you are fortunate enough to have access to said treatments I see no reason not to use them. In the past I promoted using BHT. But you will NOT get the carefully monitored results if you go the BHT route. From what you stated you have been holding your own with the supplements you discussed. But that could and often does change, get worse. It seems to me well worth giving these new drugs a try. Your doctor will be carefully monitoring the results. What more can you expect or ask for....Oscar

Hello Bill, There's a new treatment for hepatitis c in the news these days. It's Sovaldi and Olysio. Two pills a day for 12 weeks. They say there's an over 90% cure rate for people with genotype 1A. Do you know anything about it and would you offer any feedback? Thank you.

I have hepatitis c. My Dr.told me today that there is a new drug out called SOLVALDI (sofosbuvir) and OLYSIO (simepraur?) It is a 12 weeks protocol where you take 2 pills a week. My Dr. also said there are no precentages about the cure rate..Does Oscar or anyone know of theis treatment?

I have tried to take BHT several times but can't take it. My Dr also said there is another drug coming in the fall. Of course I'm hesitant to take any drugs especially one with no cure rates...So if anyone has any feedback I'd be very, very greatful..Thank you.

I just recently went thru this treatment, and it worked for me. At the end of 12 wks there were no signs of the virus, and that was in July 2014. I will be retested for hep c in Jan.

You have to understand though every person and case is different. It will depend a lot on what stage you are in. All I can say is it worked for me, and trust your doctor.

Hope this gives you some comfort and God Bless

Flor,

I will let Oscar comment on whether your Mother could take BHT. However, I don't know if you are aware that you live in the same town as Dr. Burt Berkson, a first rate doctor known for his ability to treat serious liver conditions and frequently returning the patient to complete wellness. Here is a link to his site:

BHT
Posted by Oscar (Syracuse, New York) on 05/11/2014

Dear Prince from Verona, NJ: There is NOTHING to worry about. Eating some grapefruit while using BHT to treat a viral infection, though not helpful, will NOT seriously impact the BHT treatment. Just stop eating or drinking grapefruit juice.

The case history by or of Imran was that: Once he stopped drinking grapefruit juice he rapidly achieved NO VIRUS DETECTED with the viral load count test. Now even when NO VIRUS DETECTED is achieved he still needed to keep taking the BHT. We did get a follow up report from Imran and he was still reading NO VIRUS DETECTED after 4 months of achieving NO VIRUS DETECTED. I discussed with Imran the importance of continuing the BHT treatment. BHT can and will clear the blood of viable viral particles. But the liver will still be full of infected cells. Any one of which can and will release intact viral particles that can and will infect uninfected liver cells. But by keeping the blood free of intact viral particles you prevent that from occurring. Eventually a true cure is achieved. This takes at least a couple of years for most people of continued BHT treatment.

So please do not worry. Just continue the BHT treatment and eventually you should achieve a true cure. As I have stated so very many times: A true cure is when you achieve a NEGATIVE test result with the HCV or HBV antibodies tests....Oscar

Looking forward to your reply. Many Thanks, Prince Ausar

Hello again Prince Ausar from Verona, NJ: You are serious about making this BHT treatment work and I am serious about providing the best advice I can to ensure the treatment works as it did for me and many others.

You say you weigh 135 pounds. For people in that weight range 250mg of BHT per may be all you need. You can try the two dose per day method. If adverse effects are experienced at two 250mg doses per day go back to one 250mg per day. Also you can try staggering the dosage. By that I mean take one 250mg one day and two 250mg of BHT the next day. One dose in the morning and one dose at night every other day.

Please do report back with any blood test results you get. Also, the only other supplement I recommend is a standard multivitamin and mineral supplement no more than one per day. And that is optional. BHT is a reactive compound that can and will combine with MANY other supplements in unpredictable and undesirable ways. The mixing of the BHT treatment with other treatments or supplements usually degrades the treatment severely. BHT seems to work well with some pain medications and the AIDS drug " COMPLERA ".

