I made fresh cranberry juice and drank a half of glass and noticed that my pungent body odor had vanished. In order to rid yourself of body odor you have to treat the underlying issue. So not only is FRESH cranberry juice good for the urinary tract, but it eliminates body odor as well!
Deodorant Recipe
★★★★★
Recipe
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1/4 cup corn starch or arrow root powder
- 6-8 tablespoons virgin coconut oil, melted
- (lots of people add a fragrance. I like the coconut smell and it goes away)
Note: I had a reaction (hives) to cornstarch after shaving. So I tried arrow root. It seems to work as well, but no reaction.
Note: Melt the coconut oil by putting the tub in a bowl of hot water. Use all 8 Tb if you want more moisture, more smell, or have problems like a reaction / hives.
Sift both powders to remove lumps. With an electric beater (or by hand) beat in the oil until there are no lumps and its fluffy. (Run your fingers through it)
Spoon it into any small jar. It will turn hard if you refrigerate it for about 15 minutes. You may have to do this twice, but after 2 weeks of sitting in my bathroom drawer mine is very firm and doesn't get soft. ( Maybe it takes time to really firm up? ). It makes about 2 baby food jars. Apply a pea size amount. I do reapply at night if its hot. Some people put it into an old deodorant tube after making it. I have not tried this. Enjoy!!

hi Caleb from Calgary, Ab, Canada: I too work in an office setting with no strenuous work. Other than walking to the copier I hardly move but not less than 2-3hr after I get to work the strong under arm odor begins. We are in very tight quarters so hard for any one not to smell me. Can you tell me how you do the colon cleanse because we share some of the same habits such as going to the bathroon lathering up and doing this several times a day to no avail. I now think that people are avoiding walking by me area just so they don't get slapped in the face by the funk! .. Help! I am going to try the liver cleanse because that is the only thing I have not done so far. Everything else that I tried seemed to work for a little while but the odor always comes back. Do you use 100% grapefruit juice or can you use the pink grapefruit juice?? please respond because I think you may have hit upon something here. How many times a day do you do it?? how much do you take?? I'm praying that you have the answer.

I can corroborate that a clean liver can mean no body odor, although I haven't done a colon cleanse. I've been doing some of the liver cleansing supplements recommended by Bill. These include magnesium, vitamin C, N-acetyl cysteine, alpha lipoic acid, Co-Q10, B vitamin complex, and milk thistle. I'm not very consistent with taking them, but when I do take them at least twice a day, I notice that I have no underarm odor and I don't use conventional deordorant.
Another observation though, is sometimes when I experiment with taking magnesium and I can get the level just right, I will also not have body odor. I don't know if it's connected at all. However, this is trickier because I've noticed that my body's needs for magnesium change from day to day, depending on diet, stress, sleep, and activity. It is very easy to overdo the Mag and get looser bowels the next day. I haven't experimented much with topical application for therapeutic levels, but I have used body sprays that have Mag oil as a base for the function of deodorant that have worked very well. I also use Milk of Magnesia as a very effective, and cheap, deodorant, which is another form of topical magnesium.

Sorry all, I didn't visit this particular page for a while as you can see. Here's my response to your questions. I'm still happy to say that I don't have underarm odors anymore and I don't use any deodorant. Sometimes I put 2-3 drops of oil (lavender etc just for the accented good smelling oil). I go to work without any deodorant, gone 3 or4 days without taking a shower just to prove that it's not there, shower every 2 or 3 days when I want and I don't smell. Of course there'll be a little body smell but I have to dig my nose in. I did the liver cleanse and it was with grapefruits I bought at the supermarket and squeezed the juice. Do a search for "grapefruit Epsom salts olive oil liver cleanse" and you'll get the formula. However I haven't done that since I did that first post so this is what I do now if I want a colon cleanse. You can google for "sea salt flush". It has to be sea salt – totally unrefined and no additives. Use 2 level teaspoons of sea salt to 1 litre of water (I use filtered water) and drink it on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning before breakfast. Weekends work best for me as I don't have to go to work. It's not the most pleasant but it works and all of the water comes right back out in about an hour taking all of the smelly remains with it so make sure you stay at home and have unrestricted access to the washroom. You'll be going there several times in quick succession.
Mary, in response to your question of how many times I do it – I do it now maybe every couple of months if I notice that there's odor when I go to the washroom. When I did the liver cleanse the odor elimination was a wonderful side effect. I wasn't expecting that. So you don't have to do the liver cleanse if you don't want to, you can just do the colon flush. You do it till you notice no more odor and that might 1, 2 or 3 times, it all depends. I also take psyllium husks in between to add more fibre and does a good job of cleaning the colon so I don't do the flush often, only when my body tells me and it has its way. Be odor free like free and I wish you all the best.

