Should recive bht 350mg in next day or two start out with one 350mg a day, work up to two a day. Very wore down, sleep a lot. What do you think? Any input would be helpful, thanks.

This is my first post as I found this website about one month ago. I have read through all the posts on BHT and have decided to give it a try.

I will give a little history as I plan on commenting on my treatment with BHT as necessary

I was diagnosed with Hep C back in 1999, type 1A, I think I contracted the virus from blood transfusions in 1984 as a result of an auto accident.

I have never had any treatment as of yet. My first test back in 1999 resulted in a viral load of about 2 million and as of this past April 2012 is now over 21 million. My liver function tests are slightly elevated but nothing to be overly concerned about. My latest ultrasound (also April 2012) was normal.

However, I am usually exhausted by mid afternoon.

I took my first 350mg dose this morning on an empty stomach as suggested and have taken 9,000mg of Vit C over the past 2 months, which I have not decided if I will continue to take while on the BHT. Since taking the Vit C I have noticed an improvment in my energy levels.

I will post further updates as my condition changes, dosages change etc....

thanks for all the good information on this site.

Hello Oscar, I've had Hep C for at least 15 years and did the pegasis and Rib treatment in 2000 to no good result. I have cirrosis now and got to do something. I really appreciate you'all taking your time to report your results and findings. I ordered the BHT at 350mg. per capsule and plan to get going on it asap (I have to do something). I will faithfully tell all about my results especially since you were good enough to share and enlighten. I've been researching obviously and read the pros and cons however this finding is a bit scary.

Please read the following: A Kuwait study found no evidence of carcinogenity but also that BHT isn't much fun for the liver: "BHT resulted in a significant increase in liver weight. The liver cells presented gradual vacuolization, cytoplasmic disintegration, "moth-eaten" appearance, ballooning degeneration, hepatocellular necrosis. " A Swedish study also found that BHT damages the liver. Oscar what is your opinion of this? Thanks, Dave

Hello to all, I started doing 2x250 mg caplets of BHT Feb 1, 2012 and have absolutely no side effects and all my Hep C symptoms have completely disappeared!! I'm so happy and feeling fabulous and I'm going for my 1st blood work very shortly. I discovered Oscar's posts on the internet and I feel blessed to have been able to find this great site and Oscar in what seems like "just in time". I was diagnosed with Genotype 1A back in 99 and failed conventional therapy in 4 short months, so I had to do something about this and started searching for a miracle and I finally found it in BHT. I'm so sure that my vl will be very low because every symtom that plagued me for years, tiredness, aching joints, brain fog and others are completely gone!! This is a solid indicator that this dreaded condition is improving very much.

When I get my blood work back I'll post the results ..... So it's been almost 3 1/2 months since I started this treatment and I've been taking pure liquid Sylimarin (Milk Thistle) for inflammation, Sodium Bicarbinate, Apple Cider, Vinegar for my bodies ph rise, and drinking 10-12 oz of Grapefruit juice for the Nangarin which I've learned also helps to penetrate the Lipid Envelope of Hep C. Will report back withing 4-6 weeks with results and thanks to all BHT warriors who are kind enough to share their success stories with us all.

Dear A. From Boston, As I have suggested many times now: If and/or when adverse effects are experienced with these BHT treatments LOWER the dosage of BHT. I have also suggested taking BHT in dosages of no more than 350mg at any one time. That these dosages should be taken seperately. I also have found good reasons why BHT should be taken with a fruit juice as opposed to water. Grape juice is a good one as is cranberry juice. This is because glucose is a an important ingrediant involved in the metabolism of BHT as discussed in the different toxicology reports.

So lower your dosage, at least for now. Always split the dose if taking more than 350mg per day. And take the BHT with some fruit juice such as grape juice or cranberry juice. Try doing that and let this forum know if that resolves any problems you are having with the BHT treatments. Some better answers are hopefully becoming apparent for those trying the BHT treatment.

Hep C here. I found out in Dec. my alt/ast were 171/120. My iron was 382. Test from yesterday came back normal.

I did Ted's 4 day aspirin and lysine while waiting on the bht. Also milk thistle.

I just read there is sometimes fluctuation to normal. What do think about that? I am still tired but I feel a great psychological lift. This is good news isn't it?

Hello Javena from Pakistan. Weight, fat content of a person`s body, and age are all factors to consider when trying to come up with the right dose of BHT. Generally: The more a person weighs and the higher fat content of that weight the more BHT a person requires. And the people 50 or more years old tend to have more of a problem tolerating BHT.

Many people who weigh around 175 pounds do very well on one dose of 250mg of BHT taken twice a day. In the morning and at night. BHT should be taken on an empty stomach with a gulp of water.

People who weigh 125 pounds or less often do best with one dose only of 250mg of BHT per day. People who weigh 200 pounds or more often do well with one 350mg of BHT taken twice a day. These are rough guidelines only. Each person has to find a dose they are comfortable with.

Also we recently had a man who weighs 180 pounds and has the HCV type 1a infection. He used only one 250mg capsule of BHT per day and reduced his viral load from 10 million to 1 million in 3 short weeks

I recommend anyone first starting the BHT treatment use no more than one 250mg capsule of BHT per day for the first week. If adverse effects are experienced lower the amount of BHT used....Oscar

Quick follow up to Javena from Pakistan: The BHT treatment does NOT work well with other treatments. Moderate use of the B vitamins and vitamin C are OK to use. Also, that nose bleeding is likely caused by low blood platelets. Avoid using large amounts of herbs and spices. Turmeric should be avoided by people with low blood platelets. The BHT treatment really does work best if you keep it simple. Also, boil any water you drink to sterilize it....Oscar

I dosed myself with 200mg to 300mg per day with water on an empty stomach, in the morning before breakfast. I went from a definite positive using the hep-C RNA test to a definite negative using this same test in about 1 month and have never had any problem with hepatitis-C ever again. I continued to take it and still do as a prophylactic for a host of viral diseases I don`t want to get. What BHT can treat it can prevent. I never had any problem with any side effects. I cannot say enough about this remarkable compound. It works and fast. BHT is an acronym for butylated hydroxytoluene.

