Ted's Remedies for Degenerative Disc Disease

Last Modified on Sep 16, 2014

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "Hyaluronic acid, yes I buy them from purebulk. The only particular brand I like is not the brand itself but for those formulations used for horses, which is proven to work. Hyaluronic acid is way better then the popular Glucosamine sulfate. It is a miracle supplement against back pain caused by degenerative spinal column.

My formula that works is as follows: 500 mg of Hyaluronic acid powder (sodium hyaluronate) plus 9 grams of sea salt in 500 cc of water. Store in refrigerator when not in used. The formula advocated by the (purebulk) will not work as it degrades Hyaluronic acid since vitamin C will obviously degrade them. They do get more stable if EDTA is added in small amounts as free metal irons tend to degrade them. The dose is about 8 caps three times a day empty stomach. It takes about 2 weeks to completely remove all back pain and the joint affected area in extremities may take a little longer. I have a couple of cases with severe spinal degeneration of cartilage and gets fully restored upon taking of HA. What the HA does is very simple. It is a major component of synovial fluid - spinal fluids. It is also found in your skull that acts as a shock absorber. So if the movie Rocky got decomissioned from boxing, the HA will restore the brain concussion and helps boxers against brain damage as HA will act as shock absorber between the brain and the skull.

As for the severe cartilage degeneration, the cause is simple: your cartilage works like a hydraulic system. The HA (Hyaluronic acid) is the hydraulic fluids which fills up the spinal column. The addition of HA fills up the deflated tire of your cartilage, thus restoring the the flattened cartilage. HA is one of the fluids that is also used by cells, but the obvious application is for back pain.

As mentioned, all people that I know of do not need to do spinal surgery caused by damage of the cartilage and can get it fully restored with just HA in a matter of 2 weeks and all pain is gone. However, a back pain may also be caused by muscle stiffness due to lack of magnesium as well as arthritis, which MSM does well in eliminating the arthritic neck pain and back pain. It takes about 1 week to reduce the severity of arthritic back pain by 50% in about 1-2 week. Further reduction is possible.

I have a man who is chairman who owns oil spill up technology was involved with motorcycle accident and had brain concussion. Taking HA larger dose such as 12 capful three times a day reduced his concussion pain within a matter of 30 minutes, with complete recovery from the concussion pain within the week. As for HA's effect as an anti-aging supplement, it might help restoring some wrinkles, but the best way to do this, for both men and women (we're talking about people who are 40 or over) is the progesterone cream, used only twice a week at 1/8 teaspoon, mixed with a small amount of HA. This will reduce the aging skin from both HA & Progesterone.

The basics of HA is simple: it hydrates the body's system. It also acts as a lubricant along the lungs to reduce asthma. When the lungs dries up, you get asthma and the HA lubricates the cellular tissues in the organ, thus restoring the lung's breathing capacity. Of course you still need to rid of fungus which causes asthma. As for the person with a severe neck arthritis, for 20 years, went 50% away within 1 week and completely away in about 3 weeks using MSM 2000 mg x 5 times a day plus B1 thiamine 200 to 400 mg a day (for numbness of extremities).

So James Coburn, the actor who mentioned about curing arthritis with MSM was correct in MSM curing the arthritis. The problem was dose/frequency issue that I have to find out, as well as compare its effectiveness against other arthritis supplements out there. As it turns out, MSM is the best supplement for arthritis, but not HA, which is more ideally suited for joint pain and spinal degeneration, even to the point that the person even WON'T NEED BACK SURGERY. The cartilage actually regenerates itself. So when people speak of hydration consider HA."

[YEA]  Hello!

I would first like to express my joy in having come across your site! It has been working miracles on many of my ailments. I'm 25, recently diagnosed with phase 1 degenerative disc disease. I found out about Ted's mixture of hyaluronic acid and sea salt and immediately got on it. I've been taking it for 3 days and the pain in my spine has substantially subsidized. I read that it takes 2 weeks to fully restore the disk cartilage.

My question is upon the full restoration of my discs would I have to stay on a maintenance dose of hyaluronic acid? If so do I have to take it forever? Considering that I'm 25, I do not smoke and I'm far from obese I wouldn't think that I would need to take it forever, I just want to be sure that I'm able to restore the slight loss of fluids that was currently lost from my discs which is causing immense pain. Thank you for your time and contributions!

