Ted's Famous Alkalizing Remedies

A couple of weeks ago (after checking my urinary ph, which was highly acidic), I started on Ted's Lemon and Bicarbonate formula. I found that it took only about a teaspoon of lemon juice and a pinch (estimating 1/8 teaspoon) of sodium bicarb to get my pH to an alkaline state, which is much less lemon juice than what Ted recommends. The first week taking the Lemon Formulas was fantastic, no problems. However, last week when I drank the formula I felt my blood pressure rise dramatically. I don't have a device at home to measure BP, so I don't know how much it went up, but I felt odd enough to stop drinking the formula. So others, be forewarned that the high sodium content of baking soda can affect your BP. Instead of baking soda, I am now finding that juicing veggies and adding dark greens like kale or spinach once or twice a day is even better at alkalizing urinary pH. Adding cabbage (purple or green, either one) is also great for alkalzing, but gives me intense stomach pain (gas, I guess).

I have been struggling to raise my urine PH for purposes of following a cancer protocol. I take the lemon/baking soda 3x daily and sometimes middle of the night hoping it will reduce pain. Since I cannot seem to get my levels up very far I was looking for solutions online and came across these articles: http://www.quackwatch.com/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/DSH/coral2.html

Has anyone here addressed this yet??? I am no Chemist, but the rationale here seems logical.

EVIL?

Yes. The "Quackbuster Conspiracy" was started shortly after the American Medical Association (AMA) lost the court battle to the Chiropractors in a case begun in Federal court in 1976. The Federal judge ordered the AMA's covert operation shut down - and leave the Chiropractors alone. The AMA files, library, etc. , ended up in Stephen Barrett's 1, 800 square foot basement in Allentown, PA. Barrett, and his minions, had the common sense to stay away from criticizing Chiropractors for quite some time. Barrett has since abandoned that common sense. ---------------------

Can you mix a batch of the lemon, baking soda for the week? My daughter has done the shots etc. Nothing has worked. She has had this since she started school-5 yrs. old. Back then product worked, now nothing is working and she is almost bald.

I have achlorhydria... No stomach acid at all. I started taking the lime/baking soda mixture once in the morning and once at night along with calcium/mag supplement and a multivitamin. I started to burp a little bit throughout the day. I"m not sure if this is a good sign or a bad one? Is this a sign that I'm starting to make my own stomach acid? or what does that mean?

Have you considered taking BETAINE HCL instead ? When the body produces stomach acid it should not cause you to burp. You are probably burping because you have swallowed air during a meal. If you burp too frequently after a meal then that is not normal.

★★★★☆

Hi there, I have been on Ted's alkalizing protocol for 3 weeks now. The more I read about his symptoms the more I find them similar. I have had candida symptoms for over 15 years, eczema, stomach bloating, dry mouth, white tongue, burning acid in mouth after eating most of the foods. I also developed some eczema on my penis recently. In addition over the last couple of years my muscles started shrinking to the point that I was not able to walk. I am out of work and tried many, many protocols. Last 3 weeks have basically changed my life. I did two things: One: I take 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon of sodium carbonate (washing soda - a precursor of sodium bicarbonate) and 1/4 potassium citrate in at least 1/2 glass of water taken two times a day. Two: I am on a very specific Candida diet (search Bee's Candida diet) high in good fats (220-250g), protein (60gr) and carbs mostly from veggies I eat (60gr) I am 178cm tall and weight is 80kg. I am also getting ready to introduce borax which I am getting to Australia from USA (hard to find but I managed to get it delivered here). My changes after 3 weeks on the above are as following:

1.) My candida/eczema on my penis gone after 3 weeks and I do not get it irritated so easily anymore. I actually tried irritating it over the last few days but nothing happens. Usually I would get redness and itch would start after a while if I did not use a cream or aloe Vera. Not any more.

2.) For 3 weeks almost everyday I noticed white, cloudy urine. Initially I did not know what it was but after a while I realized it was Candida. How I know? well, after the first experience with cloudy urine I got an outbreak of a pretty bad eczema on my penis. Later I learned to keep it very clean after each time I urinated. Now, after three weeks no more itch, redness, eczema anything.. Clean and strong.

3.) I started walking again, wow! . Walking has not been an issue for so long but it scared me. I had mostly upper back issue (left side trap) to the point I could no longer type at work, so I took sick leave and I can tell you that it will take me months to get back to work. I am convinced that my diet and mostly alkalizing protocol helped to bring the muscle to balance. I still have a long way to go but it is working. Together with my diet I use basic supplements suggested by Bee Candida diet such as: calcium and magnesium citrate (equal amounts), East Flakes (vit B great source), vit C (makes me to go too much), lots of coconut oil and cod olive oil for fat source, vit E 400 once per per day. It is suggested that all foods are organic but I cannot afford it yet. I eat about 200g beef per day. I have terribly dry face skin and lots of eczema outbreaks allover. I manage to control it but it really wants to get out. I hope Borax will help. I feel very dry, my skin is very, very dry. One more interesting thing I noticed is that Candida gets worse a week before the full moon. I had Candida for almost 15 years and only last 5 I knew it was it. I noticed through my suffering that the cycle is always the same: two weeks before the full moon I get worse, eczema gets out, then two weeks after the full moon everything heals, body gets strong and fights eczema. It took me a lot of time to learn all these and try many things but here I am on the way to the recovery. I read peoples comments who recovered from many issues just applying that diet. Apparently high fat (good fat) diet is a miracle itself.

Okay, now I have a few questions:

Does anyone managed to get Borax in Australia (I got it but shipping is very expensive)

Also, I manage my burning sensation in my mouth by drinking Myrrh Tincture from Pure herbs in USA. Trust me you must get that brand or do not bother. I tried many but only this one is the one that works for whatever that is causing the burning sensation. I drink 20 drops 3 times a day. I started taking Myrrh only after I developed dry mouth after my last stupid antibiotics treatment in 2005 (that is when I really got serious Candida and started learning). Sometimes I think I have a bug and Myrrh helps to keep it under control, as soon as I stop drinking it the burning comes back. I tried using it in my colonics (at that time I did not know I had it in my small colon) and burned up my colon badly (did colonoscopy) - almost recovered but took 4 months. So, Myrrh is good but not strong enough to get access all the organs. Perhaps it only works in the first part of intestine and that is why it helps with burning. On the other hand I am worrying that it could be another bug. I really cleaned up Candida by urinating but this has not had any affect on the burning after eating. Not sure what that means. Again, on the other hand, when I tool lamisil tablets for a weeks it cleaned up the burning sensation and white tongue in a week. (I stopped using it due to huge eczema outbreak on my face). Perhaps I need to be patient and wait until my protocol gets to the problem that causes the indigestion issue. For now I keep drinking Myrrh tincture to help with my digestion. Oh, I tried enzymes (I learned a lot about them) but it did not work at all, only Myrrh works (good it is not so expensive).

Suggestions welcome, Robert

Hi Robert.... Much congratulations on doing so well with your fight with candida. When I had candida 4 years ago and got rid of it using Ted's protocols, I also had eczma and psoriasis amongst many other symptoms. What I found was that virtually all my yeast/fungal symptoms -- including the psoriasis and eczma -- just disappeared altogether when the candida disappeared. I notice that you are using myrrh for your burning mouth. As a suggestion, please have a look at Ted's Oral Detoxificaltion at this link here: https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/oral_detoxification.html" target="_blank. I have used these oral detoxification remedies and they are very effective yet cheap.

I would also completely agree with you about Ted's alkalizing remedies. I mainly took the lemon/lime remedy with 1/2 tspn of BS 3 times a day. I was quite aggressive with my protocol but I never had any problems or sensitivities with this dose. (I weigh about 100 kilos)

Your indigestion issue may be due to lack of Hydrochloric acid in the stomach, so it might be worth it to take Betaine Hydrochloride tablets or 6 drops HCL in a glass of water just before you eat to aid stomach digestion. Take Protease Enzymes at the same time. Is the indigestion in your stomach or intestines? If it's in the intestines -- you may be lacking pancreatic bicarbonates to neutralize the stomach chyme in the duodenum, so you can try taking just 1/4 to 1/2 tspn of plain sodium bicarbonate(Baking Soda) in a half glass of water about an hour after you've eaten -- after the food has already moved from you stomach into the duodenum -- which should be alkaline to neutral for your main second stage digestion to work.

