[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS] 06/19/2011: Carole from Lady Lake, Fl.: "Yes, I agree, tumeric is the go to but I was advised to take 900 mg a day. This dosage works wonders but be prepared not to sleep at night. It works like an over the counter diet pill. Your brain never shuts down. I am still trying to figure out another dosage that will let me sleep plus work on the pain."
Replies[YEA] 10/27/2011: Satnam from Surrey, Bc replies: "HEAT ONE CUP OF MILK ADD ONE TEASPOON OF HONEY 1/4 TEASPOON OF BUTTER AND ONE TEASPOON OF TURMERIC, MIX IT WELL AND DRINK BEFORE GOING TO BED. IT SHOULD NOT AFFECT YOUR SLEEP."

[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS] 08/16/2010: Carolyn from Lubbock, Tx: "I am a 68 year old female and have had arthritis for several years, mild to severe. I started taking 2 turmeric capsules that equaled 1.44 grams of Turmeric about 6 weeks ago and was amazed at how well it helped my severe arthritis. In about 2 days I felt no arthritis pain. So I continued the Turmeric and was doing good. Then I had some gall bladder problems and digestion problems. After reading that Turmeric can affect the gall bladder, I quit the Turmeric. Can anyone suggest something to take with the Turmeric for this problem? I would really like to continue the Turmeric or maybe I should only take it when I have arthritis problems. Any suggestions will be appreciated."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 10/17/2009: P.R. from Pineville, Nc: "Turmeric for Crohn's disease & Arthritis
I started taking turmeric for arthritis and got my mother who is 69 taking turmeric pills as well, 600 mg per day in one pill. If I run out of pills for longer than 4-5 days my knuckles start hurting and it's hard to bend my index finger. I make sure I don't run out any longer.
My mom has been faithful about taking the turmeric pills and just recently mentioned how she thinks it is helping with her Crohn's disease. She had emergency surgery in 1992 for an obstruction and they removed a large portion of small intestines and colon. It was due to Crohn's disease but they didn't diagnose it until after the surgery.
Since the surgery in 1992, my mom has narrowed down what foods bother her to eat. She cannot digest any kind of fat. Red meats, fried foods, nothing with fat digests and if she eats anything with fat she gets bad diarrhea sometimes all night long.
Since she has been taking the turmeric she has noticed that when she cheats and eats pizza or french fries (knowing full well what she will endure later after eating those fatty foods) she has found that she isn't bothered by the fat now and doesn't get the bad diarrhea.
She does take 2 different over the counter digestive enzyme pills with fattening meals to help digest the fat but she has always taken those pills. But now with taking the turmeric pills she can eat more of what she wants to eat without any of the consequences which is a blessing since she is so thin.
Hope this helps someone else. Reading this site has helped me and my family out tremendously. I encourage everyone to give feedback. You never know when it might help someone."
Replies06/11/2010: Mohayrix from Redneck, California, Usa replies: "As a holistic practitioner for over 35 years I recently did a very thourough research on Turmeric, known as the Holy Spice in the mid east, cheifly India. I have seen great results for arthritis from Hepatitis C, as a topical mixture for sores and cuts and a host of other ailments. Just took my 2nd 00 cap for today. As it is an astrigent it can also detoxify the body as I have observed with my patients. It is worth studying and there are scientific studies showing the efficacy of Turmeric on several conditions with little interaction with other treatments. I am with you and will take this for the rest of my earthly life. 500 billion blessings of health to all who read this."
06/12/2010: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "I have been interested in turmeric for a while but have difficulty finding good books. One I ordered from Amazon wasn't worth the effort and they don't seem to have any good ones. If I understood well you take capsules. Is it just a good to add it to your food? I try to do that because capsules will be more expensive anyway. I don't have arthritis or anything but as turmeric seems to be good for detoxifying. I thought that it would be a good addition to our meals."
05/16/2012: Lug from Calgary, Alberta, Canada replies: "I'm looking for some good remedy for gout, which does not have side effects for high blood preasure too. As my mother, who is 80, is suffering from both of these diseases. She is taking black cherry juice extract which is really very good, but I want to know if she can take turmeric."

[YEA] 01/07/2008: Linda from Eugene, OR: "I just want to thank the people who set up this website. I was experiencing painful arthritis in both shoulders and I found your site and read about using Turmeric. That was several weeks ago and now I can truly say that taking the Turmeric has changed everything! The pain is nearly gone. I still have some slight discomfort, but nothing like I was going through before the Turmeric. I am praising God for His wonderful herbs and for inspiring all of the folks who write in with their testimonies. I take two 400 mg capsules three times a day and one 500 mg ginger capsule 3 times a day. This site is the best!!! Plus, I have contacted several people on the site who were so helpful and responded with great advice and encouragement. Health and blessings to all."

