Afternoon Fatigue
Posted by Judy (Madison, Wisconsin) on 04/16/2013
Hello, I eat a very light lunch (1/2 sandwich on whole wheat), cup of yogart, orange/apple and maybe a few pretzels when at work. However, shortly after I eat, I am so tired I cannot keep my eyes open. I seem to be much better off if I do not eat anything at all during the day. I realize this may be your body's response after a very large meal but why after a light lunch?? Any suggestions on what may be the cause??

Alkalizing Remedies

Normally when I get up in the morning I am stiff and have no energy, but when I drink lots of water with some apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, I lose the stiffness and feel very energetic. For me it is the water that gives me the energy.

Fatigue
Hello. I am reaching out for help. Last month I had a hida scan done which resulted in everything functioning normally. Last year I had a endoscopy done which showed acute gastritis. Went to see a different Gastro Dr. who has me taking a ppi which I think is contributing to flu like aches. Before that I had and still have this pain that won't go away in upper right chest thru shoulder. It is constant, most days I have to take acetomeniphen or the like for the pain in order to sleep. I clinch my teeth because of the pain and now that hurts. I am tired all the time and I am getting to the point where I don't feel like doing anything on my days off from work. My thoughts are foggy, I feel I am one big ache.
Sorry to be whining. I have tried the apple cider vinegar/baking soda a while back which helped the acid reflux but the pain was still there. I also did the lemon/lime and baking soda with water in the mornings to achieve a ph (pain still there). I am talking in circles here I know. Please, your imput is greatly appreciated. Should I go for more tests etc.? What to do.

I am a 32 year old female. The last 6 months I have felt a lot of fatigue. Just full blown exhaustion. Small errands seemed like giant tasks. On top of that, I also went through about 5 sinus infections. And some of the worst morning congestion I had ever had in my life. Just a big ball of misery. Having a hyper energetic 5 year old son I couldn't keep up with was depressing me because I have always gone the extra mile for him.
I'm a firm believer in ACV. However I too sometimes don't drink it daily (busy life and kid) and sometimes slack off. After day 1 back on it I felt 50% better. Less congestion and less fatigue.
Day 2: about 70% better.
Day 3: good as new.
I wouldn't say it gives me energy but it's more like it just makes me feel fully awake and alert and I just feel good and I FEEL HEALTHY again. I go to work and in the afternoons I am back to being super mom with no dragging exhaustion. I can just get up and do things again without that constant fatigue feeling. Getting groceries isn't a daunting task. Laundry gets done and put up. It's been 3 weeks now since I've been back to the ACV and after this horrible last run of being tired and sickly I will NOT slack off again and I keep several bottles of it and leave a bottle on my counter so there is no more "outta sight outta mind".
Here is my routine:
First I drink an 8oz glass of just room temp water after I wake up. Then I put about a tablespoon of ACV in 12oz of WARM water (mixes better in warm water and helps take away the vinegar taste - also I dilute it a bit more by using 12oz instead of 8oz water) and sip that every few minutes while I'm getting ready for work in the morning. If I drink it fast it can upset my stomach so I have found it better to not chug it all at once. Occasionally I'll add a teaspoon of raw organic honey but most mornings just the ACV diluted in warm water. I don't care what anyone else says. I found what has worked for me and I am sticking to it.
My only suggestion to anyone who says it upset their stomach would be to try diluting it a bit more like I did and/or try sipping that warm mixture while you get ready for work or do any kind of morning routine instead of chugging it all at once.
Thank you Earth Clinic. I've been a long time lurker but finally wanted to share what ACV has done for me personally and how much my overall well being has improved since back on it.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Energy
I have been suffering from fatigue for several months now. Actually longer. But, it's gotten worse. My husband has pretty much given up on our house being clean. He (my hubby) found this sight on Sunday while searching for ways to help our sick cat. I started reading up on the apple cider vinegar uses and started using the drink for energy on Tuesday. I didn't search deep enough to find out that the vinegar should be the unpasterized kind with the "mother" in it. I did use the basic store brand kind and started feeling better by the second day. This is the fourth day and I do feel better. The past two days are the first in months that I haven't felt like I needed a nap desperatly. I bought some of the vinegar with the "mother" in it today. So, we'll see how it goes. I'm so thankfull that we found this websight. Now, if only my cat would get better...
Thanks ACV

I am now a firm believer of the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar. For the past 6 months I have been suffering from extreme fatigue, and do not know why. I've been to many doctors and not one can tell me why. I think I have it narrowed down to either chronic fatigue syndrome, valley fever or an allergy. I started taking ACV on a regular basis (3T per day) for the past 2 week. I can't even explain how much better I feel...it has given me my life back after 6 months of suffering. I still do not know what exactly is causing the fatigue, but I no longer have it! I would recommend this to everyone! I feel great, no more brain fog, fatigue, sore throat and my headaches are GONE. I finally feel normal again!