Natalie,

Did you find out if you need to keep taking it after 2 weeks? I don't see a response to your question. Thinking about buying some of the hyaluronic acid soon for lower back discs. Thanks! Kody

Please help! My 16 year old had her 3rd disc rupture and 2nd back surgery in 3 years. She is still not pain free and doctor said she won't be due to ddd. Her incision is still oozing 2.5 months after surgery. I will start her on the hyluronic acid and sea salt, but what else for the muscle pain??

Vitamin K, Vit D plus Calcium for strong bones. A warm soaked Epsom Salt wash towel over the affected area 2x daily will help.

My first thought was Magnesium for her muscle pain. Perhaps nice, long soaks in the tub with Epsom Salts? (1-2 cups dissolved in the bath water.)

It may even benefit the healing of the incision.

Most of us have a magnesium deficiency. Please read Dr. Sircus about transdermal magnesium. I have found it very helpful for arthritis. I do not think you should apply it on the wound. But elsewhere would be good. It will absorb and help heal. The product is called magnesium oil. It is not actually an "oil" but does share some characteristics of an oil. It absorbs in a few minutes. Like most all supplements, patience helps as defiencies are not corrected overnight.

Magnesium oil is a must but not enough for degenerative disc disease. You also need vitamin d, and bioavailable calcium through food like almonds, sesame seeds, dark greens, organic whey protein from 100% concentrate.

You need boron also. Spray a borax solution mixed with water on the degenerated area. (half a tea spoon with half a liter of water sprayed on the area twice a day)

you need to eat food high in phosphorous.

you need to massgae a mixture of clove oil 10% and castor oil 30% and extra virgin coconut oil 60%. This works like a charm, but needs time in such situations. You also need to elliminate foods like wheat sugar fried food and junk food and grains, to stop fueling the underlying undiagnosed hidden body condition or major multiple malnutritions, that are causing your disc to degenerate. This is most vital to success and better than treating the symproms on site, to ensure future body harmony.

you can email me for questions.

[YEA]  I just want to say thank you SO so much to Ted for posting this remedy and to Lisa from Lafeyette for sharing her story and giving additional instructions regarding the remedy.

I have been suffering from back pain since I was 17 yrs. Old. I'm 29 now. I've always had my back "go out" on me and be laid up in bed for a few weeks and then be able to start hobbling around again. Living in constant pain or fear of pain is a horrible exsistance though. This past Sept. (2011) my back finally gave up on me. I lost the use of both legs and was in the most excruicating pain of my entire life. I was unable to care for my 2yr. Old and was on horrible prescription drugs for months. I was constantly in a fog of pain and exhaustion (brought on by the drugs). I tried physical therapy and that helped but I had to stay on the meds.

I had an MRI done and my doctor told me I have severe degeneration in my discs, spinal arthritis all along my spine, and my L4 & L5 are bulging. The rest of my lumbar discs are also trying to bulge and have little to no fluid left to cushion them. I was so devastated.

After several months of trying to do things the "medical" way I decided to search for a natural remedy on my own. I can't tell you how elated I am that I found this site and the recipe for Ted's hyaluronic acid. I decided to give it a try.

I have been using this remedy now for maybe 2 1/2 weeks and I am almost 100% pain free. I went off my meds on day two so I could feel how much the hyaluronic was working, except that it relieved almost all of my pain after only 3 doses!!! It's so incredible to feel this pain free. My entire body feels so much better. I started taking a vegetarian glucosamine and MSM supplement as well after about a week and a half and I've only seen improvement. I am still taking the hyaluronic 3 times a day because my spine has been under so much stress for so many years and I just feel better when I take it 3 times.

There is so much more that I want to say and share about where this site and this remedy has led me; how I can feel so much about my body that I never knew I was missing. I feel incredible now that I'm giving myself what I need to not just survive but thrive! I don't want to make this post too long that no one will read it though. :P

Overall I just can't thank you enough Ted, Earth Clinc and this community. The combination of hyaluronic acid and physical therapy is helping me to live life again, pain free. I've started to lose weight as well now that my body isn't so clouded with prescription medications. I know that will only help my spine to heal as well. Thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart thank you!