Regarding the purchase of Borax in Australia, I've read that Bunnings Hardware(probably other hardware shops sell it too) sells it -- see this link here -- https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/borax5.html#AUSTRALIA. They sell Borax in the laundry isle where the cleaning products are kept. Costs about $11 for a 1 Kgm tub of Borax.

Hi Bill,
Thank you for your answer. This website is really something. Ted has a great knowledge and experience, thanks Ted. Bill, I am happy that you managed to get over it. Can you tell me what exactly you did apart from lemon/lime and BS and how long it took you. I am convinced that my eczema, dandruff and everything I experienced is Candida. I feel that my body is very strong but something is just not allowing it to function properly. Did you use Borax during your treatment? I am so happy seeing my results in the lower part of my body but my my upper body is very dry, my face is so simply affected by eczema and unless I use some creams I keep getting back. Also, is there a way to contact people directly through their emails? I can only hope that you will find my message and answer it. I am so sick of big pharmacy and angry with them for all the antibiotics I was given. Robert

Hi Bill,

Thank for your feedback. My Candida is quite stubborn. I tried using Lugol's the other day and noticed that my burning sensation after drinking cold or eating a meal is down. I could feel some movements at my usual intestine level (where major Candida is) but then Lugol's did not work anymore. That is what usually was happening after using other anti fungals. I know it got resistant so I will try another antifungal - the Methylene Blue. I am keeping my body clean by drinking Borax (3 days per week) and carbicarb. I strongly believe that Carbicarb keeps my intestine and salivary PH at the right level and stops Candida from spreading around. I wish I new that earlier, I could avoid many problems.

I have a few other questions. Over the last 3 years I developed quite serious muscle issues. Considering that I have Candida in the intestine I believe I have washed out all nutrients from my body. My muscles have shrunk and I started having weakness and pain in my legs if I walk too much. Is there anything I could do to help that muscle weakness recovery apart form what I am already doing? My diet is okay (I think) 70-80% good fat some carbs (buckwheat) and a veggies. Will appreciate your feedback.

Hi Robert... Regarding your muscle weakness issues in your legs, this could be due to imbalances in your main body electrolytes -- Calcium, Sodium, Magnesium and Potassium. Usually people's body electrolytes these days are high in calcium(acidifying) and low in magnesium and potassium. You can read about the importance of particularly potassium in this comment stream here:https://www.earthclinic.com/supplements/potassium.html#SIDEEFFECTS

Therefore taking Fulvic/humic acid or sea salt should help to alleviate this due to mineral content. Also, if you're not already doing so, try taking the citrate forms of sodium and potassium in your Carbicarb remedy if you can instead of the bicarbonate forms -- citrates tend to alkalize the inner cell environment more and will therefore help to oxygenate your cells(giving you more energy).

When I had candida I took mainly the simple lemon/lime plus Baking Soda form of the remedy and took it 3 times a day without fail and this drink mainly forms citrates and ascorbates which are very alkalizing. I also took the ACV plus baking soda remedy -- this forms malates which are also useful for energy like the citrates(but not so alkalizing as citrates).

I would also consider taking Vitamin C(as Sodium Ascorbate) with magnesium chloride or magnesium citrate, since this will also properly help to balance the calcium and potassium in your cells and tissues. Take at least 2-3 grams of Vit C daily with at least 250 mgs magnesium twice a day.

The methylene blue should also have positive effect on your energy as well.

Muscle pain and weakness are common side effects of statins, like Lipitor. Are you taking a statin to lower your cholesterol?

Interesting info to read:

Extract: methylene blue (MB) concentrations of 450 and 500 %u03BCg/mL totally eradicated Candida albicans from the oral cavity, resulting in reductions from 2. 5 log10 and 2. 74 log10 to 0, respectively. These results suggest that MB-mediated photodynamic therapy can potentially be used to treat oral candidiasis in immunodeficient patients

Hi Bill, Mary,

I do not take any statin. I agree Bill, my electrolytes are out of balance. I lost most of my trapezes muscle due to bad diet and overuse at work. For almost 3 years my diet was lacking 90% magnesium, sodium, and 100% potassium. I had no idea what to eat and survived on 300g buckwheat and 1-2kg meat per day no fruits or veggies. Although meat was okay I ate too much carbs (even though it was buckwheat). Thanks Bill for advice, I believe I am doing the right thing with my carbicarb. I noticed some improvement over the last 2 weeks in my legs. I have however pretty big problem with improving my PH in saliva. My urine is above 7. I tried taking more potassium but it barely helping. My carbicarb is 1/4 SB, SC, and 1/2 teaspoon potassium citrate. If I lower potassium my ph is really acidic, but even with higher potassium the PH of my upper body is below 7. Any idea what else to do? I think I simply need to wait and things will get better. Also, Is is okay to add lime to carbicarb solution? I could not find any comments on about it. I hate the taste!!! Blee, , ,

Once again, thanks for listening. By the way, my face and hair are sooooooo much better. I do not get this oily skin and hair anymore. I still have dandruff but people! It is so much better. My upper part of my body is so acidic. I know now that once I get this alkaline my eczema will never come back. Last week I started shaving regularly and noticed my face really getting better, all the marks after eczema outbreaks are healing, almost gone. Can't believe it, miracle people, miracle.... I have had to fight it with many different things over last 15 years, after 1 week of Carbicarb things just changed. I simply know I got better but the bug is still there. It will take me some some to overcome 15 years of infection. Robert

Hi Robert... If you are taking carbicarb plus magnesium as recommended then this should be sufficient to bring your saliva and intracellular pH into alkaline. The one problem left could be in your diet. You have a high carb diet, and I have no idea how much calcium you are ingesting every day. I mention this because if you are taking in very large amounts of calcium then this is bad. Also check if your buckwheat is fortified with calcium. If it is, then eat more simple veggies and less buckwheat. All our food and grains -- milk, cheese, cornflakes, wheat, flour etc -- are over-fortified with excess calcium these days -- way too much. This excess calcium will acidify your cells and tissues and may well be what's causing your leg problems. You could also keep increasing your doses of magnesium until you get loose stools, then drop the dose back a little and continue the higher dose for a week or two to offset the excess calcium. This will work to balance/remove any excess calcium in your body and work to alkalize your saliva properly. But perhaps the real problem is diet.

Might also be an idea to get a simple hair analysis done -- this will tell you what minerals, heavy metals and halogens you might have in excess or are short of in your body -- this analysis doesn't cost much and it may well provide a better pointer to your problems.

Hi Bill,

As always, thanks for ur feedback. A few hours before reading your response I drunk magnesium itself without taking calcium (as I always do) and my legs pain was gone within 20 seconds! I was actually able to go for quite a long walk. I was shocked! ?. Of course the idea of too much calcium was from this website, I read about it under fibromyalgia comments. I started worrying that I have fibromyalgia as the muscle weakness started in the upper body and now my legs. But it look like it was all due to my bad diet (which I hoped for). You are right I was eating lots of carbs and meat for almost 4 years (50/50). I was low on most of nutrients and vitamins, I checked that on this Calorie Counter website. For almost 4 years I was receiving from my diet 40% of potassium, magnesium and calcium, almost 20% Vit E and so on. Now my diet is much better (70% of good fat oils etc, 10% carbs and rest protein). For the last few weeks I was also taking 500mg calcium citrate with 500 mg magnesium citrate plus carbicarb. I realized after reading many comments from you and Ted that calcium could be a problem. It worked. There is only one thing I cant understand. A few months ago I was taking lots of magnesium in pills (Magnesium as oxide and as sulfate dried) about 500mg daily but it did not really work on a long run. My diet was bad at that time and probably that is why the magnesium itself did not work well. I could feel it flowing through my blood, thinning my blood but the stiffness would still be there. I was missing something more - maybe it was potassium! ?. Anyway, now I am taking everything and less calcium. I see how I go. Will do the hair analysis to see what is happening. I did blood work but all was good, not very accurate I guess. I read somewhere that if you have pain in the left side it is calcium deficiency if right magnesium. I have developed a lot of weakness in the left upper back (trap muscle) to the point where I can no longer sit without feeling weakness but it look like it is due to my bad diet. I wish I found that website earlier. One more question, is it okay to add lime to the carbicarb? Also, should I take magnesium with carbicarb or with food? Could not find anything regarding magnesium intake on the web.