[YEA] 12/31/2007: Charles from Saint Cloud, Florida: "I started taking turmeric powder about 2 and a half years ago, after seeing on a famous news show that it was one of the main ingredients in a pill that was able to reduce your antioxidant level to zero. I did a little research and saw there was little Alzhiemers in India, where it is a big part of the diet. I was having a bit of a memory problem at the time. Anyways, after about 3 months of taking a tablespoon a day, I noticed my shoulder pain went away. My doctor had said he could do nothing for it, as it was arthitis and that he had it also. Now I notice that I don't seem too concern about memory and I have regained some interest in reading articles. I have had several, 3, cases of skin cancer in the last year, hopefully its due to the years of living in a tropical climate. I tried to stop taking it a couple of times to see what would happen and my shoulder pain seem to start to come back. So apparently it did not cure it but stopped the pain and I am now able to shoot basketball or any other activity. I put it in water and stir it up and swallow the half a cup very quickly as I do not like the taste. I order it 5 pounds at a time and keep a 10 pound supply on hand. Be careful it stains things yellow."
Replies08/31/2008: Pat from Hartsville, SC replies: "I would like to purchase tumeric in bulk form for arthritis. Where is this available? Since the news came out with the warning that many supplements purchased online contain lead and undesirable fillers, what is a recommended site to purchase supplements?"
EC: It really depends on the brand. Whole Foods seems to do great research before they'll supply supplements in their store. Unfortunately they don't sell supplements online. GNC's own line of supplements, on the other hand, contain plenty of fillers. For example, their turmeric capsules have 2 filler ingredients, one of which may render it completely useless! Read our comments here: http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/boils.html#WARNING
09/01/2008: Angie from Sparta, MO replies: "Hello Pat, you can buy your turmeric in bulk, plus other spices&herbs from mountainroseherbs.com
I buy almost all my herbs&spices from them."

[YEA] 06/21/2007: Aaron from Cape Coral, Florida: "I tried the TURMERIC remedy for boils about 4 days ago, initially with little hope it would work, but in a state of desperation, since this was my THIRD boil in less than 6 weeks, and I had 2 more starting! I went out as soon as I finished reading all of the testimonials on your site, and bought a bottle of Turmeric capsules from my local GNC. That night I took three 500mg caps with dinner, and another 4 capsules before going to bed. (If a teaspoon is good, a tablespoon is better!) The next morning the boil on my stomach, which was a dark purple golf ball radiating excruciating pain the night before, was now a light purple golf ball that was starting to drain, and the pain had gone down by 80 to 90%!
In addition, one of the new boils that was just starting, (a tiny painful pimple,) started to heal, and the other one, slightly larger, while it didn't go away, it stopped growing, and with 72 hours it too drained (really like a normal pimple, only thicker discharge and more painful.)
It's now been about 4 days, and while the large boil is still draining (the core came out yesterday) and is still very tender, it is healing and no other boils are starting.
BUT!
The big BONUS is this: The arthritis in my shoulder that I've been suffering with for the last year, is gone, and even more exciting, I have been dealing with Heal Spurs (Plantar Fasciitis) for about 2 years, and have been suffering TREMENDOUS pain in my foot, every day, all day.
Within 24 hours of taking the Turmeric, my feet have COMPLETELY stopped hurting!!!I plan to continue taking at least one capsule a day indefinitely as a preventative for recurring boils, and as an apparent remedy for my Heal Spurs!!! The real miracle here is that I don't even believe in natural remedies! Thanks so much for the great advice!!!"

[YEA] Reem from Karachi, Pakistan: "I have used turmeric as a joint pain remedy and it has always worked for me. I usually take 1 tsp in hot milk and it relieves all forms of body pains, joint pains."
Replies09/08/2011: Riki E. from Airmont, Ny, Usa replies: "The TURMERIC you mention is it the one we buy in supermarket to use on food, (powder) or is it the capsules one finds at the vitamin shop?"
09/08/2011: Gavin from Manganui, Northland, New Zealand replies: "I personaly use the one from the supermarket. Same for the cayenne.. But I get the fresh root ginger, in the veggie department of the supermarket. I've been chopping up about a square inch of the ginger , and giving it a quick stirfry in the wok... but if you steep it start of with boiling water and leave for at least 12 hours 24 makes for an even better brew. The three are cumulative for backpain. If you stir fry the ginger you might as well throw some garlic in as well."
09/09/2011: Lily from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia replies: "Hi Riki, both the Turmeric in the powder form in the spice section and the capsule's are both the turmeric this site is referring too. Lily."
10/06/2011: Riki E. from Airmont, Ny, Usa replies: "Thank you Lily, and Gavin for the feedback."

[YEA] 06/04/2008: Pat from Tupelo, Mississippi: "I have an arthritic knee with chondromalcia patella. It was really bothering me one night at bedtime so i rubbed coconut oil on first around my knee then a few drops of oregano oil. Within five minutes my knee pain was gone. This is wonderful stuff."

[YEA] 12/11/2007: Mary from West Columbia, SC: "Pain and inflammation, due to arthritis, bursitis, overworked muscles or plantar fasciitis respond beautifully to oil of wild oregano, applied topically. I highly recommend it, both as a user and as a registered nurse. I have suffered for five years with severe pain in my feet, both knees and right hip. I have done cortisone shots, anti-inflammatory drugs, orthotics, and endless pain meds. I take ACV, which does improve mobility overall. For true pain relief, however, the oil of wild oregano is the only way to go! It can be mixed - 6-10 drops to one tablespoon of olive oil and rubbed into the affected area as many times a day as you wish. On the soles of my feet, I use it full strength as the skin in that part of the body is much thicker. I noticed a decrease of pain and improved mobility after the initial application. Within 3 days, I was virtually pain free! Oil of wild oregano has many of the same properties as morphine and works almost instantly. It is available at some health food stores and on the web. Be sure you purchase pure oil of wild oregano. It is worthwhile to try this for any chronic pain. Good luck!"

YELLOW DOCK TEA
05/18/2010: Donald from Houston, Texas: "Dear Sir: I noticed my article on the curing power of Yellow Dock Tea for arthritis sufferers has been deleted. This herb has helped the person that cares for my 92 year old dad in Louisiana. It has done so well that now she will soon be taken off of the medicine. This is a disservice for many who suffer from arthritis. I would like for you to reinstall that article."
EC: Hi Donald,
We never received an article on arthritis. However, here is your post on Yellow Dock for diabetes. http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/diabetes4.html#YD. Feel free to post a new feedback for arthritis.
