Hi,

I just started oil pulling last night. I can say the my mouth has never felt cleaner. I am using Safflower oil. I haven't been able to find coconut oil yet. I am planning on trying it for a mouth to see if there is a really big difference. Then I am going to tell my daughter about it.

why can't you spit the oil in the kitchen sink when you're done with oil pulling?

Castor Oil

After reading about oil pulling on this site, I decided to give it a try to see if it would stop the recurring boils I was having. The only cold-pressed oil I could find was castor oil, so that's what I've been using for two weeks. I am happy to report no more boils! I hope it stays that way! I know everyone says to use turmeric for boils, but I've tried it, and it didn't get rid of them. My four year old son also has recurring boils- he's had them ever since he was 1- I wonder if I can teach him how to OP.

The other marvelous result I just realized a couple days ago. I have no more body odour! This is amazing, b/c I had it bad. Tried everything to keep it under control- strong deoderants, natural ones, ACV, vodka, baking soda, essential oils... If this good result keeps up, I will OP the rest of my life!!

My teeth have felt very clean, but I can't say they've gotten any whiter. My teeth are have always been yellow, although I don't drink tea, coffee, wine or anything. I will try to find some sesame oil, maybe that will make a difference.

Amazing remedy, to be sure.

I wouldn't recommend it. I would wait until the new piercing is good and healed before starting oil pulling.

Quick question: can I still pull oil with a new lip piercing? Thanks.

There are several excellent books on coconut oil which you may like to read. In the meantime take one tablespoon of coconut oil and put in in your mouth. Swish it around your mouth energetically pulling it through the gaps in your teeth. Do this for twenty minutes. At the end of the time spit it out in your rubbish bin, and not down the plughole in your basin. Put a teaspoon of sea or rock salt in a mug and add half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda [baking soda I think in the States], and add hot water, as hot as you can stand. Thoroughly swill this around your mouth and spit out and repeat. Repeat the above twice a day if possible. It may seem impossible at first to swish for twenty minutes, but believe me it will only take a short time to get to twenty minutes. Happy oil pulling.

I've read with interest about oil pulling, which I have never heard of before. The testimonials sound impressive, the only problem is that there is no mention of HOW to do it effectively. I am at a loss here! Please advise!

I've never heard about crowns being affected by oil pulling (OP). You should be okay: Just build up to more than a few minutes of OP (ideally 15-20 minutes), and you'll notice the positive effects of OP even more.

I just found this website yesterday and it's wonderful. As you can imagine the information is overwhelming and soooo interesting. I saw a post from a woman who stated she had relief from a breast discharge due to a lump and that the OP helped. Today I've searched and searched and cannot find that post again. If anyone has any feedback on the subject I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

I did the OP for the first time this morning with VCO, I could only keep it in my mouth for just a few minutes. I'd really like to work up to doing this for a much longer period of time because it felt so good after I was done at such a short time. But, I have crowns on most of my teeth. Should I be concerned about them possibly falling off if I do the OP? Any help with this will be very appreciated. Thank you EC for so much wonderful information.

Safflower Oil

Hi - Tried oil pulling a while ago but didn't have much wrong with me so only found the benefit of whiter teeth. A couple of years ago I went to my dentist about a bad taste in my mouth - he said he couldn't see anything wrong but gargle with mouth wash. I did try this but it didn't really work. Since then my tooth is very sensitive to cold and hot things and I have been restricted to eating on one side of mouth. Its been like this for well over a year and I have been thinking I must go to the dentist (but didn't really want to).

Anyhow bought some Safflower oil the other day and started to oil pull in the mornings. I have only done this for 3 days and I can now eat on both sides and don't have a problem with hot or cold. I normally don't believe people when they say "Oh yes it was amazing" but here I go "Yes it was amazing, and I'm telling the truth". I'm so happy I don't have to go to the dentist. I think I'm always going to oil pull now. NB A few of my friends have been put off oil pulling because of the 20 mins - but if you keep busy instead of waiting for the 20 mins to be up you find it actually flies by. Hope this helps someone. Jules

Speaking as a traditional healer, these ulcerations are a healthy immune function to remove sick, dying and dead tissue and blood from your head via the oil pulling it out. It is the way the body works, surgically, and is perfectly normal and good. Otherwise these situations could come to a head as cancers or other very serious medical conditions in the future. You are instinctively doing the right thing. If you experience it again. Drink at least one gallon to two gallons of water per day to help flush it out and if you are only pulling once a day with the oil you may want to increase it at these times two or three times per day...

hi, ive been oil pulling now for 5 days with pure coconut oil, finding this quite hard to do, I only last 5 minutes, when I spit it out, it is white but runny, when I do spit the oil out, straight away I start coughing, and bring up loads of rubbish of my chest, but have noticed my chest clear, and my face brighter and smoother, I just hope it is healing my gums, every day I check my gums, just to see if there is a little improvement, as the gaps from my gum to my teeth look terrible, nothing up to now, not sure when I will see any improvement, but I will let u know. ill keep oil pulling.

I have been oil pulling for almot a week now and today I have noticed my stools are very light in color. Not quite white, but light tan. I understand how the gall bladder works, do I have a blockage in the ducts?

Diamond, personally I like to use Unrefined organic coconut oil because it has a pleasant taste; it's a "healthy" oil; and because it is antifungal and actibacterial. I figure that it will clear the bacteria in my mouth if it does nothing else.

I am really confused about all these oils. What make do I get, plus does it say on the bottle refined or unrefined. organic or not, plus is it make that u fry your chips with or am I looking at a different oil, I am totally confused. Everyone keeps saying what oil they are using, sunflower, coconut etc, its for gingivitis... If I dont do something soon im gonna lose my 4 front teeth. I bought some sea salt today gonna use that everyday to see what happens. Any feed back please.
