Fish Oil, Vitamin E

I used to have the odd break-out, particularly around menstruation. About 5 months ago I started taking taking fish oil with vitamin E - a combined oil in capsules. My skin became very smooth, glowing, even in tone, moisturised looking constantly and clear! I got so many compliments about how good my skin looked generally. I stopped taking it for the fish oil for about 2 months, and the spots, blemishes and a general uneven tone started again. I was so not used to it, and used to receiving compliments. So, I'm back on it, and within 2 days, it's as if my body 'remembers' and my skin is just starting now to clear up. I highly recommend fish oil with vitamin E. It will do your nails and hair wonders too :)

Fish oils helped clear up a gross patch of skin I developed on my face after being ill for several years. I take 1 Tablespoon per day, down it with a glass of juice, and started seeing results pretty quickly! I now take it every other day or so just because. I refer to it as liquid gold now :)
I only used a generic brand too as I was unable to afford the $50 high quality stuff so give the $10 bottle a chance! Sometimes I say a prayer beforehand to make the oil more healing for my body. whatever works!
As for getting it down: the unflavoured stuff works best. Pour some on a large spoon, have flavoured drink/fruit juice ready, hold breath, pour oil onto tongue, pour some juice into mouth and swallow whatever you can. Only breathe through mouth when necessary. Once its all down keep drinking juice and swish around in mouth so it cleans up the gross taste and swallow. It can be done! :)

Flaxseed Oil

Hi everyone. I wanted to send my big YEA for flax seed oil and the skin. I take flax every so often, but lately I decided to up my daily dosage and take it consistently after all the great things I have been reading about it. I am taking 1 Tablespoon of organic flax (highest lignan count) 3 times a day for a couple of weeks and the effects have been phenomenal. My skin, all over my entire body, is glowing and youthful. My hands, which always look dry and cracked, look a thousand times better. My face looks different too, hard to explain how... better texture to the skin, tighter. It's not my imagination, a few of my friends have made comments about my glowing face. I guess I am having these effects because there is a lot more moisture, lubricating the skin - ? I look pretty good for my age (45) because I exercise regularly, getting a good sweat as often as I can, and eat a low calorie, low-fat diet when possible. But the flax seed oil has really been an amazing remedy for the skin.
I would recommend that people buy bottles of flax that are already refrigerated at the store because they don't contain those questionable preservatives. I bought an expensive bottle of organic flax oil at GNC (not refrigerated) a month ago and it tasted TERRIBLE! Rancid as can be... Then I went to Whole Foods and read through all the brands in the refrigerated section. They pretty much looked the same so I choose an organic brand that had a manufactured date of July, 2008.
I take my tablespoon straight up each time. In the morning before I eat, then lunch, then right before I go to sleep. Not bad tasting at all.
Flaxseed Oil

I started taking Flax Seed oil as an Omega 3 supplement. However, almost immediately I noticed that my skin became noticeably softer and more supple. I increased the dosage to 3x a day (my system had to get used to this, mind you, as it is a laxative) and I swear the wrinkles on my face are much less noticeable!
Fountain of Youth Mask

home remedies for beautiful skin. I have always looked older then my age to the extent when I turned 35 I had wrinkles around my eyes incl the really horrid spider ones on the sides of my eyes and even lines around my mouth. I started experimenting and made a masque .

turmeric 2tbspns
acv 4 tbspn
rose water 6 tbspn
almond oil 2 tbspn
olive oil 2 tbspn
blackseed oil 2 tbspn
Make it a sticky muddy texture
Apply for an hour wash off .I even put it in my eyelids makes them smooth

I know this isn't major. I just got over a virus that had me down for 6 weeks. It has totally wreaked havoc with my skin. Wrinkles, loose skin, dry, itchy. I looked like I aged 10 yrs. Any suggestions for collagen boosting, skin care. I'm back up to my 10 glasses of water a day but it doesn't seem to help.

Hi there. I am really interested in trying out oil as a lotion for my skin problems and wrinkles, but I am worried about my skin because of calories. That may sound vain, but it's true! Does your body absorb the calories from oil? Should I may some cuts in my food intake during the day to make up for it? Thanks!

Hi Gloria, I gave up using lotion many years ago now. Instead, I have used all sorts of oils as skin softeners for both my face and my body. They have included, olive oil, almond oil, castor oil, coconut oil, sesame oil, avocado oil and many more... So, you can see I've covered a lot of oils! Currently, I use coconut oil and have for some time because I like the light fragrance it has and also my body seems to just soak it right up. Lotion, honestly, never seemed to actually soften my skin. It always seemed as soon as the lotion wore off, my skin was dry underneath. With oils, they actually penetrate my skin and make it soft. My skin doesn't become dry and flaky anymore like it did when I used lotion.
As for weight gain from oil use- absolutely no issue at all. And as you can see, I've used quite an array of oils so I don't think there is a problem at all. So, go ahead and use it all you want! It's calorie free! You'll love it. Hope this helps. Lisa

Hi. I'm curious to know about the Ice Water face rinse if it's safe to use. I know it was used in the old hollywood era to give the face a lift. I was told that it's dangerous, that it can damage the capillaries in the face, is this true?? I have used this treatment, but over time my face would hurt and my facial muscles would feel less moveable.