If you want to research it the information is out there on the web. The people discovered BHT`s ability to treat viruses with lipid containing coatings: Person, Snipes, Keith, and Cupp. Their original article appeared in the Journal: SCIENCE volume 188 in 1975. There's my answer to treating hepatitis-C. It is worth mentioning that the AID`s virus has a similar structure, lipid containing envelope.... Oscar

Dear Oscar from Syracuse, New York,

Thanks for your posting on BHT. I have been treating hcv since 2002. I started with interferon injection which gave me a serious side effect. Since then, I have tried a lot of other products without any luck. The test I had in March 2011 showed that the viral count had increased to 278,000 IU. The hcv has developed resistance to a lot of treatments.

When I read your posting two days ago, I jumped at it and, I wish to try it. But my concern is the fear that the hcv might be resistance to BHT too. My questions: Did you swallow the capsule or did you open the capsule and pour the powder into the water and drank it? Did you drink anything with it? Some websites suggest that it could be taken with lysine and vit. C. What do you advise? I want to take it exactly as you took yours, may be I could also have the same result you had. Is there any food I should avoid? After taking the BHT, how many hours lapsed before taking your breakfast? Could you please reply me quickly? I AM BROKEN HEARTED BECAUSE OF HCV. Thanks.

BROKEN HEARTED.

I have read your positive views but also negative views on another website... (copied below)... to be honest I'm confused.

Directions:

Precautions:
Because of conflicting results, no one really knows what the cancer risk - if any - is from BHT. The possibility should not be ignored; anyone who uses BHT or any synthetic chemical should consider there may be consequences yet unknown from the use of non-naturally occuring chemicals.

  • Most BHT users recommend that no one should take more than 2gm per day, some saying 1gm is the limit. It should probably also not be taken on an empty stomach.

  • Avoid use in hepatitis or other liver problems.

  • BHT is fat-soluble, so thin people may need less. Furthermore, persons on low-fat diets may be more susceptible to side-effects.

  • BHT can interfere with blood clotting, so it might be a special risk for persons with hemophilia or other clotting problems.

  • Doses of BHT should start small and gradually increase. It is probably not harmful to stop abruptly, however, because BHT stays in the body for several weeks.

  • A few people are chemically sensitive to BHT.

  • Alcohol should be avoided for at least several hours after taking BHT. Alcohol may have a stronger effect than usual, so be especially careful about driving.

  • BHT can interact with other drugs. It can either increase or decrease their effects

  • Can anyone provide help?

    BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

    Hi,

Thanks to some of the testimonials here. As a result I have tried ACV and sodium bicarbonate for GERD and it is working very well. I have been mixing them together and it makes quite a pleasant drink - they cancel out each other's bitterness and saltiness.

I have also been trying BHT which I find to be very powerful. The first day, I took three 200 g capsules throughout a 12 hour period, monitoring myself and did not feel any side effects.

However that night I woke up at 1 am totally wired as if I had drunk twenty cups of coffee! It was a very unpleasant experience and I could feel BHT in my brain, adrenals and especially in my liver, attacking the virus. (Not unlike the sensation of having a needle drilled through the liver. )

So I decided to wait several days before taking it again, until I was sleeping soundly again.

I took one again two days ago and again woke up feeling 'wired'. This stuff must stay in your system a while because I did not take any yesterday and noticed last night the same symptoms - acute 'drilling' sensation in the frontal lobe of the liver, sleeplessness and restlessness, brain and adrenal stimulation.

So obviously I do have some concerns about BHT, perhaps I am a little more sensitive to it than the average, yet it certainly appears to be attacking the hep c virus. I have not done a blood test yet, maybe in a couple of months.

I have also been using Orizon's high PH (13) water, and after doing a course of a couple of months earlier this year, got my liver enzyme levels down to almost normal. I have heard that some people have actually killed the Hep C virus with it, but no concrete testimonial.

Thanks to everyone for your sharings.

Dear CM from Wilmington, This is Oscar. We have had some instructive feedback in this forum and I have some from other forums also. For a person your weight, about 200 pounds, I think you should be taking at least one 350mg capsule of BHT twice a day on an empty stomach with a gulp of water to wash the capsule down. Do NOT mix the BHT with any oil at the time it is taken. Wait at least one hour for the BHT to be digested and metabolized before eating any food for best results.

Also, some people have discussed side effects including stomach discomfort and dizzyness. Most people have NO side effects. But, some do. An easy sensitivity test can be done. Open up a capsule and pour the contents on to a small dish. Lick your finger and daub it on the crystals and lick that finger. Wait an hour and see if you have any side effect. If you DO, don`t get discouraged. Some simple ramping up will resolve this issue. Simply lick 2 daubs the next day. You will get used to it in almost all cases. For most people this is not an issue. A very many people take BHT on a daily basis for conditions including any of the herpes viruses for example.

The brand I have been using for over 10 years now is that sold by: Vitamin Research Products, a trusted name in supplements and THEY have been making and selling BHT for a long time now. Once you reach that: NO VIRAL LOAD DETECTED result you still need to keep taking the BHT for at least 2 years. I still take it because it is a proven average lifespan extender and keeps you appearing younger. The reason you need to keep taking the BHT is because even when no virus is detected in your blood your liver will still be full of infected cells. Because the liver completely renews itself in about one year, if you keep your blood free of the viral particles, eventually a true cure does occur.

