Turmeric

I began getting increased trouble with acne rosacea flares (this is quite a different condition from acne vulgaris/teenagers acne). The flares were happening despite my already taking fish oil and an antibiotic ointment from the dermatologist did not help much. Then, I read in the news that acne rosacea is caused by a build up of inflammatory by products in the skin.

At once, I thought of using turmeric. I mixed turmeric spice with water and dabbed it on my flare spots. I had to scrub hard to remove it next day as it stains the skin, but 3 days later, my flare spots were gone. I take 1 teaspoon of turmeric in water each day, internally.

Then, I had to have a dental procedure where they had to do a lot of digging around in the gum to install a temporary crown. I was told my gums would feel sore and to take some ibuprofen. Instead, I swirled turmeric in my mouth after brushing my teeth, letting it reach all my gums, then swallowed it. I did this every night for the next 3 weeks. I had no gum pain at all and when I returned to have the crown installed, the dentist was amazed at how healthy my gums were. I told him I'd used turmeric.

Warning---turmeric stains white cloth and clothing, and it will probably stain artificial dental implants and dentures. But if you have all your teeth and want something extra for healthy gums, turmeric is amazing stuff. Warning..it may constipate in considerable dosages so if you have to use a lot of it, increase both fluid and fiber intake.

Hi all, i have suffered roscacea for over five years now, before that my skin was something i was proud of! I read with interest Ted's remedys, but there are so many conflicting causes? If it is indeed caused by mites then why does eating spicy food or alchohol make the condidtion flare-up? By the way, i use pure English lavender on my face now and the result has seen a remarkable change in the redness!, my sympathies to all sufferers!

I had rosacea for about 1-1/2 - 2 years. A health food store worker told me to try 25,000units of Vitamin A. It cleared it up in about 1 week and never returned.

Essential Oils

I found a cure for Rosacea!! I've tried everything. I was using the Rosacea therapy with Skin Actives, and it was controlling it OK, but not completely. I'm 51 and have "mature skin", but I prone to breakouts if I use the wrong products.

I've really been getting into aromatherapy and have been reading a lot about essential oils.

Helichrysum! Also Patchouli.

So I got a couple of ounces of Jojoba oil, and free poured these two oils into the mix. I slather it on, wipe off the excess but don't completely remove it. It took about 3 days to see a difference.

I only get really good quality oils, like from Natures Gift or Mountain Rose Herbs. Only steam distilled.

I added some Sea Buckthorn Berry oil to the mix lately, as well as a drop of lavender and a drop of sweet fennel (for pores).

I really think I'm onto something. I cannot believe how great my skin (two girlfriends and my husband) looks!!
