I have been using a honey and milk mask on my cheeks for Rosacea. I leave it on for about an hour. It has really helped calm the redness and breakouts on my cheeks. My Rosacea is worse in the winter months, so I am glad to have found this remedy now.
hi I keep getting breakouts, ive been told I have acne rosacea, ive read all the stories but do they use the same thing..cinnamon and honey?...if so where can I buy this and how do I use it
Hydrogen peroxide 6% used as a skin cleanser is a very effective way to rid yourself of Demodex folliculorum (Rosacea), using a thumb sized piece of soaked cotton wool... be diligent and rub it into the skin for 4 weeks 2x a day. Be careful around facial hair as it will bleach the hair. I wasn't concerned about the bleaching of my hair I just wanted to be rid of it ...now I use it 1x or 2x a month whenever I feel an itching or see a red spot. I've been free from Rosacea for 18 months now :) I eat and drink whatever I like... its a no brainer people ...just do it
Having become a victim to rosacea in my early 60s and which condition progressed until I had the worse case scenerio with severe breakouts, blood blisters under the skin and scarring. I searched for remedies because the antibiotics and creams prescribed did little or nothing. Monodox initially helped with the inflamation, but over time I had to double the dose and triple it during breakouts. My brother sent me a news article saying that someone applied Vick's vaporub to their rosacea and it healed them. I tried Vick's and found that it did help a great deal, but did not alleviate my problem.
Quite by accident, my wife told me I had bad breath and I searched for a remedy on the Internet. The solution I found was a 50/50 solution of household hydrogen peroxide with distilled or filtered water and to gargle continuously for one to one and a half minutes.
The explanation for this mixture was that the odor causing bacteria in the mouth could not tolerate oxygen and by using this remedy it killed the bacteria. It did not eliminate it, but eliminated enough of the bacteria between treatments that you could go most of the day without experiencing bad breath. What happened to my amazement is that my rosacea disappeared. I can only speculate that like taking sub lingual B-12 vitamins, you get greater amounts of the vitamin by absorption under the tongue. I am assuming that whatever causes rocasea is some form of bacteria or other organism that cannot tolerate oxygen and my gargling with the hydrogen peroxide solution eliminated whatever was causing my rosacea. I hope this helps someone else in healing this terrible problem.
I started looking for a natural cure for the redness of roscacea on my face. Tired of using retin-A nightly and worried about long term use, I started swabing my face with 3% hydrogen peroxide morning and night. It has improved my face dramatically but not completely gone. I am going to experiment some more with adding an afternoon application. If it bleaches the skin, doesnt it make sense it would take the redness away?? Does anyone know if this is harming the skin? It certainly feels baby-soft from using it, and looks so much better already, it seemed to work after just a couple of times!
i came here a few weeks back and read the posts regarding hydrogen peroxide, baking soda with water and tea tree oil for rosacea
I tried them all as well as Borax which I did only once because of my skin sensitivity.
anyway, whatever i had been doing worked!. redness has gone and also the cystic pimples. no flushing, a few patches of dry skin are still on my forehead but it could my usual eczema.
I wash my face everyday with water and hydrogen peroxide diluted in the water. every other day i'll add tea tree oil into the water. when my face is still wet, i'll put Eucerin (heavy cream) on. I also use an acne lamp for about 20 min each night.
i think the hydrogen peroxide and tea tree oil had been a great help.
i also drink water with baking soda almost everyday.
I have had a terrible struggle with severe rosacea on my face, eyes, and neck the past few months, along with seborrheic dermatitis on and behind my ears. This attacked with a vengeance at age 50 after a lifetime of no significant skin problems. The onset was after a serious illness, possibly autoimmune, so it seems it was facilitated by a compromised immune system. After getting progressively worse following my dermatologist's recommendations, I started reading and researching everything I could get my hands on. There were many days I wouldn't even leave the house because my face and eyes were so raw and swollen. My facial features were nearly unrecognizable as my own, and I was truly desperate, and was terribly afraid I would never look normal again. I finally seem to have found a combination of remedies that have almost miraculously returned my skin to its former (smooth, soft, unblemished, not red) self, and I am praying that there is no relapse.
So far, so good, and I wanted to share what I am doing.
1).I am taking 4-5 lysine 1000 mg.tablets daily (2-3 a.m. & p.m.) along with several grams of vitamin C daily
2). After washing with a mild facial cleanser morning & evening, I follow with a ACV straight out of the bottle all over the affected areas applied with a cotton ball.
3) After 5 minutes, I rinse off the ACV, pat dry, and apply vaseline all over my face & neck. The results have been amazing! I don't know this for fact, but IF rosacea is caused by mites, I think that the vaseline may smother them, but I'd love to hear Ted's thoughts on this. As heavy as vaseline is, at night on rosacea-ravaged skin it is soothing and nicely absorbed, and you may be able to go a little lighter in the morning. This has been a godsend for me, and I would love to know if anyone else tries it and what their results are. I will post an update after awhile to see if I remain clear.

