It's the garlic reacting with the acid in the lemon. It is fine.

Hi, just wanted to calm the fear about the color change. I just cooked up a batch of this for my husband in ceramic cookware, using a wooden spoon to stir and it did turn a bright blue-green color. I added the honey and still the same. I keep it in the fridge and I have taken it myself for three days now without any problems. I don't believe it's the metal utensils that caused the color change, although I think it's good advice to use glass or ceramic. I think it's just a chemical reaction among all the ingredients that's brought about by the heating process. I haven't felt any ill feelings whatsoever. I looked up Dr. Ketan Patkar's site that was recommended by someone in a prior post, and he says clearly to take it with a glass of warm water, as does Mama to Many. Get ready for a powerful flavor blast though!

Jg, that happens often when you mix crushed garlic with lemon. Especially if you don't consume it within a few hours. It's some chemical reaction.

It doesn't affect the taste, and probably not the medicinal properties, it's just quite unappetizing!!

Mixture can turn green or light brown, no harm, depends on the ingredients mainly ginger and garlic. It is important that you use clay/earthen pot or procelin as mixture can react with metal as it is ascetic acid. ACV must be organic, raw and unfiltered for best result. Honey must also be raw and pure.