Hi Ted, This site is wonderful, as are the folks who participate. Thank you so much!

You said the treatment for Degenerative Disc Disease is as follows:

"500 mg of Hyaluronic acid powder (sodium hyaluronate) plus 9 grams of sea salt in 500 cc of water. Store in refrigerator when not in used. " I'm confused on a few things and thanks ahead of time.

Here are my questions:

1. How much HA do I order from the purebulk website? Is 500 mg of Hyaluronic acid enough to last the entire two weeks, longer perhaps?

2. For bone AND cartilage restoration, what would the amount of time be for restoration? Maintenance?

3. Do I continue this indefinitely and then go on a maintenance dosage?

Thanks for all the feedback.

Many thanks for this wonderful article. Following surgery 1994 laminectomy/discectomy L5/S1 level my latest MRI shows degenerative disc disease. I'm going to try the HA formula. The only thing confusing me is the vitamin C. I take a buffered vitamin C with magnesium and calcium. Should I stop using the vitamin C when taking HA? Any help or advice greatly appreciated. Thank you

Does anyone know if this would work to rebuild cartilage in the trachea? I am trying to come up with ways to help my dog's collapsing trachea, which vets say is permanent. But I think that if the issue is weak cartilage in trachea, why wouldn't strengthening cartilage help the problem? Thnx!!

[YEA]  A million thank yous Ted for the Degenerative Disc remedy recipe with Hyaluronic acid, sea salt and water. Today was the first day in about a month that I was able to sneeze and not feel pain in my lower back. I became determined to find something that could help me overcome extreme pain in my lower back and referred pain in my left thigh that would often throb, after I had a bit of a breakdown when I came to grips that my few options included pain killers for the rest of my life, back surgery and/or the possibility of walking with a cane. I recently turned 31 and I was devastated.

Before I tried your remedy, I could not walk at full stride - I could only walk slowly and every step was painfull. I couldn't sit for a lengthy period of time before my back would begin to hurt. I could not stand for a long time without my left leg feeling like it was about to become disjointed at my waist. Reaching was impossible. I could not manage a full night's sleep and most nights I had to sleep on the floor because my bed, although quite firm, couldn't support my condition well.

I found your recipe and made my first batch August 25th. Within the first few days, I could feel that the pain was slightly less, only barely noticeable. As the days passed, I could feel that the pain was still slightly decreasing. Because I had lived with the pain for some time, I didn't know what kind of benchmark I could use to really give a green light that it was working. Today is the seventh day that I've been taking the remedy - mind you, although I'd prefer to take it as recommended, I have not been able to take it 3 times a day and a few days, I only took it once. Instead of having to brace myself for the pain I knew I would feel, I was able to sneeze without discomfort today. I am highly encouraged by my results and look forward to a full recovery. To think, a week ago, I was in tears because I was looking at a grim future. Now, I'm looking forward to being able to exercise and stretch again. I can already walk with a full stride and I can reach without straining too much. I still feel some pain when I've stressed my back or leg too far but I know it will soon subside for good. Thank you very much for sharing this remedy. I can't begin to tell you how much it means to me.

Ted I need to confirm about taking HA everyday until the cartliage is cured. The dose is about 8 caps three times a day empty stomach. It takes about 2 weeks to completely remove all back pain and the joint affected area in extremities may take a little longer. Thank you, Sam

Dear Ted, Can you help explain the different uses for HA vs. MSM. One's for degenerative disc disease, the other for arthritis... But not sure what the difference is in layperson's terms. Can you help with this? Thanks-a-million! Jason M Chicago

Post on degenerative disc disease - mention "8 caps per day". Is this typo error and should read "8 cups" or some other measurement? thanks for your consideration

[YEA]   Lynette, not 8 cups, 8 CAPS. The reference to caps means the cap on the top of a typical water bottle. Altogether, it measures approx a shotglass full, maybe a little less. Measure the first time, mark your glass, then you won't have to measure it every time. I use a little plastic cup for that.

Quick update; my hubby has been taking Ted's recipe for the HA, 500 mg. Powder in 16 oz. Water, with 9 grams sea salt (approx 1 1/2 teas. Salt). His back is improving in a shocking manner (to him, at least), he is able to move like he hasn't moved in years! He used to be in karate as a teen, and can kick his leg straight up in front of him, (Whoo! I had to duck, didn't see THAT one coming! ), and his knee is steadily on the mend. That's all in less than 2 weeks.