I never took interferon or anything other than BHT to treat my Hepatitis-C infection and I had HCV with a failing liver. Give the BHT a chance by itself. And do this for me: Report any and all liver function test results along with any viral load count tests. This BHT [ butylated hydroxytoluene ] stuff really does work. Read what fatcha brute has to say about that here: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?p=6967512

Dear Cm from Wilmington, This is Oscar and I will answer your questions as best I can. Please do note that because of the feedback from Dr. W and Victoria I do now believe one 350mg capsule taken TWICE a day is best for most adults. Most people tolerarate that dosage well. Some do not. If you are one of those that experience significant side effects do NOT get discouraged. Usually some simple ramping up of the dosage resolves this issue. Also, even at smaller dosages the BHT will work. It will take a bit longer is all. I had a very infected liver, to the point of substantial liver failure. I got well using only 200mg of BHT per day.

Now both Dr. W and fatcha brute were using larger dosages. Fatcha brute was using two 350mg capsules per day. Dr. W was using larger dosages initially. And Victoria was using the smaller dosage [ 200mg to 250mg per day ].

Victoria achieved impressive results in about 2 months at that dosage. Her viral load went down by two thirds of what it had been and her liver function tests returned to normal or healthy readings in about 2 months. That is an impressive improvement. So, if you can tolerate the 350mg dose taken TWICE a day, GREAT. If not, do not get discouraged. The smaller dosages work, they just take longer.

Compared to the prescibed medicines the BHT works much quicker and is much safer. In fact there is substantial evidence that BHT taken in the dosages we are discussing is in fact good for you. That PHYSIOLOGICAL REVIEWS article shows an average lifespan increase of between 22% and 31% for mice dosed with BHT for their entire lifetimes. I know of NO other compound that can claim that. NONE, period. So, I want you to stop being afraid, you are going to get through this and be truly cured of hepatitis C using the BHT. I was very sick and so was January. We both felt well within a few weeks. Our livers were functioning well again though still infected with HCV. To achieve a true cure does take at least 2 years of daily dosing with the BHT. The BHT can keep the blood free of HCV viral particles. It can NOT uninfect a living liver cell. NOTHING out there can do that. BUT, every cell that makes up a person`s liver is a new cell in about one year. So, by keeping the blood free of intact viral particles, eventually a true cure is achieved. That is why you and so many others using the interferon and ribaviron treatments relapse. This is not going to happen with the BHT if you continue taking it even after you get those: NO VIRUS DETECTED RESULTS.

This BHT has proven itself to be very effective in treating lipid enveloped viruses. Hepatitis C is very much a lipid enveloped virus. I had both hepatitis C and B. I now test negative for both those viruses using any test given including the antibodies and antigens tests. It truly is as if I had NEVER been infected. And I most definately was so infected. I had been tested and retested in 1997 and was positive. I had myself retested about a year later using the antibodies and antigens tests and still tested POSITIVE. I was retested in 2006 and now test NEGATIVE using the antibodies and antigens tests.

I am not asking you to have faith in me. I am telling you this BHT really does work because of the results of all those tests and the fact that it has worked and IS working for those others I have mentioned and linked to their statements. I do not know how long it will take for you to feel better. From the feedback I have gotten that should happen within 2 months. As far as getting tested goes: myself and others showed testable improvement in 1 month. For Dr. W it took 2 months. The same is true for Victoria. If you can get tested in one month, why not do so ? And again in another month if there is any doubt the BHT is working after the first test.

Now I want you to report whatever those test results are along with the dosage of BHT used and the genotype of HCV being treated. Do that for me. Let me also know of any side effects and I will do my best to help you. Again, most people have no side effects with the dosages I have discussed. I wish you well and to be well, ...Oscar

Good hearing from you CM from Wilmington, This BHT really does work, not just sort of, as a treatment for hepatitis C. It may take longer for some than others, but it works. From the feedback I have been getting: for some it is a matter of a few weeks, and for some a few months. But people are reporting an eventual NO VIRUS DETECTED test result.

I need to keep repeating myself about this: That NO VIRUS DETECTED result does NOT mean you are cured of hepatitis C. It means there was no virus detected in your blood at the time the blood was drawn and tested. Without any doubt, your liver will still be full of infected cells that will burst and infect other liver cells if you stop taking the BHT. Simply keep taking the BHT. Because the liver completely renews itself about every year, if you keep your blood free of HCV virus particles, eventually a true cure is achieved with the use of BHT. I have achieved a true CURE for myself using BHT. I don`t know how many years that took. I would think at least two years of daily dosing with BHT. But, so what? As that PHYSIOLOGICAL REVIEWS article illustrates, there is very substantial evidence that BHT is good for you. An average lifespan increase of between 22% and 31% for mice dosed with BHT over their entire lifetimes compared to mice that were not dosed with the BHT is quite something. I know of NO other compound that can make such a claim, NONE.

Dear Cm from Charleston, That is a very good question: How long should I wait to be tested after starting the use of BHT as a treatment for hepatitis C? Ideally you should be tested as soon as possible to establish a base line or starting point before you start the treatment. I do understand that this is not always easy to get done. It costs money for these tests and somebody has to pay for it.

The reason for establishing this baseline is to allow for accurate tracking of your progress as in: liver function test results and viral load count test results. Without a baseline there is no way of answering those questions.

Now, I very much understand that for many people the cost of these tests is an important consideration.

For the sake of this discussion I will assume you wish to spend as little money as possible on testing. With that in mind those liver function tests are not that expensive and should be done as soon as possible. If you can afford it those viral load count tests should also be done as soon as possible. You want to know if this treatment is working or not.