I have been using baking soda for under arm deodorant for several years now. In fact I use baking soda for body wash. It seems when I use store bought soaps that I have body odour no matter how good the soap smells. It only takes a tiny amount of baking soda for the underarm deodorant.
I have a suspicion also that home made sauerkraut in the diet once in a while may help the body to fight the bad bacteria in the gut which may help with reducing body odour. Home made sauerkraut is raw and unheated and therefore still alive with beneficial microbes. That store bought stuff has been cooked or pasteurised.

I read about using diaper rash ointment for under arm protection in the newspaper last week. I tried it that very day-- it's the best antiperspirant/deodorant I have ever used. It's a wonderful alternative to the usual stuff.

I had bad body odor. I started to experiment with making my own deodorant not to save money or due to the toxins they contain, (I was unaware at that time) but because I couldn't get one that I didn't have to reapply repeatedly thought the day.
I found a recipe online, there are many, added coconut oil, beeswax (had to purchase) baking soda, cornflour, and the only essential oils I had, eucalyptus and tea tree. Since then I have added bentonite clay, shea, cocoa butter, and subbed the gmo cornflour for arrowroot and tapioca starch, and bought more feminine but still antibacterial essential oils, orange blossom and rosewood is a favorite.
The first day I used my product was a work day, I was very nervous. But with one application it lasted all day. And I found I have been using too much also, you just need a smidge. I make manly scented ones for my boys, the 11 year old has suddenly started needing it, and I can definitely tell when he has forgotten to use it!
Well the last few days I have forgotten to apply after showering (3am shift starts, don't judge) and I can tell you before I would have noticed a smell by the time I got to work. So no problem, there is some in my work bag and I'd just apply at work. But then I thought I'll just see. So I went all day without deodorant. And at the end of the day there was a slight smell IF I sniffed. Not at all possible before. No way.
I realised today when reading an EC onion post that since then I have learned so much about my health, toxins in every day foods, chemicals, additives, phytates, etc, the importance of alkalising and replacing vitamins and minerals, that my diet is so much cleaner, and that is what has got rid of the body odor. I consider what I eat, eating less wheat unless soaked or genuine sourdough, avoid sugar, avoid meds, added pure salts, added ferments, enjoy kombucha, my dairy is now cultured with kefir grains for easy digestion, and I simply cook and eat more natural. Before if someone had told me I could get rid of my b.o. from changing my diet, I would have laughed and kept on eating my junk.
Blessings of health to you all in this new year.

Eliminate Onions From Your Diet!
★★★★★
When you have putrid underarm odors it is caused by other conditions, and onions just make the smell worse. The body's ability to oxygenate the body is severely depressed. Try alkalizing the body with sodium bicarbonate and take magnesium chloride as a supplements. Usually people with putrid odor is a sign of magnesium and zinc deficiency and onions sometimes get the bad rap. Also eating fried foods and vegetable oils also leads to putrid odors as well. Hydrogen peroxide therapy and silver colloids do help a lot with the putrid odors."

Now, my husband struggles from a sore back, and no, it is not related to a vitamin/ mineral or exercise issue... He stinks! Because he bathes only once a week. If he would only shower more I would not make him sleep on the sofa! Hence the back problem would be solved! LOL