Put your water in the fridge for about 4 hours, get it to 39 degrees or so. Add powder and salt and shake. Powder won't dissolve right away. Put back in fridge. Shake every 2-4 hours. In about 12-18 hours, the powder will be all dissolved, and water will have a slight thickening to it. This gives approx 10 doses. At dose 7 or so, around 2 1/2 days, start another bottle in the above manner so you won't miss a dose. I figured out that this method gives you roughly 150 mg. HA per day. After this 3 week regimen, use 12 oz water (open new 16.9 oz water bottle, pour out little over 1/4 cup, this leaves you 12 oz). Add 3000 mg. Ascorbic acid (vit c powder) BEFORE refrigerating. Shake well. Refrigerate 4 hours till 39 degrees or so. Put in approx 2 grams HA (2000 mg. Powder), and close lid. Shake, same as method described above. In 12-18 hours, it should be ready. This formula is much thicker. 1 Tablespoon dose will be 75 mg. Do morning & nite, on empty tummy. Also pour tiny bit in your hand, to rub on your face, neck and hands. AWESOME serum for the skin. DO NOT put your hands or mouth on this bottle, to keep from contaminating ingredients.

Side note: Vit C in body acts with any iron running around in there to break down the HA, which is not good. Take a quercetin tablet (bioflavinoid) to prevent this, and get OPTIMAL results from your HA. Sorry for long post, I've done so much research on this I talk about HA in my sleep. Good luck. I am not a doctor or nutritionist, just an interested by-stander. Do your own research and see your physician before taking anyone's advise!

Is half hour before meal or one hour after meal fit the definition of empty stomach ?

Peter, that sounds fine to me. We usually take our morning dose right before breakfast (maybe 15-30 min) and the evening dose right before bed (we eat kind of late). My husband takes his mid day dose a couple hours after lunch, but I'm sure one hour after food would be fine. Good luck! By the way, my mom has been on it for 1 week, Purebulk's thicker recipe, 150 mg. Daily, and she said she can mow her back AND front yard now without getting tired at all. Before, she had to take a nap right after mowing (she's 76! ). She also said an excruciating knee problem has been cut down to 1/2, and is getting better daily. Did I tell you I get my HA powder from Ted's source, Purebulk? It's cheap, the molecular weight is medium (you simply can't find any low molecular weight HA in powder form ANYWHERE! ) and it's pure. So easy to use. Our first bottles, though, we used an HA powdered capsule that I just opened up and dumped into the bottle (10 of them at 50 mg. Each). More expensive that way.

Lisa, I'm not sure I follow this. You said that Vit C in body acts with any iron running around in there to break down the HA, which is not good but there is Vit C in the mixture.

Right, there is vit. C in the mixture, to act as a preservative. It is a small amount, equaling about 250 mg. Per dose. This dosing info is from Purebulk website, where they tell how to mix it. Go to the site, pull up "hyaluronic Acid" and just read their info. On there. Very enlightening, indeed. But according to the Dr. Who wrote "How to live 100 years without Growing" , Vit. C in the body reacts with any unbound iron that may be in the body to break down HA by becoming a "pro" oxidant, vs. The antioxidant we all understand Vit. C to be. He confirmed (in an email to me) that taking bioflavinoids like Quercetin (which is an iron-binder) will keep this from happening, thus allowing you to reap the benefits of HA AND vit. C at the same time. That's what his book teaches, anyway. And I emailed him to ask him again just to be sure. Just read the book for yourself to glean your own info and understanding of what he explains. The info I gave was what I took away from the book, though, and I have added quercetin to my own supplement regimen. Don't take my word for it, read for yourself, it's always good to come to your own conclusions. For the Dr's website who wrote "... Live 100 Years... ", type in keywords Bill Sardi, and you will find ample info on him and his books. Fascinating guy.

So, about the Vitamin C and HA... Does that mean I should stop taking a vitamin c supplement while I'm taking the HA? And is HA something you continue to take your whole life? I'm just looking to get some relief from the degenerative disk in my neck.

