Vitamin C and youthful skin: I knew someone who used to take Vitamin C crystals several times a day. He looked so young and his skin was always glowing and healthy. He was 40 at the time and played sports so he was in the sun a lot. He told me the he took the vitamin C for a lot of reasons but a bonus was that it worked on the collegan in the skin. He explained it this way. If your skin is the bricks, the collagen would be the morter between the bricks. As you age the mortar (Collagen) breaks down and things start to sag. But the vitamin C works to keep that collagen firm. Naturally I started taking the Vitamin C right away. This was over 12 years ago. I take Ester C, and have gradually increased my dosage up to 5000 mgs a day. I will take 2 500 mg capsules upon waking, then with all three meals, then at bedtime. This amount works for me and I learned a lot about it from reading the works of Linus Pauling. I found that I was the one who didn't get all of the virus's and colds going around. I used to get sore throats all the time, no matter what the season, which sometimes led to wicked strept throat. No more. I'm sure this is because of the Ester C. I'm almost 51, and no one has guessed my age to be in my 40s yet. I keep my age to myself but not the benefits of vitamin C!
I use Vitamin E Oil or Emu Oil on my face, neck, and hands. Its wonderful as I have dry skin. I do not use soap of any kind on my face. I just turned 60 and one clerk thought I was her age(48). I get many compliments.
I want to thank Mimi from Corpus Christi, TX for her advice on using Vitamin E and cold water for beautiful skin. I have noticed a difference in my skin since using this remedy and I have only been doing it for about two weeks. I think my skin looks younger and my blemishes are down to almost nil. Putting the Vitamin E on is a bit of a pain, but I moisten my face with a little cold water and this seems to help. Please share any other remedies or beauty tips you might have Mimi! Thanks again.
Vitamin E oil has kept my face young. When I was about 12 my mom made me and my sister spread Vitamin E on our faces. We complained because it felt sticky and thick like honey, but she insisted that overnight our faces would absorb it and that we would thank her later when we were older. She also insisted that after a shower we rinse our faces and bodies with cold water. And to never let the shower water hit our faces but to splash rinse our faces with our hands and with cold water ALWAYS. Mother knows best. The next day our faces felt baby smooth. After that ever so often (about once or twice a month) I would open up Vitamin E capsules and spread the oil on my face before bed and sleep with it on my face overnight. People have always commented how clear and smooth my face is. I've had people also ask me what I use in my hair because it is ridiculously shiny (I think it's because of the cold water rinses) I'm also an avid red wine drinker (I have been since my early 20's). Ironically, recent studies have shown that a chemical called Resveratrol slows age related diseases. I am in my 40's and even though at the time I was 100lbs. overweight at a physical I had done, I was told that my blood pressure and cholesterol levels were superb. They also thought I was only 20 or 21 (and they only thought I was in my 20's because my vocabulary was what made me sound more mature/not to mention my youngest who was 8 at the time was with me otherwise they would've guessed my age even younger). Anytime people find out my age their jaws drop. When me and my husband go out I still get asked for my ID (even though I'm a couple of months older than my husband) My husband on the other hand is a beer drinker (not that I have anything against beer-I enjoy beer every once in a while, too) and a smoker and he's been mistaken for being in his 50's. He's also been offered the senior discount at places we've gone to eat. I'm convinced that a combination of both the Vitamin E and the coincidence that I happened to be a red wine drinker (Merlot) is what has kept my skin youthful. I've been doing the same for my daughter who has the loveliest face and people do the same all the time (ask what she uses on her face and hair to keep it so clear and smooth). I know that chances are we just have good genes (my mom and her sisters look very young, too) but then again my mom and her sisters have been doing the same thing for years, too; So, if you don't have a skin care regimen I highly recommend this one and pass it on.
Vitamin A, which is found in carrots, Vitamin C found in apples and washing my skin with a mild antibacterial soap twice a day morning and night.

For skin, try drinking more water along with applying aloe and vit E liquid. Keeping your skin hydrated will hide smaller wrinkles, and for the acne try an herbal rinse, using herbs that have anti-bacterial qualities. Try not to use any harsh chemicals on your skin, and use a gentle exfoliator (spelling?) every couple days, less is you have sensitive skin. I use brown sugar in hazelnut oil, with a bit of lemon or lime juice mixed in. You can add a tiny amount of your facial wash to help prevent too much oil sticking to your face. I hope that this works for you as well as it works for me!
I use only water to clean my face. And once in a month, I use facial soap. Some time ago I used to use the daily, and I found out especially in the summer that I could not resist sunburn. My natural skin oil is my sun block. Especially those who don't have an oily face skin can benefit from this advice.
To keep my skin soft and smooth I drink lots of water. To keep gray hairs away I spin around about 40 spins, believe me this works, but you have to do it every day. I'm going to start using the ACV, I'll let U know my results.

I bought white tea bags at the health food store. I make a cup of tea using one tea bag, instead of drinking the tea I apply it every morning after I cleanse as an astringent. I notice my wrinkles are less noticeable and have nearly disappeared. Some beauty lotions have white tea in them to make wrinkles disappear, I just make my own, less expensive and you get white tea purely
I cleanse my face before bed with Witch Hazel (natural toner) and apply organic coconut oil very lightly. My face is so smooth and soft. I am 50 and everyone thinks that I am in my late 30's. I also use coco butter alternately. Coconut oil applied directly on an acne area will dry up the sore. Have done it many times, it works great!
Hello Earth Clinic,
I am very new to home remedy. I stopped to use chemical face wash and try to apply daily products on my face to substitute it then I give a try with yogurt mask. But after I apply yogurt, my skin become dry (normally yogurt is for dry skin, right?) Until now, I haven't found any natural product for my face.
I will be deeply grateful if you can help me. I don't want to use my chemical products back.
Thank you so much.
yes, it's true. Applying plain non-fat yougurt to your hair and skin for 20 minutes or longer befor showering will instantly take car of dry hair and soft smooth skin. It may sound gross, but trust me, I've been using it since I was a kid, and I've never had dry skin.