I see that on this Site there are quite a few people who claim success in treating their Rosacea by using Manuka Honey. Wonderful that this simple treatment can free people of such embarrassment - they often have the redness in the very place where they don't want it I.e. nose, forehead or cheeks! News is out that purified, medical grade, KANUKA Honey may be even slightly more effective than other types of honey but most types of honey will probably be effective to some extent for this troublesome problem, especially if you happen to be a teenager! As an alternative to taking antibiotics, it should be tried out first in my humble opinion. Apparently there is a mite that gets into the skin, causing the Rosacea and the ingredients in the honey will deal with these pesky creatures quite effectively. Antibiotic resistance worldwide is becoming a huge problem anyway.
If you are a sufferer, then you really should check out the many postings on this Site under the heading "Rosacea". You may be surprised just how many folks have had success with Honey!!
I think here at earthclinic should create a different category for Manuka Honey. Even tho every raw honey is beneficial Manuka Honey deserves its own category. I thought it was a myth and that it was just like any other. But I've used it on my face and my rosacea is gone my skin is smooth and I look 10 years younger. I have not take it internally but Manuka honey is 20 times more anti bacteria and anti inflammatory than tea tree oil. It's selling millions all around the world improving every kind of ailment. I have to say I have not used anything better. I rank manuka honey 1st and ACVwith olive oil 2nd. It also should be added in the founatin of youth category and acne. I thank God for allowing me to try this elixir. If it does this in my skin that fast I can't imagine what it can do in the blood stream. Truly miracle

I have had rosacea for ten years now. It started duing perimenopause. It has devastated me quite often when there is a social event or even a trip to the store. I went to a dermotologist and he recommended a topical gel. That worked for a while but later on it seemed to aggravate it worse than before. I tried several of the rememedies on this site and I found that apple cider vinegar made my skin quite dry whether I used it topically or drank it. After endless searching on the internet, I found a site that talked about manuka honey. I have taken a teaspoon of honey three times a day 30 minutes before a meal. I washed my face with it and every other day add a teaspoon of brown sugar. If the mixture is too dry only add a drop of water. It is amazing what it has done to my skin. I am now writing to you with a clear complexion and only a very very slight pink to my face. I read that even though the mites are to blame sometimes h. pylori in our stomach contributes to it too. I wish you all well and hopes that this also helps you.
I have struggled with rosacea for 15+ years and finally have had success with using manuka honey as a mask or even overnight, just a very light layer. For four weeks. I did use UMF 10+ higher. Used nightly. Once cleared up, cleansing my face with a tee tree oil body wash letting the wash sit for 10-20 seconds until your skin tingles, or raw, organic coconut oil wash works well too. It's recommended to leave coconut oil on as a moisturizer. I also use a cucumber mist toner and primrose oil moisturizer which also is calming and healing to the skin. My redness is diminishing and breakouts are far and few between now. I wish you the same success!
Hi all, and thanks for this amazing site. I am wondering what experience anyone would be willing to share about using manuka honey or grapefruit seed extract topically on rosacea or perioral dermatitis. I've never used either one, but am intrigued by the feedback readers have given for other conditions.
Would the honey "feed" the mites rather than kill them, or is the antimicrobial factor stronger than the sugar in honey?
Does the GSE work, and how precisely would one dilute/apply it?
Many thanks for taking the time to write!
I've had rosacea forever. Everyone always asked me if I had gotten some sun. Or I've been dubbed rosy cheek girl. Every time I start feeling hot My face is bright red. This is not cute in your twenties. I used makeup forever to cover up the problem but im 24 and it was simply just annoying every morning putting on make up and getting my clothes dirty from the makeup. But my bf is the reason I actually switched to not wearing make up. He kept encouraging me to be natural blah blah. It was a tough road at first detoxing my skin because so many years of make up made my skin almost unbareable to look at naturally. But a month later and 300 organic sites later I found the two items that cleared me up.
First: Manuka Honey- amazing, toned my redness down and started clearing up all the little bumps I had. Didnt really clear but made my face livable and detoxed my skin for sure.
2nd: Zinc Oxide Ointment 20% from any drug store
I started putting this stuff on my problem places for three days morning and night and was noticeably clearer within 2.
A man I work with came to my desk with skin cancer on his body. But his face was completely clear. He told me he had been using sun block with zinc oxide religiously on his face and his doctor was amazed by how much his skin had improved and cleared. So I jumped on it quick.
A week later I am clearer then ever. I also want to add that I have been drinking aloe vera juice from the HFS and Im sure it has contributed. But I am so amazed and shocked in the transformation of my skin. And beside a little mascara and lip color from time to time I have stopped wearing make up. It was worth the transition time. GOOD LUCK.

I recently went on the "Master Cleanse" and after only 3 days noticed a drastic change in the appearance of my rosacea redness. My skin had a creamy white appearance with tight pores that I have not experienced since I was in my 20's (I am 38). I only lasted 5 days on this detox/cleanse but my initial intent was weight loss. What a wonderful side effect! I am not sure if these will be lasting effects or not. Only time will tell. Since most people believe that rosacea is a result of PH I believe quite possibly this could be a possible cure. I am not sure of the exact life cycle of the demodex mite. I am speculating if a person could stay on the cleanse long enough to cover the life cycles then that would end up being a viable solution to the problem.
Hi, I wanted to check if anyone else has tried applying Milk of Magnesia on the face for rosacea? I have been applying since last 1 week and have seen significant improvement in my Rosacea. Thanks.