From the feedback available: Many people have shown dramatic improvement in a few weeks, for others a few months. I will assume you want to see NORMAL LIVER FUNCTION and NO VIRUS detected results the first time tested. If that is your goal I would suggest being tested after 2 months of treatment with the BHT taken as I have discussed [ one 350mg capsule of BHT taken TWICE a day with a gulp of water on an empty stomach ]. This is assuming you experience no adverse side effects at that dosage. Every person is different and I can not say what is best for every person.

As a general rule: The sicker you are with hepatitis C the more carefully you have to monitor by testing what is happening with your liver. And each individual`s financial situation is an important factor. For all those reasons each person has to decide for themselves about such testing. If you can afford it, the more carefully, often this testing is done the better. I was tested once a week, but this was paid for by the VA because it was a service connected condition. My results were dramatic and I was testing: NO VIRUS DETECTED and liver fuction NORMAL in about one month using the BHT and nothing else....Oscar

I, Oscar, feel a need to make people aware of the crap I have been dealing with for many years now regarding the use of BHT to treat hepatitis C. I have been banned from at least 4 forums for discussing this topic. There are many billions of dollars at stake here if I am right about just how effective BHT is. Not for me, I have never and will never accept any money for my efforts.

I am not being paranoid. Please do carefully follow this discussion I had about this topic in another forum with this link: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Hepatitis-C/My-mother-has-Hep-c-and-latent-TB/show/1559469

You will find that along with all the ridicule heaped upon me this statement by shakar: " My dad started BHT. Within 2 weeks, the viral load is down 50%. I will keep everyone posted about next pcr test. " That thread or conversation was closed by the moderator. Please read the entire thread to get some notion of what I have been up against.

shakar`s statement agrees with the results being achieved by those members of this forum who are giving the BHT treatment a try as a treatment for hepatitis C.

So what you may ask. This is what: This BHT really does work as a treatment for hepatitis C. The drug companies and the " SICK CARE " industry will lose many billions of dollars if this extremely inexpensive treatment becomes common knowledge. So, this is the sort of crap I am fighting and I do need forum members trying this treatment to report in with your test results.

Do read that thread and you will begin to understand why so very few people even know about this treatment after more than 14 years of effort by me. And fatcha brute`s statement sums up the reason`s why here: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?p=6967512Ã

With those forum members who are giving the BHT treatment a try for hepatitis C`s feedback we can win this battle here in this forum. Most Sincerely, ...Oscar

Oscar, I do find it strange how some people are so bullheaded and become buttheads in this area. I met with the same reaction when discussing Gerson therapy which has helped people I knew. I had nurses yelling at me saying it's all bs and just to rip people off. How is it a sham when Gerson is simply saying we need to get back to real food grown without chemicals (one of his points)? It is true I had various ills and physcian told me diet doesn't matter and made me some prescriptions that either didn't help or I didn't like the side effects. When I kicked the junk food diet, many of these issues resolved (like tinnitus, non-productive coughing fits, acid reflux, etc). They aren't trained too much in nutrition and so many people are just brainwashed and stubborn about it. Gerson M. D. Presented proof but he wrote about how it was rejected. We live in a business medical model where studies can be bought. When there's so much money and control in big pharma, you're not going to find the studies supporting things that would get in the way of their interests. Here is a video of a man who worked for Eli Lily showing why he left. Yes he is trying to do his own thing with a book he is promoting on nutrition but I think it's interesting when he gives an idea what big pharma wanted for him. SHOCKING in a way!

Antidepressants | Psychiatry | SSRI | Psychiatric Drugs

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwpHWix22UU&feature=channel_video_title

The best thing we can do - is for those with hepatitis that find there way here - to give the BHT a try and report back if/when the viral load goes down, stays down and after a year or two if/when the hepatitis is no longer detected. People keep medical records. People have been kind of programmed to fear and not trust alternative things; but for the explorers here who will try and post feedback... Then others will try if they start seeing others succeed in healing too.

It is difficult because many people also want instant gratification and it's hard to stay disciplined for one or two years on any regimen. If it helped you Oscar and I've read a few other stories here, then keep on sharing and helping people. If I had hepatitis and there was no cure, I am the type that would try it; because I don't trust mainstream as being always the best answer. I just see a lot of wrong things and corruption. But I can understand the pessimism and distrust of others because we also live in a world where people sell snake oil. People see beautiful ads and buy the latest diet pill or this or that and find it didn't work and they are out money. It's too bad because then people become cynical and as protection won't accept new info out of the box even if it might be true.

My energy went off the charts at first and has now become more normal. No more fatigue!! My Naturopathic Dr. prescribed 8 treatments, twice a week. I have one more treatment left and then he suggested an 'as and when needed'. Worked well for me.

make sure if you do remove them to have them taken out in the correct order (metal fillings all have different charges, and will have the most benefit if they are removed properly. I have Chronic Hepatitis B. I bought the herb in tea form called Chanca Piedra. It reduced my viral load down to 10,000,000 to 325,00 in 2 months. Had I not had such a ridiculously high viral load, I would have been cleared of this by now. I'm hoping the tests I took today will indicate I am at least down to the 10,000's.

I drank 18oz 3 times a day. The tea was made extremely dark. This site askes that you not mention brand names or websites but I got the tea for $25 from a San Diego Based company called ___. I hope it helps others. I dont know if it can help for Hep C. One bag lasts for 2 weeks. You 're looking at $50 an month. I have to stress that the tea must be made extra dark. I have a glass tea pot I put in the Microwave and then I put in the tea, let it sit over 2 tea candles for 2 to 3 hours. I think I am going to start making some to put in the fridge and just keep making several gallons full. I want to get rid of this!!!!!!