Has anyone use CeraVe for cleansing the skin? My doctor recommended this.

Natural Preservatives:
Can anyone advise if it's Possible, and How - to use Colloidal Silver and/or Hydrogen Peroxide and/or ozonated/oxygenated water as a form of Natural Preservatives for skin care products made with raw herbal powder and botanical oils?
Would there be averse reaction with such high potency and actives? How would we test how to use these germ killing agents?
Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Ghee

Ok - I have very dry skin. Cool air, wind, all of these make my skin feel tight, dry and itchy. Recently I discovered that ghee (clarified butter) rubbed on my skin at night made it feel much better and I wake up with younger skin. So - I started putting it near my eyes and on my eyelashes and it would get into my eyes and it felt good. I have had fatty deposits on my eyeballs for a while now and usually can't drive at night and have to wear reading glasses to read (i am 50) but imagine my surprise when I had to drive in the dark for an emergency and had no trouble! And also I found myself not reaching for my reading glasses as often!!! Now I put the ghee into my eyes every night. Also my eyes are whiter in the morning and I have almost no crows feet!!! Amazing!!!

Thankyou for the info...Now, sorry in advance, but I've never heard of a ginsing "tree." Now, I'm assuming that it's completely different than regular ginseng. I live in the states, wonder where I can get this? You can reply to me at apache_106 [@ ] hotmail. com
EC: He probably means ginseng root, no?
Glycerin and Rose Water

HI to you all x My grand mother , who had the most lovely skin, swore by glycerin and rose water. Here in the UK , once upon a time we could bottles of the above, ready made from any pharmacist's. But all the pharmacists I tried (and at 51 years old, belive me, I tried so many well known ones in the UK) you can now only buy glycerin from them, and then go to a health shop for pure rose water. Then do a 50-50 mix of both products in one glass bottle, and give it a shake, then use pure cotton wool and gently rub it on your face from your neck in gentle strokes outwards towards your cheek bones, then up towards your cheek bones until you reach your hair line(on your fore head) then gently stroke it around the eye area. Always remember that the skin around your eyes, is a lot more fragile than the rest of your face, so as gently as you can, smooth it in wards towards your nose. Then do the same with the back of your neck, smooth it up towards your hair line from the base of your neck, and also for the rest of your body if needed, start at the ankles and rub it gently up wards. Do this 3 times daily. Morning noon and night. If you feel you need to use it more frequently then do so. It won't harm you.
Also, another one of my grand mothers folk recipes for you eyes was to bathe them in witch hazel(pure of course) in an eye bath on rising and just before you go to bed. Hope to find out you all look 20 yrs younger with in the next couple of month's of use(HA! HA! ) but seriously, my Friends and I all use my grans advice and for our ages we all look younger. AND DRINK PLENTY OF PURE WATER!! YOU MUST KEEP YOUR BODY WELL HYDRATED ALSO!! If you can only use tap water, then boil and keep it refrigerated if possible it keeps bacteria from thriving in the water and the same if you use bottled water, once opened refrigerate. SEE YOU ALL AT YOUR 3RD 21ST BIRTHDAY PARTIES! (HA HA! ) Love Andrea c
Glycerin Free
To the lady who asked questions about products without glycerin, including toothpaste. I found a moisturizing oil from Weleda which doesn't have any, neither it has lanolin which also seems to dry your skin. No idea whether the rest of the ingredients is safe. I bought it in France so I have no idea what the exact name might be in English speaking countries but it is a harmonizing Rose oil. Nothing else for the moment but I will keep you informed. I haven't used it yet so I don't know whether it works or not.
Grapeseed Oil

Recently I got a terrible rash from an allergic reaction to antibiotic. Everything I put on my face stung terribly. I tried Grapeseed Oil (with Vit E) and it calmed down within 12 hours. Usually I am battling rosacea but I've kept using the GSO 2x a day and I have no signs of it after a week. Redness, bumps and flakes are gone. Plus my skin is softer and smoother than ever. I think I may be able to stop using the topical Rx I've been on for the last 4-5 years too. I'm going to try it on my body skin and in my netti pot next.
Grapeseed Oil

I am 44 years young and for all of my life I have had rough patches of skin on the back of my arms, tops of my forearms, my cheeks, down the outer sides of my thighs and my butt cheeks. I have used anything and everything out there to try to smooth out these unsightly areas until one day.... I discovered grapeseed oil. I lather it on all over my body right after my shower (the water helps it spread more easily) and the results are incredible! My skin has never been so smooth not only in the problem areas but ALL OVER. I guess I have been starving my skin all of these years of much needed oils. The brand of Grapeseed Oil I am using is "NOW" Try it!! You might be quite surprised!
Forever Soft.....