The big problem is when BHT is used with certain compounds that combine with the metabolites of BHT. Large molecules that prevent the metabolites of BHT from penetrating the bi-layered lipid coatings of the different viruses. Vitamin B12 is such a compound and should be avoided in large doses. The amount of B12 in those standard multivitamins does NOT seem to degrade the BHT treatment. But again, taking a multivitamin is optional and is NOT part of the treatment....Oscar

Hello Oscar, Your right on when it comes to doing everything I can to correct my health. (No Fear). The only vitamins I take are whole food vitamins. I think to be on the safe side I'll stay with the 250 mg a day for a two month period and see what the results are. I'm to visit my doctor in June and have him repeat my blood test. I'l forward you the results.

We're all one spirit and that one spirit is how I roll.

Dear Diane from Sherborn, MA, I am sorry you do not tolerate BHT very well. There is some very good news regarding these new treatments due to be available right now and some in the very near future also. There is more than one such treatment.

A discussion of these new hepatitis C treatments can be found here:

http://health.usnews.com/health-news/news/articles/2014/01/15/most-with-hepatitis-c-may-soon-find-hope-in-new-treatments

And here:

http://consumer.healthday.com/infectious-disease-information-21/hepatitis-news-373/most-with-hepatitis-c-may-soon-find-hope-in-new-treatments-683908.html

Short extract from above link:

"This has made me change the way I'm talking with patients. These regimens are essentially going to cure everybody, " said Muir, who has conducted related research but did not participate in these studies. "I had a patient in my office this morning who said, 'If I get cured, ' and I said to him, 'When you get cured," Muir added.

"I think the great thing about these new direct-acting antivirals is that with the right combinations of drugs, all patients appear to be cured, " said Muir.

So that is the level of confidence Dr. Muir and others who actually treat hepatitis C patients have in these new treatments. There are many other websites that discuss all this also. These new drugs are both much more effective and much safer....Oscar

HI Bill, Do you know if MSM and serrepeptase are safe to take for hep-c and is it also safe for Peripheral neuropathy. I have made mistakes before and am now very cautious. Thank you much.

Supplements
Posted by Prioris (Fl, Usa) on 01/07/2014

Serrapeptase should be taken on empty stomach. Some people have problems taking the MSM due to the headaches and anxiety but most seem to do fine. Other than that, there should no problems. They do different things.

Supplements
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Philippines) on 01/07/2014

Hi Diane...Both MSM and Serrapeptase are safe protocols and should not give you problems if you have Hep C or peripheral neuropathy. Dr William Kelly, in his Metabolic Protocol for cancer, usually gave his patients an average of 150 pills a day -- the bulk of these being protease enzymes like Serrapeptase. MSM is also extremely safe -- normal dosage is between 5 grams and 20 grams a day depending on what your problem is.

Ted's Remedies
Posted by Crystal (Hawaii) on 12/30/2013

Question for Bill from Phillipines. In a 04/08/2010 post from Ted from Bangkok he mentions a protocal that I would like your opinion on. He says to take ibuprophen and lysine for hepatitis c. He says to take 200 mg Ibuprophen 5 straight hours a day along with 1000 mg lysine for a week. At the end of a week stop ibuprophen and continue with lysine for a month. At 1000mgs at 5 hourly doses per day.

I hear bad stories about ibuprophen yet I was given 800 mgs per day in 3 doses for six months..YES 800 mgs 3x per day for severe whiplash in a car accident..in 1994..I got hepatitis c in 1969. When I got my enzymes checked in 2003 they were normal until I was talked into a biopsy which sent my enzymes up to the mid 300's...What do you feel about Ted's protocol as I also hear lysine might not be the thing for hep-c..Sometimes science finds different results for different health protocals. Thank you for reading....