[YEA]   In reply to Ed, yes I tried it and it was very helpful and reasonably priced, however I got tired of mixing it regularly and switched to a hyaluronic acid supplement that contains the following:

Serving Size: 1 vcap
Servings per Container: 120
Sodium (from Sodium Hyaluronate) 10mg
Hyaluronic Acid (from Sodium Hyaluronate) - 100mg
L-Proline - 100mg
Alpha Lipoic Acid -50mg
Grape Seed Extract (Vitis vinifera) (Standardized to min. 90% Total Polyphenols) - 25mg

I started out at three of these per day and have reduced to two per day with results that seem to be as good as, or possibly better than Ted's remedy mix. It is hard to say for certain if it is better than Ted's remedy because, had I stayed on Ted's remedy, I may have continued to improve also.

In any case, I am glad I tried Ted's remedy because it convinced me that HA works. I was already taking a supplement with HA in it, but it was too small of a dose to be of much use. The sea salt in Ted's remedy is also beneficial for other areas of health.

What about an inversion bed? I believe that helps with degenerative disc disease. Doing some butt exercises can help, realigns the hips which helps the neck. I have bulging discs c4,5,6.

*****Please Help! *******

From reading the testimonial here this does indeed seem to an almost miraculous cure for a condition that causes untold misery to millions of people worldwide. My wife has been diagnosed with this terrible condition and is terrible pain. She wants to give this a try. The only place we can get the poweder is in sachet form in health stores here in Ireland. see link--> http://www.hollandandbarrett.ie/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=3523&prodid=3994&cid=250

The product contains 30 sachets X 5ml ???

My question is multi loaded so please bear with me:)

* Is the powder in that link ok?

* What measurement is 500mg of powder..Isn't that half a gram.? That seems very small to put into so much water.

If anyone could clear this up for me, it would be greatly appreciated. I want to get this right first time .

Chris, apologies for delay in replying, we've still got telecommunication issues after the storms so I couldn't reply to you before now. You may have bought the product by now and realize that Syno-vital is actually liquid inside the sachet not powder (unless they've changed it since I took it about 2 years ago). It is the only one available in this country unless you buy via the internet. I can't vouch for its efficiency regarding the bones as it turned out that I needed an operation to cure me of my awful pain. I can tell you that my skin and general well being felt improved enough on 1 sachet per day (as was recommended) for me to take it till I had finished the box). Many days I took a second sachet because I had read that you will naturally eliminate any excess that is not required by the body.

One of my bugbears about this country is that often the diagnoses are clinical rather than investigated via xray and blood tests. In my own case I was left in agony with the diagnosis of Muscle Spasm until I demanded an MRI. Once that had been read by the consultant he wanted to operate immediately even though it was only 2 days to xmas because I was at risk of being paralyzed from structural bone damage. My GP apologised afterwards and explained that they are under instructions from private and public sectors to treat a bad back as just that and not to investigate. Investigation costs whereas painkillers are purchased by the patient themselves. So please (I may be preaching to the converted and if so, I apologise) fight with your doctors until you are fully satisfied with all your efforts that you are on the right road.

Good luck and best wishes to your wife. She is lucky to have you.

Thanks Tricia for your reply,

I realized when we got the sachets that they were in liquid form. I found a great site online, Nukraft, that operates a shop through eBay. I ordered 5 gms of pure hyaulronic acid powder that cost €20 including postage. They sell everything at a fraction of the cost of Holland & Barrett. Sorry to read about your back and hope that you are OK. Thankfully my wife got an x-ray on the recommendation of her doctor and she received the news that several of her lumbar discs are thinning. She is on a course of pain killers and anti inflammatorys. She is feeling the inflammation more but if she sits upright for too long then the pain kicks in. Walking even short distances distances is difficult for her as well. I am still going to give this recipe a try, now that we will be getting the proper powder and see what happens. In the meantime, she has booked an appointment with some guy in Kinnegad called Alan Kane who is supposed to be out of this world. So much so that he gets clients coming over from Britain to book appointments with him. I agree with you about the health service here, it is all geared towards money over the health of the individual. I was thinking my wife might need to get a scan if this doesn't clear up. When you say 'structural bone damage' was that due to wear and tear or as a result of an injury. Is it the same as degenerative disc disease?

Sorry for all those questions, all the best,

Chris.