Hey guys. First off, I've been following this site for some time now. It's great -- I recommend it to everyone. My grandmother used to take ACV years ago and I'd try it and it was horrible to the taste. So since i have been really getting in to natural medicine. I started taking acv in a pill form. and it gave me a yeast infection. YES, I'm a man with a yeast infection. It's horrible and my pH is always acidic. I'm also a vegan. no meat whatssoever.. I have been like this for 10 yrs, so I read about Ted's baking soda trick. I tried and threw up. I'm a wimp. so what i did was open up the acv pill, empty half of the powder out, and put baking soda in its place. I take two a day every other day.. OMG I tell I woke up this morning and shot outta bed and ran around the house. my wife thought I was nuts.. I told her I have so much energy. I always wake up tired. and aches. TED I LOVE U!!!!!! Wish there were more people in the world like you. Thanks for helping us.

I have struggled with GERD, Overweight, and fatigue for several years. After the medical discovery that Prilosec, Nexium and other medications as these can stop calcium from being absorbed in your bones, I was a little scared. So I decided to do some web surfing for natural cures.. And YOU WERE HERE! Over a week ago I started the ACV and HOT water with baking soda mixture. The first three days I lost 5 pounds and my reflux problem was gone. It tried to come back later that first week, so I increased my intake of AVC to a more powerful solution.
1/2 cup of ACV
1/2 cup of water
1/2 teaspoon of Baking Soda ( 1 x day)
Today I weighed again ad I have lost 9 lbs! I am so happy! Plus my blood pressure is becoming more stable. The GERD is gone. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for this website! God bless you guys!

I started out my freshman year in highschool very nicely until about November, when winter started to hit. I became extrememly fatigued and had an unusually hard time waking up in the morning. The exhaustion would carry out through the day, to the point where I missed too much school and now have to retake some classes.I've been drinking acv -2 capfulls in a glass of water- everyday for about a month. Lately I have been waking up at around 6:30 every day, with energy! I used to wake up fully rested at about 9:30. I think it's amazing. I also can't remember the last time I had any sort of sickness. In our town there seems to be something new every week, but nothing's hit me all winter. This stuff is magic.

I had debilitating fatigue for years...like 10 years. I slept all the time and was fatigued with the brain fog, etc. when I was awake. I had really tried everything to fix it but nothing really worked. Then I went to a chiropractor (I found him online, he had very good reviews). The first time I went to him he did an adjustment on me, and there was this massive cracking and popping. I don't know how this works but after this adjustment I just felt so much different- I could fall asleep relatively easily, I slept well, and I could wake up at a normal hour. I know that different people have different responses to chiropractic care, but I had never heard of this as a potential solution to my fatigue, and it has changed my life. If you have tried everything else, it might be useful to find a trusted chiropractor and see if a chiropractic adjustment helps you.

Chlorophyll helped fatigue and mental fog
If you're feeling tense, lethargic, foggy headed, indecisive, digestively unsound try taking a chlorophyll algae supplement, or making wheatgrass juice. Apparently wheatgrass is the same as quackgrass/crabgrass? Just go into the back 40 and pick a bunch (providing there are no chemicals/pesticides etc back there..), the roots are good too. Put it through the blender with some water, pour it onto a towel over a bowl and squeeze the juice/water out. Or you can get a juicer like I eventually did. Well worth the $250. Run some dandelions through roots and all, too. Dandelion root tea helps a lot, too. Tea two or three times a day, a full glass of juice once or twice a day.
Coconut Oil

I, too have noticed an energy boost when I take coconut oil. I started having some in the hope that it would help with my freezing cold hands and feet. However, I noticed that within five minutes of eating coconut oil, my mind cleared and became very focused. It also made me a bit sick to my stomach when I had it straight from the jar. So, I put a few tablespoons in a blender with a couple of handfuls of walnuts (you could use any nuts). This makes an oily nutbutter. You can use a spoon to drop it in small dollops on a plate and cool it in the fridge/freezer for a few minutes before popping them off and storing them in an airtight container in the fridge. You can also add other herbs/powders to the mix if you want. I usually add some of the following: cayenne, cinnamon, cocoa powder, sea salt, dried leafy greens (just throw them in a spice grinder after dehydrating them - this is great if you have a CSA or buy huge amounts of spinach at Costco), etc. then, I nibble on one throughout the day. I probably eat about a tablespoon total. It's just an idea!

I started using coconut oil 5 days ago - because I heard that it helps you to lose weight. I've not really tracked my weight so far, but I can say, hand on heart, that I have suddenly found a load more energy from somewhere. My 3 year old still wakes me up through the night and some evenings it was as much as I could do to just sit in the chair watching TV or playing with my computer. I now feel energised enough to WANT to wash up etc.. I have noticed that I need to use the bathroom a lot more (maybe having 4-6 number "2s" during the day - which is highly unusual as normally it's 1-2 every other day) -and I've developed an incredible wind problem in the evening. I normally take 1 tablespoon first thing in the morning with my smoothie and it instantly wakes me up. Tonight for the first time I've taken another tablespoon so I'll see how I get on. Can't say I like the taste of it straight out of the jar - it made me feel sick the first day - but can't taste it in the smoothies. I used Holland & Barratt - which costs. c£9.95 but have no idea if its cold pressed/virgin etc..