Hi Robert... And many congratulations and well done to you for achieving so much in such a short time!! One of the hardest things is to change the habit of a lifetime -- eating habits. I did this too, I would have done anything to get rid of my candida -- and I did -- like you I changed my beloved eating habits. Made one heck of a difference, much healthier now. I'm not a vegetarian, I do not regard this as a natural diet for many reasons, but I am very careful about eating ANY processed food now -- this is the true enemy. Any food that has been constructed using chemicals unnatural to my body I avoid.

In answer to your questions:

One more question, is it okay to add lime to the carbicarb?

I would keep the lime/lemon with BS and carbicarb remedies seperate. I myself take the lemon/lime and baking soda remedy more often than the carbicarb remedy. I took the lemon/lime remedy three times a day with 1/2 tspn of BS when I had candida. This is my own favourite way of alkalizing which suited me best -- it creates citrates and ascorbates and satisfies many parameters. I take the carbicarb remedy if I feel I need stronger alkalization or if I can't sleep, if I've eaten or drunk something I shouldn't -- after all it's very hard to avoid chemically processed food now, and I enjoy eating out with friends -- and I have no idea how much processed food I am eating in some strange restaurant. Therefore, my way is constantly defensive now, I always alkalize after a situation like this or if I've had one over the top. Life wouldn't be much fun otherwise... LOL.

Also, should I take magnesium with carbicarb or with food?

No, never take alkalizing remedies with food, this will upset your acid stomach digestion. But it's OK to add magnesium to the carbicarb remedy, it won't interfere. Take these remedies at least one hour before meals or two hours after meals. I also always take minerals or vitamin outside mealtimes because if you take them with meals you lose 1/3 through intestinal excretion. In other words you will absorb more minerals and water soluble vitamins(like Vit C) if you take them outside mealtimes. The exceptions to this rule are Vitamins A, D & E which are oils and therefore best taken with food for proper digestion.

Regarding magnesium -- I now take magnesium transdermally mostly through the skin because I find this is easier. Using Magnesium Sulphate(Epsom Salts) or Magnesium Chloride -- these are very absorbable through the skin. Also, you can absorb far larger amounts of magnesium this way than supplementing -- because there are no intestinal problems to worry about -- it goes straight through the skin into the blood. I now use an ordinary small garden flower sprayer loaded with 3 tablespoons of epsom salts or mag chloride and, after showers, just spray it all over my body front and back and leave it to be absorbed. You will take in more magnesium this way than through the intestines for sure. You can also target and spray weak and sore areas of your back this way which will perhaps more effectively target and solve your problems quicker than ingesting magnesium. Cheaper too.

If you want to really target your sore/weak areas directly -- you can do this topically using Magnesium Oil. Although you can buy Mag Oil, I normally create my own -- all you need is magnesium chloride crystals and water. The mixture consists of 70%-80% mag chloride crystals plus 20%-30% water by volume. The dissolved mixture will feel oily. Rub this topically onto your painful/weak body areas for rapid transdermal absorbtion and you should feel the benefits very quickly. And if you like, you can also supplement with this Mag oil outside mealtimes -- 10 drops a day in a glass of water or juice.

Bill,

I have no words that can describe how happy I am to find this website. Truly life changing experience. A few clarifications regarding my remedies and its effect.

1. You are 100% correct about Calcium/Magnesium problem. Since I started taking Magnesium my body grows like bread! Muscle going back to normal flexibility etc. I will buy the magnesium chloride and get the mixture to target these sore areas. Thank you for your advice. Taking it internally really gets me going to the toilet too much.

2. I also want to tell you that your are more than correct about the Lime/lemon with BS. carbicarb is not doing the job with Candida as much as BS with Lime for me. I noticed my skin going back to oily and Candida coming out through my skin again. As soon as I changed back to BS and Lime everything went back to they way it should be. I must say my gut feeling was telling me that this is the solution I needed, again I did not listen to my gut:-). Lemon does not work as good as lime either, amazing mate, amazing. I only hope it will stay that way, I know my body is getting better. Also, after what you have been through I can see I have a chance for a permanent improvement. It looks like we have been through a very similar experience.

As for DIET!! Ha ha, when I read your comments I was laughing, I so feel you mate! I just watched Jamie's Oliver kitchen and what the guy is trying to do in USA etc, God bless him. It is hard, especially to give up bread, I still cheat from time to time and get a bite here and there. Okay, I run to get some magnesium and fix my already better muscles. I caused a lot of muscle pulling I only hope it is not damaged too much and I will be able to go back to work soon. I lost all savings already, my Doctor signed a disability form to help me to pay my bills. He will be surprised when I go back to see him in a month.

By the way, do you know any good remedy for irritated colon? As I mentioned before I used myrrh a lot, I also used in in enema once and irritated my intestine in 2 places, I did colonoscopy and saw it red. I feel pain when food moves in those areas. It healed a bit and then I took lemon, Borax and some myrrh again and irritated it with one of these supplements. Now I only take BS and lime and it is better. One thing for sure Bill, I have never felt the way I feel now. I wonder what it will be like to remember things, I feel like I have Alzheimers. It has always been like that, at school mostly. Only recently I realized why. Pity that Doctors do not get it. I can only imagine how many diseases simple BS/lime can fix. My entire family has Candida issue, but I wait to fix myself and then give them the good news. Last one thing, the white discharge after taking BS or other Ted's solution is Sodium (I think). I read about this on the Gerson forum. His idea of diseases is caused by imbalance of sodium and potassium in body's cell. He talks a lot about it and lots of sodium being pushed out through urine when taking Potassium supplements. God bless you all... Robert

Hi Robert... Regarding your sore colon, I've found the best for this to be Cat's Claw and/or Tumeric. Cat's Claw, like tumeric, is an amazingly protective herb for the whole intestine. Tumeric is specifically useful and protective for the colon, and also has wonderful effects on the skin. I use both now(I eat curries which contains tumeric as well as many other useful herbs) and I find that Cat's Claw keeps my bowel movements very regular now. Both are very gastro-protective, about as good as it gets for me. These two herbs are also significantly anticancer and anti-candida as well.

Your revelation of others in your family who have candida is also interesting. Remember that candida and other auto-immune diseases can be caused by where you live, as much as by diet. I remember a story that Ted relates about a large Thai family who all lived in a house in Bangkok. All the family had various forms of cancer, and where they lived was heavily infested with fungal infestations such as black mold. It wasn't their diet that was so much causing the cancer -- the black fungal mold spores were the real cause. Worth bearing in mind.

Funny what you say about Jamie Oliver. I watch him too... And I just drool!! ... LOL.

I used to have problems remembering stuff too, but after I started taking lugol's iodine, my memory seemed to come back. I was taking 2-4 drops of lugols whose effect seems to be to sharpen the mind. I normally just add the lugol drops to my daily dose of Ascorbic Acid(powder dissolved in water with sodium bicarb added -- converts it to the more alkaline ascorbates) -- The Ascorbic Acid converts all the iodine to iodide and you don't taste the iodine. Also, I've read from some research that when you take iodine together with vitamin c(megadose) this way, then the Ascorbic acid is converted to something called Dehydroascorbic acid. The latter has exactly the same properties as Ascobic acid and is also a valuable antioxidant -- except that the Dehydroascorbic acid can penetrate the blood/brain barrier easily whereas ascorbic acid cannot. Hence the benefit to the brain. I'm sure taking daily iodine with ascorbic acid this way will help with the forgetfulness and memory loss -- but it will take a couple of months to repair. Methylene Blue is also another good remedy that Ted recommends for Alzheimer's, and is also worth taking.

Hi Robert from Sidney,

I was much struck by your reference to the moon cycle - I have noticed the same cycle in dogs. It reaches its zenith on the full moon and recedes like a tsunami wave leaving behind a little more despair and destruction.

Your symptom description corresponds almost exactly to the syphilitic miasm in homeopathy. I've included Kent's description from a website http://www.homeoint.org/books3/kentwrit/writ45.htm if you'd care to read it. Do ignore it if it doesn't correspond!

The miasm is a wretched one and so easily acquired by contact or inherited.