FYI It has been studied for its toxic effects against the HIV virus too!

I have Hepatitis C and I think that I got it in 1981 from a blood transfusion when my daughter was born. I only discovered that I was infected in 2002 when my hands and knee were swollen and I was in so much pain. The doctor told me that I had RA and put me on all of the conventional treatments. During this process, he tested for Hep C and told me that I had this disease. I did not want to take the conventional treatment, so I found out about Colloidal Silver and have used it nearly every day. The RA reduced from 115 to 3 which is within the normal range. I had done alot of research and changed my life style, including diet, eliminating as much toxins from shampoos, toothpaste, deoderant, etc. I do oil pulling, body brushing and take a bath with either hydrogen peroxide, espom salts and baking soda. I did find an holistic doctor and he gave my IV's of vitamins, hydrogen peroxide, and one other that I don't recall at this time. My viral load is lower that it has been prior to these treatments (909,000) and my blood work has normal ranges for the liver panel and other areas. I believe the silver has keep my viral load down (highest was 2 million). I feel great and have no side effects of the Hep C. I was told my an infectious disease doctor that I probably did not have RA, but it was an effect of the Hep C. I have a very positive attitude and I think that I will one day be virus free. I believe that God has played a huge part in my health. I wanted to mention that a doctor told me that I was in the early stages of cirrhosis and had about 5 years to live. I was so confused and angry, but I knew that I was not going to give up. This is a great site and I check every day for new postings. If you have this disease, don't give up, but take care of yourself.

I am trying to help a friend of mine who has hepatitis C. We obtain these results after a therapy with Extreme Liver Support (2 capsules, 3 times a day), and 7 drops 3% food grade H2O2, in a glass of water, 4 times a day. There were 2 therapy sections, one for 35 days, and the other for 49 days. with a month for resting, in between:

    At the therapy's beginning:

    Virus count: 2,897,116 UI/ml

    SGOT: 59.50

    SGPT: 45.00

    At the therapy's end:

    Virus count: 5,960, 000 IU/ml

    SGOT: 102.30

    SGPT: 90.90

My friend Was using others supplements beside Extreme Liver Support and H2O2, so these results can not be, exclusively, tyed to the used of Extreme Liver Support and H2O2. Also, the first viral count was done in a different laboratory than the second one. I have some important questions in my mind, and doubs. Mean while I have desided to try a different approach to try the hepatitis, yet using natural, although not at all, natural medicine.

Any way, apparently bad, or good, jesus loves me and my friend. In Him there are ours strengths.

I'd like to try this, I'm already using 35% along with apple cider vinegar, and a few other things. I've been doing them for about a month now and instead of getting a little worse each day, I actually feel a little better. I'm going to beat this stuff whatever it takes. Hi Shan Ansari... The remedies you mention for hepatitis c are very effective for sure. You might also want to research BHT(Butylated Hydroxytoluene) which is described here:

    https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/BHT.htmlhttps://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/BHT.html

BHT is a strong super-anti-oxidant, which -- just on its own -- is very anti-viral and will quickly reduce your viral load considerably as well as reduce AST and ALT levels in your blood. BHT kills both the Hep B and Hep C viruses in the same way as Lysine and Aspirin -- by hydrolysing and dissolving the outer viral envelope. This might be a useful addition to your protocol -- you can buy it over the internet.

You might also want to research Dr Berkson's simple liver therapy against Hep C. He uses mainly Alpha Lipoic Acid using IV and oral (300 mgs twice a day), with oral selenium(200 micrograms twice a day) and large dose Milk Thistle(900 mgs twice a day) against Hep C and he claims this protocol will prevent the necessity for a liver transplant by curing and getting rid of Hep C completely:

Hello John, this is Oscar. I will address your concerns to the best of my ability. You state you have allergies and a propensity for hives. For those reasons I highly recommend doing the sensitivity test: Open a capsule of BHT and pour the contents onto a small dish. Lick your finger and daub it onto the BHT crystals and lick those crystals off your finger. Wait for one hour to see if you have an adverse effect such as hives. If you do not, continue to lick up those crystals gradually to continue this sensitivity test until the entire capsule is consumed. Hopefully you will have no adverse effect. The vast majority of people do not in this small dosage. But if you do, do not get dicouraged. From everything I have read about this treatment even BHT sensitive people can overcome this difficulty by gradually ramping up the dosage over a few days. One lick the first day, two licks the second day, etc..

Regarding the toxicity of BHT to the liver: A Canadian health organization that looked at over 200 animal toxicology studies as to BHT gave BHT a NOEL [ No-Observed-Effect-Level ] of 25mg per kg of body weight per day. Here is a link to that report. You will need to scroll down to section 4. EVALUATION to read that NOEL and what it is based on here: http://www.inchem.org/documents/jecfa/jecmono/v35je02.htm

Now that works out to 1,250mg per day for a 110 pound person. Some people who discuss BHT as a treatment for viral diseases consider up to 1,000mg of BHT safe for most adults who do NOT have liver disease. You DO have liver disease. The good news is that: I was experiencing LIVER FAILURE when I began my BHT treatment for hepatitis C. I weigh 180 pounds now and did back in 1997 when I successfully treated my HCV infection using only 200mg of BHT per day. Also, this treatment worked very quickly for me. I was testing negative for hepatitis C with the hepatitis C RNA test within 4 weeks and my liver function tests were in the normal ranges in that 4 weeks. They did NOT have viral load count tests back in 1997 so I cannot provide such test results for that reason. I continue to take BHT daily and was told by the Veterans Administration in 2006 that there is NO indication I ever had hepatitis C or B at that time. I had been tested and retested for both infections in 1997 and was positive for both in 1997. I now test negative for both using the anti-bodies and antigens tests. A true CURE was achieved using only the BHT for me taken as I described: on an empty stomach using water to gulp the capsule down with, like you would any other pill....Oscar

If you decide to give BHT therapy a try I ask you to please post whatever your results are here in this forum. You, or anyone else trying this treatment can always stop taking it, if it has a negative impact on your health. I want to see people get well like I did, and very much wish to hear from people giving this BHT treatment a try....Oscar

When I was young about 17 or 18 I was partying hard and had a lot of fun, a little too much if you ask me.