Ted's Remedies
Posted by Bill (San Fernado, Philippines) on 12/31/2013

Hi Crystal...Concerning Ted's Hep C cure using Lysine, threonine vitamin c and glutamine, as he states in this post he does use ibroprufen for 5 hrs a day for only a week. He uses the ibroprufen because it rapidly helps to kill the hep c virus. Aspirin also kills enveloped viruses. On that page he also states that he always tries to adjust a remedy to the sufferer, sometimes using aspirin or bloodroot instead. There may even be occasions when Ted would not use ibroprufen against Hep C. This really depends on what else is wrong with the person he is helping. We are not clones after all -- we are all different.

I also trust Ted because he is a qualified biochemist who has obtained his qualifications at American Universities and he has also worked both in the US food industry and in the US medical drugs industry in America. In fact I would far more trust Ted's judgement on drugs than any doctor's limited opinion because doctors do not know the biochemistry and dangers of drugs and chemicals. At their worst, doctors are really just salesman for the drugs companies whose treatments for chronic diseases in particular are mostly very expensive and only ever palliative (with no real cure in sight -- just disease accommodation). Also please remember that Ted gives his advice for free and, also unlike many doctors, his only focus is actually on curing people. That is his only motivation. Furthermore, Ted is not a particularly rich man (unlike most modern doctors and specialists).

I have never had occasion to use ibroprufen, but I regularly use aspirin, lugol's iodine, lysine, hydrogen peroxide and turpentine in my own protocols. If I said this to any regular modern doctor then he or she would probably scream poison despite the fact that I am extremely healthy for a 63 year old man.

Lysine is an amino acid -- in other words it not a drug but it is food. Lysine is found in many foods and is an essential amino acid for the body. Lysine in the body helps to raise the seratonin levels or the "feel good factor" of the body which also tends to stimulate greater production of macrophages and T-Helper white blood cells of the immune system. These entities are particularly useful for fighting viruses in the body -- which includes Hep C, Herpes etc.

Unfortunately, you wont find any double blind placebo testing or research on ibroprufen or Lysine killing viruses like Hep c (I know this because I've searched for it). But any competent and honest biochemist such as Ted will already know this as a fact because of their biochemical training and knowledge.

Bill, Thank you very much for the quick feedback. I certainly respect Ted's input and I think I speak for all the people he has helped when I say we wish he will resolve the current issues that plague him and get back to curing without drugs.. I also have peripheral neuropathy and would like to know if the Ibuprophen + lysine protocal would bother it. I have tried EVERYthing on all sites and it's only progressing and is now in my thighs from my feet and calves. Horrendous pain. I believe the hep-c caused it and am now fopcusing on cureing that and maybe the PN will go away...far away...Thank you again.

See this post: https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/viral-hepatitis-treatment-by-oscar.html#BHT

There are many other success stories posted for success with the use of BHT to treat hepatitis C genotypes 1a and 1b posted in this forum and others....Oscar

Hello Bill from the Phillipines, I'm going to start Ted's hep C protocol tomorrow with Ibuprophen and lysine. I'm somewhat confused. Ted mentions taking Ibuprophen 6X a day then at the end of his post he says 5X a day. Also is this just a one month protocol. Thank you VERY much.

Ted's Remedies

Hi Crystal...Just take the ibroprufen dosage at 5 times a day. Take this every day, as Ted advises, for one week only, then just continue on with the lysine dosages for the first month. Thereafter, just follow the lysine dosages that Ted recommends here -- this will depend if there is or is not great improvement after the first month.

Please also note that Ted also states (at the end of the post link above) that the whole protocol may be repeated if necessary.

Bill, I read your formula for HCV:

Alpha lipoic acid 300mg
Selenium 200mcg
Milk thistle 1000mg
Chanca piedra (optional) 1000mg

Take them twice a day, at lunch and at dinner time. The remedy will kill hcv, as well as repair the damaged liver quickly.

Below you wrote:

Instead of oregano oil, use clove oil (3-5 ) drops in water, because it helps regenerate glutathione in the liver.

My question: Is the clove oil a part of the formulation above and should it also be taken twice a day?

Thank you and god bless. Merry christmas!