Hi,

Measurements of my salivary and urinary pH have shown to be consistently alkaline. I'm not sure what exactly my saliva pH is but urinary is in the range of 7. 5-8. 0. Recently, I tried Ted's alkalizing recipes for a few days, and had a breakout of perioral dermatitis - don't think its related but just wanted to mention it. I also noticed that my skin is having some problems - red bumps under the eyes, little bumps on my hands, small raised bumps (regular skin color) on different places throughout my body. I've also always dealt with a skin condition on my hands and feet where the top skin starts separating from the bottom and I am able to peel off the top white skin. It looks like athletes foot with no itchiness or severe redness. I've also been experiencing fatigue and insomnia. Has anyone dealt with high pH levels and health problems, or was able to lower it back to normal? I've heard vitamin C can help?

Thanks

I am not clear why one should take the ACV and baking soda or lemon/lime juice and baking soda for 5 days and then stop for 2 days. Why stop for 2 days? What is the reason?

Thanks for any help.

Bill

Do the two formulas ACV/BS and BS/Lemon accomplish the same results in the body ? I'm thinking the vinegar component brings other qualities to the blood or body such as antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral and circulatory for the heart. I take the ACV/BS once a day but lose weight where I'm already thin. However, I want to take the one that covers the most benefits.

Joseph:)

P.S. I do the borax mix in one liter and the Iodine/Vit C daily too.

Hi Joe...I have always preferred the lime/lemon and baking soda remedies myself, although I also use the ACV plus baking soda remedy fairly regularly. I alkalize normally 2 or 3 times a day, usually using 1/4 teaspoon BS. But if I'm ill, then I will always increase the baking soda to 1/2 teaspoon 3 times a day with the lime or lemon juice in half a glass of water.

Most of Ted's alkalizing remedy dosages are not set in concrete and are normally based on size or weight of the person involved -- Ted's remedies are all based on a 150 lb person. But I'm 200 lbs, have a large frame -- so alkalizing 3 times a day is OK for me. If I weighed less, then a reduced frequency or amount might better suit me. You will have to find your own level here.

The ACV alkalizing mix contains malate and acetate salts -- good for energy and a good antimicrobial. But the lemon and lime remedy contains citrates and at least 5% vitamin C -- the citrates help to regenerate the bicarbonates in you body, which therefore aids cellular respiration and also helps to further alkalize your body as well as aid digestion. Out of the two, my own preference is the lemon/lime remedy because it seems to me to be more balancing and complete -- and not least because it helped me to get rid of a longstanding intestinal candida problem that went on for years and therefore this alkalizing mix is a very effective anti-fungal. I have also lost over 20 lbs using this remedy and I'm now down to a more reasonable weight.

Regarding your weight problem -- alot of people would give their eye teeth too be thin...lol. Still, perhaps taking a magnesium supplement such as magnesium chloride, mag gluconate or mag citrate would best suit you. You can even take it transdermally using mag chloride or mag sulfate(epsom salts) as bath salts. Magnesium is a wonderful hormone balancer and is involved in over 300 enzyme reactions in your body. My own favourite is Mag Chloride, because it seems to have the most healing qualities of all the magnesium salts. Check it out here:

Magnesium Chloride -- Early Medical History

Magnesium Chloride -- Modern Research

I've also been using borax for over a year now. Borax is perhaps the ultimate anti-fungal, also good for proper bone growth, hormone balancing and also very effective against mycoplasma and nanobacterial problems. I use borax regularly -- 1/4 teaspoon in a liter of water -- taken for 4 days and then take three days break.

The Iodine/Vit C is also an essential daily protocol for me. I've done much research on this and from Max Gerson's research, it appears we need only micrograms of iodide for the thyroid but milligrams for our major organs. Most of this research has also been covered by Dr Guy Abrahams:

Bill - I have been taking 2 Tbsp ACV with 1/4 tsp Baking Soda in 6 oz of water for the last three days without any problems. I took it this morning & added 1/4 tsp Sodium Ascorbate. I took some supplements about 20 minutes later (selenium, 6000 iud of Vitamin D3 drops, 1 Digestive Gold Enzyme, and manganese asporotate) and my whole body broke out in a tingling red sunburn type hive for about an hour. What would make this happen? Did I take the supplements too soon after taking the ACV? If so, how long should I wait before taking any kind of supplements? I am 48 year female with sudden hair loss over the last 9 months and trying to find something to stop it before having to purchase a wig. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi Sunshine...Taking 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda(sodium bicarbonate) with ACV should do you no harm. But taking 1/4 teaspoon of sodium ascorbate at the same time might well overload your intestines with sodium. So best take these two at different times in the day -- at least an hour apart.

Taking Vitamin D and selenium together should be OK. But I would take the Digestive enzymes on there own or at mealtimes. I use digestive protease enzymes to aid my immune system, so I take them on their own, outside mealtimes.

And be careful with Manganese supplements, these should not be taken on a daily basis, but should be taken on an "as needed" basis ie not every day. Check Ted's opinion here:

Manganese Dosage

Overdosing on Manganese can cause some strange, Parkinson-like symptoms. So be careful not to overdose on this mineral.

Bill, would switching from the acv/bs to lemon/bs decrease the weight loss results. Being already thin I'm trying to minimize this, which ordinarily would be a good problem. I thought is was the vinegar that facilitates this but i guess both remedies do this.

I'm going to buy some mag chloride to make the oil (skin application), but can the oil be taken orally too.

Do any of the alkalizing remedies or borax (1 liter), and Iodine remove the good flora in the GI too ?
(need for probiotics later)

Thanks.

Bill: Normally the bicarb mixture is done in 1/2 glass of water and then drank. Can one get the same benefit mixing 1/4 teaspoon of both Baking Soda and Potassuim Bicarb into 1 liter of water and drink thru the day? The 1 liter also has the Borax, Hydrogen Peroxide, sea salt mix. I'm trying to make it easier for my father to follow remedies. He has suspect kidney issues and I read bicarbs can help improve this.

I can't find lugols in decolorless 2%. Is it ok to use regular colorless iodine to apply topically for some skin moles, cysts?

Hi Joe... You should be able to combine the sodium and potassium bicarb remedy with the Borax, hydrogen peroxide and sea salt mix without problems. But the bicarb remedy should at least be taken twice a day, so it should be 1/2 tspn sodium bicarbonate and 1/2 tspn potassium bicarbonate that is added to your other mix(which represents two daily doses).

I always prefer to keep the bicarb remedy taken separate from any other remedies, and tend to take this now on an as needed basis.

HI Ted,

I am measuring my pH level for few weeks and my pH level is close to 5.0 - 5.5 in the morning but during the day it rises to 6.5- 7.5 range. Doctor who is treating me, is saying that the morning pH is the most important and it suppose to be between the range of 6.5-7.5. Can you please advise me what kind of alkalizing formula is good for me or any other suggestion for me.

The pH during the morning hour is acid, so I am assuming that's urine pH. To minimize the pH before it becomes acid, this means taking roughly 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda before sleep. This should reduce the morning acid pH. Then, if it's still acid, 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda may be taken again during the morning hours, preferably 30 minutes after meals, so that the alkalinity won't crash with the stomach acid that is about to digest some food. The body accepts alkalinity only after the food is digested, and hence it's taken after meal. If that's not possible it is taken first thing in the morning, before the hungry feeling goes up.

If we are talking about saliva pH, then it gets more complicated, a tripotassium citrate maybe needed to get it up along with some baking soda. Because the pH acidity is only temporary effects the morning hour, then a baking soda will do fine.

its such a brilliant site reading comments from people. anyway what id like to find out is the lemon bicarb formula. i have problems with acne and constipation. i am late 30s. i wanted to find out what quantities to take if i were to do it on my own. is it a whole lemon to one teaspoon of bicarb. it states to add the bi carb until it stops fizzing, which i understand but is it just the one teaspoon i add slowly or is it as much as it can possibly stop fizzing. don't quite understand that bit. your help would be greatly appreciated thank you... and just to add a question does this formula help for depression???"

08/09/2011: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "The exact formula is 1/4 teaspoon after meals 30 minutes, especially after lunch and after dinner. If the person is metabolically in acidosis (such as diabetes), it's 30 minutes after every meal. Before you sleep it helps with 1/2 teaspoon in a 1/2 to 1 full glass of water (I prefer 1 glass if possible) to have a good night sleep for most people. The lemon and baking soda, or more preferably lime and baking soda, is 1 1/2 tablespoon (that's the total lime juice in a single lime) and 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. This can be taken after every meal and before sleep also. Make sure you get some of the oils in the lime or lemon, although I prefer lime because it has more vitamin C and citric acid contents, which reacts with sodium bicarbonate to become sodium citrate, which is a metal and calcium chelator, and prevents cysts, and ORP is negative, which is desirable in humans, animals and plants. In fact this is the secret to plant growth too.