Anyway fast forward to today. I ended up getting hep c virus from doing drugs. I had the virus for about 22 years. I am clean and sober now days but If I had half a brain when was younger well you know. As soon as I found out that I had hep c I gave up drinking, alcohol speeds up the replication of the virus.

I started taking bht 250 mg. Anyway I take it twice a day morning and at night 250 mg for a total of 500 mg.

Started bht in 2017. I started to feel better inside and out. I was able to get up off my couch and do things and was not sleeping my life away. My doctor wanted to check my hcv blood levels.

I just got the results back. quantitative test is 343,000 qualitative was Undetected Doctors usually consider a viral load over 800,000 IU/ml as high. A low viral load would be less than 800,000 IU/ml. If a quantitative test indicates undetectable viral particle levels, but the qualitative test detects HCV, it means that a person has extremely low levels of HCV in the bloodstream.

The numbers are looking very good and I will keep up with my bht treatment. I am not taking anything else but D3 and Calcium and zinc.

I take zinc to boost my immune system. Also I read online that drinking coffee will help your liver function better and it stops the hep c virus from replicating. Also when I feel a cold coming on I take some vitamin c. Almost forgot the most important thing to take, drink lot's of water.

I just wanted to say hang in there everyone.

I've been taking BHT treatment for 6 weeks. 250mg and 500mg 12 hours apart. Keep in mind I have already done 12 weeks Harvoni with no evidence of cure. Then I was prescribed 12 weeks Viekera with the same results. During these treatments I was not told to not take large doses of vitamin E . I was taking 400 plus I.U. per day. Given that this link suggests that vitamin e protects the lipid coated hep c viron from immune system attack, it may well explain why my Harvoni and viekera treatments were unsuccessful.

So I've been taking BHT without the large supplement regimen. My last liver panel showed 50% increase in ALT and AST levels. Since my ferritin level was 900. After a 1000 one's chance of getting cancer goes up 20 to 200 fold. I was taking 500mg IP-6 3x/day. Could be toxic to a compromised liver (hep c 1a ) viral load 7500000. contracted 1971. I'm going to try MONOLAUREN. I was bruising very easily after taking less than 200mg c. I now take 5 to 10 grams california gold 1000mg caps Qualli-c. WOW, good stuff. No runnies.

Going to take lysine, chanca piedra, lapoic acid, nac, d3, k2, colodial silver, coral calcium for increasing ph, magnesium malate, selenium and a high quality multiple.

I'm 63, walk an hour every day and work out at the gym twice a week. I take citrulline to prevent the stink of ammonia away. A doctor would prescribe lactalose but that stuff will give you the runnies. I consume an average of 90 grams protein so I have to take the citrulline because of a cirrhotic liver.

I want to start off by saying hello. I need everyone to know how much I appreciate all the information that everyone has provided. I am new to this forum and I came here to learn, I stayed up all night reading and reaearching and early this morning I ordered the BHT that is recommended. It will be in Thursday.

I was diagnosed this past September. I am a young female, in my early 30s, at 160 pounds. What prompted my dr visit was severe nausea, some vommiting and sometimes severe lower abdominal cramping. I had scheduled a "female" visit, to get the full workup, expecting fibroids or something to that effect. I was diagnosed with Hep C and went on to have lots of blood work done, I will double check but I believe my genotype is 1A and I will get back with you guys on my levels. I've had them ran twice. I did not have insurance and was being seen at a free clinic. Things work really slow at free clinics. It was recomended that I have an abdominal ultrasound, and now here in late October I am still awaiting their referral. I went and got a better job and now have good insurance but I am still playing the waiting game with these doctors. I still have cramping. I still have nausea. I have decided to give this thing a go all by myself, starting probably Friday and will continue to have blood work to check my levels.

If Oscar or anyone is still here these days, I would love a response. Thanks very much. Julia

    Dear Oscar,

    I am a petite 115-120 pound woman. I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C type 1a in 2006; my viral load was 1,001,530; AST:53; ALT:99. (I believe I contracted it in 1998.)

    On 12/12/2012 my viral load was 5,450,000; AST:45; ALT:99.

On 12/04/2013 my viral load was 8,980,000; AST:45; ALT: 95.

In January 2014 I started taking two BHT 180 mg with ascorbyl palmitate 80mg capsules (BHT Plus) on an empty stomach for a total of 360 mg BHT twice daily (720 mg/day).

On January 9,2015 my viral load was 1,990,000; AST:58; ALT:103.

I am concerned about the form of BHT I take because it contains ascorbyl palmitate which is apparently a fat soluble form of Vitamin C. I'm worried that the antioxidant effects of the ascorbyl palmitate might hamper some of the antiviral effects of the BHT. I take that form because it is the only form of BHT that my health food store and my on-line vitamin company carry.

I ordered a different brand on the internet (from Vitamin Research Products) containing BHT 350 mg, but when I opened the bottle, the strange smell of the capsules scared me. The smell was a strong, unpleasant chemical smell. I don't know if BHT normally has a smell, but the BHT with ascorbyl palmitate has virtually no smell so I stuck with that after smelling the terrible odor of the other brand.