Hello Oscar,

I starting taking BHT for my HepC last week. I take 1 cap per day first thing in the morning on empty stomach. After a few days I started to itch all over. My palms and the bottoms of my feet mostly. Is this a side effect of the BHT? Have you heard of this happening to anyone else? I'm afraid to take another pill at night because of this. It's been over a week now and I'm still on one pill in the morning. I'm still itching but not too bad. I can tolerate it. Dear Debibrown from Irvine California, The answer is yes. This itchiness you discussed has been reported by some others using the BHT treatment. In fact one of the moderators over at the BHT CURES CHAT GROUP had this very same problem. Now all I can say is that this problem usually clears up within a few weeks at the most. If you wish to discuss this with Rachael who is one of our success stories for BHT as atreatment for hepatitis C please do so at this group here:

But please do continue to post about your experience with this BHT treatment here at the EARTH CLINIC.

I have hepatitis c. My doctor wants to put me on valium for another issue. Does anyone know if this will raise my liver enzymes? I know it's a drug but according to my Dr he says I'll be alright. Of course I'm cautious. Thanks for reading.

If your Rx for Valium is for nerves, anxiety, panic attacks, tremors, there is a better, healthier choice that would help. Magnesium Glycinate is a supplement needed by our body and lack of it could probably be causing what you are needing Valium for. It promotes, rest, sound sleep, relaxed nerves, muscles, helps in tension headaches, migraines, rapid heart beats. And it's good for you.

Hi Dianne--Whenever you get any Rx you need to ask for the package insert. Not the computer print-out the pharmacy gives you because drugs and their ingredients are constantly changing. There aren't enough long-term studies to prove their safety. There have been broadcasts about this by investigative news programs to report some bogus studies. I don't think I can provide names of books or programs here.

There is a book on food additives that was available in book stores that tells you how different ingredients are made and what has been reported about them. It is not 100% but it has helped me identify "reactions" that I would not have recognized as "reactions" because I accepted them as age-related.

Is there any chance you could try St. John's Wort? I take a magnesium powder that helps me along with turmeric and ginger in a variety of food.

I think the most important thing is to stay away from hidden sources of MSG. Different sources can accumulate and cause all kinds of aches and pains. Hidden MSG caused me debilitating depression to fits of rage. It is acceptable on EC to share links so I'll give you one that has helped me: www.truthinlabeling.org

B vitamins, iron and magnesium are so important for moods/depression. I don't know how I forgot to mention Blackstrap Molasses because I depend on it. It is a very rich source of nutrients.

@Dianne: As you will find here in alternative medicine land, there are several natural non-prescription and effective nervine remedies; also there are effective hep-c remedies. Note, MD's specialize in treating the symptoms of disease and not the disease itself; that's why so many people get these terrible sounding diagnosis and go home in great despair as they have been told "there is no cure" and "you will need medication for the remainder of your life. "

If you do only what your doctor prescribes, you can guess the outcome as a lifelong illness and treatment, OR you can go all out alternative and will most likely improve substantially; in which case you will loose favor w/ your Dr by refusing his/her recommendations/prescriptions.

My advise is try and give yourself the benefit of both worlds (conventional & alternative) of medicine. From what little personal and observational experience I have of physicians, they almost always OVER-prescribe medications AND are not reluctant to prescribe too many medications. All physicians are in a tug-of-war between profit margins and patient responsibility; this scenario creates the public need for more "wellness" oriented physicians. Anyway, do your homework on the meds and if the benefits outweigh the negative side effects go ahead and accept the prescription (given you have insurance and co-pay etc. ) AND consider taking only half the amount suggested as you may also be incorporating natural remedies. This is called integrative medicine, the best of both worlds.

Here is a link to Valium information: http://www.drugs.com/valium.html.

There are, in addition to the Magnesium recommendation, a few herbs good for nerves which can be purchased at your local or online health food store. Valerian, Hops, Passion Flower, Chinese Skullcap. Also, check out the BHT cure for Hepatitis in the "remedies" section at the top of the page. Also more info on Hep in the "ailments" section.