The lime will help some of your acne by clearing up the calcium buildup and some of the fats (lemon oil or lime oil) taken internally. They dissolve heavy fats very well. In fact there is another formula I'm working on, which is lemon oil with potassium citrate. This will dissolve the lemon oil and get the blood vessels of the capillaries to clear out the fats so you get less acne as a result, but it also clears up lipid peroxidation of fat deposits around the acne and pores, but also anywhere in the body too. That means internal, such as gallstones (they are cholesterol but appear hard as a rock) can be dissolved.

The more I read about health issues the more confused I become! A short while ago somebody here said one should take bicarbonate dissolved in water before the meals, afterwards it wouldn't help breaking down the acidity anymore. Ted says that one should take it after the meals..... very confusing! I had just started to take it before the meals......

I am also wondering when is the best time to take any of Ted's alkalizing remedies. I have a very low stomach acid. I am afraid to shut it down even further by taking baking soda especially after meals when I need the stomach acid most.

I also read somewhere that acidic stomach = alkaline blood. How does that fit into drinking baking soda? Very confusing.

Your input is greatly appreciated!

Hi Bill, I get wary taking sodium bicarbonate alone because on several occasions I get fluttery heart. I think I read somewhere that it is because I am sodium sensitive. When I take it with Apple cider vinegar and a pinch of potassium I am ok. I think because the potassium balances the sodium out for me. I'm glad I can take it as long as I do this. I'm also sensitive to chromium and have to urinate a lot when I take it or any multi-vitamin that has 200 mcg of chromium in it. I also get very hyper on flax oil. The rest of the supplements I seem to do ok on.

One supplement in question I have to test more is blackstrap molasses and iodine. I take the BSM in the morning and started a drop of the iodine in the evening. Not sure which one is causing heart palpitations at night but when I stopped both time to time (not intentionally - just too busy to remember to take) then I don't usually get the heart palpitations when I lie down. Perhaps it's something else, I will see with further testing.

Hi Bill, thank you for the lengthy explanation! It makes sense, of course, since my bicarb levels are low on the recent blood test.

However, I am still a little concerned about taking baking soda. Here is why: I have a slight case of the mouth thrush and I keep it under control most of the time by eating well. Here is what doesn't fit into your theory.... I have tried taking baking soda on one occasion and lemon juice on another (away from meals) to alkalize my system; however, after both of these times I could almost see the thrush growing in front of my eyes in the mirror. My tongue gets covered with white patches immediately and they expand and I also get a pretty bad brain fog. The only other time I experience such symptoms is when I eat sweets or a lot of sweet fruit, such as an apple or a watermelon.

Any ideas? Thank you!

Hi Ted, I've just started trying the Baking Soda formula last night but there are a few questions I would like to ask. By half a glass, do you mean half a cup? And should I take it on an empty stomach? Last night I ate right before going to bed so I took the baking soda right after, I dunno if that was a good idea. Also, is it safe to continue taking baking soda for as long as I need? I am 21yrs old and have had serious problems with my chest. The left side is swollen, or gets swollen everytime I exercise. Sometimes it hurts for no reason. No over my heart, the entire left chest muscle. Sometime it gets firm as well. This has prevented me from working out as after I get into the groove of my workouts I start to feel my left chest muscle hurting. I also feel light headed and to throw up badly everytime I exercise, and the discomfort sometimes leaves my chest muscle and travels down my left arm. I thought it was my heart but I've done x-rays, blood tests, and MRA tests more than once that all come back saying my heart's healthy. The one thing the MRA showed that the others didn't however, was that my ph was 6.9 or slightly over 6.8. I'm starting to believe my problems are because of my acidity and I can't afford kangen water in the amounts I need it. I started eating healthy instead of buying bread etc, but I couldn't afford to keep that up on my budget either, since I'm paying my way through college.

Then I saw this site. Baking soda, now that I can afford lol. I've had this problem for years and it's affecting my life badly. I want to be able to workout but my body won't let me. Is there any other test I need to take to know if it's my heart? Or is it safe to try dealing with my acid now? Sometimes when I eat and belch, I feel bile rise up in my throat and goes back down. I get muscle spasms as well. After researching, I believe my problem is acid. Hope to get a reply to my questions soon, and hope the remedy works :) Thanks for putting this info out there.

Hi Jervais, Take your b/soda at least 1/2 hr before you eat & never just after you have eaten because then you neutralize the acid to digest your food.

Too much baking soda and you may get shortness of breath and your heart flutters or races this may be condition is caused by taking TOO MUCH baking soda and the pH was 8. I needed a breathing tube and oxygen tank which we happen to have in our home for exercising. Normal pH of the blood is a between 7.35 to 7.45. This helps keep all the organs functioning properly. Consider just eating an alkalizing diet. Please read and follow the guidelines for alkalyzing carefully.

Hi Suwanna,

At the risk of repeating myself so often, I would say that green vegetable juice is not only completely alkalizing to the body, it will heal you of your ailments, I am certain. The vasculitis is your body unable to process quickly enough the toxicity in it. Also, your anemia will be corrected as the chlorophyll is the to the plant as our blood is to our body. Your joint pain will disappear and over time your hair will be restored to health. I really do hope this helps you. If you are uncertain about knowing how to juice watch video on youtube for instruction. You can get a juicer that is reasonably priced and know that the health benefits are well-worth it!

Best to you, Lisa

Dear Suwanna, The alkalyzing drink that I use calls for 1 T. unsulfured black strap molasses, 1 T. fresh lemon juice or organic apple cider vinegar, pinch of epson salts, 1 tsp. powdered kelp (build up to 1 T.)and 1 T. lime water.

Lime Water: Purchase Pickling Lime, I use Mrs. Wages brand, add 1 T. to one gallon of filtered water, shake up, and take out the one tablespoon (or amount you require) for your drink each time.

I drink this three times a day, you can adjust the items as needed, I am low on sodium so I only use 1 tsp. of the black strap molasses per drink, and have built up to 2 tsp. of kelp per drink so far. I also adjust the lime water (calcium) because my calcium stores are also low. I'm currently using 2-3 T. of lime water per drink.

Hope this helps!

EC: Hi KD,

Lemon Formula
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 03/22/2010

Hi KdBruce...I had candida and took all the BS based alkalizing remedies that Ted recommends. I also had frequent episodes of racing heart after taking my favourite lemon plus baking soda remedy. Sometimes I couldn't sleep either. And I also used to wake up in the middle of the night with bad leg cramps sometimes. So here's what I did:

I determined that my own problem was magnesium deficiency. I could also have been missing other important minerals in my body related to my problems. So everyday I would put a litre of fresh water in a bottle, add 1/2 tspn organic Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate) or you can equally use crystals of Magnesium Chloride instead. Then I would also add 1/4 tspn borax (1/8 tspn for women) and 1/4 tspn natural sea salt to the litre of water. And I would drink this throughout the day.

You could also create drinking water containing magnesium bicarbonate from soda water and Milk of Magnesia(with no aluminium). See the remedy here:

https://www.earthclinic.com/supplements/magnesium2.html#RECIPEFORMAGNESIUM-RICH

I also used to spray my body after showers using an 8 oz garden sprayer containing 3 heaped tablespoons of Epsom salts(Mag sulphate). I would let this just dry and be absorbed into my body transdermally. You can also take a hot bath and add 3 cups of either Mag sulphate or Mag Chloride crystals to the bathwater. Stay in the bath for at least 1/2 hour for the magnesium to be absorbed. Do this 2-3 times a week. Bye the way, this is the fastest and safest way to raise your magnesium levels.

This cured all my insomnia and cramp problems.

Read about Magnesium supplements here:
https://www.earthclinic.com/supplements/magnesium2.html

Read about Transdermal Mag Therapy here:
https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/transdermal-magnesium-therapy.html

So there are plenty of magnesium options here for you. The citrate and chloride forms of magnesium are the better forms to use as an internal supplement as Ted says. But I'm limited with my own options because I can't find any magnesium citrate or magnesium chloride in Philippine chemists or herbals at all. I even had to get my son to send me some Phillip's Milk of Magnesia from UK because ALL forms of MoM contain aluminium in the Philippines. I have the same problem with trying to obtain lugol's iodine (I use foot-painting with iodine tincture now) and with obtaining potassium in its bicarbonate, citrate and carbonate forms(I now use potassium gluconate instead). I simply had to adapt, no choice, but I got there in the end...LOL.