Thank you, Oscar, for the information about BHT. I was so hopeless for so long. Finding your posts in late 2013 brought hope back into my life. By the way, the horrendous Herpes outbreaks I used to suffer have miraculously disappeared since being on the BHT. However, as I said, I still wonder about the efficacy of the product containing ascorbyl palmitate for the Hep C, and I am not sure I am taking the right dose. I am willing to try a different form of the BHT without the ascorbyl palmitate on your recommendation. And, does BHT normally have a strong smell?

    Thank you,

    Shelby

    Dear Oscar,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply, and, yes, the BHT/ascorbyl palmitate mixture is apparently the product from Pearson and Shaw. I just looked at the bottle closely, and, sure enough, in extremely small red print, it says "Durk Pearson & Sandy Shaw's" above the boldly printed name "BHT Plus". I was not familiar with their names or their book until you wrote me about it. (As I wrote before, I took that form because that was all my health food store carried.)

I just ordered BHT 250mg from Lifelinks over the phone. Thank you so very much for that recommendation. The man who took my order was very nice and said it should be here in two days. I will begin taking 250 mg with water only on an empty stomach once daily as soon as it arrives.

I do have one concern. The Lifelinks product contains 500 capsules which will last 500 days taking one a day. (My old product with 100 capsules and my taking 4 a day only lasted 25 days). With the new product, I am concerned as to how to store it for such a long time. I don't want the BHT to somehow lose potency by being exposed to air and or moisture--I live by the water and it is very damp in my apartment. Perhaps I should take out a month's worth at a time and keep the bulk of the capsules in a sealed glass jar (perhaps with a desiccant). In fact, my old product had a little package of desiccant in the bottle. I'm sorry to trouble you with such a tedious question, but I have never experienced storing a supplement for so long, and I would like to preserve it as best I can.

Again, thank you so much for your response. I now have new hope that the switch to the BHT-only treatment will have positive results. I was in a bike accident resulting in a shattered shoulder and thus a 3-hour operation (including a bone graft) on July 1st. It is the worst injury I have ever had and I am in a tremendous amount of pain. The only bright spot in this horrible ordeal is my communication with you. Being bed-ridden, my friend, who is good at chemistry, has been acting as caregiver and giving me my BHT every day. He questioned the efficacy of the "mixture" as soon as he read the ingredients on the bottle. (I had erroneously thought that the ascorbyl palmitate was simply adding a little extra Vitamin C to my regimen.) Once I was alerted to the possibility that the ascorbyl palmitate could be a problem, I immediately wanted to ask you, and, luckily, my friend is also a computer expert, so he was able to help me communicate with you. I have wanted to communicate with you since late 2013, so I feel very fortunate to finally be able to do. The horrendous accident, major surgery and painful recovery have been awful, but, ironically, it has resulted in new hope for me as far as the Hep C goes.

One last question, once I have started the 250 mg daily dose, how long should I wait to go and have my viral load tested?

    Thank you,

    Shelby

Hi Shelby, Gee, Sorry to learn of your injury. Sounds like a bad one. I was injured very badly in the Vietnam war and never have gotten over it. I still have a lot of metal fragments in me and it hurts. Try hard not to get hurt. I do.

As far storing the BHT goes: Store it in the container it came in with a packet of that stuff that keeps things dry. A desicant, a drying agent, like YOU suggested. But do NOT use a glass jar. Light and especially sunlight can and will degrade any supplement out there I can think of.

Your cupboard or a dresser drawer should be adequate as a place to store those plastic bottles BHT comes in. This is an important issue you brought up: How best to store the different supplements including BHT.

As far as testing goes: I suggest getting tested once a month. We need to find out and track how well the treatment is working and track the hoped for progress. If the treatment is not working we need to know that also.

Shelby, I want you to know: There are some very good NEW DRUGS available for treating hepatitis C. This happened within the last year or so. They are expensive but they do work. Also, you might be eligible for government assistance in paying for said new drugs. I think you would be because of this injury you suffered. Ask your doctor about that someone at a Social Security office.

But for right now lets give the BHT treatment a try and lets see if we can get the treatment working the way it is supposed to work. You have shown significant progress with the BHT mixture. I am hoping using the unmixed BHT treatment will work much better for you. That is what worked for me and many others also....Oscar

Upon rising I took a further 250mg on an empty stomach. I then proceeded to the gym for my regular aerobic workout. I noticed that I was able to breath a little more easily than normal when working out. It was a good first sign. Later in the day I took a multi-vitamin followed by a high dosage vitamin C. There have been no negative side effects to report following my first usage of BHT. If anything it has been positive so far :)

My first visit to my specialist doctor is on July 16th. So there is still some time before I see what my blood work shows.

I will keep the forum updated on a weekly basis till then. I plan to continue with my one morning capsule of BHT. I should also mention that I have very low bodyfat due to my training. It is around 7% at the moment. So one capsule a day should suffice based on Oscar's previous advice.

Dear Jay [ London ]: This is great news Jay. You have been on the BHT for one week and that clearing up of your eyes is an indication of a return to normal or healthy liver function.

But my recommendation for people who weigh over 125 pounds to 200 pounds is two 250mg of BHT per day = 500mg of BHT per day.

These are rough guidelines based on years of feedback.

So, because you tolerate BHT well and have shown improvement go to two 250mg of BHT capsules per day = 500mg of BHT per day. If any problems occur drop back to only 250mg of BHT per day.

How much do you weigh Jay, in pounds please ?

You seem to be a rapid responder to or with the BHT treatment. I want to see you knock this infection out and fast the way I did.