Hi KdBruce...Forgot to add that I am assuming that you have no renal or kidney issues. The kidneys are what help filter and balance the minerals in your blood. If there was a problem with your kidneys, this could also cause your insomnia as well as symptoms like racing heart through possible sodium/potassium imbalance issues.

Hi Bill, thank you so much for your response!! I will try everything you mentioned...makes sense to me since I have always been deficient in magnesium. I have ordered more of the magnesium gel for transdermal and have epsom salts for baths and will try the MOM(milk of magnesia) recipe too. I have been drinking 1/8 teaspoon of borax in distilled water for the last couple of weeks but will add 1/4 tsp of seasalt as you mentioned. One more question should I add the potassium bicarbonate Ted mentioned in his formula's? And is this the same as Cream of Tartar?

Thanks again for your answer and support!

Lemon Formula
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 03/24/2010

Hi Kdbruce...By all means add the potassium bicarbonate to the lemon/lime and BS remedy as Ted advises -- this will satisfy the most parameters in your body and is completely balanced and safe. This also avoids all the problems with just using sodium bicarbonate only, as some people seem to be sensitive to this form through their own sodium/potassium or renal issues.

As to your question on Cream of Tartar, I would avoid using this, for all the reasons that Ted states here:

https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/candida.html#CREAMTARTER

I would just use potassium bicarbonate with sodium bicarbonate instead because it's both tried and tested and is quite safe.

Lemon Formula
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 03/26/2010

Hi Joe...Sorry for the confusion. By 'body parameters' I meant body homeostasis -- ie maintaining proper alkaline/acid balance(pH), electrolytic or mineral balance, salinity balance, enzyme operation, proper endocrine and lymphatic operation etc.

To simply maintain the optimum physical/chemical conditions for the inner body terrain to generate optimum health.

See this link:

Lemon Formula

So by taking the BS, lemon and potassium bicarbonate remedy you would therefore increase your body pH and alkalinity as well as help balance your body electrolytes(that's sodium and potassium).

The sodium and potassium citrates formed from this remedy are also beneficial for increasing energy(citrates are used in the cell energy cycle) and because your body alkalinity is increased, your immune system is therefore improved, and oxygen is exchanged more efficiently at the cellular level. Lemons also contain Vitamin C which also benefits your body.

Bill, can you clarify this for me. Ted wants us to add baking soda to lemon juice until it stops fizzling. But in his other posts (see below just add 1/2 ts of baking soda) does that mean 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda is adequate for 2 tablespoon of lemon juice? What happen if it still fizzles?

"Per Ted postings
The lemon juice formula, 2 tablespoon of lime or lemon juice plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water"

Thanks Bill for your expertise.

General Feedback

Peter...Just add the sodium bicarbonate powder to the lemon/lime juice until the fizzing stops. If it doesn't stop fizzing you can drink it as is or simply add more sodium bicarbonate until the fizzing stops. I just do the latter, for two reasons. First, lemons/limes always come in different sizes, small and large, so their juice content will vary. Second -- Baking soda or sodium bicarbonate is body friendly and is about as poisonous to our bodies as ordinary salt. Here is further evidence of the body-friendliness of Baking soda:

https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/alkalizing_formulas.html#TEDS

In the old days -- the 1920s -- Arm & Hammer was used as an antacid and, internally, for relief and cure from colds and flu. The starting dose, as advertised for colds and flu by Arm & Hammer in 1924, was 6 HALF-SPOONFULS IN A GLASSFUL OF WATER A DAY AT TWO HOUR INTERVALS ON AN EMPTY STOMACH, which is a much larger dose of pure baking soda than is advertised on this site. See the link here:

http://sodiumbicarbonate.imva.info/index.php/administration-methods/arm-hammer-soda-company/

I just usually squeeze one lemon or lime, add the water and add the baking soda until it stops fizzing. That's it. Then I just drink it. In other words, if you add slightly less than or more than 1/2 tspn of baking soda to this remedy -- it won't hurt you.

Same question for the lemon and lime formula, keep adding baking soda until stop fizzle, what happen if you add too much, what happen ? Also when I add baking soda to lime and lemon, there is always some fizzle. does half glass of water makes stronger vs whole glass?

I do have one more question that you may could help with. I am concerned about taking the alkalizing formulas to close to meals as not to interfere with digestion. I did note in your post that 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda could be taken after meals to help with digestion. But what if you are taking 1/2 tsp of baking soda or any other of the formulas how close to meals can you take them? Would you please expand on this? Bill, just to make sure I understand what is carb-bicarb, is below from Ted call carbicarb ?

7. For People with Sodium Issues and Want to Alkalize and Normalize Many Biological Parameters: One whole freshly squeezed lemon (or lime) and keep adding the bicarbonate until the fizz stops. The bicarbonate is made of 50/50, sodium bicarbonate and potassium bicarbonate. Sorry, sodium must always be there to achieve somewhat of a sodium/potassium balance. Take this twice a day once in the morning and once in the evening on an empty stomach. This is done to avoid diarrhea problems, if taken along with food.

What about sodium carbonate plus baking soda ? Is that carb-bicarb also ?
Thanks for your advise !

Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 02/23/2010

To answer your other questions:

"To make Carbicarb, let me know if I do this right.

I assume Ted wants us to mix 1/2 sodium bicarbonate and 1/2 potassium bicarbonte togather and add them in the lemon juice until it stop fizzle. Is this what Ted meant when he wrote 50/50 ?"

The inference here is to use 1/4 tspn of both potassium and sodium bicarbonate and the juice of one lemon or lime. If you 1/2 tspns of each, you would have to use 2 lemons or 2 limes here. What is important here is to add the lemon or lime juice until the fizzing stops -- this is not an exact measurement and will depend on the amount of juice, then you will have created the necessary potassium and sodium citrates for alkalizing your body. This will create a proper maintenance dose, because you will get the same amount of bicarbonates as using just 1/2 sodium bicarb alone, but with the added potassium, you will affect and normalize more parameters. If you wanted to increase this dosage - then just take these dosages more often, this is safer than just upping the dose.

"...could they just use sodium free Baking Soda, would that solve the problem ? Thank for your expertise !"

No, there is no such thing. The definition of Baking Soda is simply Sodium Bicarbonate powder.

To Bill from San Fernando,

Thanks very much for posting all this information regarding alkalizing formulas. I'd like to know more in detail, if you don't mind, how did you get rid of your candida issues in one year, as it is so difficult, really. Apart from alkalizing... with which of the formulas? or did you combine them? And did you take any fungal products o did any other specific treatment? Thank you very much in advance.

Bill,

Did you have systemic candida or where did you have it and how did you know you were free from it? How do you test it?

General Feedback
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 02/25/2010

Hi Rose...There are about 20 or more symptoms for candida, but remember the symptoms can vary between people who have it which is why even doctors can easily mis-diagnose candida.

If you have systemic candida, then usually an organ or a different area of the body is affected -- eg liver, kidney, bladder etc. Other pointers -- if a woman keeps getting thrush again and again, this is another symptom of candida I think.

My own intestinal candida symptoms were -- severe grogginess and brainfog in the morning, insomnia, jock itch(tinea cruris), BM and toilet only once every 4 days, constipation with dry, hard stools, low energy, bloated feeling all the time, tired all the time, psoriasis, eczema, toenail fungus and I regularly caught colds and flu.

I knew my intestinal candida was gone because all my symptoms(above) just slowly disappeared, one after another, over a period of a year. I also have much more energy now, I sleep better and I haven't had cold or flu in over 2 years.

The only symptom that did not go away was my jock itch -- but I suspect that could have been MRSA. I got rid of that by applying Milk of Magnesia directly over it every night. It disappeared in only two days and I'ld had that jock itch for 7 years, used all the recommended drugs and creams and couldn't get rid of it until I used the MoM.

Hi Peter...That should be OK but if you are really not happy with the dose quantity and it's causing diarrhea or other problems, just make up the lemon/lime remedy as per normal in half a glass of water, then pour away or save half of this solution in another glass, then add ordinary water back up to half a glass and drink that.

Doing this effectively dilutes the original solution and strength by half.

Hi Bill. Your answers have been a great help. I would just like to know if the lemon/lime mixture will also help with the decrease of blood pressure like the ACV does? I hate the taste of the ACV and hate even worse the ACV and Baking Soda combo. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated as my husband needs to use this as well but refuses to use anything with any type of vinegar. Thanks:)

Hi DerbyChick77...If you look at Rebel from Somewhere's post above my post here, you will see that the lemon/lime mixture does indeed help with blood pressure. But I'm thinking here that maybe you wont like the taste of this one either..LOL.

So here are some suggestions on how to gently lower blood pressure. First and foremost, Magnesium. You can take this internally or transdermally in crystalline hydrate form using Magnesium Chloride or Mag Sulphate(Epsom Salts) and there are three ways to take magnesium.

First you could take and ingest 1/4 tspn in a glass of water of either Mag chloride or Mag Sulphate crystals two or three times a day. But, have to say that this is the slow way to take magnesium. The best and fastest way to raise your magnesium levels is:

* Having a hot bath 2-3 times a week with 3 cups of mag chloride or mag sulphate crystals added to the bathwater. Stay in the bath for at least 1/2 hour to allow the magnesium to be absorbed transdermally. This will rapidly and safely bring your body magnesium levels up, without causing problems with digestion or diarrhea as might occur with mag ingestion.

* Spray yourself(or indeed any sore, arthritic areas) using a garden sprayer containing 8 oz water and 3-4 heaped tspns of either Mag chloride or Mag sulphate crystals. Allow this to completely dry on your body and have another quick shower afterwards if you like. This is my method -- since I don't have a bath. It is also less wasteful and does the job just as well.

Here is a link showing the multitude of benefits from magnesium chloride:

http://curezone.com/art/read.asp?ID=49&db=5&C0=74

Another simple protocol is to just take Cayenne pepper tablets and Hawthorne Berry tablets -- both exceptionally good for BP and heart.

Hi Kelly...Although my remedy was a tri-herbal remedy, the really important herb for removal of all stones is "The StoneBreaker" or Phyllanthus niruri. This herb is renowned in Ayurvedic(Indian) medicine for stone and calcium deposit removal. So, if you have stones, this is the most important herb for you.

Your best bet is to try two Ayurvedic mixtures that are sold at Ayurvedic stores and websites and these are:

Triphala

Chayawanprash

Both contain Phyllanthus niruri and are usually taken, a spoonful at a time, with bread or other food.

Failing this you should be able to easily find and order the above mixtures, as well as the plain powdered Phyllanthus niruri herb, from any Ayurvedic website. Unfortunately I can't recommend any sites here -- not allowed -- but just type in their names into Google Search and you will find them easily enough.

Good luck !!

Kelly...I forgot to add that the tri-herbal remedy that I use -- I make all this up myself. The Chanca piedra(Phyllanthus niruri), Tinospora cordifolia and Tumeric root, I actually grow in my tropical garden here in the Philippines but you will not be able to do this in Cincinnati, wrong climate.

This is why I haven't advised how to make the decoction -- it's best you purchase the Ayurvedic equivalents that I've mentioned above and follow their instructions -- just as good. I've also written more about the uses of this remedy here:

to bill, i was planning on following the lime/soda alkalizing formula until i saw on the baking soda remedy page the warning about baking soda depleting the body of essential vitamins and minerals. could you respond exactly what you followed for a year? thank you so much.

Bill's Formula
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 02/25/2010

Hi Cindy...I've looked and searched over the internet for the evidence for the depletion of Vit C by Sodium Bicarbonate and cannot find any substantiative evidence.

Here is the official MSDS Datasheet on the Toxicity of Sodium Bicarnonate or Baking Soda:

http://www.jtbaker.com/msds/englishhtml/s2954.htm

Baking Soda has a LD50(median lethal dose) of 4.2 grams/kg for rats. To give you a comparison of toxicity, ordinary table salt(Sodium Chloride) has an LD50 of 3.0 grms/kgm. See this link:

http://www.jtbaker.com/msds/englishhtml/S3338.htm

So, ordinary table salt(Sodium Chloride) is therefore technically more poisonous than Baking Soda(or Sodium Bicarbonate).

I have never personally had any side-effects from taking the baking soda remedies in the last 3-4 years.

This is what I took to cure candida:

* Ted's alkalizing remedies using either whole squeezed lemon/lime or 2 tbspns ACV plus 1/2 tspn baking soda(Arm & Hammer brand) two or three times a day. This is Ted's Alkalizing Remedy and this is THE NUMBER ONE CURE for Candida in my book.

* One tablespoons of virgin coconut oil stirred into my coffee or raw at least 3 times a day. Taken to both fight candida and cure my constipation problems.

* Blackstrap molasses(for essential minerals) in my coffee, no refined sugar or aspartame sweetener allowed in my diet.

When I started this remedy at the beginning, I got fairly severe flu-like symptoms -- it almost seemed as if the remedy was making me worse. But this die off or Herxheimer Effect always happens when you get the fungal toxins in your blood from the microbes and fungus, so think of it as a good sign.So don't give up !!

Your liver and kidneys are overworked clearing the candida die-off toxins from your body initially, until your immune system can get on top of it, so its worthwhile taking herbs like milk thistle, burdock etc(your choice) to support your liver and kidneys during this protocol. After this die-off it was easy. All my skin problems just disappeared slowly (except the jock itch -- but that's another story) and I haven't had a cold or flu in over 2 years now.

It took me a full year to completely get rid of my candida with all symptoms gone. And even though I'm clear of candida now, and since it is very difficult to eat non-acidic foods these days, I still always alkalize and take coconut oil and molasses a couple of times a week as a preventative even now (plus I am now supplementing borax, magnesium, natural sea salt etc as recommended by Ted on this site).

I have also read on EC that certain people -- who probably have sodium or potassium body electrolyte issues, have suffered insomnia, nausea, kidney pains or headaches on alkalizing protocols.

Some interesting historic information for you. Medical Doctors, up until the 1930s, used to regularly recommend Sodium Bicarbonate for acid stomach, colds, flu and as a paste for brushing your teeth. In current day medical applications, Sodium Bicarbonate is regularly used as an IV in both cancer chemotherapy as a clearing buffer, and also for women in labour.

Never take sodium bicarbonate if you have renal or kidney problems. Seek medical advice first.

I hope that this puts your mind at ease about baking soda,

Bill

Bill, you say ...

"I have also read on EC that certain people -- who probably have sodium or potassium body electrolyte issues, have suffered insomnia, nausea, kidney pains or headaches on alkalizing protocols. "

Can you tell me what to do in that case? Should we take the formula or not? And if not, what can we do as an alternative.

Thanks in advance.

Bill's Formula
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 02/25/2010

Hi Moi...If you have sodium issues, then use either 1/8 tsn Baking Soda plus 1/16 tspn potassium bicarbonate plus 1/4 tspn citric acid powder.

You can also use the lemon/lime remedy with baking soda, which also normalizes many more parameters and, according to Ted, is the best and easiest one to use.

I've never ever had any problems taking these remedies myself, and I've been taking them for 3-4 years now. As to whether you should take these formulas, that's really up to you. If you have renal or kidney issues, then seek advice from your doctor.

As far as I'm concerned, baking soda is body friendly and is a natural body chemical, because bicarbonates are used widely both in digestion and in essential respiration processes within the human body. Sodium is also a major body electrolyte, which you body needs.

Sodium bicarbonate(baking soda) on its own, before the 1930s, was regularly prescribed in solution by doctors for colds and flu, and was used as a toothpaste. Today, Sodium bicarbonate is used by the medical profession as an IV buffer or flush during cancer chemotherapy as well as for women in labour.

Sodium bicarbonate, according to the MSDS standard, in terms of toxicity, is technically less poisonous to your body than ordinary table salt.

Hope this helps...

Can you tell me if I should use the full amount of sodium bicarb, 1/4 in my acv or lemon twice a day. I also have candida. Yesterday when I tried the borax and acv mixture I felt the same movement in the liver. Then I felt a strong pain in my lower abdomen where I have the candida rash. I noticed that the tightness in my liver, lessened. I'm thinking this cure would help those with liver disease, since I have liver malfunction, or perhaps the candida has invaded my liver. I also had more energy than normal and my thinking was clearer. Of course, this is the first day but I thought I would add that info. Also, I noticed that my urine was cloudy. Do you have any idea why that is? I also noticed I passed more candida in my urine and stool.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 04/07/2010

Hi Sodium...Providing there is nothing wrong with your kidneys, alkalizing using lemon/lime or ACV with BS or BS (on its own) with 1/2 glass of water should not hurt you and should definitely help to get rid of the candida. When I had Candida, I took these remedies and used 1/2 tspn of BS twice a day in the remedies.