You are doing it the way I did. Being careful and all that. But, once I knew I was safe taking BHT I did double the dosage to two 250mg capsules per day = 500mg of BHT per day. I want to see you get well and fast....Oscar

    BHT
Posted by Oscar (Syracuse, New York) on 06/26/2015

Dear Jay [ London ]: Well, it is a relief for me to work with someone who provides timely responses and answers my questions.

As I stated: My guidelines as to dosage are rough ones. There are a number of factors that go into what a proper dosage of BHT is. These include:

    1. body weight.

    2. fat content of said body weight.

    3. age.

    4. overall health condition.

    5. any and all other health problems.

    6. any and all other medications a given person is taking.

    7. the overall health of the liver. Cirrhosis of the liver does make the BHT treatment more difficult for example.

In all ways you seem to be a very good candidate for success with the BHT treatment. The ONLY problem you seem to be dealing with is a hepatitis C infection. And your positive response to this treatment is no surprise to me for those reasons.

Now living in London I do assume you should qualify for the different liver tests. Jay you can help yourself a lot by having those liver function tests done. They really do not cost very much. And when possible a VIRAL LOAD count test is very important. That test costs about 300 dollars US.

The first goal is to reach UNDETECTABLE with said viral load count tests. This usually takes about a month or so depending on how infected your liver is with hepatitis C. That does NOT mean you are CURED. What it does mean is that the BHT treatment is working the way it is supposed to work. The BHT is readily destroying those virus particles in the bloodstream as they occur as a result of infected liver cells dumping hepatitis C virons into the bloodstream in what is called a cellular burst. An infected liver cell literally bursts dumping a very many HCV virons into the bloodstream any one of which can infect a non-infected liver cell.

Now stay with me about this. Many doctors even get this wrong:

Your average liver cell lives about 200 days. Unlike most organs: The liver is constantly producing brand new liver cells. So, if you get to: UNDETECTABLE in that blood count test you are preventing any uninfected liver cells from becoming infected with the HCV virus. BUT, you still have a very many infected liver cells that will infect uninfected liver cells if you stop the BHT treatment. Therefore, you NEED to continue the BHT treatment for NO LESS than two years after you achieve UNDETECTABLE. It is the antibodies test that shows a TRUE CURE. When you test NEGATIVE with the HCV antibodies test you are CURED and not until then. Just to be very sure I would continue with the BHT treatment for at least one more year to make very sure there are no infected liver cells remaining AFTER you test negative with that HCV antibodies test.

I will state: A very many people get an UNDETECTABLE result with that HCV blood count test and then RELAPSE with whatever treatment. Do you understand what I am trying to explain ? The importance of continued BHT treatment after UNDETECTABLE is achieved in what is ONLY a blood test? And NOT a test of or about infected liver cells. Am I being clear enough about that for you to understand me? ...Oscar

    Oscar,

As mentioned before I intend to keep my protocol simple. However I was thinking of adding monolaurin due to it's powerful anti-viral properties. I have also read that it is a good candidate for use with BHT. What is your current thinking regarding this supplement and its use with BHT?

Hi Jay, I know of NO reason why monolaurin would negatively impact the BHT treatment. It is a lipid. What is unusual about monolaurin is that it has only one hydrocarbon so called " tail " as opposed to the usual two and sometimes three tail groups.

See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monolaurin. So yes to monolaurin if you wish to use it. I use olive oil myself as a useful foodstuff. Olive oil is a mixture of many different lipids.

Just do NOT mix the BHT with the monolaurin when taking it. Wait an hour or more. BHT should be used by itself with water only for best results in my opinion. That is because BHT with water only is digested in a very different way than BHT mixed in any vegetable oil [ lipids ].

    Oscar,

My new regimen is as follows:

    • BHT 500mg/day
    • Vitamin C 1000mg/day
    • Multi-Vitamin/Mineral (Centrum one a day)
    • Monolaurin 1100 mg/day.

    Thanks as always, Oscar!

Dear Jay, You are on your own with this monolaurin. You asked my opinion about monolaurin as an antiviral. My opinion based on what is written about it only: Is that monolaurin is a powerful antiviral all by itself. The same is true of BHT. And that they both do essentually the same thing: Strip away those lipid coatings that encase the many different lipid coated viruses when they exist as virons in the bloodstream only.

I am concerned that you might be overdoing it. If ANY adverse effects are experienced cut back on one or both of what are two different treatments. I have NEVER tried the monolaurin and for that reason cannot be relied on for help with dosage issues when both treatments are being used or monolaurin by itself for that matter.

It is my big hope that reach undetectable and fast. Please get yourself tested soon. You may very well be UNDETECTABLE already.

Then it is a matter of coming up with dosages you can tolerate for about 2 years. I am thinking once you get to undetectable it will be advisable to lower one or both of those dosages.

Once I got to undetectable: In about 4 weeks with the BHT alone: I was only using 350mg of BHT per day.

Now, Mike " twodragunns " did get to: A NEGATIVE test result with the hepatitis C ANTIBODIES test in somewhat less than one year using the 250mg of BHT twice a day = 500mg of BHT per day with water only on an empty stomach as reported here in this forum. And it did take me more than one year to get there using the 350mg of BHT per day in one dosage. I do not know how long it took me to get there.

And please keep in mind my position on all this: If adverse reactions to the BHT treatment occur ALWAYS take LESS. And if you or any other person chooses to use both the monolaurin treatment along with the BHT treatment the same is true for the monolaurin: If adverse reactions occur ALWAYS take less.

Careful dosing is required with these treatments and any and all treatments as far as that goes.

Please get that viral load count test and lets see where you are at right now. Also: those liver function tests are very important and not at all expensive. They only cost about 30 dollars US and that way you can know with some certainty how your liver function is tolerating the now two different treatments.

I preach this testing stuff over and over. It is the only way I know of to get an honest picture of what is going on inside of you....Oscar