What might also cause a potassium/sodium imbalance is low body magnesium. Magnesium is very important, and is used in over 300 major body enzyme processes, including the regulation of calcium/potassium in your body. Most people are magnesium deficient and take too much calcium in their diet these days. Too much calcium causes intracellular acidity which encourages ailments like candida.

The best magnesium supplements to take are mag chloride, mag citrate or mag gluconate. You could also take magnesium (using either mag chloride or Epsom salts) -- 2-3 cups in your hot bath -- and absorb the magnesium transdermally through your skin over 1/2 an hour. Or you can simply prepare it as a spray using an ordinary garden sprayer. See this link:

https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/transdermal-magnesium-therapy.html

I also prepare my own mineral water these days using 1/2 teaspoon natural sea salt, 1/4 tspn borax(1/8 tspn for women) and 1/4 teaspoon Mag sulphate(epsom salts or mag chloride) in 1 litre of water, and just drink this over a couple of days. This should benefit and regulate your electrolytic imbalances as well as both the sea salt and the borax acting as significant anti-fungals against the candida.

Bill's Formula
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 04/08/2010

Hi Sodium...When I started my Candida remedies, all sorts of strange things happened. First, and for a while, I felt quite poorly for a few weeks at the beginning of the cure. But this is just the candida die-off reaction to the remedies(this always happens), which puts a large strain on your immune system, liver and kidneys initially. This is why I took my own brand of herbs to support these organs during whilst taking the candida remedies. Many people with candida give up at this stage, either saying that they are allergic to the remedies or that the remedies just don't work. But you will always feel worse before you feel better with these remedies, because of this Herxheimer or candida die-off effect.

Secondly, when I was taking these remedies, I felt round, hard, pea-like things coming out with my faeces. Hundreds of them. I worked out that this could only have been a discharge of gallstones from my liver/gallbladder area, through use of my remedies. I was using coconut oil with lemon/lime in my remedies, which is also a method used to get rid of gallstones(normally lemon juice and olive oil are used). This discharge went on for something over 4 months and then just stopped. A useful side-effect of this discharge was that I both lost a considerable amount of weight as well as got a flat tummy again.

My view of the "liver movement" you have experienced is simply the discharge of more bile(and perhaps gallstone blockages or even parasites) from your liver/gallbladder area. As a precaution, and to support your kidneys and liver organs, I would also take herbs -- like dandylion, burdock, milk thistle or herbs of your own choice -- to support your liver and kidneys for the duration.

Cloudy urine can be caused by many things -- bacteria, excess blood proteins, excess minerals or even lack of Vitamin C. To see all the causes of cloudy urine, just type "ted cloudy urine" in the search box at the top right of this page and this will show you all the ailments and causes that it relates to in another tab in your browser.

My problem is in duodenum and spread to lower small intestine. I removed Candida by drinking carbicarb from lower intestine (I could see it in my urine). Changes were immediate (better skin, hair, back acne gone) but it will take me some time to fix the actual duodenum. There is a lot of that staff there. I develop burning in my mouth after 40min of eating that is how I learned that it is the duodenum. It is quite difficult for Candida to get in the stomach due to digestive juices. Robert

Hi Bill, Would you advise me about my challenges with the candida protocol.

I began alkalyzing and doing your candida at the same time. I noticed with the baking soda I slept better. I also began the Water Cure which is more sea salt. I had strange results. The first was I was gaining 2 lbs per day. But to be fair I think it was from the water cure. But the worst was a horrible itching that started inside my breasts. I scratched so hard that I caused a boil on one breast which has yet to heal (6 weeks now, antibiotics and icchmol drawing ointment for the last week)

I am so still itchy. I stopped everything as I thought I was drastically allergic to something. I know I have candida and leaky gut and many food allergies. Do you have any idea what I did wrong?

Thinking maybe I am sensitive to the synthetic fabric in the bra for some reason... Anyway.... I am wearing a bra again today, so will see if it gets worse again. If not, then I will go back to the sea salt, and see how that goes. I Love the sea salt, really hoping that is not the cause. I Hope you are doing better. Boils are nothing to mess around with.... I have pasted a post from Bill of the Philippines below. He talks about using bicarbonate and citrates to neutralize acids and thereby help the kidneys, and whole body. I know that my body has been overly acidic for a long time. When he talks about bicarbonate I think he's referring to baking soda, I Don't know what he means by citrates. I've read his post over and over and looked up citrates on the internet and haven't found much at all. He talks about takiing citrates, but warns Against citrus fruits! Does he mean taking certain minerals? Fortunately, I am able to take bicarb in water. But I am one of those people who cannot take ACV, or citrus fruits, or citrus fruits with bicarb in water. With the Citrus and bicarb the body gets too alkaline, quickly... then the urethera burns.

I'm working on getting off of that blasted omeprazole. Finally found out that when you try to stop omeprazole and replace it with something else you get an acid Surge. I got the surge mostly calmed down, and I'm now taking sodium alginate (forms a raft to protect the esophageal sphincter, I think) I'm supplementing with this with Tums, as well as marshmallow root, DGL, raw okra juice, and cooked okra. I started using calcium carbonate instead of tums in order to avoid the dies or other additives. But the body really does seem to become more alkaline with calcium carbonate than tums. Does that even make sense? and I run into the overly alkaline problem again. Any suggestions?
Thank you, Denise

Hi Everyone... One fact that seems to scream out from the research regarding kidney problems is that a major cause for this condition is because the body is already far to acid, resulting in dangerous erosion and damage to the kidneys themselves caused by the acidity in the blood. Ted from Bangkok has said this time and time again on EC.D

Kidney disease and high body acidity also means that the body will havegreat problems digesting acid foods like raw Apple Cider Vinegar(acetic acd, malic acid) and citrus fruits(citric acid) which are normally beneficial to people whose bodies are not so acidic and who have sufficient stores to neutralize the citric acid to citrates and acetic acid to acetates. Ingesting these raw acid foods -- when the body is already so acidic and body bicarbonate stores so lacking -- are not beneficial to the body because in people with already acidic bodies and in order for these ingested acids to be converted to useful alkaline salts, these acids must first be neutralized by our bicarbonate stores during digestion. Excess blood acidity caused by a bad acid diet and a resulting lack of bicarbonate stores is what damages and erodes the kidneys. So if you have kidney problems then this essentially means that your body's bicarbonate and citrate stores are heavily depleted and also means that you are eating way too many acid foods -- so you cannot efficiently neutralize these damaging acids in the blood or within the cells themselves.

Therefore the common sense approach would simply be just to take Ted's Alkalizing Remedies to increase bicarbonate stores(alkalize the blood) and citrates (to alkalize the intracellular environment) within the body. From the research, bicarbonates and citrates are particularly useful for the kidneys in this respect.

So for some people to advise, as I have already read on EC, taking acidic foods like raw ACV and citrus fruits when someone is suffering from kidney disease caused by a lack of bicarbonate alkali in an already acidic body would seem to be absolutely crazy and completely the wrong advice.

I have just started to use the lemon juice/baking soda formula.. Already my heart burn has gone (after one day).

I have annoying varicose and spider veins and feel very self-conscious about this. Will this alkalinising formula have an effect on my veins, and is there a specific way I should be going about this in order to target the varicose and spider veins??? Thanks, Ted!!

Is the remedy for spider and varicose veins lemon and baking soda? I didn't quite get the answer to the lady who asked the question. Thank you

EC: Sorry, no one answered that question!

I am looking forward to trying the bk soda and lemon and also some of the other remedies. I have a urinaary tract infectiionm, serious candida, gout, 3rd stage kidney disease and hiugh cholesterol and my PH is LOW so Im praying and going to work. I have to see my Dr about the UT on the l7th of this month, August and in two months to have the blood work done. I am also looking at my life and the annnoyances I so often feel and trying to yield these to the Lord(needed miracle). I am 70 years old and recently also started walking on a treadmill at the Y and doing some weights. I ama very grateful fo all this information as I have been exasperated trying to settle upon what to do. Whoever you are Ted or Tim from Bangkoc God bless you.
